Bon East in Waverley

Called up the restaurant using the number provided on here but was told the restaurant is now called Lucky Star - that should have been my red flag. Anyway, placed my order and went to pick it up and what do you know? The chicken was rancid. I did not want to believe it, why would a restaurant with so many great reviews give me rancid salt and pepper chicken? But alas, I could not deceive myself even if I tried - I had been given chicken that had gone OFF cleverly coated in spring onions and chillies. Why for all that is good would you guys do something so obviously bad? Have you no conscience? Are you dead inside? Is money all that matters to you? Do you wish me dead? Is everything else rancid as well or is it just the chicken? ANSWER ME!!!

In a secondary street, so need to look for it. Offers take away and indoor sit it, good quality food, but small portions so it ends up being quite pricey

I was craving chinese food, and this place was near me so i decided to come in and try it. Immediately, the service was impeccable! Staff were lovely and our server was friendly young fella. The food was a little dry, but still had lots of flavour. The prices weren’t too bad and through the whole experience at this restaurant, the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant to be around. I have heard bad things on this app about this restaurant however i had a wonderful experience. 🙏🤲🩷 praise the lord

I ordered takeaway. It is terrible quality food not fresh. I fell ill after eating it. I cant see any chinese food anymore. I have to pay for the plastic container, though no clutter or tissues. Very bad experience. not recommended at all.

Six of us have just had a sumptuous banquet today here. The food was excellent, all very tasty and hot. The crispy duck was good as usual. The servings for the main meal were large. Many thanks, Vince and his team

I'm not used to writing reviews but we have just had a take away meal from here which was awful. The lemon chicken was dried out and had to be chewed on like leather. The crispy duck was passed being crispy and was also tough and dried out. The veg noodles were just ok but a bit bereft of vegetables and also dry. It was all as if it had been cooked and left under a hot lamp for at least an hour. We picked it up promptly! We have had some nice food from here before but this is the second time we have been extremely disappointed.

Four of us went to this restaurant in the early evening. One of us was Chinese and so was able to speak to the Chinese staff. The food was excellent, the shredded duck was particularly good. My Chinese friend said that the food was very authentic. The staff were very helpful and service was very good. When the bill came at the end I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good value, especially considering the quality of the food.

Had a superb meal at the Lucky Star tonight Reserved a table earlier in the day Mentioned the reservation to my niece over a cup of tea “oh” she said “ I’ve not heard good reviews “ Funny. , I thought as we had eaten a few times at the Lucky Star this year Anyway we decided to go ahead and ignore the comments So glad we went Food - outstanding Staff - professional, courteous, attentive and very friendly Vince - front of house was so charming and made sure we were well looked after all evening Megan our main server was absolutely lovely Cannot fault the Lucky Star and in my opinion it does not deserve the bad press it seems to be getting I fully recommend trying it out for yourself Thank you Vince and staff for a very enjoyable meal out

***NOW LUCKY STAR*** Great food, take aways are usually fabulous. However! (And I’m not one to complain or leave reviews), myself and my good lady popped into the restaurant last week for a meal, and were basically taken advantage of which I’m greatly disappointed about, the restaurant really let themselves down. We were served a mixed starter, barely big enough for one (we’re not 15 stone fast food whales either). I assumed at the time it was for one until the bill arrived and we were charged £20. It was not about the money, it’s the principle - perhaps with the restaurant being very quiet after Easter, they were trying to get the till up. The lady in charge was not prepared to provide any remuneration. What made me laugh is that the young lad serving even said he was surprised at how little food there was. Very short sighted of the restaurant considering our loyal custom in the past. We were also a very unwell for several days, but I can’t say for certain if it was the restaurant but most likely. I’d save your money and eat elsewhere in Farnham. (And cue restaurant - the menu clearly states xyz - it doesn’t, and you took the pi*s.

