Lovely pub, a little gem. Located in the middle of a busy roundabout. All staff very friendly and welcoming, great food and choices. Prices are excellent, very reasonable. Here to celebrate mum’s 70th Birthday and the team were very helpful and welcoming and great communication via email. I would highly recommend this pub to everyone as it certainly met all expectations and more.

We were given a choice to eat in the bar or the restaurant. It was late lunch so we chose the restaurant. The chairs are covered in drink and food stains - literally covered. The sausage and mash was awful. The sausages were not freshly cooked, so they were hard from reheating. We couldnt get out of there fast enough. Such a shame as i swear i ate there about 10 years previous and really enjoyed the food.

I use this pub often & always enjoy the company of the staff. My wife & myself had our ruby anniversary there with family. I was able to discuss food allergies with the chef which was very helpful for the buffet. The buffet food was very well received by our guests & I believe was very good value.

We booked for a surprise 90th Birthday party. 25 of us ate lunch and the food was excellent and piping hot. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Thank you Denise and all your staff - nothing was too much trouble.

Great atmosphere and fantastic food. We had a family party for 40 + people. Friendly staff made us feel at home. Highly recommend this pub.

Came here for a family function and had the most amazing experience. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were very welcoming and were lovely to chat to. We will definitely be coming back again!!!

Nice pub, love sitting out front in sumer. People are nice. Only downside is consistency of ales has been hit and miss, so never sure what they will actually have and what will be off. But still always happy to go there.

I felt like I was walking into the slaughtered lamb in American Werewolf in London. Felt like the pub turned to stare as we weren't locals. The punters were actually rude. Had one drink in the garden out front and then left. It's an unusual pub in the middle of a roundabout. Has potential. Shame about the local punters and atmosphere.

It’s been a while since we were last here. The furniture is starting to look a little jaded but the service and food were really good. Can highly recommend the bacon, Brie, bacon and cranberry panini with a small side salad and chips was well presented, tasty, hot and fresh.

Food was great but all the surfaces were sticky 😫

Sunday roast beef ..inedible .. tough enough to make a pair of shoes. Soggy roast spuds. Roast parsnips missing . Roast chicken was surprisingly ok. Service poor .. not asked how food was despite more than half full plates being returned, had to request table to be cleared. Not asked if we wanted any pudding or coffee.. so didn’t have any. Will not be returning.

Below average Roast dinner, meat was tough and over cooked. Service was slow. Didn't have most of the menu items. Best thing was a side of chips. Wouldn't go back.

Sunday roast yesterday's roast potatoes all extremely dry and tasteless chewy horrible chicken with a weird aftertaste, gravy like water. zero stars if I could

I was hoping to treat my family to a nice lunch out,how wrong was I. I've visited the Shepherd and Flock several years ago and never had a problem. My daughter is Gluten Free, they had no bread or rolls Gluten free so a sandwich was out of the question. The waitress pointed to the only Gluten free dish on the menu ,it was Fish Gougons, salad and chips it cost £16.99,so we both had that. When it arrived it was in a massive bowl filled to the brim with salad with 3/4 Gougons . It had just been thrown in the dish even the splatters around the dish had not been wiped! It was also lukewarm ,which we did relay to the waitress . It was way over priced, I think the fact that the salad would feed a family of 4 they thought warranted the price. The wallpaper was hanging of the walls , and there were more crumbs in the creveses of the table than in the bread bin. As you can see one unhappy customer !!

Visited last night, very busy obviously some sort of event in the restaurant area, also busy outside, one girl in the bar doing her best but waited ages for a drink. Ordered food, 3 of us jacket potato, one burger and one vegetarian burger. The food was average at best, I’d like to know why the normal burger comes with a pot of coleslaw, albeit tiny and 1 onion ring, whereas my vegetarian burger doesn’t have coleslaw or an onion ring. Last time I looked both coleslaw and onion rings are vegetarian. I could make better chips at home pretty average again. Yet the burgers cost the same price on the menu. At £16.95 each I feel these burgers are way overpriced they were pretty average. I can’t comment on the prawn jacket potato my friend had but it didn’t look like it normally does it just looked like some prawns in a load of mayonnaise. We’ve been coming to this pub for about 20 years it has definite gone down hill since it reopened after Covid, we only go as it is a central place to meet. I feel maybe it’s time to find a new venue. Disappointing

Enjoyed a superb evening roast here with a mate for my birthday on Sunday 23rd June. I had 4 meats and my meal was huge with a good variety of extras and veg. Service was excellent and food was hot. Only very small negative is it would be nice to have the choice of doing your own gravy. Definitely be looking to eat here again in the near future!

Stopped off here with friends on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed cold drinks and decent food in the sun. Food was decent and service was good. Will definitely return

We stopped for dinner. We’d never been before. Food was ‘ok’. Nothing special at all. I had garlic bread (only toasted one side) and Chili Con Carne. I give the food 2/5 - not value for money. The place was dirty and and needs a lot of TLC. Wouldn’t go back.

