Fantastic cafe in fact so good we visited twice in a week! Had a breakfast which was lovely, great quality ingredients and served fresh and hot. Went back for an omelette and fish finger butty both spot on. Had to have cream tea as well which I have to say the scones really are the best in the area. They were lush. Also took a slice of coffee cake away with us! ..well we are on holidays. Honestly this is a gem of a place. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus for us. Dont walk past it do go and see the ladies they do not disappoint.

Visited twice over the last few days while showing a friend around the area. Firstly, the staff are kind, friendly and extremely helpful. Made us feel welcome right away. Their breakfasts are delicious, and a great price. We had poached eggs on gluten free bread and a "goose" breakfast which my dustbin of a friend struggled to finish. Their gluten free scones are pure witchcraft. I have no idea how they manage to make them so light but they're the best scones I've had in an age! If you're gluten free, this is definitely a great option!

We stumbled upon this cafe after our visit to the model village. There was 6 of us, which had proven an issue in a few places we tried in Torquay, but not in this cafe. We were sat down and the staff were so friendly. They fussed over my 16 month daughter and my 4 year old son. My husband and dad had cheese on toast and a bowl of chips, which looked delicious, while my mum and I had a cake. I had the spiced fruit cake which is worth a visit for alone! My parents visited again for lunch on Thursday and again raved at the quality and the friendliness of the place. Today, our last day of our holiday, we visited again for breakfast before the drive home. We had 4 vegan breakfasts and toast. It was so tasty and the staff again were very attentive. We will certainly return here if in Torquay again. Thank you ladies, can't recommend you all highly enough!

We popped in for lunch after a visit to Bygones and were greeted with a friendly welcome. Our party of four enjoyed a hot chocolate, tea, butternut squash soup (served with a warm, granary baguette), a ham baguette, Brie and bacon baguette and cheese and tomato baguette, finished off with a chocolate brownie and millionaires shortbread. All delicious and very tasty! Clean and tidy cafe, good options for lunch - definitely recommended!

Found this cafe by chance, after visiting the Bygones museum. Popped in for a cream tea - an excellent choice. The scones were so light (the best we have ever eaten) and they even warmed them up for us. They were so big, that the wife wasn't able to eat both of hers and they even offered for her to take it home with her. Tea was strong and came in a big pot, so was able to have refills. The staff were friendly and attentive and the choice of menu was very good. I accidentally left my bag behind and noticed it was missing half hour later. I contacted the cafe and they had put it safely behind the counter. Excellent service and we would highly recommend you pay this place a visit.

I popped into the Silver Goose a couple of times last week when visiting the area property searching, spying out the land before relocation to the Bay. Very welcoming, friendly and warm lady running the show at front of house, an excellent flat-white, I didn't eat but the food looks yummy and I will definitely return for lunch when back in the area. The crab cakes, fresh coleslaw and fries sounded great! There are lots of good little cafes in the area from what I saw, I went to a few but not all, but once I relocate to the area this would be on my morning coffee stop list for sure.

Called for a bit of lunch after visiting the nearby Model Village. I had the prawn sandwiches which came with salad and crisps and which I enjoyed. My wife went for the cheese toasties again accompanied by salad and crisps. My wife did not eat all of hers and the lady who served us asked if it was the bread that was too hard. My wife explained that the bread was too thick, the cheese hadn't melted and it was therefore just a piece of cheese on very thick toasted bread rather than what we would define as a toastie! The lady just shrugged it off and left without further comment so not sure why she asked.

Having visited this restaurant several times in the past I had heard it was under new ownership. Well, the new people have upped their game with redecoration inside and even a lovely new floor. Glancing at a nearby table we opted for the roast of the day which was lamb. The lamb came with a full range of vegetables and a jug of gravy as can be seen in my pic. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the roast potatoes were perfect. The lamb was far better than expected! A superb meal. The staff were friendly and chatted with us prior to the food arriving. One of the new owners asked us twice during the meal if everything is ok - which it certainly was. A really lovely lunch for about £7.50. Having found this little jewel of a cafe back in February 2016, we returned hoping that the food and service were as good as our previous visits. We were a party of four adults and four very young children which can prove troublesome to accommodate with the need for high chairs etc but not at this venue, nothing is too much trouble. As a lover of a decent coffee, I can honestly say the coffee here beats any of the formulaic coffee shops you find on many high streets these days. I ordered the chicken mayo baguette and I would highly recommend this, as the bread was absolutely delicious. The owners made us feel as welcome as our previous visit and we hope to come back soon in our annual pilgrimage to the model village - thanks again.

