Fantastic pub, staff are lovely and welcoming, locals are great and fun to be around. Jukebox plays country music loads which just adds to the atmosphere. Pool table is great too, karaoke every month, venue hire and all in all a warm welcoming atmosphere Food is now in and Sunday roast is starting this week

Only use this pub for a lunchtime drink but always friendly and efficient

Visited on a Wednesday evening recently with my son who lives in Badshot Lea. We came to drink and play pool. Pub was not busy. We had such a fun and friendly welcome from a lovely lady behind the bar. Nothing was to much trouble for her. The beer was great and well priced. We enjoyed the pool games. The cricketers has a very friendly feel about it, with a great outside seating area. We had a great evening. Thank you.

Before Covid we use to visit the restaurant every few weeks. However it has gone very down hill. The booking system is ridiculous it’s a garden centre. We did not book and they very kindly offered us a table. This is our second visit since Covid and although we could not fault the staff who took our order, we were asked three times in a matter of minutes if we were ready to order. However in the kitchen there was obviously not enough staff and far too many orders for them to handle. Lots of people waiting for food and complaining about the wait. We had ordered a pizza and waited 35 minutes. We asked the waitress how much longer it would be and she confirmed around another twenty minutes, therefore we cancelled our order. Such a shame the waitress staff excellent but need to sort their staffing out in the kitchen, they looked very stressed. Unfortunately that will be our last visit.

Waitress service, friendly and quick, great value ‘pick 4,6 or 8 items’ - ordered at table then delivered to table. Lovely coffee, food was great too. Good value as well - two 6 item breakfasts and two large lattes were £25! We will be back. Off to bye bedding plants, here now!

Visited on the off chance to have a coffee and was terribly disappointed! Seated pretty quickly but took ages for someone to come and take our order and then it took ages for it to arrive. Most Tables were stacked with dirty plates etc, and it looked dreadful. Terribly understaffed for such a busy busy place.

It is several years since we were last here as we no longer live in Farnham. The restaurant has been updated since then and now has a more modern feel and decor. Staff were friendly but lunch took just over one and half hours. It wasn't clear to us why as there seemed to be enough staff but it just wasn't working well. There were waits between evey interaction, seating, ordering, each course, etc. Waiting to be seated is unnecessary - this isn't fine dining! It was really good to see that they employ staff with Downs, clearing but also serving. Prices are at the upper end of a typical cafe range. Their menu, with prices, is available on-line which is good. We both had soup (£7) as starters; this was of poor quality. Then a salad and fish & chips - both OK. Management never respond to the TA reviews; that's a great pity as there are many reviews that call for a response and action, not least as many are highly critical. Lot's of free learning for improvement. Surprisingly for a busy cafe and garden centre there are only 15 TA reviews going back to 2018 - more are needed. Toilets are modern and were clean with regular checks posted. The important Food Standards Agency Hygiene Rating is a 5, the top mark; that's excellent. So, in summary, not the best of experiences. We won't be back.

This review is specifically for the cafe. Small cupcake £3.95. I will never set foot in this dingy rip off cafe again. I saw other prospective customers walk out when they saw the prices. I wish I'd done the same. I felt so scammed that I made a conscious decision not to spend any money in the garden centre. I point blank refuse to accept these inflated prices. Never again.

The new coffee area is a bit dull in ambience but generally OK. Coffee is pretty good and service is excellent. Great parking here too.

I am giving this review not only because the pub is in great condition and I received a warm welcome. But it's so sad to be the only person in there. If we don't use our pubs then we will lose them. I would recommend that they serve tea and coffee now the cafe opposite has closed.

Appalling service. Staff poorly trained, if at all. A huge restaurant with not enough staff. One waitress when called over, actually shook her head! 25 mins wait before giving our order. The food was OK. Also absolutely furious that having booked for 2 people lunch in the restaurant. I was told this didn't include the festive menu. Apparently we had to book separately for that. No chance.

Visited today for a roast, but no roasts. Ok. Unusual for a Sunday but fair enough. I’ll have ham egg and chips (even at an extortionate £14.95). No they didn’t have that either. Hunters chicken burger? Also very expensive but not to worry, they didn’t have any. Ended up having a rather lame BLT with chewy bacon and a salad so drenched in dressing it was inedible. Four people, eating not very much and certainly nothing of any quality came to £55 and left us all in a bad mood. Staff unable to even force a smile. In the rest of the garden centre, Christmas decorations this year are not on par with past years and everything just looked cut back, yet much more expensive. We always used to like Badshot Lea but now I’d recommend going to Longacres instead.

Nice place for a beer. Plenty of room, pool table, darts board, enough choice to find a drink you'll be happy with. Also has parking.

Another pub which is protective of its parking spaces with a strange number plate system. I guess they've had issues in the past. Food is very well priced but I've not tried it, yet. Staff are always welcoming. Has a pool table that is always free when we go in. Juke box choices can get a little gritty on the ear but someone is enjoying it, or enjoying the pain it gives others. They usually have some guest ales which change fairly regularly. Worth a bash.

We got told in the coffee shop. They didn't do teacakes as that was a breakfast item never heard of this before. Had two friut scone hardly any fruit, when buttered they fell apart, it was better before they changed everything We waited over half an hour for a tea hot chocolate n cakes. Also they cleared the table but didn't wipe down

The service was extremely slow; we waited an hour for a cream tea, with a very underwhelming scone.