Had a really tasty veggie curry made by their excellent chef, Grant who takes a real pride in producing great food. Staff were so welcoming and friendly, I went back another 2 nights. Definitely recommend if you are a solo female traveller as you will be cared for as if a member of the family.

Great Pub in an unusual location. Decent Ales. Very good Burgers. Quite inside the pub the evening we went,but with a friendly local pub atmosphere. You can watch the world go by outside with their new marquee style erection.

Massive delay for lunch, when the place was almost empty. Then when it arrived the meat was dry....

Popped in on the way home for some food and a drink, and I have to stay it was absolutely lovely and very big portions, too. Will definitely be going back, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

A beautiful pub with such friendly and accommodating staff. The food was incredible and I wasn’t made to feel like a burden for asking for small changes to what I ordered. The burger was delicious and presented beautifully. We will definitely come back.

Standard boozer in the Middle of the A31 roundabout. You wouldn't really come here unless specifically planning to, or if you were stretching your legs on the North Downs Way, so its a bit quiet. Standard beer offerings on the taps. A few locals chatting at the bar. And that's about it. Maybe its good for a roast, but I didn't try any food.

Firstly, there's enough parking alongside the roadway in, plus their car park. Outside seating area would be popular in the warmer months. (We visited on a January Friday evening.) The pub has a restaurant and separate bar area, We had our dog so sat in the bar. The service we received, from the welcome right through to paying the bill was excellent. The food is well chosen good pub food and was up to the same superb standard. Great beer selection too. I had a pint of Sleigh Bells Ring by Pennine...nice! Food wise I ordered the Homemade Cottage Pie with carrots & brocoli and it was really tasty...although quite large and I had a job to finish it 😋 I would totally recommend a visit.

We were a party of 6 ladies having a catch up. This was a great venue and food was outstanding. We had steak & ale pie and steak & kidney pudding. Great big pieces of steak and wonderful gravy. Service was fast & efficient and staff knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic pub! Booked for my husbands birthday and they were really accommodating of a large table of some eating and some just drinking. Staff were brilliant, food was great and MASSIVE portions. The atmosphere is lovely in both the restaurant and bar and we all really enjoyed our visit. The location worked so well as everyone came from different areas of Surrey and Hampshire so it was a great middle ground and there was ample parking. Definitely going to be back, very impressed! Thank you so much for having us.

We booked a table for 5pm and we were going on to a concert in Guildford. We bought drinks, ordered main courses and paid. Then we waited. And waited. Finally at 6.05pm they realised that the order hadn't gone through to the kitchen! No food for us, as we then didn't have time to wait for the preparation, eat the meal, then drive over to Guildford. Very disappointing 😞. We were reimbursed in full with sincere apologies which was appreciated.

Well.. what a lovely location for a Sunday Roast. The food matched the location, and the variety of veg was a nice supprise (including sprouts). The price was great, and we will return. 1 negative which I didn't score down on was that roasts are not advertised on the website. THANK YOU

Visited for first time in a long time. Greated by Mark who gave us a very warm welcome and choice of table. The menu is good with lots of choice ideal for lunch or evening meal. Quick service and food to table. Nice portion size ,value for money. Only down side plate was cold causing food too cool. The wood was very nice and nice to be treated as a valued customer and nice thought of the mint after meal. We will be back and will tell friends and family of this hidden gem. Thank you.

Almost dead on a Thursday evening after 10pm. The cask beer somewhat lacked condition.

Went there at lunch, childrens lasagne was just pasta sauce and cheese and nothing else, tiny potions. I had the cheese ploughman’s and couldn’t eat the cheddar as it had clearly been left out and had a hard crust to it. Service was slow and a bit tricky to start but friendly

Really disappointing meal this evening, which is shame as we usually really like it here. I don’t think the usual chef was there but there has to be consistency when he’s not. Prawns were like water. My wife’s salmon was extremely over cooked and dry and the pasta was flavourless. The garlic bread was soft and white. I had what I always have, liver and bacon but it was not good. It was like mush and so salty, with what I can only describe as a vinegary taste. We left our food. We weren’t asked how it was, but didn’t complain as the young lady that had been serving us was lovely and we didn’t want to cause a scene or embarrass her in front of the regulars. On a positive note my son loved his sausage and chips. I hope this was just a one off as it’s usually such a great pub.

Just had yet another amazing meal! I’m working my way through the menu and had Lambs Liver and Bacon with mash and onion gravy and peas. Absolutely delicious, I don’t normally eat liver because it’s normally tough but this was so tender and flavoursome. Grant the chef is a hidden gem in Farnham!

After years of driving past this pub on the roundabout, I finally went in. It was a beautiful sunny day and I sat outside with the dog, enjoying a beef roast dinner (£10.95 with a choice of pork, lamb, beef or chicken). Staff were welcoming, friendly and quick to bring our cutlery and condiments. They offered my dog a bowl of water too. I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.

Lovely food. Nice and hot. Served in good time. Ate the lot.

Very empty when we arrived at 12.30pm,but soon filled up and was fairly busy. We met as two couples and were served quickly. The menu was pretty extensive and the only criticism was no fish other than battered fish and chips. However my Paella was very tasty my friends Steak and ale pie large and tasty and our two wive's Quiche, new potatoes and salad very good. A good selection of ale, beer and wine went down a treat. All in all a very enjoyable lunchtime. Will definitely recommend.

