Super staff, coffee delicious and cake devine

I'm happy to come back and change my review as the last few times I have been in the guys have been super friendly and helpful. I have needed some alterations to the standard order and they were more than happy to accommodate me and make suggestions. Back to the great service of the past.

I really love Costa coffee and this one in Godalming High Street is my nearest. Great coffee and good service but please Mr Costa can you update the interior? Compared with the new coffee shops in town it is rather drab. Say no more.

Godalming. good coffee while i use the wifi! Clean! Very friendly and helpful especially the Manager.. ... Back in here today a week after my traffic collision. The staff have shown great care by adding cold milk to porridge and offering me straws with my drinks and using slim glass mugs. It means a lot when you're in constant pain and not slept all week x ...been back here a few times. JACK and CHARLOTTE are lovely people. They still give me straws and tall glass and extra ice and listen to me winge. They even gave me an empty coffee box so i could sit phone on it and type without hurting my hand or neck so much. I love coffee and wouldn't go anywhere else in Godalming for my future drinks x

Really nice cafe, staff are friendly and service quick. There's plenty of seating both inside and out, plus a range of seating to accommodate most requirements.

Visited on Monday. No hot chocolate. Cakes looking barren. Last visit only one member of staff in. Drink was pretty poor. Used to love costa but there’s better in godalming now.

When I was heavily pregnant and in a wheelchair I was refused to use the toilet as they were about the close and had already cleaned it. The public toilets were also closed which I told the two girls working at the coffee shop, so they really let me stranded. I offered to pay or buy something but was still refused.

What can one say about a Costa other than its always consistent. But that's hard to come by in some coffee shops that can be hit and miss on your favourite cup of Joe. Staff are pretty good, but I often use the Costa Collect APP. Easy to translate my preference.

No it's not a small business but people there are very friendly.

The tables, chairs and parts of the floor were clean. The rest of the premises can l only be described as utterly filthy. Doors, windows, all the fittings behind the counter and the electronic menu screen were disgusting. It was obvious that a thorough clean had not been done for done for a very long time. The preparation areas were dirty and untidy. Worse still the whole place has a horrible smell like sour milk or cheese. I will definitely not return and will also contact Waverley Borough Environmental Health.

Indifferent service and was asked to move seat to accommodate a local business that wanted to meet … all very odd and certainly not welcoming.

Food and drink good but service was very slow.

Awful, I went in there with my 3 year old. Queued for 20 minutes and was told at 4 that we couldn't sit because they wanted to close on time. They were closing at 5.

I have been going there on and off for years. Some great, friendly staff have come and gone. Shout out to Connor and Co.

It’s a Costa’s alright, the coffee is as good as your going to get there, and the staff are rather friendly, just very expensive, and the soup wasn’t microwaved fully, leaving a cold middle and warm outside.

Costa Coffee in Cranleigh is without doubt the best Costa Branch I have used. The staff are fantastic, the store has a high percentage of disabled customers and once they have placed their order they are able to go and sit down as the staff will always take your order to where your sitting. All the staff make sure they know their customers and in many cases if its one of their disabled customers they tell them to sit down and the staff and serve at table including checking that the customer wants their normal order or something different

Don’t bother. Godalming is lucky to have several far better, locally owned coffee shops: Godalming Food Co, Cafe Mila, Roost. Give them your business instead

All the staff are super friendly and service is great. Sure they have been staff shortages but the staff have gone above and beyond. Love our daily coffee stop there and enjoying the atmosphere. Super COVID compliant too!

We visit daily and are always greeted by friendly staff who are very professional and speedy with their service. Would strongly recommend Costa Godalming.

Always love our daily visit for our coffee to our Godalming store. Staff are super friendly, my Iced Latte is lovely and food is great too. Very Covid compliant too. I do feel for the staff sometimes as some customers can be really rude for no reason! But they always stay very professional.

staff were so so horrible. really really unfriendly and just plain rude - not all of them but one in particular. never going in there again, appalled at their customer service, they got my drinks order wrong and were just a mess overall. very unimpressed.

