Little family run pub with excellent food and good selection of local ciders. Out if the way of the beaten track but we'll worth a visit. Sunday lunches look good too.
The food here was wonderful. The waitress was very polite, and they were able to accommodate my request to have my burger plain. They even reduced the price of the burger by £5 as a result. The atmosphere was very good. You couldn't hear glasses clinking together being collected, like you could in any other bar/restaurant, and you could actually hear yourself think which was nice. While there was an amount of noise due to other customers talking that's just to be expected. There's a nice selection of cakes and sweet treats to buy and they all look very nice. Would definitely come again
Brilliant service, lovely atmosphere and great food. Arrived on a Saturday evening, they accommodated our table of 6 and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. A lovely quirky place to eat would highly recommend.
Popped in on a pub crawl back to Jamaica Inn, met some locals at the bar and had a great laugh. Very welcoming atmosphere! We'd like to wish the new land lady all the best for the future 👊
Absolutely loved our 2nd visit Food is so different from anywhere we have the pleasure of eating at Staff friendly - found the menu changes monthly definitely a treat and we can not wait to visit again.
Me and my husband have been here a few times now with and without the kids. It's a lovely 3 mile round trip for us to walk with the bonus of being able to stop for lunch and/or coffee and cake here at the midpoint. The food is exceptional everytime we go. Yesterday we had the mezze and lamb wrap. All the little sauces and accompaniments all taste so incredible and are presented beautifully. We always switch plates half way through so we get to try it all! The staff are always friendly. It's a lovely sun trap in good weather but also there is also plenty of space to shelter/undercover if the heavens open. Great coffee and choice of different drinks too. Highly recommend.
The interior is beautiful, the food innovative, the staff really friendly and informed, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Unfortunately our evening was marred by a party of six who I suspect hadn't seen each other for quite a while. They got louder and louder as the evening wore on, we now know all about their travels to New York, Bali, relationships..... By the time we got to desert we decided to go and sit back in the bar along with one of the two other couples. There was another dining room that was empty and I don't understand why they weren't seated there. The front of house said that 'this has never happened before'. Apparently even the back kitchen staff wondered what was going on.
Such a shame as we had been really looking forward to going, it was a belated treat for my husbands birthday and we'd travelled a long way. What should have been a good (though very expensive) evening ruined.
I filled in the questionnaire, stating what had happened but didn't receive a reply.
I went in there a few days ago and ordered a large size pizza. On the way out I noticed that the pizza was really small and wondered if that was what a large is supposed to look like (note that it was even smaller that a normal regular size) so I questioned the guy who made it. He admitted to make to pizza while drunk so he did not spread the doe properly, saying this while laughing like it was funny. Did not offer to re make the pizza, I had to ask for some of the money back and was looked like I was asking something ridiculous. I was buffled by the service provided and as for why the pizza chef was drunk on shift??? Soo unprofessional! Also the pizza turned out to be raw. I would reccomend the management to reconsider the staff who works here.
