Not brilliant, just Ok. Chicken was tough, though lemon sauce was excellent. Spare ribs - not that tasty. King prawns in 2 dishes were fine.

We had a fantastic meal,all the food was very fresh ,authentic ,beautifully presented on white China,a lovely restaurant. The staff are excellent and Vince a star , lucky star !

Food is outstanding I always come from Alton to here because it is such good quality and flavoursome I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Never disappointed!

Order her often and accept it’s expensive for what it is but generally better than alternatives. Completely wrong food sent this time despite correct order showing on system. Only resolution was 50% refund of appetisers. All quite bazaar and dismissive. Won’t use them again.

Won't ever be ordering here again absolutely devastated paid 46 pounds for a treat couldn't eat it any of it most of it had no taste chicken was fatty and chewy curry sauce was water with spice shame as staff are really nice and friendly but they definitely can not cook I really hope my little girl is not sick as she is only one that ate any please save your money and go somewhere else

We had our first Takeaway delivered from the Lucky Star last week. It was very good. The spring rolls had retained their crispiness, as had the excellent chicken kung po, while the king prawn ginger and spring onion had a tasty bite to the ginger and an adequate number of prawns. Altogether a great meal, albeit a little pricey with the extra (delivery & service) charges thrown in. However, we felt we had value for money.

Had a fantastic family meal for a birthday here and we honestly couldn't fault anything. For 6 of us it was very reasonable, everything was spot on and being a fan of Chinese cuisine it's probably one of the best we've had comparing it to faves growing up and even Chinatown - definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

We have been using it often for home delivery, but they only offer it at dinner time, so we went for sit in lunch: worst experience yet! When I called they said they they did not need reservation and were open all day, so we reached after 2.00 pm… waiters were clearly in a bad mood and very unfriendly, one middle aged man was extra rude! The food was not as good as usual: old hot and sour sauce where I even found a chicken bone; chicken dry and prowns made us sick and they added in auto 10% tip for a 2 people table: horrible experience and you lost regular weekly customers

The only good part of my evening was the little chinese boy finishing me off under the table.

Bought salt and pepper chicken from them and the chicken was clearly rancid - why would anyone sell rotten meat to another human? Do you hate money? Do you hate your business? Do you not want repeat business? IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT BUSINESS, CLOSE SHOP AND GO HOME.

I’ve eaten here regularly and always had a great time. Vincent and Chris are so tentative and really know how to add value. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for a treat!

Delivery - Food was okay but arrived 50 mins late and cold. If I give them another go I’ll order over the phone and collect which is what I’d recommend everyone else does. Collection - Piping hot and delicious food, exactly what you’re looking for from a Chinese take away. Lovely staff too - it’s fast become my go to Sunday night reward.

Vince and the team at Lucky Star hosted my Dad’s surprise 80th Birthday yesterday and it was superb. From the early stages of organising with Vince (who is SO lovely), nothing was too much trouble and he was really helpful and accommodating. On the night the staff were great; really attentive and friendly. There was plenty of food and it was excellent quality too. They were also really helpful and careful to cater for guests with nut allergies too!!! Everyone had a REALLY great evening and made this celebration one to remember for all the right reasons!! Thank You Vince and the team - we will certainly be back 🥰🥰 xx

I feel a bit for this place, because it deserves to be far busier than it’s been the last couple of times I’ve been in. The food is tasty and delicious, the staff are great and fun to talk to, and the prices are super reasonable for both wine and food. Back when this place was Bon east it was always rammed, yet the food they’re serving now is just as good. Hope they turn it around.

We had a large party of 13 for a 93rd birthday party . Couldn’t fault anything . Service excellent and made a fuss of the birthday girl . Thank you for making it a special evening

Very welcoming staff, especially the host. He was most helpful whilst we were deciding on our menu choices and gave good advice/alternatives for our friend's allergy concerns. Service was excellent and all the food was delicious. We went there following a recommendation and would be more than happy to do the same. I'm sure we will return.

