The Manor Inn in Waverley

Met up with a couple of friends for a girlie lunch . We were shown to a great table not rushed at all . Had a great choice of wine and drinks for us and we choose lots of things to share as we gossiped . It was clean and tidy and all staff we encountered were friendly especially Penni the manager . Such a shame it’s closing we will have to find a new place to lunch . Thank you

Had an incredible breakfast at the Manor with my father. We both loved it! Great choice of bits from the continental, and the hot breakfast arrived quickly! Staff were friendly and welcoming too, absolutely spot on!

Came in last weekend with the kids for a Sunday roast, the food was amazing, hot and on time. Service was great as always, the staff are always polite and attentive. Absolutely love this place and always recommend to family and friends.

Came in with the kids for a Sunday Lunch, welcomed at the desk, seated quickly, waitress Erica was lovely, very attentive and took our order promptly, food and drinks arrived in good time, all food was hot, was cooked perfectly, tasted amazing thanks to the chef's Ed and Vicky. Also great value for money. Puddings all arrived in good time after ordering and were delicious!!! Love coming here, love the staff, the food and the atmosphere! Thank you all for another wonderful experience!

Lovely friendly staff, good breakfast. Only small thing room 11 had a bit of a funny smell, perhaps you need to check it out. Would use the hotel again.

The waiter had on a filthy shirt and trousers. The lamb roast meat was served cold and the meat was cut in round shapes and chargrilled?? The gravy was orange and very oily and tasted awful. I could not eat any of it except the potatoes and 1 small piece of parsnip. Absolutely awful and left me feeling queasy for hours afterwards!

Everyone enjoyed their time at the Beefeater. The children loved the set menus and my husband enjoyed the Lasagne. It was good value for money and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would recommend the Manor to family and friends.

Great value for money place for casual lunch with kids. Lots to choose from for kids at a great price, any extras are reasonably priced too.

Service was quick and professional. Food/steak was cooked as requested. Drinks came very promptly from ordering them.

Food is fairly average chain restaurant food but service is so slow

The food was reasonably good but the service was absolutely dreadful. We waited so long we very nearly got up and left. The only thing that stopped us was we would have been too late for lunch.

Food was ok and service wasn't too bad. However the restaurant its self wasnt very clean, blinds were filthy, carpets worn peeling paintwork, so overall impression not great. We were told by waiting staff that restaurant & hotel were up for sale so doubt anthing will be done to spruce it up.

We visited last week for our wedding anniversary. We had a live quiet table . We were not rushed and our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable as we asked a few questions about the food . The food was hot tasty and choice was good . The desserts were good too

Food and drink were served promptly. We were made to feel.welcome by the manager, who came over to seat us within a minute of arriving. All of our party enjoyed the meal and would recommended to everyone to try out this Beefeater. We will definitely will be coming back as soon as possible 😊

If I could give 0 stars I would! Came Saturday afternoon for my husbands birthday. Food was so poor and 2 prawns for £5! Never mind expensive. Seriously I think our birthday meal ruined the whole day and this is despite the restaurant being completely empty other than our party of 10. Guess that says alot about an establishment. We had issues here before but thought we would give it another go. Maybe they should think about closing down and letting harvester take over here. Will never visit beefeater godalming again. Poor.

I came here with my family 13/1/24 and it was nothing short of a lovely meal out. The food was cooked to perfection and the drinks we ordered were great. One came out a little strong for my taste but they were more than happy to tip it up to exactly how I liked it! I’ll be returning very soon!

Booked for Sunday lunch 7 of us. Pluses the staff were friendly and welcoming the drinks came pretty quickly and my daughter could use her discount card. It wasn't that busy when we arrived but still waited quite some time for the food, mostly good apart from the peas they were not great. In summary not bad but could have been better.

