We drove over 2hrs there but closed without notice. Have msg them but no feedback. Better check with them before going there

I really don’t know what kind of person comes here. The food at homeless at the door is better than the food here. The leaves are not washed and the meat is not cooked. Who are you fooling here?

I entered the restaurant around 3pm on a Saturday, hoping to savor some authentic Cantonese afternoon tea. We were aware that 3 pm might not be the ideal time, as some restaurants close after lunch and reopen for dinner. However, the female owner graciously welcomed us to the establishment. As I was enjoying my tea, a female waitress used the Cantonese idiom '阻人收工 猶如殺人父母,' which translates to 'Interfering with my end-of-shift routine is as grave as killing my parents.' This idiom underscores the importance of not hindering someone in their work or livelihood, and it added an extra layer of authenticity to the Cantonese-style experience. To avoid causing any inconvenience to the young lady, I decided to quickly finish my meal and pack anything that I could consume within approximately 5 minutes. Apart from the restaurant's political stance on Hong Kong politics, I struggled to find reasons to revisit this supposedly 'warm' and 'welcoming' place..

Authentic Hong Kong food with good portions and reasonable pricing. Lots of stickers left by customers supporting the democratic movement in Hong Kong. Anyone who shares their values should go there as a token of support.

Don't excel at anything at least not from the dishes I tried and saw others eat. The bite size French toast was popular. All mains include drinks so prices seem OK if you account for that. Not particularly cheap, tasty and portion size just average. I don't think theres better choice locally for same kind of food, worth a visit

We were a big table of 11 people but they kindly able to accommodate us for lunch :) So nice to see authentic Hong Kong style foods served here, we got the Stir fried beef For fun noodle (I think this was the best*), Stir fried instant noodle with pork chop (so nostalgic), Braised roasted pork with aubergine and rice (very good), Pork chop cutlet with rice (perfectly fried), Baked seafood rice in cream (with plenty of cheese hmm!), Stir fried vermicelli with duck meat... I forgot what else we got but all was good. Dim sum platter was a bit pre-made basic (but it's what you expect this isn't a dim sum place after all). ***MUST ORDER ICED HONG KONG STYLE MILK TEA*** You won't regret it. I'm not going to lie, the prices are a little steeper but the portions are massive!! And depending on the offers they have going on they may have little discounts here and there which is a nice surprise. And I'm probably biased but this is the one and only place I have seen in Southampton that dares to openly support Hong Kong - despite the possibility of pro-CCP students or people causing trouble. Ran by a boss who is from Hong Kong too - this is a place that needs our support.

There are many choices, including staple food and drinks, which is more affordable than other Hong Kong-style tea restaurants. The chicken pot, baked rice, fried river, satay beef rice, side dishes, and milk tea are all delicious and of a high standard.

Authentic Hong Kong restaurant which is a total surprise. The food and drink are real HK style and even better than those you may get back to HK. Highly recommended especially to HKers. The real Hong Kong tea restaurant taste is so authentic that it can be found on the Lennon Wall.

Best baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce I’ve ever had in UK! The Hong Kong style milk tea is very authentic which cannot be missed. Definitely recommend if you want to try delicious and real Hong Kong style / Cantonese food! The staff is friendly and super helpful as well.

Travel around the world. This Chinese restaurant is a surprise. Even better than most Chinese restaurants I tried in London. Simple menu, not many choices but good quality. Especially the Singapore noodles, not greasy and just enough favourite. The beef noodles still hot after sitting on the table a while. ❤️🩷

Also, it is deep-fried in nature and doesn't appear to be golden brown. (Suggestion: Add more vegetables to the dish) Taste 3/5 - Ordinary Curry sauce, nothing special. Texture 3/5 - The texture of the rice is lovely. However, the main part of the dish, i.e the chicken thigh, was too rough, which inevitably lowers the score. Size of the dish - Medium. Service 2.5/5 - Did not refill my water when it was empty. Other then that it's fair. Environment 3.5/5 - Clean, comfy music. Not a lot of designs, basic. Temperature - Warm, acceptable. Others - The dish is deep-fried which is not mentioned on the menu. Good size portion, had Singapore rice vermicelli. Good amount of prawns, pork and fried eggs. Taste 4.5 on the dish.

The portions are large and I'm transported back to Hong Kong with every month full. Staff remembered us from 5 mouths ago and so proud they are flying high the flag and speak out about Hong Kong's injustice, lost of of freedom and deliberate erosion of culture. "Add oil"

Authentic. It felt like I was back in Hong Kong - warts and all. And that's exactly why I chose this restaurant.

香港人加油 definitely 100% Hongkonger Restaurant (or called Cha chaan teng）except the fried rice / noodle or some main dishes. Hope you could try the satay beef noodle set which is Hongkongers' daily quick meal in Hong Kong. And recommend the french toast as well. With honey and butter also peanut butter on top, you can't resist it! Milktea is also the popular one I think you won't miss.