Went for a panini and coffee today - 3.30pm Saturday and was told that they had stopped serving food today, because they have to have enough food for tomorrow. (I could see sandwiches for toasting etc behind the cloth they had pulled over them). So the people who go there tomorrow can have a panini but I can't !!!

Was not busy which is good considering the covid 19, was very warm and well priced. Only thing could have been different is how fast the tables are cleaned as it makes it hard to find a seating place with dirty plates.

Love Godalming and we had enough points for free coffee and eats. Bargain!

Was so disappointed with my drink as it didn’t taste nice - normally the drink I buy tastes nice but today in godalming the girl must have done something wrong as I had to throw it away after drinking half of it. Won’t be going back to this costa.

Level of service a bit variable not the best site/environment. Usual Costa products served. OK cakes etc but not anything to shout about. Went in because we got a free coffee when we downloaded the app. Probably wouldn't go back. There are better places nearby.

This costa used to be my favourite a few years ago, when they were fully staffed with great customer service and a fun atmosphere. In the last year things have gone very downhill, with the store often being closed at little notice over staff shortages. Even when they are open the queues are often so long there isn't any point waiting for a luke-warm drink.

ordered a white hot chocolate a couple of weeks ago and they must have forgot to put the powder in or put such a small amount in that i ended up walking out with what was just warm milk, went to go back but they were pushing people out for end of day

Waited an age for 2 drinks, when they eventually came they were both horrible. Hot chocolate was lumpy and only half full, latte was luke warm milk with hardly any coffee in it despite it supposedly having an extra shot. Sat down in a cold draught next to a stained wall and were immediately told we had to move as that area was closing. When we asked why we were told that's the way they run their business. We left the drinks and went elsewhere. Never going back there.

Says open till 7pm. Went in at 5.20 to get free coffee from my Vodafone #feelgoodfriday. Light all on sign out side. To be told no we are closed end of story. Not happy

So the guy with the green hair who works there CANNOT make a good cup of coffee. Asked for a Cortado and got a small watery white americano. I returned it asking him to make it again, second time round I got a bad small cappachino, I've no idea how he managed it but he made costa coffee taste bad. That's £2.50 for one of the worst coffees I've ever had, I easily and regularly make better at home. Please someone reading this send him on a training course or ask him to go back to making coffee in McDonald's #flatwhite

Friendly staff, but the drinks were dire. Ordered skinny latte, which came luke warm, unfrothy, with no hint of coffee - simply warmed up milk. Had to leave most of it. Counter and floor behind the serving area was a mess - dirty with litter on the floor and work surfaces and flowing out of the waste bin. Dirty worktops, coffee/milk machine taps wiped down by server with dirty rag. Messy unclean surfaces where food and drink being prepared. Awful! This branch has a reputation for declining cleanliness and the drinks are simply not to the standard of other branches. Don’t waste your money here.

Due to the partners love of Costa coffee we stop regularly in many shops. Overall this is probably the worst one for a very long time. A long time to get served due to very slow service/ making of drinks. Provided half cups of coffee and latè which then involved further delay while being given the correct amount. To be fair there was someone clearing tables but the place and particularly the toilets needed a good deep clean.

Some of the kindest staff about always polite and well mannered and friendly. Good food quality as well great place to relax.

While the employees are welcoming, the place always appears to be short-staffed, with customers having to clear their own tables and navigate an untidy environment. The Godalming shop was closed for a number of days over the Xmas and New Year period due, allegedly to broken coffee machines? Really! Just been there again today at 11am to find it closed and no opening times displayed. Quite clearly there is a problem with the management of this premises and, perhaps the company?

So slow. This place has gone down hill fast. Went in for a mid-morning coffee but ended up buying lunch as I'd queued for so long.

