Waited ages to get served just to be told we couldn't be served hot food because it's "too busy" wouldn't recommend under staffed

Don't know what happened to the ice cream portion size today but it was small. Very disappointing. Not good value at £3.50.

Ice cream is not impressive. Fish & chips similarly. Look for something else.

Worst cookie dough ice cream I’ve ever had other flavours are good though kinder bueno flavour is my personal favourite overall 4 stars specifically because of the cookie dough ice cream being so bad

On a misty damp afternoon in February the Pier Cafe made a delightful place for a cup of tea after a brisk walk along the pier. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere and an excellent cuppa!!!

Friendly staff, but avoid fish and chips, am feeling nauseous an hour after eating. Frozen fish & chips, unusual for a seafront place.

Always got the overdone flavourless fish, very oily.

I tried only icecream, the location is amazing.

Very impressed with the service today. Had a soft cone and was very pleased when the person who served me showed me where the soft napkins when she saw me struggling to get one out of the container of thinner napkins.

I went with my partner to have chips at the pier... It was a disappointment, tasteless chips ever. No flavour at all.

Pier Cafe is a perfect place at the beach for refreshing food. They serve fish & chips, fries, ice creams, hot and cold drinks, burgers, and hot food. We ordered two ice creams - Rasberry Ripple and Oreo Ice Cream. Both ice creams were perfect.

Rude staff, came in for a breakfast. Have been a number of times before and had great service. This time though an incredibly rude member of staff greeted me and lied to me claiming that food is only served after 11am saying "it says so on the menu you should read it" the menu stated breakfast is served UNTIL 11:30 nothing about when it starts. In fact I have been served multiple times here between 9-10 in the past. I do not appreciate being lied to as a customer just because the staff member was unwilling to serve food. If they don't want to cook say so don't lie and claim the customer hasn't read non-existant rules. Won't ever be coming here again.

Avoid Fish and chips here like the plague. If you are at the seafront why do you use frozen fish? Tasteless at that.

Excellent coffee and tea.Lovely fish and chips.Melt in the mouth battered fresh cod and fluffy chips for a mere £6!Such nice staff at a busy time.My friend and I will be back!Highly recommended!

Food was good but a little overpriced. I asked for a baguette which is higher priced than a sandwich but got a sandwich. I requested a part refund due to it being the wrong requested item. They said that they needed to refund and re-do the whole order. So that was done. I had a small refund receipt but have now discarded of it. Didn’t realise I haven’t got refunded and was charged twice slightly different prices due to the baguette/sandwich. I have no way to contact them online or phone from what I can see. Would love my refund as I’ve basically paid over £30 for 2 sandwich meals :( hopefully this can be resolved if able to contact but I’m a little sceptical to eat there again due to this

Lovely ice creams. Fish n chips were served hot and fresh with variety of sauces n salt/vinegar. Other selections include burgers and chicken

The spinach and chick pea pies are homemade and very tasty, as is the homemade hometty pie. The coffee is mellow and very tasty. Prices are average for the Penarth area. Views from the Café are excellent.

I work for the national autistic society and have now used this cafe multiple times with different students, visited today with a gentleman who communicates vis pecs - picture exchange communication system. He selected his pecs and gave them to the lady behind the counter who took them and handed them back she then spoke solely to my service user asking him if he wanted a flake. I then asked him in sign language if he wanted one and she watched his response ( the smile on his face when I mentioned chocolate) and then proceeded to select the largest flake she could find for the ice cream. She was patient polite and happy to serve us.

Friendly staff, nice for coffee, ice cream, sweets etc but avoid for fish and chips. I paid £6 for (frozen NOT fresh fish) and (frozen NOT real chips). Being at the seafront, I expected fresh Fish and real chips.

Nice location, however, we ordered fish and chips and the chips were raw, couldn't eat them really. The sauces are also not the best.

Ordered fish and chips. Fish was good, but the Chips were not fully cooked. Mayonnaise looked and tasted like cream. Ketchup had a fruity flavour, definitely not like tomato. Not worth the price!

Great little cafe on the corner of the promenade and the pier. Always busy. Dog friendly. Serves cold and hot food and drinks and ice creams. I had a rum and raisin icecream.

Delicious food and very nice cashier. Fish n chips came with tartar sauce, plenty of salt, vinegar, and ketchup to add.

Nice and clean good range of teas and coffee, very popular

We organised to have chips for our wedding guests from here after getting married in the Pavilion and they were so friendly and helpful it was a great addition to our day!