Another fantastic meal at the Lucky Star yesterday. Group of 10 and we regularly eat Chinese food. Definitely now the go to for our special and family occasions. Service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic menu with good variety of choices, particularly for vegetarians. Food was beautifully cooked, flavoursome and well presented. Highly recommend.

Can’t believe we hadn’t been here before. We’ve been very disappointed in the Chinese restaurants in the area and this one is a little off the beaten track. Very welcoming, friendly staff. The decor is warm and inviting and very clean. The food is truly excellent, on a par with the very best in San Francisco’s and London’s China towns. Reasonable prices and large portions. What started out as a very boring weekday shopping trip turned into a lovely, leisurely lunch. Will definitely go again soon.

I have visited this restaurant several times now, my last visit was September 25 2022. It is not local to us so mainly on special occasions and it has always been a great experience. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. The foods is just great well presented and delicious. I can honestly say it's my favourite place to go and I have never been Disappointed. We usually go on Sundays when they serve their buffet so we get to try a bit of everything when there is a few of us that order I highly recommend it

I have lived less that 1/4 mile from Bon East/Lucky Start for over 15 years. It used to be our favorite place, food was wonderful, staff were great. A couple of years ago the owner retired and everything has gone horribly wrong. This is my 4th attempt at take away in the last 3 years and it just keeps getting worse. Anything I have tried with Chicken has been a mistake. The sweet and sour has watery chicken in it and I just found two bones in my Chicken noodles.

I wanted a take away for a small gathering so i done a comparison check (like for like) between the Lucky Star and The Tasty House both in Farnham having chosen our order the price came to around £100 00 from the Lucky Star and for exactly the same order from The Tasty House the price came to £64 40 (guess who got the order), i have eaten food from both places in the past and found the quality to be comparable it was only when we had the price for the large order that i decided to compare both take away prices so it is a no brainer where we will continue to go for our Chinese meals in the future

This has been my favourite Chinese restaurant for takeaway or for eating in around the Farnham area. It has changed hands in the last year and is now called Lucky Star. Some of the food remains good, however small things like the satay (too oily) and the inedible crispy seaweed mean it has slipped a little. Still better than the alternatives.

Inedible chicken. Having lived very close to Bon East / Luck Star for the last 15 years, I have watched with sadness the decline of what was our favourite restaurant. Though we would give it another go after the horrendous experience we had when it changed name a couple of years ago. This was worse. Meat dished (all chicken) were inedible. Chicken was like rubber, same as it has been for the last 2 years. So very sad.

Thought we would give this restaurant another go as we had heard mixed reviews about it since its change of name to Lucky Star but it should be called Unlucky Star. I ordered fillet steak in teryaki sauce and my daughter ordered a green Thai chicken curry. My fillet steak was certainly not fillet steak had a very strange flavour and texture and her chicken was processed to the point it tasted like cardboard. I think a Heath check is needed on this establishment. Never again

The food was exceptional but the sweet and sour sauce was so vinegary it was inedible and really liquidy, like water. They also don't give free prawn crackers, despite us spending nearly £60! But the chicken balls were absolutely amazing. The kung po was a bit light on the chili. We thought it was tasty, but not value for money. Won't go again

This restaurant has changed it's name to the Lucky Star. Unfortunately, the food has changed for the worse. Whist the starters and the duck were ok. The main courses were not. My 'sizzling lamb' should have been called 'something sizzling' as I could not taste any lamb! My wife's 'sizzling king prawns' were not nice and not helped by the fact that the waitress dropped two of the prawns on to her tray when serving the dish! We paid the 'discretionary service charge' of 10% because of the Covid circumstances this sector is in. However we will not be returning in a hurry. Such a shame as the Bon East forerunner was so much better.