We had lunch at this wonderful restaurant a few days ago while vacationing in Devon. What a pleasant surprise to finally find a restaurant that knows about great food and service! The staff were welcoming and highly efficient. The French lady who runs the restaurant was so friendly! She brought over a colouring book and crayons for our 4 year old daughter. She took our food order and when the food came it was the best meal we had not only during our stay, but was the best we have had anywhere here in the UK. Best of all, the French Chef came out of the kitchen to say hi and ask how we liked the meal!!! I am from Bermuda and I am used to good food and service. The U.K. Food service standards in pubs and restaurants are appalling and at last I finally had a chance to experience proper dining! I would highly recommend this restaurant as a must try if you are ever planning to visit! Bon Appetite!!

No Food Rating on Display and an empty Cafe tells you all you need to know! Went here last week for lunch with my family. Once we sat down were asked if we wanted Menu's, not sure what else was on offer in a Cafe??? 2 young girls and 1 older lady were on front of house, they either do not understand you or order something completely different from what we requested. For example: 1) We ordered a small Hot Chocolate for our 6 year old and 2 milkshakes. A extra large Hot Chocolate arrived. The milkshakes were warm and did not taste nice. 2) We ordered a Chicken Mayo Toasted Sandwich which comes with Spring Onion and Sweetcorn (well it does on the Menu!). A 'Chicken' Toasted Sandwich arrived, with very little filling and it tasted more like tuna than chicken. When I asked where was the: Mayo, Sweetcorn and Spring Onion, I was told "We don't include them in case you are allergic". Surly I would not have ordered it or told the waitress not to include something if I was? At least the waitress could have told me to tell them each and every ingredient I wanted in my toasted sandwich? 3) The toilet facilities are dirty, and really not nice. Also noticed areas in front of house which were not clean e.g under collection of tea pots behind the counter. Will not be returning here.

The one at The Silver Goose was far superior. And the portions of clotted cream and jam were just right on the cream tea. Service was friendly too. Yes there was a table that was being used as an office as one user was so happy to point out but I find that sort of thing amusing. The food was hearty and that's the main thing.

My parents visited this cafe last week and told me it was the best Eggs Benedict they have ever had, they said the coffee was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. My partner and I happened to be passing yesterday afternoon and popped in close to closing time. The owners were delightful, even though we were probably keeping them. I had coffee and walnut cake which was perfectly moist and full of flavour and my partner had a chicken panini, which as usually a very fussy eater he loved, saying the chicken mayonnaise was creamy and full of flavour and the salad was fresh and crunchy. The coffee however was the real star of the show. The best flat white I have had in a long time. The coffee beans are unique to this cafe and are roasted by a man in the local area (they are also available to buy from the cafe at a very reasonable price for the quality, which we have done!)We spoke to one of the owners for quite a while and he told us all about the cafe and local area, he is a very interesting and likeable person, with a great cafe. We plan to make this a regular place for us to visit and try more of the food.

I have just had the eggs benedict with ciabatta and I have to say that it wasn't just the best Eggs Benedict that I have had but it was good enough to claim the title of the best breakfast ever. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly and accommodating for my wife picking some food that was not in the set menu. Great food and highly recommended.

Four for Breakfast. Eggs Benedict all round. I have previously mentioned to my friends just how good this dish is at the Silver Goose. Well we are all on holiday in the bay and therefore decided to enjoy this dish for our breakfast. Prepared and presented to a very high standard by Andrew. Your server, Holly, I think, is delightful, a 5 star find. Thank You.

Had been told about the daily roast meal. A friend & I tried it. Very good quality food, was impressed - spit roast lamb with really crunchy roast potatoes and three veg- all very artistically arranged on the plate. Great coffee and tea. Realistically priced, with a smaller OAP option on the main meal.

We visited today on a Monday lunchtime . We're here from Cowbridge South Wales - lovely young server - genuine welcome , Well done her ! She made a delightful thick milkshake and superb tasting coffees . We can be slaves to Costa and Neros , but her barista skills far outweighed these uninspiring chains . My husband commented it was one of the nicest Lattes he had had in a long while . Chef was very accommodating serving eggs benedict at 1.30pm for my daughter who had never tried it but cleared the plate ! The omelette was light fluffy and delicious and they didn't skimp on the ham . I had the chicken soup . Heaven . Can still taste its rich flavours now . Thank you for letting our Bichon Frise stay in the cafe under the table and the thoughtful bowl of water that was offered . We will be back for lunch and are going to try the cream teas ! Thank you again for a lovely lunch . Rachel .

