Just visited The Temple for the first time. It was fantastic in every way. The food was probably the best food we’ve eaten in a restaurant. We had the hake and the lamb. The service was great and the girls very friendly and professional. The ambience was really chilled, decor relaxing. Would highly recommend.

We took a special friend to Temple, and were SO pleased we did! The food, mostly vegetarian (although we all opted for the slow roast lamb main) was simple, locally sourced and absolutely delicious! Such beautiful flavours !!!The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere casual , which we like. Tbh , we can not wait to return!

A delicious meal and good value overall for the food. Though the scallops were not the best value. The wine I chose was not available so selected a more expensive bottle but server was not super knowledgeable. Would absolutely complement the dishes with excellent flavours and textures, though service was not quite up to the same level as the food.

We had a lovely lunch here. Gluten free options were provided and the staff were very attentive. Great care is taken over ingredients and presentation. Their home made kimchi was delicious. There was a relaxed family friendly atmosphere without compromising on food quality. Would definitely go again.

Terrible, avoid with allergies.. Went for dinner, my husband has a severe nut allergy and so on arrival we checked that would be ok, as lots of the options contained nuts. We were told initially that the fish pesto dish did not contain nuts, only to be told by another staff member that it did. We were told they would make adjustments, when the fish arrived it seemed to me that my husband was given the nut version and I had the nut free version. We were told that was not the case, my husband started eating but it was clear he had the version with nuts. I called another staff member over who confirmed he had the nut version. We panicked but luckily after some antihistamines he was ok. If he would have eaten anymore than his first bite he could have been seriously ill. We've eaten in lots of different restaurants over the years and never had a problem. It was clear they didn't have adequate systems in place or give sufficient attention and care to looking after those with allergies.

The food, service, and atmosphere was all absolutely outstanding. My girlfriend is gluten intolerant, and they were able to immediately identify what dishes could be adapted. Every course was exceptional, and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bude!

Quirky restaurant really enjoyed the 3 starters that came with the set menu (Especially the asparagus). For the mains my husband ordered the Grilled Hogget and I ordered the Hake both lovely. I would reccomend picking out a couple of the small plates and desserts to get the most of the experience and really get a variety of flavours (The Sourdough bread pudding + Rubarb + Dulce de leche was Fantastic) I would 100% go again if we are ever in Bude in the future. Definitely book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

First time here and we were really impressed by the range and quality of the dishes. We only had to choose our main meal as 3 starters and 2 sides were included in the price. Everything was delicious and the staff really welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere.

Ate at Temple last nighy with my wife for our anniversary (children free). Service from Ollie was lovely, he was attentive, endearing and added to the relaxed and charming experience. As a young local lad he spoke confidently and was a real credit to the venue. The food was incredible, im not a huge foodie and ate things on the menu i would never choose but the flavours were amazing. It was a real treat! I would definitely recommend!

The bill was extremely expensive for iwhat was served. I have no objection to paying for a nice or even a mediocre meal but when the best part of the meal was the lettuce and the potatoes I felt very annoyed. It was a set menu costing £38.00 a head. The starters were Cucumber, different types of beetroot, and heretage tomatoes. For the main course my husband had Pork and I had the Hake Both portions were very small and the sides were lettuce and some very nice potatoes. We both felt that the price for this kind of meal was extortionate.

Overpriced. Food is not that great and choice is limited. The place is small making it very loud when full of people. We spent over 130£ for 2 adult and one kid.

I had dinner at Temple restaurant. The place is really nice with a nice ambience. Serving staff were pretty attentive and very friendly. Server insisted on explaining the menu as it was "confusing", when it wasn't really. The set menu includes all 3 vegan starters, a choice of main courses, and includes sides. All you need to do is pick a main course and decide if you want any extra small plates. Starters were excellent, especially considering I don't normally eat beetroot or raw tomatoes, and I ate all of them. The cucumber starter was however described by the server as smashed avocado. For main course I had the pork collar with spiced walnut. The meat was a little fatty in places and sauce was fairly bland in my opinion. Kimchi mac and cheese croquette (an extra small plate) was very creative however, and delicious. Portion sizes of the side plates was a little off. I had 5 potatoes to myself (too many) but noted that a table of 3 nearby only had 6 between them (probably not enough). Large glass of wine felt like a generous portion and came in a carafe. All in all it was a nice evening, and with a few little tweaks could easily be 5 star