Every dish I ordered did not taste like normal Chinese food. Meat was old. Rice tasted awful with almost more egg than rice. Beef with cashews - was just that. Funny tasting beef with peanuts. Terrible sauce. Not a slice of onion or vegetable added to the dish. Peking ribs was not cooked properly- like it was just boiled, not fried or baked to give a firm texture. Like chewing soft fat. Sauce was thin and tasteless. The chicken balls were greasy and had the strangest texture chicken I have ever eaten - soft stringy texture. The sweet and sour sauce was thin and completely tasteless. Unfortunately the meal ended up in the bin. Couldn't eat it despite being hungry and picking this up on my way back from being on holiday. I was so looking forward to it. But has to be just about the most disappointing meal I have ever had. There was no care or pride whatsoever in the food being sold.

I’ve used Bon East a number of times and never been disappointed until this time! The food was 40 minutes late and when it arrived the only thing that was edible and not covered in grease was the lettuce chicken wrap. Hugely disappointing.... and won’t be using again if this is what new management have brought to the table

I have been a loyal customer to Bon East for ten years. Ever since the new management have taken over it has gone downhill unfortunately. On NY’s eve we called at 6pm for a 7pm delivery. After being told that it was on its way I went to the restaurant at 9pm and it still wasn’t ready. It’s such a shame but this restaurant has really gone downhill and the management really must learn how to manage!

We ordered takeaway for a family of 5. The portions were massive and food was great - as good if not better than the old Bon East.

For 10 years I couldn’t fault the food at Bon East, but now it’s under new management it is so disappointing. It’s really gone downhill. The last takeaway was just dreadful with the lemon chicken virtually inedible. It was obviously reheated chicken, very dry, small pot of what was supposed to be lemon sauce on the side - awful.I gave the new management time to get things right, but sadly they haven’t.

Soggy not freshly cooked takeaway they said 45 mins arrived much more quickly suspect it was done quickly in the microwave

I had a minor complaint about the takeaway which was dealt with efficiently and satisfactorily. Very impressed with how it was handled. Thank you.

Overcooked, almost burnt chow mien. Overcooked salt and pepper prawns. Undercooked duck. Aka non crispy. Ok prawn dumplings. Really not worth the money.

We’ve never had a worse Chinese takeaway ever, most of it went in the bin. Not cheap either, so I’m afraid that was the last time we will be going there. We did try a takeaway from there once before, they messed the order up and what they did send was awful. However, we put that down to a one off. Unfortunately we were wrong, that seems to be their norm. Don’t waste your time or money.

Dreadful. Keeps getting worse. 4 chicken dishes, all inedible, all wasted. Chicken, if you can call it that, is chewy and watery. You disappoint me greatly again Bon East. Change your chef, not your name.

Awful food well over priced. Will not be returning there again. Service was not much better then the food.

We were craving some good old traditional British Chinese food as we found in our home in America that American Chinese has a whole different set up localized menu traditions. We were missing things like sweetcorn chicken soup, crispy shredded beef, crispy seaweed (spring greens) and sizzle spicy scallops. From start to finish the service was excellent and food was the sort of great British Cantonese comfort food that hit the spot on a cold windy, rainy night in England. My only small criticism would be that the restaurant was a little cold - the heat could have come up a couple of notches. But overall, this was a very nice surprise.

Such such warm and friendly staff. Great food. Wide choice. Good Chilean Merlot! Overall both times we’ve visited it’s been a good experience even though mid week we were the knot diners. Didn’t feel awkward as the staff were so attentive but also subtle. Saturday night it was almost full as not in a location one would expect a good restaurant. Plenty of parking and they do take away! Anc large portions !! Recommended!!

We booked a table for a family dinner yesterday night and I couldn't believe my eyes when i walked in, the restaurant was so busy and it was FULLY BOOKED. From where I sat I can see that there were people at every single table. The restaurant's phone kept ringing and ringing, and people kept coming in to pick up their take away. Honestly I can't describe how busy this restaurant was. The foods were excellent and service was superb despite how busy it was.Overall we had a great evening and if you are looking for a place to have good food Bon East is definitely a place to go to. Don't feel worried or hold back by all these bad reviews you read on here and give it a go.

