Our experience today was absolutely amazing, especially for a Sunday, the pub was quiet and the food quality was phenomenal. Our server Matilda took great care of us and we are definitely going to come back. We’ve always had a great experience coming here and we highly recommend!

I came to the pub for a drink and left with a profound respect for Mattie, the bartender, oracle, and wizard. She didn’t just pour my pint, she summoned it from the depths of flavor town with a flick of her wrist and a sparkle in her eye. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely place to visit plenty of space inside and good space in the garden with pods to sit in and tables to eat at we were really well looked after by all the staff especially our waitress Molly.

Had a delightful family meal here tonight. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, good drinks and extremely tasty meals. Excellent and attentive service from Matti and pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived that it didn't break the bank! Will visit again soon.

It was a terrible experience from start to finish, poor food quality, poor service, I won't be returning. We went for a family celebration, this experience ruin this for us. Very very poor all round.

My oh my what a shame, twice before I visited this place and had a wonderful time and a wonderful meal this time. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said first of all I will admit we were there a funny time of the day. I think we arrived at 2 o’clock That said the place was pretty empty. Zero atmosphere ! luckily the weather was nice so we found a table outside and an umbrella. It seemed OK . we chose from the set menu which was a bit cheaper but less options than the main menu however, given the quality of the food that arrived I’m glad we didn’t go for the more extensive more expensive menu. I must say the lady that took my order and who took payment was very nice and I will say she did offer a 50% discount on our mains which is quite frankly we’re not good but due to our hunger we ate them anyway ( they were edible just over cooked , mostly! I ordered a pate for starter, which was the best thing that came out of the form dishes, even though it was good the bread that came with it as usual, with these types of starters was not enough, and it was very over toast, the other starter Salt-N-Pepa, squid and again I will carry out this with. I’ve recently come back from a two week holiday in Manorca whether the salt and pepper squid was wonderful here. Sadly, the salt and Pepper squid was not wonderful. It was overcooked very rubbery. I’m pretty tasteless of the mains. I ordered a buttermilk chicken burger, and upon ordering I did ask if it came in a brie bun as I don’t like brioche buns the lady said no I don’t think so. It’s a seeded bun to which I said great. I don’t like brioche buns and ordered the burger. You guessed it. It came in a brioche bun, not only a brioche bun, but it was also very, very very over toasted brioche bun that was essentially hard. The chicken inside was as overcooked as the bun and was very dry. The best thing about it was the ginger bits in the relish and the chips actually weren’t bad the only great thing with this dish what’s the tomato relish onto the steak sandwich? Should I say fillet steak sandwich? There was belly enough fillet steak in the sandwich and what fillet steak that was in the sandwich was very very overcooked and quite hard and chewy. The sandwich bread was again toasted way too much and the rocket and horseradish was let’s say not well distributed within the sandwich and from having a bite of the sandwich with no horseradish to the next bite the sandwich with nothing but a spoonful of horseradish that came as a bit of a shock to my wife’s taste buds who doesn’t particularly like horse radish drinks were OK. I had a neck oil which is always a good point and as I said, the lady who served us was nice enough, even though she didn’t know what a bun was, and she did give us a discount at the end when I had my satisfaction, but the two members of staff that served us, an older man and lady who seemed very dressed down for the occasion to the point where I honestly didn’t think they worked there. They look like they may have just found some ill fitting clothes at a charity shop!( yes I know there are some great charity shops) they just didn’t care at all about their appearance, and quite frankly came across like they did not give a flying%#*^>~}} Honestly, not sure what it was all about won’t be going there again it’s a shame because it’s very local, but unfortunately, unless things change staff and quality of food this will have been our last visit at this establishment !

What a fantastic lunch! Great food, great company and the staff were fab. We sat in the sunshine on the patio and had a lovely lunch which everyone enjoyed. What a treat! I would highly recommend.

Well,we were greeted by a nice restaurant (I ordered scallops,by the way)which was very retro . Our room had a huge bed and a sofa bed as well as an ensuite I’m also concerned that it is haunted👻 but the ghosts are probably friendly…

This place is so pretty. On a nice day the outdoor seating area has beautiful lake views. It was quiet so service was quick and very on point. The staff were really engaging and had a great sense of humour. We had croissants and coffee .. best croissants we've had.

1st time here. Taken out for Mother's Day lunch. Set price. Unfortunately, none of my food was hot. Soup, risotto & pudding just Luke warm. Risotto was a bit odd with raw asparagus. Not great, to be honest. Didn't complain as when you're being taken out as a treat it's awkward.

Beautiful, slightly secluded hotel in the countryside. Wonderfully nice employees, great room and overall a very nice, rustic atmosphere. Would have liked to stay longer.

I remember this place well ! I came for a job interview as I'd just trained to be a Chef when I was 18 in around 1985 ! Very nice, beautiful place, I got the job ! ... ... Good. Though the water in the disabled toilet was boiling hot only, and the toilet paper dispenser poorly located for person on toilet to reach.

Good pub with good food, portions were a good size and tasty. We had burger and roast beef Sunday lunch. Kids portions are also very generous . My wife and daughter loved the Yorkies and gravy. Would go again

Had the wine, dine and stay package. Food and service were excellent, room a little tired but overall had everything we needed. Lovely to have a meal and a few drinks knowing we only had to go upstairs at the end of the evening. Breakfast was very good.