Decided to have Christmas dinner here, the menu looked great and at £63ish per head plus 20% service charge I was expecting some really good food. Barman just looked at us upon arrival and didn't alert anyone we were waiting. Watched people order drinks at the bar but when I went up I was told I couldn't order at the bar. Not sure when we got a drink. Starters were terrible! Scallops the size of a pound coin and like bullets, I had never tried them before and was really excited to try them, prawns also like bullets. Fondue tasted really bad and weird. Main courses were overcooked and mine was burnt. Whoever was cooking didn't have a clue, they may have been on their own, but I'd rather wait for quality, I don't know how they had the nerve to send that food out! No chance of a remake as only ordered enough to complete pre-booked orders. When I say I've had better quality food in a Spoons or MacDonalds I'm not exaggerating. Didn't eat pudding, was too put off with the first two courses. My family was so disappointed. Don't think I'd ever go to a Beefeater again, or eat out at Christmas. Well done to the server, really nice chap, just overwhelmed maybe, didn't see him much but was super apologetic and polite.

I was unfortunate enough to visit this establishment with my family a party of 11 on 27 December. I am only giving 1 star as I am unable to give 0 stars to be able to review. I checked the week before that food would be available, which was confirmed, I also checked dogs were welcome, I was told they were in the bar, so again I checked food would be available in the bar, I was told it would be. I wasn’t told to book ahead or given any indication at all that there would be any possibility that food wouldn’t be available. On arrival your large barman just stared at the 2 dogs in our party and just said, “dogs in the corner, right in the corner, over there”. No warm greeting, not even a hello. Our party ordered drinks and some picked up menus, he then said “no point in looking at those, we’re fully booked, we’re not doing food in the bar”, had we not already got drinks we would have left there and then, I’ve never felt so unwelcome. He questioned if my daughters were alright when they went to the bar numerous times for refills. There were about 10 cars in the car park of which 4 were ours. There were 2 other people in the bar and very few other people in the restaurant in the 2 hours we were there. I’m confused as to where all these people who were supposedly booked in were. I’m more annoyed than anything I had the foresight to check before hand that food would be available and that dogs were welcome to then turn up and find no food was available , and dogs really weren’t that welcome, in fact none of us felt very welcome at all. Your large barman is very rude, he’s not doing you any favours at all. None of our party will be returning and I will be making it very clear to anyone who will listen how awful our experience was. If anyone wants to contact me to discuss this further I am keen to give details.

Horrible staff Rude Used to be dog friendly Walked in with a dog and very rudely was told to get out. I understand changing to being no longer dog friendly and telling us politely would have been fine. But to rudely tell us to get out was unnecessary

We were one of three tables on a Saturday night. My order wasn't the meal that I ordered and we had to wait almost two hours for two courses. The roast potatoes were rock hard on the outside and tasted dreadful and the veg was watery and slushy. We thought that we would give the place a chance despite hearing negative reviews to see if it had improved. It hadn't and we will not be returning.

Very slow service despite being really quiet. Food looked very bland. Burger was tasty though. I think I'll stick with Harvester next time!

Don't trust the Buffet menu!! We didn't get what was advertised.

Very welcoming, friendly staff, very clean. My Mum was cold so they turned the air con off. Lovely food, would return and recommend. You do need to register your car if you have driven.

My friends and I ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious . It is very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. l highly recommend it.

Popped in on a Saturday morning for a very pleasant cooked breakfast. Order as much as you can eat, with continental options too; ideal when the wife was going to a local park run.

I really enjoyed my Manor inn beefeater experience,the service was excellent, accommodating without being over bearing, the waiter gave me good advice on what steaks were available and how they are cooked.The steak itself was cooked perfectly to how I like them,I will definitely recommend the Manor Inn to my friends and family

Lovely place first time there Mrs had a belated birthday voucher good excuse to get out of cooking, waitress was attentive and barman was helpful all staff were so nice the place was clean and food so nice. Plenty of parking Well worth visiting

Something went horribly wrong when we visited... We were seated quickly and drinks orders taken then we waited... And waited... And waited for our food order to be taken... Then we waited and waited and waited for our food - which showed signs of having waited itself for rather too long. Some of the dishes were incomplete. Didn't mention it as we were just glad to eat at last. Didn't order dessert as we didn't want to wait even longer. We were there for 2h30, sitting in cool breeze from the A/C, and understandably disappointed with what is normally a reliable venue.