The staff are lovely and kind, unfortunately they have no managerial support and no support from an area manager or head office. Big up the team, but no respect for their superiors that just don't seem to care, as long as it opens and makes some money.

Just popped in this cafe, and it's not too bad as it's not improved and has not got worse. But we still see tables still have cutlery left on the tables. I notice customers are arriving and have to shift them to sit down. I think they need to just get on top of it a bit more. The staff was nice enough and the service was quick and welcoming. The floor was reasonably clean and the furniture was comfortable and clean. The atmosphere with the contemporary music in the background was reasonable level and didn't stop most people having a good conversation. The age group in here was mixed that was here on this occasion. But all in all it was good, I will come here again.

Coffee up to usual good standard, but very chilly in the building at 8.30 am and again the rewards system was not available as I was advised the servers were down again! This is the third time this year that I have not been able to collect reward points! This needs sorting as frustrating for staff and me!

We had the unfortunate task of visiting Godalming this week for a close friend's funeral. Arriving early we called into Costa to have a coffee whilst waiting for the church service. The young manager was out clearing tables and noticed us dressed up in suits, he asked if we were on our way to a wedding as we looked so dapper.He was so embarrassed when we said, not a wedding but unfortunately a funeral.Bless him, he immediately said that all we wanted were on him today.Whilst ordering at the counter I said thank you for the kindness, he replied "We are all on the same team and should look out for each other"So sweet, thank you for restoring some faith in common humanity in this day and age of what seems like constant aggressive behaviour towards one another.A simple act of kindness which made our sad day more bearable.

This was the only place that we found to have a garden - so that we could sit in the last of the afternoon’s sun. I don’t much like these brand name chains but I’d certainly go back to this one. Coffee was good. The staff were extremely pleasant and the girl who was working there went out of her way to help us find a place to eat that evening.

The staff in there are great and very friendly. Great with my little one. I think it's rated 3.9 stars overall due to its cleanliness of it toilets in particular. But this is because it is so busy and have limited resources to focus on this.

Fast service and lots of tables with outdoor seating area at the back. Staff are friendly. The tables were left dirty from previous customers so cleaned it myself, which was not unusual in high street coffee shops. Great location on Godalming high street, close to lots of other high street chain stores and a river side walk and park behind the street.

I popped in for a coffee while shopping in the High Street. The cappuccino was fine but the decor is shabby and the tables were not clean. Also many had not been cleared even though the cafe quiet. The staff serving were pleasant and helpful so it is a pity that the state of the coffee shop lets it down.

Right in the high street. Parking is a hit and miss but did find outside this costa, that too, in high street. Lovely coffee shop.

3 stars for friendly good service and the coffee deserves a 5 star; However.. I’m afraid the cleanliness really lets you down; padded seating stained and the smell from the toilets reaching the tables is off-putting!

Quick service and a good Costa cafe.

Costa coffee in Godalming is a regular monthly visit for us. Normal Costa bill of fare, served by friendly young staff, in premises which are generally clean and cared for. It sits among a range of well known chains, including Boots, Smiths, Waterstones, EWM, Waitrose, Dyas, and various charity shops, banks and eateries. There is a large car park just off the high street, with reasonable charges, but it is sometimes difficult to find a space without doing a second tour!

Fairly reliable family pitstop. Feels a little expensive - a couple of kids' toasties with two juice cartons is well north of a tenner. Never looks like there's enough seating but somehow there always tends to be one table free. Cleanliness is so-so. Tables will often sit with the last customers' waste - I'm sure people would help clean up if there was a place to take your leftovers. The loos can be very smelly. We keep going back though because overall the service is what we're after when the kids start complaining of being hungry whilst in town.

Coffee was not good even the second one

The coffee was okay the cheese and ham toastie was okay. I have to say the place looked grubby and the toilets were dirty the door in/out including the handle looks like it has never been cleaned however the staff were really friendly
