Average food, crudités to share 2 very stingy pots of hummus between 4 people and a lot of heirloom carrots. Service was good but the food is just too overpriced. Excellent wine menu - of course. Beautiful planting out the front now all dying from lack of maintenance since the refurb.

We live locally in Haslemere so have had the opportunity to visit the Coppa Club on many occasions, usually for breakfast or brunch and have had an overwhelmingly positive experience. We did have a family dinner at the beginning of 2023 which was a mixed experience, some dishes were good, some not so good but have not been back to try again (for no particular reason at all). It is September 2024 now and I was looking for a place to take my elderly mother and some other members of our family for a nice brunch in Haslemere before we drove up for a day at Wisley and needed a place which felt a bit more special than a regular cafe (we really like Hemmingways as an our everyday kind of place). The Coppa Club was the only real option but after reading some recent reviews, was a bit worried how it was going to pan out for our party of 7. We arrived and was seated very quickly and although the place was not that busy, the atmosphere was still very nice... we do like the decor a lot. Amy was our waitress and she was delightful from the outset, nothing was too much trouble. I have to admit, our order was not that straight forward with things being changed/added to and my father in law's request for soft poached eggs (or they would go back... gulp) was thrown in for good measure. Oh and my wife's coffee needed to come with the food and not before (yes, I know, we've been together for 30 years so I am used to it). Boom, everything arrived together, in very good time as did our drinks. Amy was completely unflustered with our picky requirements and delivered everything with a smile. All of the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon was crispy as requested and the food tasted really fresh - top marks to the kitchen staff here. I thought the service from this place really deserved a 5 star review, just wished I had taken a few pictures.

We decided to try The Coppa Club as somewhere we hadn’t visited, after reading raving reviews we thought it would be a good shout. We booked for a party of 8 to celebrate a Birthday. Service was fantastic and faultless, great cocktails and wine. However, the food…… What a let down. Very overpriced for below par meals. The prawn starter was served on warm bread with warmish prawns! For mains 5 of us had the 10oz steak at £34.50 pp an extra £2 for chimichuri, the steak tasted horrendous and served with about 5 fries and a small handful of wilted/brown/mouldy looking lettuce leaves. The chimmichuri wasn’t traditional chimmichuri, just a pot of oil with no flavour, completely inedible. The peppercorn sauce, again inedible, more a pot of stock cubes. One of the party members had the Tuna, this had no flavour and looked anaemic. Another party member had the fish cakes, tasteless… The only pleasant tasting dish was the baby squid starter and the Burrata, which you can’t really go wrong with!

It has such a lovely vibe and decor, food was really good but this is let down by the awful service. It’s such a shame as it could be a wonderful place but sadly I won’t be returning. The staff are clueless very pleasant but clearly haven’t been trained at all, no manager that I could see.

Beautiful building and decor but absolutely hopeless service. No one to greet you. Sullen and rude staff. Could be wonderful with the correct management.

The comfy cosy relaxing areas we used to regularly enjoy are now monopolised all day by people and their laptops working and holding business meetings on their phones. The food today was very disappointing. Luke warm poached eggs with shrivelled dry whites and sourdough toast cut so thinly it resembled crisp bread. Asked for a replacement thicker piece of toast for which I was then charged extra and then paid the high service charge. Would rather have stayed home and cooked!

We tried this restaurant when it opened and the food was cold and the service lacking ,but it can take time for teams to get things working, so we thought we would try it again despite the reviews. Sadly it has not improved, actually it is worse, the food we were served was not cooked, the fish was raw in the middle and the salad really watery. They did refund us, but unfortunately it feels like they just don't care or value their customers. It really is a shame as they clearly spent a lot on the place and it is a lovely setting, Hopefully they can turn things around.

This review has been a long time coming. I want to like this place but they are making it very difficult. Most of the staff come across as vastly unqualified or incredibly rude, or both. Having said that our waitress today (I’m hoping she is the manager but it wasn’t clear) was polite and helpful and apologised for the man making coffees behind the bar who was so incredibly rude it was almost funny. (Almost…) I don’t know why I keep going back. I guess (a) there aren’t many places to go in Haslemere and the interior is actually quite nice and (b) I keep thinking it’s a one off and the service might improve. It’s why I’ve never written a review before. I always feel hopeful that it will be better next time. We’ve had incompetent (but mostly well meaning) waiters/waitresses, a forgotten order that meant we sat for an hour only to be told there was no food coming, a waitress that was berated by the chef so loudly that we could hear her sobs from the kitchen, lacklustre food when we have managed to actually get food, and then a particular low point was being given a caffeinated coffee despite asking for a decaf and explaining that I have a heart arrhythmia that can be triggered by caffeine. It did trigger an arrhythmia and I was quite unwell. They still insisted it was decaffeinated and kept it on the bill. I didn’t make much of a fuss (I felt too ill to complain) but I was stunned at their lack of concern and zero effort to make any gesture of goodwill for serving me something that caused me a real problem. The rude man behind the bar today was the final straw. I watched him speak to customer after customer with such an unpleasant tone and then watched him struggle to carry out his job. Maybe he’s just not qualified to do what he’s meant to be doing. I wish someone would sort this place out. It has so much potential but as it stands right now it should be avoided at all costs, in my opinion. However I know I’m not the only person to think this as another couple were loudly expressing their dull view of the rude barman as we left.

An impromptu dinner at Moma delivered on taste and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Great atmosphere and service complimented delicious 2 course meal. Expensive at £115 for two but justified.