We used to get take aways from this restaurant all the time, when we lived locally 5 years ago.Following the high reviews on here, we ordered the Banquet A for two on a Thursday night, and were very disappointed. We had it as a take away, and to be a fair it was very quick - ready in 10 minutes. Maybe too quick?!The chicken satay sauce was covered in a thick layer of oil - so couldn’t really use. Rest of starters were okay to be fair.The aromatic duck was really over cooked and not good, it’s normally our favourite and we couldn’t even finish it! Hardly any meat! Then the main courses. The prawns were old and not very juicy, the Mongolian chicken was a weird flavour and a bit stodgy- not great. The seaweed and rice were fine.All in all we were so disappointed. We weren’t even close to eating 1/2 of it and threw the rest away, we’ve never done this. I’m afraid as no one course was nice, we won’t be going back.

We ordered a takeaway, which was really tasty. It arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Having lived in HK for 16 years, I was pleasantly surprised by the good authentic quality of this food! We loved the dim sum too.

We went here for an evening meal but we were the only group in the place the whole evening. Hence, there was no atmosphere. Meanwhile people came and went... coming in to collect their takeaways. The food itself was ok, but being sat in an empty restaurant felt like what it was. Just a process to eat. This is not my idea of a restaurant experience. The whole point of going to a restaurant is to have an experience, not just to eat. However, if eating is your focus, the food was ok, just nobody else in there.

Ordered a take-away Saturday evening (19th October), for collection ,couldn’t believe it would be ready for collection in 10 minutes, now I know why !!

Thought we would try here again, since the change (previous owners in prison!) as we had a bad meal after initial change in management/ownership.

Haven’t had a take away from here for some time but it is now under new ownership and so we gave it another go. I’m glad I did. We had quite a few portions (big family get together) and they were all v good and I would say just as good as before. Yup, so Bon East is back on the list.

As a mostly vegetarian family it was very disturbing to find meat in 4 out of 8 of our dishes, including a tofu dish and a vegetable noodle dish. We were very clear on ordering that, bar one fish dish, the whole family were vegetarian.

Been here a few times, going a few years back it used to be one of the best places to go for a Chinese in the area, but now I'm afraid I would not reccomend it atall. Really do feel the standards of service and foods are not quite what they used to be.

We've been takeaway and visiting customers for probably 20 years but based on the last few takeaways it might be time to check out somewhere else

We have been going to Bon East for many years, it was always our family go to place for a celebration meal. We also often went on a Sunday for the set price meal. We went a few months back and noticed a difference, we asked if it had changed hands and were reassured it hadnt, the same people, same chef, no change they told us. But things were definitely different, and the meal was not up to usual standards. We since discovered that they had two card machines, and were not declaring all their takings. Naughty Naughty! Two of them are now in prison.

Its pretty local to me, so I decided to check out this place based on good google and TA reviews, but it seems it has changed hands and the quality has gone south.

This was the first time we have been since the ownership had changed hands. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food we had was good, especially the duck and pancakes. The fried rice was excellent and the Kung po prawns crispy and the sauce very sweet and sour at the same time. There could have been more chopped red and green peppers in the sauce but that was a minor point. I have read some negative reviews regarding the food and I do not think it is justified. I shall definitely be going again!

As a neighbour of Bon East we have been enjoying their food for over six years. We have had two takeaways since it changed hands to give the benefit of the doubt after the first, but I can honestly say it was some of the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Batter is now either dripping with grease and soggy or over cooked and hard, rice is tasteless and fatty and the black bean sauce is bland (and mysteriously no longer black or with any signs of black bean in it). We never minded paying a little more for the food at Bon East previously, but paying anything at all for food this unpleasant was so disappointing. Sadly the end of an era; we won’t be trying again.

