Pleasant tearoom on the road just above Wheal Coates area of the coast path. Serve cream teas as they should be and delicious cakes and good tea. Pleasant lady served us. We had our dog with us but we’re still able to sit inside although they do have outside seating as well.

The cafe is in such a lovely area, perfect for when we finish our walk. We grabbed a few coffees and ice creams, and the coffee was great, the ice cream portions were amazing! The cafe was so welcoming and and staff were so friendly! Loved the open plan kitchen area:) Would definitely come back again when in the area

Visited St Agnes Head today and called at the tea room for coffee, tea and cake, lovely young lady who served us, believe she makes the cakes at the tearoom too and they were delicious, partner had cinnamon cake and I had Victoria sandwich, very nice welcome, and nice comfy settee, really enjoyed our chat and thank you for the lovely cake 😊

We always pass this place and we decided to finally give it a go. We absolutely loved it. The only thing I'd suggest is warming the place up throughout the day as we were pretty chilly. It won't put me off from coming back though and I expect this will be my new "go to cafe".

Sadly not as great as expected ordered jkt potatoes and they tasted odd re heated in microwave and this changed the texture of them no beans to have with cheese topping, service was poor felt they were snobby not interested in providing a service over priced and overall very disappointing.

Popped in here on my Storm watching day for a cuppa and bacon bap. Very nice, decent flatwhite made well. Bacon bap all good in relaxing surroundings. During a warm day plenty of nice seating outside and also room to park if you arrive by car. If walking its not far from the coastal path either.

A return visit to Wheal Coates tea room, this time for a cream tea. The place is still excellent and the lady proprietress warm and welcoming. The facilities here are all spotless, and the range of food is commendably wide for a small establishment. Full marks, and congratulations.

Absolutely stunning location very close to the walk for St Agnes Beacon and Wheal Coates. The tearoom is bright and airy, with very friendly staff. There is indoor and outdoor seating and exceptionally clean facilities. We were here for our second visit having liked it so much the first time round. Our family of 3 had a latte, a pot of tea, and a hot chocolate which were all very nice indeed. Not the cheapest tea to buy; but worth it for the good vibes and view!

What a lovely surprise it was to discover Wheal Coates tea room while out walking this afternoon. The place is a gem. Why have I not discovered it before? I spotted the sign while coming down from St Agnes Beacon and crossing the lane to get to the coastal path. But if, as I usually do, you stick to the coastal path, and you don't know it's there, it's easily missed. There's another sign by the turning down to the car parks on St Agnes Head; this is badly faded, however, and easily overlooked. Why not put up a new sign and a bigger one? I say all this because the tea room is brilliant, quite simply one of the best I've been to in west Cornwall, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's even open in the winter months when so many of the cafes along the coastal path close till the next season. One of the good things about Wheal Coates is that it doesn't depend on the passing tourist trade. It's clearly somewhere that local people know about and like, and today there was a group of mums and their babies and toddlers on the middle table; and the youngsters were all a delight. It goes without saying from this that Wheal Coates is very child-friendly. As for the food, the range of choice is surprisingly wide for a small establishment, and there's something to suit everyone. The cakes are absolutely mouth-watering, and I've rarely drunk a better latte. Everywhere is spotless and there's a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which is set by the proprietor herself, who clearly enjoys her work and values every customer. If I could award Wheal Coates six stars, I would! Long may it flourish ! I'll be coming again with my wife, and I've sent an email with recommendation to our son and daughter.

Popped in to shelter from the weather, and was pleasantly surprised to find a quaint little tea room in what felt like the middle of nowhere! Nice cream tea, nice quick bite to eat, friendly staff, all in all recommended if you're out on the Agnes Head or Agnes Beacon walks.

Had visited the nearby Chapel Porth and drove past on our way home. Stopped for coffee and scones; excellent coffee, scones were delicious and served with clotted cream and good quality jam. A decent range of paninis, sandwiches and jacket potatoes available. The cake selection looked epic but my waistline said no. Well worth a visit.

Walked up the nearby beacon hill in the mist in the morning then on to St Agnes. We walked back in the sun and this was the perfect place for a welcome drink and snack before heading back up to the beacon for a clear sky panoramic view. Inside and outside seating with a great selection of drinks, cakes, snacks and ice creams. Dogs welcome. Well worth a visit! (and clean toilets)