I went to the lucky star ⭐️ last with four other friends. It was I really lovely Tasty meal but unfortunately one of the staff made us feel very uncomfortable eating Our meal as she just Stood Staring at us, waiting for us to finish our meal, so she could clear away . Bearing in mind, we had to wait for our main course for very long time so it was as not Thought it was getting near to them closing. Yes they were busy doing take aways but I do think they should not make There customers eating in wait then make them rush to eat there meal 🥘. That was the only down fall with evening

The food here is absolutely superb. It's hard to find a good Chinese takeaway (anywhere) these days but my wife and I were not disappointed. Everything arrived fresh and hot. We will be regulars for sure.

Best takeaway and restaurant to dine in staff very polite as always. It’s better to order through call not on the other applications. Fresh food every time benefits of calling them directly gives you 10% discount and make sure you go and collect. It’s been a here me living in Farnham and lucky stars food has become my comfort food.

epic food would go again. even better staff the service was impeccable the young man that was serving us was very nice i think he was called zihao and we made sure to leave a very good tip for him.

Great food, take aways are usually fabulous. However! (And I’m not one to complain or leave reviews), myself and my good lady popped into the restaurant last week for a meal, and were basically taken advantage of which I’m greatly disappointed about, the restaurant really let themselves down. We were served a mixed starter, barely big enough for one (we’re not 15 stone fast food whales either). I assumed at the time it was for one until the bill arrived and we were charged £20. It was not about the money, it’s the principle - perhaps with the restaurant being very quiet after Easter, they were trying to get the till up. The lady in charge was not prepared to provide any remuneration. What made me laugh is that the young lad serving even said he was surprised at how little food there was. Very short sighted of the restaurant considering our loyal custom in the past. We were also a very unwell for several days, but I can’t say for certain if it was the restaurant but most likely. I’d save your money and eat elsewhere in Farnham. (And cue restaurant - the menu clearly states xyz - it doesn’t, and you took the pi*s.)

I cannot understand why there are any poor reviews fot this restaurant. We have dined there several times and the food and service have always been great. On 5th April we were a party of six celebrating a birthday which one of our grandsons and his partner treated us all to. The staff were great as was the food and at the end of the meal a toffee apple, toffee banana and ice cream dessert was prsented along with a candle! What a lovely finish! Thank you Andrew Y

Amazing food. I had lunch here and it was just perfection. The menu for 2 was so nice. I love this restaurant and cannot wait to visit again. I live in Portsmouth and have no problem driving here. It’s worth it.

I have used the delivery service and dined in many times. However, last year I was not allowed the usual Sunday buffet as I was alone. Sometimes I dine out alone sometimes with family and friends. I always enjoyed the Sunday buffet. Its a shame they don't entertain singles. I have never seen the place 20% occupied so its not because of space. Their website fails to point out this key detail. Do not go alone or you will be wasting your time.

Terrible food, Chicken balls served pink in the middle! Complained about food……..management was then rude and extremely confrontational! Just in it for the money no customer satisfaction! Now 4 customers that will probably wake up with food poisoning! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

Absolutely the worst take away I have ever tasted. Reheated leftovers. Soggy batter. Chewy squid. Tasteless and chewy crispy beef. Clearly reheated leftovers, all for £45. Do not recommend at all.

The food is really for western people taste and the chef didn’t really know how to cook Chinese food even we have asked. All the dishes are cooked with starch powder… not recommend if you are really looking for a Chinese meal.

Just went to try out this restaurant to celebrate our 43rd anniversary ordered a nice of wine and our meal we got our starters and 30 minutes later were still waiting for our drink. Couldn’t catch either waiters eye. People coming in after us seemed to be getting served and made to feel invisible. Got up and left in the end didn’t charge us for the starter but ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening. Won’t be going back again or recommend to friends. Used to go there all the time when it was called Bon east.

My partner and I visited for a Valentine's dinner on Monday for the first time. We ordered the set menu for 2.The mixed platter was nice, but the duck wasn't very hot, and the main course was very poor. The main course was also cold, and the mixed vegetables were not very tasty at all. On the whole a poor experience for our first time visit, and the service was slow waiting for our main course, which turned out to not be worth the wait.....