Ordered a takeaway on a quiet Monday. Food was warm and delicious, service was friendly a efficient, and they included some lovely short ribs as a complimentary dish. Definitely going back.

We were worried about coming back here after the new owners took over and reading bad reviews but wish I hadn’t let the bad reviews put me off. We went on bank holiday Monday evening and had the all you can eat buffet for £19. The staff were very friendly and one of the original waiters is still there. The food was lovely as it was before the take over. My advice to you is - go and give it a try

Visited Bon East to celebrate my husband ‘s birthday with 28 other guests yesterday . The staff had everything prepared in a lovely room iced water on the tables . Everybody was amazed by the excellent service and the food was freshly cooked and amazing more than plenty. Everybody was so impressed with the service and the food. Even though some people have put bad reviews we are so glad we ignored them and went with majority of good reviews. Thank so much for making our day excellent! We will be back.

We've been enjoying Bon East for years,. Things have clearly gone drastically wrong and all the beloved staff that had been there making it feel like a family restaurant all that time have obviously had to leave .They were so wonderful with the children when they were littte . With this change of ownership the food and service has massively suffered , cheaper ingredience cooked without love or flair. End of an era.

It appears to be under new management. Recent takeaway was inedible and went in the bin. It's been a bit hit and miss for a while but now...

Awful take away again tonight. Special fried rice had 3 prawns & 4 pieces of pork that were all smaller than peas. The rice was dripping with grease. I don’t mind paying more for good food but this is appalling quality & expensive.

This reastaurant has been through a bad patch and we were a bit apprehensive prior to our booked family Sunday buffet lunch. Quiet compared to Sundays in the past, but we were delighted with the quality of the food and service, back to how it was in the good old days. Adult price for the Sunday buffet has been reduced from £25 to £19 - very good value.

Mostly I write positive reviews but I felt I had to comment on the take away we had last night. I read a few other recent reviews and totally agree.

We’ve been having takeaways from Bon East for 15 years. Since recent change of ownership the food quality has gone dramatically down hill, dishes tasteless, poor quality chicken, and on several occasions they’ve sent us dishes we didn’t even order. An incredibly dramatic demise of what used to be the best Chinese restaurant in Farnham. Very disappointing.

We went today for Mothers Day lunch. We were first in at midday and made very welcome. The service was great as always and the food was delicious. Hot and tasty. We had a great lunch and always recommend Bon East to others.

My normal Chinese take away has recently changed owner and got expensive. So looked around and found Bon East. The Take Away service is great and the food quality is exceptional. I normally order a beer while waiting and the food is ready before I finished the beer. Even the rice is brilliant. I have been back 4 times and the quality and service remains high.

Been having takeaways from Bon East for over three years and always been very good but last night when I ordered one after three days helping a friend move it was terrible, tasteless and smelt bad. The boiled rice was stodgy and clumped together as in a reheat. The company was taken over two months ago and it has gone downhill! The girl taking my order did not understand English and on previous occasions my phone number picked up my name and address. The delivery man was also rude and surly!

I have been a regular customer since it was opened and lived in Farnham for almost 20 years.

Very poor customer service experienced. When staying at Tilford Woods lodge retreat only 3.4 miles away I was told it was too far and would have to collect! That wouldn’t be very relaxing would it now! Will be advising Tilford Woods lodge retreat staff not to recommend anymore!

We’ve been regulars for the past ten years, mainly for takeaway, travelling 25 mile round trips to get the best Chinese food in the area - fresh, good ingredients, no MSG. We used to live in Hong Kong, so we’d consider ourselves pretty familiar with Cantonese cooking.

The Sunday buffet is the best quality and value Chinese food buffet available. Each dish is very well presented, plentiful, and delicious tasting (to the western taste)

We held a 60th birthday party at Bon East last night....what a fantastic time we had..excellent food, service and attention to detail held in our own private area if the restaurant. Everyone who came thought it was the best Chinese they have ever had. We are so lucky to have it so near to us.