Been wanting to come to Temple for a long time, and it didn’t disappoint. Service was excellent and very accommodating as we turned up without a booking. The music and decor were perfectly in tune with the general vibe of the place, and the food was simply outstanding. Excellent value for money and a wonderful experience. Thank you to all at Temple for a glorious evening. X

Not recommend this place for visiting! We took the table and after 5 minutes stuff told us that it is booked, but no reserved signs on it, and no-one informed us before.

First visit for a long time - food was excellent: a great selection of fresh, interesting ingredients and a good selection of mains. Friendly and attentive service. A real treat.

What a beautiful restaurant. Relaxed, charming and special. A stunning, locally sourced and in season style menu. Some of the veggie dishes are the best I’ve ever tasted. Cocktails are also superb. Highly, highly recommend if you’re a foodie looking for somewhere a bit special but informal for an eve meal.

The food is very fresh and delicious flavours, just portions a little small, and I wasn't keen on burnt toast and then being told that's was the breads fault

Lovely restaurant with a great menu. Very happy to adapt pretty much any of the dishes to be vegan ( most of the menu was veggie) really great adaptations and super tasty food. We also bought a vegan carrot cake to take away which was super tasty. Beautiful decor and really friendly service

Had a wonderful meal on Sunday night, whilst on holiday. Really unusual menu, loved the 3 vegetable starters that all come together. We had the local lobster and hake, plus additional scallops and pickled clams. All beautifully cooked and really unusual flavours. Rounded of with bread and butter and chia puddings - both cold and very different to what we expected, but fabulous. Thoroughly recommend this restaurent, if you want something a little different. Staff very friendly and helpful.

8 of us came for a group outing on a Saturday night for dinner. We had wonderful service and were genuinely thrilled with every dish on the menu. The set menu works perfectly and every dish was a highlight. Great veggie and vegan options alongside seasonal meat and fish which made the whole thing great for everyone there. The service was so friendly and accommodating.

I almost never write online reviews but our meal yesterday evening was exceptional. We started with raw gurnard in a cup of hash browns with a delicious lightly acidic dressing, and a generous plate of braised asparagus. The perfectly-cooked hogget (neck fillets, we think) came with abundant and imaginative vegetables, too many to describe. Although by then we were better than well fed, we couldn't resist two amazing puds. The service was prompt, charming, and attentive. We have sampled the evolution of the Temple over several years and are delighted that they now have a 2024 Michelin mention.

Probably the best restaurant I’ve ever dined at. My partner and i were in Bude for only one night and we are so happy we stumbled upon temple. While it’s on the Michelin guide book i think it deserves a full star as its better food and service than a number of Michelin star restaurants. I love the concept of highlighting vegetables and having three vegetarian dishes to share among the table. It’s been months since we ate here and i still remember we had harissa tomatoes, courgette with whipped ricotta and leeks with hummus all were amazing. For mains we had lobster and pork with potatoes and salad served for us to share again. The portions were generous and the price was right. All the food was local within a short radius. Everything we ate was delicious. The staff was friendly and created a welcoming ambience. This restaurant is a gem! I would go back to Bude specifically to eat here.

It looks unpretentious but the food is superb. Interesting, unusual, wonderful combination of flavours and textures. One of the best meals I have ever had. And an unexpected find in a small, fairly isolated coastal town out of season.

Great lunch with two small children. Delicious food, especially the pulled pork focaccia special. Great service and friendly staff. Very accommodating to children (they eat free at lunch!). Very close to the beach. Highly recommended during a visit to Bude.

Temple A cute little restaurant and bar with a terrace in Bude , Cornwall . The spicy margarita needs a special mention. There was a good selection of wines too . The monk fish was cooked to perfection.. it literally melted in the mouth .. Incredible! Loved everything that came to the table . Service was fab too ! If in Bude, pls do visit Temple .. Myself and wife were caught in the rain today with our sixteen week old baby boy. Hungry and a bit disheveled we walked into Temple. Not only were the staff welcoming, but they offered to lift our pram inside from the damp which was incredibly kind. Once warmed up we picked our courses and were not left disappointed. My wife is still talking about the monkfish curry. Also there is apparently a baby group at Temple on Thursday. This place appears to tick all the right boxes.

