Been here quiet a few times for steak amazing taste better every time excellent service aswell coleslaw and peppercorn sauce 10/10

Thought the best fish an̈d chips but totally dissapointed! Charged me £15 for a large cod and chips that were from yesterday!!! So dry!!! And very small. Never again!!!!

Visited during coach trip for Sunday Lunch. Excellent Sunday Menu and opting for the fish and chips and the Sunday roast. Ordered at the bar and cooked food delivered to the table very quickly. Good quality, tasty and reasonable price for a 'seaside resort'. We later returned for drinks when the weather turned against us while waiting for the coach. Very busy by now but the staff handled the situation well and polite and welcoming.

Lovely food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere altogether. Definitely visit this place whenever you're in Barry Island!

Took my mum and her friend for fish and chips for lunch today. Our meal was amazing so fresh and tasty. Bat staff really friendly too and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome.

Always a great meal, whilst visiting the Island. A great spot for a few drinks and always a full plate of delicious food. Always busy as well.

Me and my family went to go eat fish and chips, But we were mistreated 3 people went ahead of us and the two female bartender, and one male bartender ignored us, they were racist because we didnt speak fluent english, and the smell was terrible, we ended up leaving the people there were also shouting and very drunk. TRASH of a restaurant. never going again dont recommend.

Great food, great drinks, great staff. Perfect for a day out down the Island. Will definitely be here again. Prices are quite good also.

I adore Finnegans Bar. I come here once or twice a week to enjoy their great meals and good music and I can work on my Art with a nice Beer. Their lunchtime meal deals are very affordable and the food is excellent. Above all else, the staff are brilliant too. I recommend this bar to anyone who is visiting Barry Island.

the food was surprisingly incredible. everything tasted great. i tried the fish and chips along with the sticky toffee pudding and i completely recommend it all. the staff was very friendly and the service was quick! a great food spot!

Was having a good time then I went to the bar made me wait while she served two regulars before me although I was at the bar first very clickey and was moaning about another bar very unprofessional made me feel uncomfortable we left and took our glasses to the bar the blonde lady didn't even say thanks just glared if your homophobic that's fine just keep it to yourself no need to treat us differently that's the regulars and Blonde Lady.

Such disappointing food tonight!!!! We’ve visited 3/4 times before and loved the food, service and vibe. Tonight we made a family visit at 5pm for early fish&chips supper with the children, following a visit to the fair. It was great to have the world rugby in the background but food-wise the fish was small with gloopy, oddly-seasoned batter and the chips were few and peppery with a tiny amount of mushy peas. I really hope it improves otherwise we won’t be returning.

My wife and visited on a weekday lunchtime. It wasn't very busy and we ordered fish and chips, a pint and a glass of wine. The chips were 'proper chips', the fish was crispy and tasty and the mushy peas were delicious. Great value and great service. So if you're ever on Barry island give this place a visit.

I asked to be served the member of staff said he will serve me when he is free with a rude attitude and tone of voice I walked out awful behaviour

Horrendous service where staff couldn’t care less - awful fish and chips we were given scraps of chips with gravy that tasted horrible. you’d be better off queueing at the front for some decent fish and chips. £37 wasted won’t ever return

Visited with my partner and 3 year old son, all three meals were served quickly and nice and hot, not a single complaint, it was all delicious. Staff were friendly and kind - really nice atmosphere in the pub overall. Second time eating in this setting and was equally happy the first occasion which I didn’t review.

It started of very well with the dark hair bar lady letting us go out courtyard with our dogs, on ordering our food we weren’t listened too and our order was wrong. Also, the waiter (Dylan) was quite rude and needs to work on his communication skills and as I’m writing this I’m still waiting for our peppercorn sauce and we have finished our food. And no explanation or apologised so disappointed this time don’t think I will be back. Cost a lot to as there was 7 of us 😡

Absolutely shocking customer service. When ordering food the barmaid missed off my 4yr olds meal, even though she read the order back to me and gave me then included drink. When the food arrived I asked where the missing meal was and was told that the order was incorrect. After having to go and pay for another meal the chef refused to cook it saying that saying that we’d already had everything. The barmaid pleaded with the chef to make the meal but the chef wouldn’t. My sons now crying his eyes out because he didn’t have anything to eat. We ended up having to go elsewhere to buy him some chips. This is the most unfriendly family restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m not even holding it against them that they couldn’t be bothered to kick out the guy shouting racial abuse and snorting coke in the toilets. All at 12:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon.

One of the best battered fish I have had in a long time, the chips were amazing as well. Comes with a fresh lemon. Staff are top level and show the fullest of service to us when we came in.