Lovely New Years Eve takeaway. Was a little nervous ordering as a few negative reviews on social media but we had no issues. Expensive but worth it 👍🏻

Having been a visitor to this restaurant for many years, we were put off going for a pre-Christmas family dinner due to the poor reviews on trip advisor.

This has been our favourite restaurant for 10 years. Was skeptical after reading reviews that bon east was under new management and now terrible. We had to see for ourselves. It was as good as ever, if not better. Sunday all you can eat dinner highly recommended. And the grilled dumplings are divine!

Bon east is our local Chinese restaurant and we never had issues with the food.

This restaurant used to be so good but it has hit rock bottom after a change of management. We've been getting takeaways and eating out there since 2006 and never had any problem. Alas, no more. It is shockingly bad but still very expensive.

We went today 8 of us for my brothers birthday. We had previously asked for a particular table which we were seated at.

Took my grandaughter this time and she had never eaten chinese before but absolutely loved it. She was up for trying the chop sticks too. Always have good food at this restaurant and the service is always great.

Such a wonderful take away. Extremely efficient taking the order, prompt delivery and outstanding food. An absolute must to try!!!

My partner and I visited Bon East for a Sunday all you can eat meal. We had read really good reviews and had been recommended to us so we really excited for this night out. Sadly, we didn’t really rate food very highly at all. Maybe it was a one off but, we shall not be returning.

I’ve been visiting Bon East for years and the food is always excellent. MSG is not added to their food. The portions are generous, the staff are very efficient, and the takeaway delivery service is always excellent too. I can’t fault Bon East at all.

We have been using this restaurant since it opened and had never failed to disappoint. However ordered takeaway last week, not only was order wrong it was in inedible clearly reheated hard and baked up. We phoned to complain and were given a load of abuse after much arguing they agreed to refund. Very poor treatment of a customer who has literally spent hundreds in takeaways and eating in over the years.

Went to eat at Bon East on Thursday night, it was a last minute decision. As always the food was OK however for the price, the portion sizes have definitely got a lot smaller (to the point that the dishes you eat out of were no bigger than a large egg cup!) and it shouldn't be OK, it should be a lot better. That was the OK part of it, the worst part was the waiter - rude, abrupt and to say we were rushed was an understatement, in and out with starter and main in 35 minutes, with 1 drink each - costing just over £50 - not good, won't be returning in a hurry. You can tell it's gone downhill, they only open up a 3rd of the restaurant now, I remember when the whole place was packed most nights - shame as this was a real 'treat' place for us to go - not any more.

Went to Bon East for a family Birthday celebration. Had been told it was a good place to eat...The waiters were polite and helpful.However the food was awful it was badly over salted never eaten Chinese like that before. Like eating a pot of salt!! Sadly there us something lacking with this Restaurant. We will not be going back.!!!

Took my family there for fathers day and had a great time. Food was good and the staff were nice. Might come back on a normal Sunday for the buffet menu

Shame to say but the food is terrible now. We have eaten at Bon East consistantly for the past four years but never again. The food portions are so small its a joke and to top that its the quality of the food. Over cooked or precooked rubbish. Tastless dry dishes and the ambience has gone. The mains for two were so small we ate out twice that night in may 2018. Whatever has happened you need to sought it out rapid.

Tonight i was close to walking out. This place was good at one time. Tonight we ordered 2 times because first order was wrong. Then starters came out well i wish i had just got a asda curry (lets all be honest thats saying somthing) we then got questioned and watched as we would not eat it and exsplained it tasted wrong. Everything hard. Finaly came to the main. My partners came out fine tasted bland but at least the meal was right. Mine well was not right was like eating chicken in tar. Funny enough the table behind us ordered the same dish and was also moaning about it being wrong. They had also ordered 2 times and wrong food turned up and had to order again. Well i will not set one foot back in bon east in farnham keep your rude staff and disgusting food.

