Authentic takeaway, good selection of foods, prompt service and friendly staff.

Friendly staff and reasonably quick service, bland and spiceless singapore chow mein, watery sauce and chewy "crispy" beef, excessive amount of onions in both dishes.

Food is always good - staff always happy and chatty - don’t take card payment only cash !( not an issue to me ) But can pre order by phone or online ! Sweet and sour Chicken balls are lush ! Thank you

Very poor experience. Very bad tang on chips, sweet and sour overpriced and both gave me a bad belly. Never again. Need to change fat more often and lower their prices. Rip off

My favourite Chinese food is Hong Kong sweet & sour chicken and egg rice, which I have had quite a few times from Rhoose and always good x Not expensive, and staff alway helpful & polite. Thank you

Not a great experience - chips were raw, barely cooked & the duck was pure fat.

First time here. Only hadfish , chips and gravy. All cooked fresh while I waited....in all fairness it was awesome. Will have a Chinese takeaway from there next.

It depends on the day of the week and who serves you with how your food come out it is still good food but the size and service changes per member of staff

Small portions salt and chilli chicken meat was tough and special fried rice meat was disguised with bland barbecue sauce overall disappointed wouldn't use again

Busy !! Generous portions of fish & chips, no wonder the queue went out the door.

Clean ,efficient with plastic guards between you and those serving. Cash only is accepted, no cards. I like the Singapore noodles- spicy

Ok food can be really good a bit hit and miss

Read some of these reviews and I’m scratching my head. I use this place at least once a month. Never had a bad meal. Always freshly cooked, always hot, always get the order right. Always tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

How can you mess up cooking chips??? Seriously like... Soggy, greasy undercooked chips... Over priced food generally and usually not cooked fully even the meats can be hit or miss. I would advise avoiding this place tbh. Its a shame, with its prime location and such, it could be amazing.

Decent enough Chinese takeaway. Food and prices are ok.

I asked for vegetables and chicken with no sauce as on keto...what they prepared for me was really good. The others in our group enjoyed their food too 😋

Nice people who ran the shop. We had great service everything was there that we wanted. The chips could of done with a bit more flavour I guess, I don't know some chips they're like mouth watering and some that are ok. I dont know how they do it but it does make a difference.

It's hit and miss depending on when you order or what you order, it is like any other takeaway in that regard. I like the tray meals personally. Support local and take a chance. Only take cash payment hence the 3 star review as would be easier if able to pay with card. 😊

Good food and not too expensive

Food normally very nice, chips good and Chinese food too. The downfall is the fact during lockdown the system is terrible and I feel very conscious about space, people and coronavirus. No system in place whatsoever. Handling money, food and bags and no changing of gloves/ hand washing etc. Hence why is a 3 star.

Great Chinese food and good prices. Very quick service, in and out in only a few minutes. Only take cash and don't deliver but not a big issue, worth the trip.

First time having food here, and literally cannot fault it. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Not good food at all food poisoning very serious for 3 days

The wait times at this take away are shocking. Half hour wait for chips and curry sauce tonight. The both young women who work there at separate times I’ve been there, are doing their job under a lot of pressure with no help from the other people there. Tonight, she was trying to serve the walk ins as well as trying to give out the telephone ordered food which was sitting waiting to be given out. She also was juggling taking payments for the orders with no help even when she asked the young bloke who was ‘busy’ stirring the chips. While you wait for your food, you also.run the risk of your chosen item being sold to someone else who comes in after you as well as your order being wrong when you get it home. This is not a criticism of the 2 ladies who work there. The chips are average and a little dry and curry sauce is essential to make them palatable. The sausage in batter are cooked sausages covered in batter. The saveloys are ‘warmed up’ in water in the top warmer which is not an effective or safe way to reheat cooked products. Mine was stone cold last week. I appreciate how busy it is but there’s no organisation and don’t be fooled into thinking if you just order a bag of chips and be gone-no, they take your money and sit you down to wait the same time as though you had ordered a full Chinese meal for 4! If they had more food ready to serve such as pies, pasties, sausages etc they could clear the walk ins as everyone understands they have to wait for Chinese food if it hasn’t been ordered prior to collection. And- when it’s busy, help the staff out! Shame Fontygary Chippy isn’t open more often.

Chips were reheated and not good. Imagine Chinese chips reheated. Curry sauce had a half inch of grease on the top. Savloy was good (hard to mess up a savloy). Overall not good.

Rubbish chinese, gave me the runs.

This chip shop has deteriorated and the taste of the chips made me physically sick. It tasted like stale old fat, has done for a few weeks, I will not be buying from there again.

Our order was mixed-up initially, however the restaurant was very sincere about it and apologised, and gave us some free food as compensation. Tasty food and good service overall.