Pork belly was genuinely interesting and tasty. The scallop was nice. Other dishes were really not up to much. The herby flat bread was cold, a bit tough, and too greesy and rich. Unfortunately, tomatoes won't give a balance if they are unripe and flavourless. The roasted Peppers was just oily cooked Peppers. We were also brought this out late, so we had them on their own. The fritters were not very nice in flavour or texture. We were told two plates and bread would fill us, but they did not, so we went and had pizza after. Their signage is a bit naff too, multiple people came upstairs before realising they needed to go back down, and just as we were arriving a couple was leaving because they assumed it was closed because there is a closed side door that looks like it could be an entrance when approach from the back street.

I can’t rate this place highly enough. We were totally blown away by the food. It’s like the best of ottolenghi at half the price and hardly anyone knowing about it. The side dishes were so unassuming but to die for (I’ll be dreaming of the hazelnut green beans), my hake was delicious and i don’t know where to start with the chocolate mousse. Every wine or cocktail we had was delicious and service perfect. Just wish I lived near Bude! Thank you for such a great evening

Second time here. Good quality food. Bit of an extended wait between small plate starters and main. Smoked pork tenderloin was a great addition, loved the mint. Hake with tamarind was brilliant. Monkfish tails with tomoto and mojo de ajo also top notch.

Went to eat here on our mini honeymoon and it could not have been better. Delicious cocktails and wine with food that was perfect on every way. We will be returning 100%. Thanks to the whole team.

Schönes Restaurant und ausgesprochen gutes Essen. Leider sind die Timeslots eher knapp bemessen. Weswegen wir - als wir den letzten Bissen des Desserts gegessen hatten - sofort gebeten wurden, den Tisch zu verlassen, damit sich die nächste Gruppe setzen kann. Gegen Ende ging es also etwas hektisch zu und wir mussten unser Getränk rasch austrinken. Achtung - wer mit Karte zahlen möchte, muss es hier mit einer Kreditkarte tun. Andere Karten werden nicht akzeptiert.

Amazing experience! Food was excellent and tweeked to our dietary requirements perfectly. Staff extremely tentative to our needs and very friendly . Tastes were exquisite and a great choice for omnis from a set menu. Vegan choices only one for main and one for desert , fortunately it was something I really enjoyed, but another option would be great . Only one downside was non diners coming in from outside to use the toilet , some were scantily clad on the way to a night out . This felt awkward whilst trying to enjoy the ambiance and lovely surroundings . Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Very good cake. Lunch was tasty but £15 for a single slice of pork belly that came entirely on its own is not good value, one should get some vegetables for that price. Vegetables not on menu which was odd, had to nick some of my wife's salad.

Tastefully designed interior with a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all lovely and attentive. The food was creative, fresh and made the absolute most of some humble ingredients. My partner had the Hake which was sublime and the yuzu panna cotta was top notch! We liked the set menu concept but thought the mains could offer a little bit more variation, the two vegetarian mains (of which I had the celeriac) sounded quite similar in nature and neither of us eat Pork - perhaps one more option would do it justice! Overall, we loved the setting, the vibe and the food and if we lived closer we would be back for sure.

What am amazing foodie experience! The 3 starters were all excellent. The main course was delicious, the dessert perfect. Small place that does not look like a fancy restaurant but the quality of the food is stunning (and as a French guy, I am not easily satisfied by English food). One small tip to the owner to be even better: grow your wine list a little bit ;-)

Absolutely fantastic food and wine. We’re vegan and they catered for us with the most wonderful menu, full of fresh veg and creativity. The flatbread, radish and sunflower paste, and the kimchi pickled veg were divine.

I went to Temple twice while visiting. They have a vegan and vegetarian friendly menu while also allowing a farm to table meat selection. The menu is smaller but the options are all delicious. The desserts are also the best in the area.

Food was amazing, restaurant itself has a clean and welcoming feel, front of house were the best and really helpful. A gem.
