The best restaurants in Bargate Southampton South East

We drove over 2hrs there but closed without notice. Have msg them but no feedback. Better check with them before going there

Went there for lunch. We were the only people there, but we still had to wait for 45 minutes to get our order, which was cold when it arrived. Staff were barely available and I had to go and find someone to complain about the food. Really disappointing.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and had beef brisket, Katsu Chicken, Gyoza and Sushi. All dishes were perfect, the prices were really good and the eatery is clean and well presented. Can’t fault the place at all and looking forward to coming back.

Never even bothered to give a proper review the required deposit put me off from even seeing if they’re worth the effort. I would have loved to try out this place. But I’m not paying a deposit just to book a seat.

Absolutely delightful. I took my daughter here as a treat for finishing her exams and this place is honestly one of the best afternoon teas I have ever had. It was super creative, full of surprises and plentiful, we had to take a goody box home. The staff were polite and attentive but gave you space to enjoy your time. The views are exceptional here too. I cannot wait to return, thank you so much for an incredibly beautiful day.

We went in got sat at a table then got moved as a bigger table came in. Then I got my drink and the glass had a lipstick stain on the side of it. When I asked the lady for a new glass she looked at me funny and inspected the glass. Our server was quite blunt and rude. With the food the pasta with the meatballs was very cold and rubbery, also the fudge cake was cold even though it’s meant to be a warm pudding.

Lovely food, came quickly and had very reasonable prices.

DO NOT COME HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I don’t ever give bad reviews but I came here with my mum and this was the worst food we’ve ever had. I had American style pancakes and what I got served was an absolute atrocity. I would be too ashamed and embarrassed if I had made that and wouldn’t dare serve it up to a customer let alone charge money for it! I just would not do it! The whole thing had evidently been microwaved which made the sauce taste disgusting, the pancakes looked store bought (looked nothing like the picture on the menu) and the cream tasted out of date!!! My mum didn’t like her baguette either and said she felt sick a couple hours later so clearly hygiene standards are not being met to say the least…. I could cook better than this, I don’t really ever give bad reviews but the food was embarrassingly disgusting and we will never come here again.

It was a Monday lunch so not busy anyway, big shout out to the lady who waited for us, really friendly and helpful thank you very much.

Food was indeed great, but they closed the kitchen at 9pm and had turned the coffee machine off, so we couldn't order desserts and coffees. Shame they didn't ask if we wanted anything before they did that. We had finished our mains in good time ... We were celebrating a birthday ... Bit of a down

We booked here to celebrate a family birthday. Staff seemed disorganised, Food was OK. The bill was presented to us after our mains, we hadn’t asked for it and no one asked if we wanted deserts. It was a Saturday night so very busy and noisy, with large parties. Seemed like they wanted us to leave as there were people waiting for tables

So, a friend of mine had been telling me of this place for ages. She spoke very highly of it, as a matter of fact. I’ve always wanted to go here, and very recently, I was able to do just that. I was able to try out these dishes, which I made a point to take photos of. For the price, I’d say this is more than worth it. They certainly didn’t disappoint. I will be making a point to come back.

Lovely atmosphere it seems never been there though, is grilled chicken all that good?