Very nice little place to stay. The pub was fairly upmarket and trendy but didn't notice any noise once in the room which was nice. Heat lamps outside was also a nice addition. The room itself was lovely - very comfortable and quiet, excellent blackout curtains, nice ensuite and the bed was unbelievably comfy; wish we had been staying more than just the night.

The food was very delicious and the staff was very friendly.

Our food was absolutely incredible we loved however we spent 45 minutes waiting for our desert menu to which my other half actually had to wave down waitresses and calling out for staff to serve us which they would look at us and still do nothing. In the end we went to the bar to get service we weren't given an apology not even a drink taken off the bill for the inconvenience. Unsure if we would return I don't think spending £130 with a 45 minute wait whilst the staff ignored us when it wasn't particularly busy especially when the waitress came over cleared our plates and asked if we would like the desert menu to which we said yes to and still had that 45

The food was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the sea bass and although the description says prawns, it didn’t come with any. We also had the mixed bread starter with pestos (I can’t remember what it was called on the menu) but it just looked like and tasted of bits of toast. Our server also wasn’t particularly friendly and dumped our food on the table a few times. We also hear an argument from the kitchen with someone shouting “I hate her”. Bit of an odd experience!

Fantastic! wouldn't hesitate to recommend/return, great team, dining and service. We gathered 14 members of our family to celebrate my Mothers 94th Birthday with a luncheon at the Inn on the Lake (IoTL). NB The IoTL kindly provided their private dining area for our party, giving us both privacy and excellent ambience . From the initial enquiry through to our departure the following morning, everything worked and nothing was any trouble**. The restaurant manager NICKY+ her team were fantastic. Great Food, portions and service. Three of us also stayed on for dinner and B&B, alas** the premises (+ surrounding area) suffered a power outage overnight, resulting in NO water/power/heating or breakfast in the morning , again NICKY stepped in/up and took care of us + other guests THANK YOU

Relatively good food, reasonably quick service but the star deduction was for the lack of clarity on the sticky digital allergy menu I was passed. As an example they show you what you can eat, which looks to be quite a lot, but the gluten-free dessert that I chose ‘Cookie and ice cream,’ was without the cookie as it wasn’t GF. Why not just state ice cream!?

Very nice food! The set lunch menu is good value. Service could be quicker, however I would still come back.

Went there before Christmas to check it out , it was cold plus we have bird pet , we sat outside with a drink and steak sandwich 🥪 staff really lovely even come out to check and turned heated parasols for us and our bird pet , the garden domes looks lovely at the back with plenty of tables and space and another space for car park we think this place will be perfect for us in the summer , will definitely go back there .

The place was lovely however the bellypork roast was a disaster because they gave me the smallest amount of belly pork for price they charge. I will not be eating there again.

Great place to stay, sadly I was unwell so not able to report much. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Lovely lady in charge very kind, room was fabulous plenty of room.

Parking was available, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I am vegetarian and there were options for me on the menu. The food was yummy and the pub had that comforting atmosphere of chatter and low music. Would visit again.

The food was delightful, and the ambience and the cosy decor made for a truly inviting experience. Considering it was Boxing Day, the prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Deathly quiet for Xmas Eve breakfast, when everywhere else is fully booked was slightly concerning. That said, we were made very welcome and the full English breakfast was very good. Staff we also very pleasent!

had a group breakfast which came out quickly, but for 17.50, it looked nice but tasted average, 1 piece of bacon and 1 sausage, is not good value for money, i also don't like being asked to give a tip... if i think it's deserved i'll give one. not cool to demand one it out in front of people then select what % you think that should be....

I've been driving for months past this gem, unaware of what I was missing! Unfortunately it is really pricey, ( not surprising for Godalming, one of the most expensive places in Surrey) but great food, service and location

Lovely pub-restaurant for meeting up with friends and family. Appealing menu. Great atmosphere and although the place was completely full with big parties, food and drinks were served promptly. We had an issue with one of the dishes which was resolved well. Cosy in winter and outside space for summer days. Some areas could do with a lick of paint (doors to loos)

Great pub, excellent service, good choice of beers and a great menu, we often use this pub as a meeting point as they are very accommodating in allowing us use of a private meeting room, I highly recommend The Inn on The Lake. Will definitely be returning to this excellent establishment!

I can't rate Dominic and the team at the Inn on the Lake highly enough. A group of friends & I regularly gather here for drinks and a catch up, and always find a warm welcome, great hospitality and attentive service. It’s also refreshing to find a place that isn’t just about great service but also about standing firm for what it believes in - a true pillar of the community.

We came to the Inn on the lake for a Wake. We had a lovely experience even for a very sad occasion. Right from the first phone call, we received such compassionate service. We couldn't fault anything, the welcome we all received, the food, the actual venue. They met all our needs, and we were so grateful. A very big thank you has to go to Nicky for all of her help and kind words.

We had a wonderful lunch today, my son even commented that his burger was the best ever! The food was very fresh and beautifully cooked and we will definitely be back!