Early tea with our girls and my parents, even though they were due to close in about 30 minutess they stayed open for us and we're happy to serve us. Nick and my father engaged in conversations about photography as they were both retired pro's. Nick was also keen to share his knowledge in relation to the various photos and models of planes scattered around the place. Superb ambience great coffee and just about 2 of the nicest café proprieters' I have ever met.

To anyone who happens to be in the precinct area, and is craving for a good quality large beef burger. Then, I recommend stopping at the Silver Goose, for their ''monster burger''. This burger is fairly large in size, and packed full with enough ingredients. The taste is tactile and delightfully rich. Very satisfying burger, also ideal to have for brunch. Because of it's generous size and heaviness.Do bare in mind, the monster burger is also served with chunky chips. The owners and staff present decent manners, and show no signs of rudeness.

Just had a lovely breakfast at the Silver Goose. Fascinating chatting to the owner Andrew Thomas who happens to be a renowned professional photographer, an entertaining character who used to live in France and has a wealth of interesting stories. The cafe is decorated with examples of his work and is highly recommended as a change to the usual cafe/restaurant in Torquay.

We happened upon the Silver Goose quite by chance, as were visiting nearby attractions and looking for somewhere to eat at lunchtime. A glance at the menu made it look coming in to, and i'm glad that we did!The food was all well prepared, and delicious. The service was good, and child friendly, which always makes trips out with children so much easier! The food was mostly cafe fare for lunchtime, but done excellently, which is the most important thing. The chef also came out personally to check if we'd enjoyed our food, which is always a nice touch. Will definitely have lunch here when we're back in the area.

We were in Babbacombe taking the grandchildren to the model village and stopped here for lunch. What a great little place this is, lunch specials included spit-roast beef with roast potatoes and veg (excellent), and cottage pie, also good. There are the usual sorts of café food too. The cakes on display looked very tasty and the coffee is very good indeed. The décor is simple and elegant featuring pictures of the Spruce Goose and some stylish cars. The staff are warm and welcoming, it is just a great place to eat. The only mystery is why, on a sunny Saturday, the place wasn't packed out with diners. Their loss.

The Silver Goose is a small establishment serving superb coffee, cakes and light meals during the day which transforms itself into something special in the evenings. Mine host, Andrew, is a perfectionist who lovingly and enthusiastically produces delicious and well presented dishes which really treat the palate. He told me that as a young man he worked as a mining engineer, gave that away to take up a life long passion for photography which provided access to some top rated chefs in France with whom he developed his other lifelong passion, cooking. Andrew will happily share culinary tips with any guest willing to listen and together with his partner, Tanya, they will make your evening exceptional.

We really liked this place - its on the quaint little main street in St Marychurch so lovely setting. The food was very good, all very fresh and well prepared. Also the staff were very friendly and attentive - I had a bit of a coughing fit and the lady went off and brought me a glass of water, without making a thing of it. Very much appreciated! We would definitely go back there again.

The food was well presented and tasted delicious. The staff were friendly and went the extra mile without having to be asked. The cooked food came out in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. The coffee tasted fab. It was a busy place and they treated everyone else the same. Brilliant customer care. Would highly recommend.

I've eaten here many times and never had a problem. Very clean and helpful, NORMALLY! on this visit I ordered a cheeses burger and I asked for it without mayo and a couple of other bits it stated it comes with as I'm a fussy eater. When it arrived the burger bun was covered in butter (this was not said on the menu and is not normal practice for places to butter there burger rolls!) I brought this up with the waitress who then addressed the chef. His reply to her was "o for god sake " (I was sat by the kitchen door!) Not only did I feel uncomfortable at this point the waitress then returned to say the best she could offer was a new bun. I explained the burger was covered in the butter as well. To cut a long story short I was charged the full price for this burger and even the 50p to add the cheese when it wasn't my fault. Felt very let down and would hesitate to return here again.

Took my elderly mother, who is super fussy, and I can report that her plate was almost cleared, just the portion was a little to large. Not mine, every morsel eaten. The turkey was done to perfection, with a great assortment of veg.The owner, didn't get his name, was lovely, took time to chat and make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
