Met up with a couple of friends for a girlie lunch . We were shown to a great table not rushed at all . Had a great choice of wine and drinks for us and we choose lots of things to share as we gossiped . It was clean and tidy and all staff we encountered were friendly especially Penni the manager . Such a shame it’s closing we will have to find a new place to lunch . Thank you

In the late 1990s The Swan was the best pub restaurant for miles around. The food was excellent as was the service and the couple who ran it were very hands on. Sadly they sold and The Swan was bought by a brewery chain and moved from great to not so great to actually terrible. It was a real shame. We went once just before Christmas and there was one other couple dining. This in a pub that used to be packed. To add insult to what is a lovely old building in a beautiful village, the pub was badly redone inside and painted outside a sort of sludge green. Now thankfully The Swan has been sold again and bought by a young couple with good experience. Of course you can’t change everything overnight but the food on the Sunday we went was superb and the service getting back to where it should be. Long may it continue to improve.

Food was sublime and excellent service. The outdoors was a great setting to eat and drink. Very good varied menu with plenty of choice

Called up the restaurant using the number provided on here but was told the restaurant is now called Lucky Star - that should have been my red flag. Anyway, placed my order and went to pick it up and what do you know? The chicken was rancid. I did not want to believe it, why would a restaurant with so many great reviews give me rancid salt and pepper chicken? But alas, I could not deceive myself even if I tried - I had been given chicken that had gone OFF cleverly coated in spring onions and chillies. Why for all that is good would you guys do something so obviously bad? Have you no conscience? Are you dead inside? Is money all that matters to you? Do you wish me dead? Is everything else rancid as well or is it just the chicken? ANSWER ME!!!

Only down side (from my point of view ) is that they don't allow dogs in. So when walking my dog I will always get my coffee from the pub down the road.

Have been going to the fleece for years and it has always been alright, the pub side of the restaurant is great but the food is letting it down. The prices have gone up and the portions have gotten very small, not to mention it all tasted the same. The starters used to be my favourite part of the meal, but felt like I was eating an overpriced takeaway, beige and bland. Overall a very expensive and disappointing dinner.

Very expensive for the 'small breakfast' option. The food was barely warm and served on cold plates. The produce was poor quality. The coffees were expensive and tasteless, which was surprising as they were served in Costa mugs so therefore you'd presume they were Costa beans. Very disappointing and we won't be back.

TAKEAWAY Hard, dry onion bhaji. Poppadoms tasted as if they were cooked in old oil. Overly sweet massala. Dhal overcooked. Bombay potatoes bland. Chicken cooked well tho’!

What should have been a pleasant coffee interlude, in a busy day, was marred by what I regarded as a lecture I received about what type of coffee I had ordered. I requested an Americano with cold milk and was bluntly told by the barista that they were called Espresso's "here". He repeated this. Since I have a foreign accent, I'm not quite sure what "here" he meant. I felt he was rude.

Decided to go out for breakfast with wife and daughter now she's off for Christmas from work Very small cafe with limited space to eat and chat if I'm honest. We waiting by the door and was escorted to a nice clean fresh table with fresh clear cutlery, no music playing which was a real treat given the time of the year. Wife and my daughter ordered sausage sandwich and I had the breakfast with my tomato swapped out for mushrooms Food came out fast with clean well set out plates but it was tasteless if I'm honest Beans were in a very small pot, toast was tiny slices but with butter so can't really moan at that as most places forget the butter Sausages for all of us were the real issue, felt like they were microwaved when you eat them and not seen any real heat as they were the same colour as the white walls 🙄 Daughters iced coffee was so full of ice that had not real liquid in it unfortunately as the girth of the glass was so thin I paid and probably will not be back as food undercooked at best but amount was good. But the way it was worded on the menu gave the impression it's a "BIG" breakfast... Definitely not that!

We love to come here for a coffee and snack with our dog Maisy. It’s not cheap but the quality is good …. but the irritating problem is that their kitchen lacks the simple ability to work efficiently and multitask the basic orders. If you just order toast and a drink and the previous customers ordered cooked breakfast then you will get your drink at the counter and over the next 15 or 20 minutes you will sit and wait for your toast while the precious breakfasts are cooked and prepared!!! …. by which time your coffee is either cold or finished Any person who has any sense would know that you get the fast straight forward orders out as soon as possible whilst working on the more complicated orders … similarly the only breakfast items that require last minute cooking are eggs and the other items can be cooked and held when you are busy This restaurant is full of customers finishing their drinks whilst waiting for their food order. Only once has our toast arrived when we still had our drink in hand. I said to my wife this morning that we should order our toast and then after 15 minutes go up and get our drinks …. simples …. but it shouldn't be that way! Get your act together Notcutts

First visit here for lunch whilst en route to Winkworth Arboretum. Left with very mixed feelings. It's in a nice location with attractive interior decor but... Completely agree with other reviews regarding staff. The girl on the till came to take our order about 3 seconds after we'd sat down; she didn't seem to have a clue how to use the tablet for orders and spent most of her time standing around doing nothing whilst the guy in the kitchen did all the work. As a result we ended up having to wait ages for our food. We ordered quiche + 2 salads and sausage roll + 2 salads. The food was ok but charging £12 for that is outrageous! And to make matters worse, they allow dogs inside and my lunch was ruined by 3 tiny, stinky dogs arriving at the table behind me. In my view, dogs should not be allowed inside where people are eating - it is so unhygienic. Leave them outside! There are better, cheaper cafes around so I suggest you seek them out.

Rude member of staff claimed this cafe was “a business, not a hangout spot”. Lashed out at a customer for not directly handing him the cash instead placing it on the counter, it made him feel like a “peasant”. Not the service we were expecting. Plenty of other cafes in godalming to go to.

at first seemed good, food seat and menu, dogs allowed, went to order and it appeared I had picked up an old menu so was quizzed quiet rudely by an older woman as to where I had got that from, I pointed to the table where all the menu's were. Finally ordered and paid and then food arrived, baguettes were actually very nice and an attempt at presentation with a few crisps, lettuce leaves (some brown) and tomato, the cheesy chips looked and according to my son tasted good my daughters wrap was disappointing and a little stale around the edges. The Mochas were not stirred so all the chocolate was at the bottom of the cup, not the best lunch and won't be rushing back!
