Port Navas Yacht Club Bar & Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We had a great Sunday roast here and I’d thoroughly recommend it. Book if you can because they are, understandably, busy. The rare roast beef was stunning, the Yorkshire pudding was delicious and the roast potatoes (which restaurants sometimes struggle to get right) were spot on. The side vegetable dishes were gorgeous too so this is also great food for vegetarians. The trifle pudding was sumptuous, as were the chocolate fondant and the white chocolate fudge, which I definitely didn’t need but ordered anyway. Our waitress was charming and attentive and the atmosphere was one of happiness and joy, made even better given the tranquil backdrop of the beautiful Helston river. It made us really happy going here. Go, I’m sure it will make you happy too.

I was lucky enough to stay near here and so ate twice, one takeaway and one in the restaurant. The service is second to none, although a popular spot with locals and sailors, so a good idea to pre book. The food is fantastic, a little fusion and different dishes depending on the season. I had ceviche which was outstanding and a beautifully cooked lamb dish. The calamari was so good I had two plates and the chocolate Fondant was just perfect. Such a lovely place to sit on a summers evening.

Lovely restaurant by the beautiful Helford river we had freshly made pizza that were delicious, would definitely come back. Service was excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.

From the minute we walked in on the Thursday afternoon as visitors to the area, we were warmly greeted by Melissa. She made us very welcome and so much so that we went back on the Friday and the Saturday. As she said our attendance was excellent! This place is fantastic, we had dinner on the Saturday night, all we can say is wow! The food and service was outstanding. Again a special mention to Melissa, friendly, warm and unflappable and also to Maddie, a lovely young lady with a fantastic attitude. We didn’t meet the chefs but these people know their stuff, if you’re ever in the area definitely go, you won’t be disappointed, thank you as well for my birthday pudding, so kind. A birthday and evening to remember. We are already planning our next visit to this beautiful part of Cornwall just for the Yacht Club.

Cosy ambience, utterly yummy food and wine.. really lovely staff. Cannot recommend enough! This is a total gem of a place!

We wondered if the "Yacht Club" might be a bit snobby ! Not at all ...we were well looked after by Melissa and her team, in a beautiful location and a very friendly atmosphere...some lovely interraction with the locals. What a lovely spot! So worth a visit. Everything about this place, we loved. The atmosphere, the people who work there, the menu choices, the food! Ah just amazing! Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Five of us ate here on Saturday evening and enjoyed a terrific meal amidst a warm and friendly ambience. The food was exceptional and the service professional and charming. We were staying at ‘Rocky Waters’, in the village from which the bar and restaurant is a very short walk and I understand that Melissa has only taken over recently, she’s doing a fabulous job!

What a lovely quirky little restaurant in the most peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The meal was first class and the service was very friendly. Would highly recommend this place but book in advance.

Very pleasant, great atmosphere. There was 6 of us and it's a cosy place so definitely worth booking in advance. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked, and everyone else loved their mains, especially the cauliflower and almond curry. All starters and desserts were delicious and great choice of drinks.

We really liked it here. A great place to have a drink at the end of the day. A yacht club that really does look and feel like a pub restaurant when it gets dark. The dreamy surroundings help to make it something special though

A quirky little place. Small inside and not much seating outside. That said, the service and food are excellent. A group of six of us enjoyed a really nice dinner here whilst on holiday in Port Navas.

A great way to end a day on the water. The food is really delicious - I had Vietnamese Lemongrass chicken, but others were equally happy with their locally sourced Sausages. Good wine list - especially for such a tiny place. The staff couldn't have been more helpful when our guests were delayed - holding food back in the kitchen until they arrived. Another great evening at PNYC!

A Saturday night (booked) meal for the family turned out to be perfect. The Club is a cute and friendly place with plenty of visitors by land and sea coming and going. The food menu is not extensive, but what they do they do very well. We enjoyed a couple of lamb dishes which were really superb. The kids had sausages and chips but the quality of the sausages was well above the norm (from a local farm) and they loved them. The fish was very fresh and a large cut. All washed down with a delightful Cretan wine. A beautiful location, very friendly and informed management and staff. We will be back!

Staff are friendly enough but the attitude of the new management stinks. Very unhelpful and unprofessional. The restaurant is okay, portions are rather small for the prices being charged and again the management are not exactly the most friendly or helpful bunch of characters. In fact they seem to do their best to make you feel unwelcome rather than welcome. All told a very strange experience and I won't be going back ever again.

A friendly atmosphere, pleasant, prompt service and really excellent food from a varied menu: what else is there to say? The Asparagus Bruschetta starter was so delicious I was tempted to order it for dessert too! Well cooked hake, delicious, fresh crab cakes, roasted apricot fool and yummy pancakes. This place was recommended to us by friends who live nearby. Well worth a (long) detour.

This was our first visit to the yacht club having received a recommendation from friends. We were delighted with what we found. From the lovely warm welcome to the great ambience and the excellent food we couldn't have been more impressed. So pleased to have such a good restaurant just 10 minutes from our doorstep. We will definitely return and would urge others to try it out.

Booked a table for a Friday night, had a very pleasant evening. 3rd visit in as many years. Food was excellent and service friendly and efficient, would certainly book again on our next visit .

The restaurant and bar have recently re-opened with new management after seasonal closure. The food is delicious, interesting and very reasonably priced. I had prawn and chickpea fritters to start, tamarind marinated hangar steak with skinny fries and salad, and ginger pudding with caramelised apple sauce to follow. All delicious! The atmosphere is friendly and cosy and buzzing. A great evening out with friends!

We ate here on a Saturday night and were extremely pleased with the meal that we had with friends. The premises are quite small and, in a way, shabbily chic but the food was absolutely excellent and the staff very friendly, creating a very relaxed and informal atmosphere which did not detract from the excellent food at an extremely competitive prices.

Delicious culinary experience on the Helford River. A must try for foodies. Exciting & varied menu changes everyday. Alex sources quality local produce and unusual ingredients (e.g. smoked sturgeon!), then cooks to perfection using wood ovens.

Very nice food in a cosy atmosphere. Not the most spacious or luxurious place but that only adds to the charm. Good selection on the menu and will defiantly be going again very soon.

Staying here at a nearby cottage for a few days and found this little gem of a place. We went to their curry evening and it was really lovely - very well done. Small enough to be friendly and chatty. Nice wines. Totally unexpected gem of a place! Delightful!

We had dinner here twice whilst staying in Port Navas. Good food cooked to order and very friendly service from Steve and Co. Good music on a Friday night but check as to when open in the Winter.

Wonderfull food at the right price, Wonderfull people running the restaurant and club, Wonderfull atmosphere and good beer. What more can i say.

I've not eaten here but it has a lovely little outdoor terrace for drinks with stunning views, friends have tried the food and would recommend it although they did find it pricey

Stunning location, small, friendly dining area. I had the hake which was absolutely delicious and my partner had the mackerel which was superb! We cannot recommend this place highly enough! Fantastic scenery, mouth watering food and welcoming staff.

Lovely riverside location on Port Navas creek. Friendly service. Hake with chorizo was delicious but steak was disappointing for the price.