Delighted with the wonderful meal we were served on Wednesday lunchtime. Group of 13 of us, speedy delivery, everything beautifully cooked and presented, extensive Vegetarian banquet amongst other more traditional dishes. Many other takeaways overfill on water chestnuts and carrots, not the Lucky Star. Seriously the best Chinese takeaway I've had (and I am a bit of an expert, my Mum was part Chinese). We will not go anywhere else now. Thank you for wonderful food and service.

Really disappointed. Missing a rice, curry was watery and flavourless. No prawn crackers either. It’s traditional to send prawn crackers. Poor Chinese.

This was our first take away for 2 years and a farewell meal for a family member returning back to Spain from the Christmas break. This was a disappointing effort and we are a family that enjoys a takeaway in general. The chicken starter and the three other chicken dishes we ordered we stringy , indicating that this was frozen chicken and it had way to much moisture in the chicken. Therefore Chewy. The smoked shredded chicken was anything but smoke or shredded. Instead it was tasteless and this is a firm family favourite which is often fought over to finish. The Lamb and ginger dish simply did not taste right and my dad who seldom complains , did, even he stopped at the first mouthful. Having lived on Weydon lane in the past this restaurant was known to me on reputation but failed to live up to its past success as Bon East. Not to be completely negative, the sesame prawn toast , seaweed, egg fried rice and crispy beef were very good. At £84 for a takeaway this was really poor for such a spend and a large amount went into the bin. Being one of the only Chinese restaurants in the area it has failed to capture the market to deliver a quality take away. As it’s s take away this review is key as I am not in the restaurant to say something which I would have. At the point of is everything ok when you eat out , it would have been no. Delicious food and great service. Was a lovely date. They even let us swap items on the set menu which we appreciated. 1 thing we didn't like though was there was an odd smell that really hit the back of your throat. Really triggered my asthma. Couldn't tell if it was from incense or something similar.

Ordered food for delivery, was absolutely not as described on the menu. Management couldn't care less when I politely said so. 1st and last order at this place. Clue is, if they can deliver faster than Macdonalds then your food is sitting in a pot staying warm on a stove.

Went here for a relaxed Chinese lunch last Friday. The staff were really nice and friendly, the food was excellent and the interior far exceeded our expectations. All in all one of the nicest Chinese restaurants that I have been in.

Ordered peking chicken but what arrived... I think was tofu, but it definitely wasn't chicken. Would not recommend.

When we booked by phone we were told we could have the Sunday buffet menu this proved to be incorrect and we had to use the main menu. Food below the standard we have experienced in the past. Staff not particularly helpful and quite rude on occasions. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

All of it was delicious. The Sui mai, the beef they somehow made juicy, the sauce, the rice. All of it was great and they put me in a food coma. I don’t think I can get up from my bed for another 2 hours

The food we had it was very nice and tasty, as I expected from a Chinese restaurant. We had the Sunday buffet for £19 and we ended up very full and pleased with the food (drinks and desserts not included in the price). I definitely recommend this place and I will come back.

We had an great takeaway from Lucky Star on Friday evening. We ordered two beancurd dishes from the menu and they made a chicken fried rice dish for our fussy daughter even though it wasn't. All were excellent , freshly made, good size portions and very tasty. Will definitely be back soon and hope to eat when we're back to normal.

Absolutely gross. Chicken tasted of fish and was full of water, funny texture to (not sure if it was even chicken tbh). Chicken balls dripping in fat and tiny portions of chicken. Would not recommend.

The best Chinese restaurant and take away in the Farnham area. Lovely staff and very quick service, the food is also very good! Their online order system (via their website) is also very good, use it rather than deliveroo if you want to support them and save another platform taking a cut! Throughout COVID they've also had very sensible precautions put in place.

Delivery turned up very quickly, which would normally be a good thing, but everything was extremely dry and tasted old. Most likely we were served up buffet food that had been sitting out for ages. Had to add soy sauce to season it too as everything was bland. First time ordering and also last time. Avoid.