We recently held a small party at The Cricketers to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. The buffet was excellent value and the staff at couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Everyone had a great evening thanks to our hosts.

Midweek visit. Quiet and relaxed. Good food and attentive hosts. What more do you need? 👍

I booked a table on line the evening before for 1040am. Turned up at 1030am and was taken to our table by the manager. After browsing the menus we eventually had our order taken. We were given our drinks not long after. After 45 minutes we grabbed the attention of a staff member to find out how much longer we would have to wait. We were told about staffing levels being bad and received an apology. Finally at 1135 we got our breakfasts which thankfully were good. We decided (against our better judgement) to have another drink as our first drinks had gone ages ago. Again we waited this time for 15 minutes. We finally left at 1235pm. Having not seem my parents for a few months it did spoil the time we had together catching up as your attention waivers as you start thinking more about how long you are going to have to wait for food!

Just wanted to thank the Cricketers for laying on a wonderful lunch on Monday for the Funeral Wake. THe service and food were top class. Very impressed with the prices as well. Many thanks Annabel Young

Over priced with average at best food quality, staff obviously not happy working there or they may smile more, lovely for tea and cake but don’t bother with a meal

Got a fine for parking there. Apparently you need to scan a QR code when in the pub for the parking. Never heard of any pub in life doing this. I missed the signs and wasn’t told when at the bar. Purchased 2 drinks then left and received the parking fine. Called up the landlord who said to appeal and show proof of purchase at pub, which I did and my appeal was rejected meaning I still have to pay the fine. Think people at the bar should mention this about the car park as I have honestly never come across this at a pub car park in my life. The landlord owns the car park too so I’m not sure why he would say appeal and then reject it. Was first time trying this and I’m local, will be telling people not to bother.

Gorgeous place for coffee and cake. They were very busy and booked up for the day but were happy to seat us for coffee and cake and asked if we would mind using the QR Code to scan and order which we were happy to do. Very fast and efficient service and the cakes were amazingly good. We’ll try breakfast next time.

We queued to get in and because we hadn't booked we could only have coffee and cake we waited 10 minutes to place our order the service was rubbish. They spent 5 minutes checking if they had scones. Staff were not over friendly. 35 minutes after getting a ravle our coffee and cake arrived. A cream tea without cream and no cutlery. They don't seem know what they are doing. Thank god we didn't have a meal.

Been few times now,making it my local after work pub,must say very impressed with everyone n place is amazing,staff friendly n helpful food great,n atmosphere good too. Well recommend it

When you need a good pub sausages, eggs, chips, and beans, then nothing else will do. I've just enjoyed a really nice sausages, eggs, chips, and beans, hand delivered by the Cricketers' Landlord 😋. Really good comfort food and a nice guy too. The Cricketers has now definitely been added to my list of good local pubs.

We have just come back from having lunch at the cafe and was disappointed with both the food and service. First problem was I had a disabled person with me and parked by near the entrance in the disabled parking, once were were all out of the car and walk towards the front entrance to find they had closed the main entrance off and so we had to walk further to get into the place. Not far but it is when you can not walk very well. No signs up that u could see until you were by the original entrance. Then we had to wait in a que just to get into the cafe which was fine but there seem to be one lady taking the first people into the cafe and seating them, then she had to come back and do it all again. The whole process took way too long. Our turn was next great I thought, no menus at all we had to order vie an app, and although we are quite ok with that concept i can see it being a huge problem with someone who is not. Now the actual menu was very disappointing. No sandwich or Baggett’s just hot meals which in it self was just way too expensive. I had gammon as that was the only thing I could find to eat that I liked. I also had two children as part of the party and no children’s menu at all. I did ask and was told that the small appetites is the kids menu. Once again choice was so limited and not at all for kids. Food was mediocre when it came. My eggs were well done, the burger that we had for one of the children was so over cooked u could bounce it off the table. By this point, I was just aggravated and wanted out. Oh and you have to pay by the app as well no cash. To me they are taking advantage of the government scheme by posting menu with only really expensive food to take full advantage of the customer. I will not be eating there again and would not recommend it to any one, the garden centre are also refusing cash which I actually find to be wrong also. No reason what so ever not to take cash. No risk to any ones health and I am sure money is still legal tender.

Always good to eat there for a sister's birthday with friends.

Met here with two friends and was spoilt for choice with the selection of cakes on offer. Really lovely setting and lots of seating. Lovely place to meet up for tea and cake along with a wander round the garden centre.

Stopped for a drink and some food in the middle of a bike ride. good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Truly amazing ... We spent a long time here, browsing the huge, very varied and reasonably priced gift store (literally something for every taste, age & interest!), looking at the fish and other small animals & reptiles ... this must be the best stocked and cleanest looking fish store ever! Great selection of plants and garden equipment too! Lunch in the cafe was very enjoyable and tasty. There’s a lot of choice but a little confusing to understand what to order where, particularly if ordering for a family - different stations for different types of food. There’s plenty of tables to eat at in different areas, kept clean and ready to use. My only regret is the limited kids area ... really only for very small kids. We were a family of 4 meeting grandparents for lunch so this garden center was superb for us!

Not what it used to be. Only locals visit these days, and it's usually very quiet. If you're after a peaceful drink and an audible conversation, this place ain't bad.

It's a local pub, mostly attended by a local crew. Still they are welcoming and friendly. Staff is always happy to help with a big smile on their faces.