Glasses drinks are served in were dirty, ribs were dry, had to get remade. Overall experience not great, so wouldn't recommend. I can buy Sainsburys ribs and cook I my own oven and have better.

Sat in the garden near the river. Was very nice and relaxing. Great it's got the kids play area to keep them entertained!

I ate here as I was staying in the adjoining Premier Inn on business. The staff behind the bar were really friendly and even though there was a mistake with my meal it was quickly dealt with and they couldn't have been more accommodating.

We had the Premier Inn breakfast here. The staff were really welcoming, lovely with our three children and just in general couldn’t do enough for us. The service was quick (it really is ‘all you can eat’ here, and not just ‘all you can put up with waiting for’) and the food was fresh and tasty - we’ve had plenty of dodgy hotel full English breakfasts, so it’s great to get a really decent one. Very relaxed atmos. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Not my first time here and once again not disappointed!! Lovely friendly staff, who are always attentive, always happy. Very covid safe, sanitiser available, asked to check in usibg NHS app. Masks worn by all staff. Food was amazing and served in good time. Very reasonably priced. Never had an issue here and I love it! Highly recommend.

To start off the staff was very very slow and incompetent. Extremely slow. 4 people were chatting while only one bartender was taking orders for 7 people. 15 minutes to place an order. Then 30 minutes to receive the meal. The fries were great, but the lettuce was old and had gone off. The chicken was not cooked properly.Staff wears masks 1/2 way. Either wear them, or don't bother with pestering the clients.The ceramic pots in the back garden were full of cigarette butts, another example of lazzy staff.I asked a staff if we could sit in the back garden and was immediately told "wait a minute" while she went on to chit chat with someone else.. Apparently they can't just say " Yes" or "No" to clients. The staff is so slow respond to anything except asking patrons to use the NHS trace app.Recommend to avoid this dirty spot with lazy, inconsiderate staff.

Greated by lovely staff Jason and Tendi, had the place to myself. Service was efficient and safe. Had a cooked breakfast which was lovely. Bacon cooked just right and the fried eggs were perfect. The cook was a lovely lady and very helpful. As I was after direction she went out of her way to help me. Overall very happy. The staff are a credit to you. 10/10.

A lovely meal at the manor inn beefeater. Even though due to covid they were super busy and under staffed, Penni was still able to ensure we had everything we needed at all times and did this with a smile on her face. The smiley Penni made sure that we felt like part of the family and due to this we will be returning very soon!!!

Really friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere & lovely food. Good sensible covid arrangements in place. Was lovely to go out for a meal once again. We will come back to enjoy the garden when the sun is shining.

We have eaten here a few times and its always been a lovely experience. We booked a table for a pre-christmas meal (a way to get the family into a nice festive mood), and as expected the staff were super friendly and the food was good. Thank you for giving us a sense of (safe) normality in such odd times!

The life of a travelling businessman is a lonely one... staying in hotels and eating alone... But it was alright here! I had a nice steak and a bottle of red and the world seemed like a better place.

We meet here regularly as half way and never disappoints. We were greated by a lady who obvioulsy recognised us and welcomed us back and asked if we were well. The place was warm , clean and safety measures in place as last couple of times. Food was hot and tasty as usual and we didnt have to wait long at all. We had a great catch up not rushed out we will be back next month.

Went for our first dinner out since the new covid rules so was a little nervous. Was met at the door by penny who explained the rules and took us to our table. Service was really quick considering it was busy and the food was great. Can't wait to bring the family here again as the team made us feel so welcome and at home

My second time eating here and I wasn't disappointed. I was guided in with all the covid information for the place which made me feel safe. Bit of a pain to only be able to take the mask off at my table but needs must!Great service from the gentleman who seated me and beautiful waitress, the food was just what I needed after a long day.

Visited with friends and experienced the most unfriendly member of staff. Rushed us to order and eat quickly as she wanted to ‘cash up and go home‘. Food average but her attitude towards us was unforgivable. In times like these you would hope that such businesses would appreciate custom not resent anyone coming to spend money. I have to say that other staff were welcoming but sadly this didn’t make up for it. Will NEVER return.

