The best restaurants in Waverley South East

I booked and paid for my Grandsons’s and family to go skating on the 23rd to be told on the 24th they would be closing so therefore no skating on the 27th. Two very disappointed Grandchildren . Interesting in only a few hours after taking my money they cancel via a email .I look forward to getting my money back and sadly will probably never think about going to future events. Not very professional they have not even replied to my email.

I was served by a lovely gentleman called Jeet who was very friendly, patient, polite and helpful! I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction and the pizzas I order were perfect! Great service, would recommend to a friend and I will be going back there soon!

My family have had many excellent meals at this pub over the years. Last Friday we visited with two friends. My partially sighted friend ordered Moroccan lamb which did not say on the menu that it contained chillies. Had we had known that my friend would not have chosen it as she has a delicate stomach. Her husband had to remove them from her food. I had ham egg and chips. The eggs were so under done that they were inedible. The two men had calves liver with mashed potatoes which was were just warm. We mentioned it to the waitress who said “oh dear” and offered me one free latte. Very poor.

I have been staying with them for a long time and every time I stay they make me feel really welcome and comfortable. Worth staying and the food in restaurant is amazing as well.

Not very welcoming, and advised that we couldn't use their carpark now costing of £60 for a pint!

Had a great recent Sunday lunch, roast leg of lamb, and sea bass, both done perfectly., along with drinks.Coming from someone who used to hate rhubarb and custard from the horror days of school lunches, I can recomend the rhubard, custard and cream knickerbocker glory, for a desert.

Unfortunately very quiet. Beer 🍺 fine though. More atmosphere in a morgue.

Had to leave without eating! We had booked lunch for two adults and two toddlers - got the dough balls for them and drinks but waited 50 mins - and still no food. No info from staff. Restaurant filled up and no-one was getting food - apart from delivery riders picking up orders! Staff indifferent to our concerns. We paid for our drinks and left - very hungry - and very annoyed. Come on Pizza Express - treat your customers better than this!

Food was well nice, maybe make the special curry more saucy. The meat used was really nice. Got Singapore chow mein this time and it was bang on! Loved it! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely appalling service, my close friend got dominos and when we went to eat we found mushroom on the pizza, it was not what we asked for and my friend is ALLERGIC!. When we called to let them know and get compensation for it, the manager replied with it’s not all over the pizza so we were fine, and that she would only give us half of what we paid for. She was incredibly rude and continued to repeat it wasn’t all over the pizza just on a part of it. Which is incredibly wrong considering it shouldn’t matter it was on the pizza. Would not recommend going there.

We often pop in here during the summer with grandchildren. Always find it very good for brunch/lunch outside with the ducks. We popped in for Sunday lunch recently and had a very nice meal in pleasant surroundings. It was busy, but they found us a nice table downstairs. The food was very good, as was the service, so there were no complaints from us at all. Will visit again.

All I can say is I’m awaiting the meal. I’ve been waiting A LONG TIME. Uber Eats just give no answer. A £19 meal and I feel 2 fingers. Don’t order. If I receive LATE I will update. It’s 0134 on a Monday evening and no answers and they don’t answer phone despite my £19 50 minutes ago

Dropped in for breakfast with the kids expecting to have pancakes, only to find that the pancakes were not on the breakfast menu and only available on the lunch menu. I questioned why the menu states “New American style pancakes served all day until 3.30pm”. Got a complete blank. Unbelievable! Most cafes and tea shops provide pancakes as a breakfast item. The kids breakfast menu could only offer a fry-up! And since when was black pudding ever found on an under 12’s kids menu? Very disappointed and only had drinks, then moved on elsewhere for our pancakes.