First time there, strange feeling being in a pub in the middle of a large traffic roundabout. The atmosphere & the welcome we had was really good. Nikkie looked after us & we couldn't have wished for a nicer person. The food was superb three of us having the steak & kidney pie with a proper suet casing & loads of meat inside.

I used to eat here quite regularly but none of the group I went with enjoyed their food. It was quite awful actually. Service was good and bar staff were friendly and I used to love this pub but dont know whats going on with the food! Chips were over cooked, small portions, high prices, ribs had a funny taste and bolognese was watery... Not good. Ordered coffee at end and couldn't drink it - tasted awful. Not worth the time or money.

I didn't eat here but there was a nice atmosphere and friendly bar staff. A few nice beers on tap too.

Been meaning to come here for years. Got to admit I was underwhelmed. Everything was fine enough but the prices for food seemed steep for what was there. Their biscoff cheesecake was next level though

Very poor service, very poor food,too high the prices. I had to call the waitress to clear our table then again to see the dessert menu, then again to take the order. The restaurant was not busy only one other table of 5 or 6. Seemed more interested in talking to customers at the bar. I ordered salmon with pasta in tomato sauce. It's not hard to make a nice tomato sauce but opening a can of chopped tomatoes and adding it to pasta is just lazy. Very disappointing evening

What a disappointing visit to this pub. The young bar girl was helpful & friendly but that was all I can say when trying to be positive. The seating was uncomfortable (we did move twice), someone was smoking inside the kitchen with the door only open about 3 inches and to top it off I had an expensive vegan burger with nothing in apart from a small burger, lettuce and tomato (no vegan cheese, mayo, relish, onion etc) that said I did have a piece of metal in there!!! which looked like the tip of a knife. Luckily I didn't swallow it. We mentioned it to the staff and said we didn't want anything off the meal but to make them aware, and we didn't even get an apology or anything said to us. Such a shame.

The staff were very efficient, we were a group of 16 and within 20 minutes we were all eating our lunch. Well done.

The new landlord is doing a good job. Beer is good, haven't tried the food but that's probably good too.

I don't know what I expected from a pub on a roundabout, but it was worse than I imagined. The beer garden out the back was like a building site, it looked like it was falling apart. Server was nice though. My friend ordered food which didn't look too bad

Came here recently for a spot of lunch and the food wasn't too great, neither was the service.

Stopped in following a 10 mile walk. We both had the roast (one lamb and one chicken); I'm pretty fussy with roast dinners and I can say it was the best I've had in a pub for as long as I can remember! Almost as good as my mum's. Homemade roast potatoes, lots of different veggies, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and lush gravy. Also had an americano and the coffee was really great. I'd make a special trip here for Sunday lunch. Bargain too at £10.95.

My partner and I popped in for a drink. It was our first time visiting the pub - we will definitely be returning. The staff were very welcoming, and the food and drink were delicious.

Like a lot of people, I've driven around it for years but never been in. Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, a proper old school local pub. They have a good range of beers and ales, and the ales are very well kept.

Such a shame as this was such a great pub before it was closed so was looking forward to going back and was very disappointed that a lot of food on the menu was not available and food was cold when it arrived and coffee machine was turned off so we were told we could not have any. I would not waste your money.

Mums surprise birthday meal, friendly service, food was excellent, good portions and hot food and as there was 24 of us well done to the chef. A really nice atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the bar staff and waitresses, we will definitely go back.

A warm welcome, excellent service with real home cooked traditional substantial food and Real Ales that many pubs lack these days. A definite winner if you fancy a traditional English pub experience.

I had a lovely few pints and a really good lamb Sunday roast. Top marks

We visited this pub at 8pm on a Friday and it was nicely quiet. Staff were lovely and very quick to offer us drinks and a seat in the restaurant. The food menu had lots of choices. We opted for steak and chips and a full rack of ribs. The food portions were big (too big really, I imagine they get a lot of food waste) and the flavour was OK but a bit on the bland side. My partner really enjoyed the prawn cocktail and said it was the best part! All in all, glad we visited and would go back if I was in the area.

Whilst visiting family in the area from France tried this Pub and found the staff very friendly and the menu was expansive. The food was excellent and hot and the beer great. Last lived in Farnham 17 years ago so was impressed with the new owners and would highly recommend this place.

Sept 2022. Friends & I had planned to meet up for a walk and thought we'd try the recently reopened pub. We were not disappointed. We were met with friendly bar staff, they are dog friendly, offering water for dogs, (handy especially if you go for a highly recommended walk around the area!). The food was hot and tasty. Reasonably priced & on par with present prices. No table menus at present but understand they are being produced. Landlady was incredibly apologetic. Didn't matter, certainly didn't spoil the atmosphere or friendliness as blackboards list their food. In fact, you probably make your mind up quicker! My friends were not local but thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Everyone knows I have high standards of service being in the sector. Thank you. Will be returning soon.