First evening meal out since lockdown with two young children and we had a lovely evening. Food was delicious, staff were polite and helpful and all Covid measures were followed, we will back again soon.

We went into the Beefeater today for a family meal. We were greeted in a welcoming manner and the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and were even very patient with my fussy little one! We were also very impressed with the Covid-19 measures that they have put in place. We felt very relaxed and enjoyed our visit. We will be returning.

So disappointed and upset with the way my family were greeted on arrival (and It was by the Manager!)My family had made two separate bookings For two tables (due to the restrictions of 6).We had been to our grandmothers funeral (I had driven 4hrs that day from my home to Godalming).Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Manager and when my uncle said we were the two bookings, we got a very abrupt and rude response.We were told “I’m telling you now! that the other table will not be coming in here today”.The conversations went on for a while whilst trying to get resolved and the Manager carried on being abrupt and rude to put faces.They said they had called the mobile number on two occasions that morning to explain they would only take one table booking. We didn’t receive those calls because the mobile number they had tried was clearly none of ours so the number must have been written down incorrectly and they had spoken with someone else.They could have dealt with the matter in a bit more of a respectful and dignified way.Will never try and go there ever again.We ended up at the Inn on the Shore in Godalming which was lovely.

The Manor used to be a good bet for breakfast, or later in the day for a pint of something or a coffee. Not so now. No doubt the pandemic has something to do with it, but service is poor and some of the staff are ill prepared for any request that is out of the ordinary. It may well be that the wrong staff have been made redundant. I look forward to a big improvement when circumstances change

My business parter and I met here as a half way point for our business meeting. We were given a perfect table for our occasion and the manager was extremely helpful and polite. The food was hot and quick for the time we had and very tasty.

My family has been coming to this Beefeater for years and always had enjoyable meals. However the last couple of times have not been good. Both were in the last month and Sunday lunchtimes around 12.30pm. Both times they have been short on Sunday roasts. First time no lamb and only 5 chicken left. Today, no lamb, 4 chicken and 5 beef left. Is this just bad management of stock? Also I take issue with the menu which says ' Slow Cooked Beef' when what you get is a sliced steak. Today we asked for well done beef and got very pink. It should be the one thing that they get right every time, cooking a steak, it's a steakhouse after all. The waiter offered to take the worst one back but I wanted to eat with my family so I declined. My husband swapped his with me as it wasn't so bad but my goodness it was full of gristle. I actually bagged it up and took it home for the dog. At least she enjoyed it. On the plus side we got everything on the menu with our roasts, we normally play 'lets see what's missing today'. Puds were good, though my daughter's chocolate torte came as a mini size at full size price, but when we queried this it was removed from the bill. I expect they will say that the pandemic is to blame, that seems to be the standard answer for most things now. It is such a shame that this place has gone so downhill. I am £100 lighter in pocket but heavy hearted as I really don't know that I can face eating here again. Such a shame.

Mostly we have the Full English Breakfast at the Manor Inn. It is excellent. Cannot fault at all. The staff, especially Jason, are very helpful and friendly.

Came in for a last minute arrangement and was given a very warm welcome by the Manager. The service was quick and the food was just as we had ordered. Felt safe with all the Covid Safety measures put in place.

This was the perfect place to meet up with friends for a catch up. We were welcomed and seated by the manager and the whole evening was enjoyable with the food and drinks coming out quickly. We are hoping to come back very soon.

We were really disappointed by the garden menu. The manager was lovely and agreed we could have a burger from the normal menu outside so we were much happier. However, it arrived with no condiments - we asked for some mayo, and never saw the waiter again - good job we didn't wait to eat it! The manager was great but the staff just didn't seem to want to be there (other than one guy behind the bar with the manager - he was great)

We have come today for a drink, 7 people. Not busy at all took ages for drinks not only was it done wrong and drinks missed. The pints they made was shocking. Grumpy bar staff and doesn't have a clue what he was doing. Not exactly the friendly welcome you would expect from a recognised brand restaurant. Wish me luck if we order food.