We went for Sunday lunch with our two children. The service was poor, the food dry and unappetising and the staff disinterested and rude. However, the main issue was the cost: Well over £100 without wine ...in fact all we had was one diet coke for my son and mineral water...this restaurant is very over-priced and is poor quality. Frankly, you are better buying some chinese food from your local supermarket.

We visited this restaurant for a family members birthday dinner, and were a little disappointed.

Where do I begin? I have only given one star on this review as there was no opportunity for a zero rating! One star is FAR too generous!!! Greeted and seated by a miserable waiter who asked what drinks we would like. One of my guests asked for a glass of wine - we were told they do not sell wine by the glass but we would have to purchase a bottle. The cheapest Mickey Mouse bottle was £20!!! I requested a cider - no cider. Only Tiger beer. Ordered a pint of beer - a half arrived - at a charge of £3.50 - Extortoinate price!!!! So a pint of beer would be £7.00. Seriously? Menu was sparse. I ordered ribs - received 5 miniscule ribs that most probably came off a small rodent they were that small. My wife had Chicken Thai Green Curry - no spice flavour - was completely insipid and bland. My brother in law asked for prawn crackers - they don't exist in this restaurant - neither does curry sauce!!!!! Fried rice was so salty I couldn't eat it. A member of staff sat drinking a glass of wine just across from us having a conversation on his mobile phone which was on speaker phone - until I yelled at him and he curtailed the call. He continued to sit there and was clearly unwell as he kept sneezing and blowing his nose throughout our meal. Nice! The bill came and guess what? A 10 per cent gratuity added to the bill!!! So in essence...... Extortionate prices...... Rude staff...... The worst Chinese food we've ever experienced. It MUST be bad when you have to go home and cook cheese on toast coz you're still hungry! Poor customer service, the restaurant advertises opening times from 12:00 to 14:30 on its web site.

This has been our 3rd visit to this restaurant in a year and each time we were not disappointed.

I have been searching for a decent chinese restaurant for a few months now and so am glad to have found Bon East. The service was very good and the waiter was happy to explain some of the dishes to us (and we heard the same waiter give a lot suggestions and descriptions to the next table as well). I expect that like most food, there is a personal preference to them, but I found the Lemon Chicken to be the best I have tasted. It was a thin fillet rather than balls or clumps that I have usually experienced. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was not thick and sickly like other places.

Lovely meal as always. I always bring my family here for special treats and have yet to disappointed. The staff are always so helpful and polite

Have ordered a few times from Bon East as takeaway. Three times we have had issues with our order; the first we had two wrong meals, the second we had someone else’s food and the third the meat was completely inedible. Usually we are reasonable and understand that they are busy and it is difficult to control drivers, issues with delivery so we have simply telephoned and the issues have been rectified, albeit with a long wait. However, on the third occasion we complained (as this was related with quality of the food), the guy that answered the phone was polite and said he would credit us two meals for next time we called and apologised, explaining that they had had other people saying the “meat was tough”.

We have been here many times before and we have always enjoyed the food and how helpful the staff have...

Have been eating at the Bon East since it opened. The service is still fantastic & the food can not be beaten! Whenever any friends or family come to stay it is always our Sunday place of choice for dinner! The buffet is lovely but has always been expensive. I dont believe service charge should be added when only 2 people!

We had the Sunday buffet at £19 per person; "eat as much as you like". The usual full menu is not available on Sundays.

Just come back from eating one of their menu B banquet meals for 4 people ( about £23 per head) great mixed starter then plenty of crispy duck followed by mains. My favourite was the Mongolian fillet beef! Well worth a visit and will be back for more.

After finding this venue I have to say this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. The buffet was quite different being a Sunday but everyone had a fab meal. I would say for me the non buffet is amazing and so much choice but the buffet does limit so options. Otherwise a fab venue!
