The best restaurants in The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Our family recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at Toby Carvery Rhoose. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed family dinner. The star of the show, of course, was the carvery. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. The selection of vegetables was fresh and plentiful, and the Yorkshire puddings were fluffy and delicious. The kids' menu offered plenty of options to keep the little ones happy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were particularly impressed with the speed of service, even though the restaurant was quite busy.

Bar maid was friendly. waitress threw food on table, breaded mushrooms frozen in middle, nachos covered too much and soggy, in fact it’s the worst food I have had in my life I won’t be returning!

Another delicious Sunday roast, never disappoints. The perfect venue to meet up with family, friends, and our four legged friends. And always a warm friendly atmosphere.

We ordered a number of Pizzas from Domino's Barry for a friend's Birthday get together. I had a few enquiries so I spoke the assistant manager Sabbir who was very helpful and polite. The pizzas were great and despite the store being busy they arrived hot and fresh.

Been here quiet a few times for steak amazing taste better every time excellent service aswell coleslaw and peppercorn sauce 10/10

Three women stood behind the counter took an age to take our order then an age to bring it out. £26 for fish chips chicken nuggets. Don’t offer take away boxes, won’t give take away bags. Disinterested, rude and ignorant. Plenty of good chippies around I would avoid this place like the plague.

The local Welsh Black Steak was probably the best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious blue cheese sauce. A first class meal served by friendly attentive staff - an experience to be repeated as soon as possible. My wife had the sea bass which too was excellent.

Zara was brilliant, so welcoming and helpful throughout. The food was excellent, the menu innovative and varied, the cube restaurant off the courtyard was comfortable and we were pleased it was all so dog friendly. Thank you

Fantastic spot overlooking the sea. I have been coming here for 24 years. Wonderful homemade cakes. Vegan sausage rolls made with vegetables and lentils. Great staff, good strong coffee. A Llantwit Major institution.

Observation: Not comfortable with dogs in the restaurant area. Staff appearance and hand cleanliness needs to be much improved.

Two friends and I visited here, and the food was excellent, and service was speedy. However we found the staff to be fairly passive aggressive and abrasive. We went up to the counter after finishing our lunch to order some tea and have a little cake for desert and instead they just told us our total of the bill and seemed annoyed/frustrated when we wanted to order more things. Would definitely visit again as the food we had was excellent, was just a shame about that staffs attitudes, I would usually put this down to a bad day, but after reading many other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence

Ordered 2 rolls, ham salad and cheese and onion. Absolute rip off, £6.45 each for a small bap to take away. Definitely not good value for money, 5 bites and it was gone, this was supposed to be a lunch time meal ?? Would not recommend

I was with a friend and we both chose the same thing Croque Madam on October 7. Was a lovely day and a super location so we sat outside. I ordered my CM without mozzarella cheese. My friends CM arrived all nice and toasted but mine was pale and smeared on the top with bechamel sauce which gave it a soggy top and didn’t even look toasted. I looked inside mine and managed to eat some of the bottom bread and a few of the mushrooms but the whole thing didn’t have any flavour. The chef had even forgotten to add Dijon mustard to mine, I knew this as my B sauce was pure white and my friends was yellow. Never seen two of the same dishes look so different and wasn’t to do with the mozzarella. I could hardly eat it so returned the enclosed plate to the she lady who had served us but she was now sitting comfortably on a nice chair on her phone. I explained the above to her, no offer of a refund or part refund, she could see i had hardly eaten anything she just said she would tell the chef. Shocking to pay and leave hungry.

Amazing place! Discovered by random! Very nice staff and the food is just delicious! Had a carrot cake which was absolutely yummy! Blankets at our disposal, nice touch!

the service is disgusting worst take away i have ever had the food was cold the chicken was pink also the service was horrendous the fella on the phone was being rude and disrespect full and talking about me in his own language which i can understand i would not recommend as it ruined my night.