The food was delicious, the portions very big... as you can see in the photos. I might add that I didn't spend much. It was very cheap.

Good place to try really authentic Hong King’s style Cha Chaan Teng food. The Fried Pork Chop in Ginger and Spring Onion oil with Rice is exceptionally good, even better than many restaurant in Hong Kong.

The cafe serves authentic and classic Hong Kong style tea house (茶餐廳) food. I would highly recommend the HK tea, crispy pork chop bun, French toast, fried beef ho fun, baked pork chop rice and iced red bean coconut drink. Staff are very friendly and service is fast.

The food is very good but my wife prefers service and not self cook at the table. No heating.

HK Cafe provides Southampton with a refreshing Menu and a good choice of HK-Style comfort foods. The food is great, at however, a slightly raised price. The upside is that the milk tea is refillable, which you can’t get anywhere else in Southampton. I’d highly recommend getting the HK-Style french toast. Service is great and decorations are nice. Delivery options are also good.

Accidentally found this place during our trip to England. Very authentic Hongkongist type of everyday food. Consider the living standard I'm England, price is reasonable, very big portion of food. Owner and servers are nice. I will recommend this place for Hong Kong it's for sure.

The food was good. Prices a bit high but not exorbitant. We noticed that we were the only ones in the restaurant who seemed to be actual customers and not friends or relatives dining and keeping restaurant from being empty. We were told about a deal for free beverages with a dinner order. My son got a milk tea, I ordered coffee which was instant - obvious from the powdered coffee visible at the top of the cup. No napkins until I asked for them. When I asked for my bill, a waitress showed me a scrap of paper with the cost I owed written on it ( no itemized bill) and told me I would pay either with cash or "direct bank transfer of funds." I kid you not. I could hardly believe my ears. I am there in town 1 day before a cruise and I am not about to give her or anyone else running a questionable business my bank account numbers. I walked up the street and got cash from an ATM. Nothing wrong with asking for cash, but customers should be informed before they are seated. Not spring this when they ask for the check. As for wanting access into my financial account, this is sketchy beyond belief. The waitress who was charged with telling me this was very young, apologetic and clearly being made to do this by the owner or manager. Beware of this place.

返到英國總會掛住香港嘅味道💕 今次我同啲朋友咁岩嚟到修咸頓，識食一定係食九龍冰室。🫶🏻 佢哋個招牌雖然係蔥油雞扒飯，焗茄汁豬扒飯等等。 但係小編都係鍾意食西多士。😍佢哋嘅西多士真係外脆內軟，西多士表面俾人炸到金黃色，咬落去麵包嘅部份好軟熟，然後會食到大大啖嘅花生醬。呢個配搭加埋蜜糖，簡直係天衣無縫。佢仲一早將西多士切到細細舊，容易放入口，都真係幾細心。🌟 BTW,佢哋個西多士套餐仲送埋春卷，雖然係細細舊，其實味道都真係好唔錯。 同埋搶咗朋友嗰嚿蔥油雞嚟食，個雞真係做到多汁嫩滑🫶🏻有機會過嚟食嘅朋友都可以試吓 如果我下次再嚟，我一定會返嚟食佢哋嘅西多士。 呢個真係女人的浪漫🌹

I wouldn’t recommend people going to this overpriced place, £15 for 1 dish and £3 extra to get upgraded drinks. Any Chinese takeaway is better and you can get bubble tea from chatime next door for cheaper 😂

Cash only, bill £30 for 2 people, so far my favorite Chinese in Southampton. And I tried all of them. Good quality food, huge portions, all seem to be fresh. I enjoyed my food a lot and I could easily share my meal with another person, so watch out for the amount of food you order. I am not sure why such a low rating to be honest but I really enjoyed. My partner didn’t like much his dish because I believe he was just unlucky with his choice and didn’t understand the taste. I had sweet and sour pork and egg fried rice. Super tasty.

I have always loved this place when I was younger, coming back recently as an adult with my partner, it still feels the same as it did back then. I always ordee the sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, so that’s what I ordered, and it was amazing. Still taste the same, flavourful, sweet but not too sour, the chicken was tender and easy to chew, the rice was airy and fluffy. My partner had the stir fried noodles, which tasted okay, but nothing exciting or too extravagant about it. Overall, I love my dish. The service was fast, we were seated quickly, and staff were pleasant but can be more attentive and interactive.

A bit disappointed with the butter prawn. It was soggy and not flossy enough, it's half scrambled. The noodle was quite salty. The online order don't hv a full menu on it, missing chef recommendations on it.

Great! We were probably the only "westerner's" in there all night but the food is great if you don't mind leaving out the fancy restaurant experience. Compared to 1814 next door it's very cheap and generous portions. Would definitely eat here again

An absolutely fantastic restaurant serving a wide array of Asian foods ranging from Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai and Chinese cuisines. Food was top notch and reminicent of the meals I had during my travels in Asia. Truly well worth the price paid. Also, service was quick and efficient. However, I wish there was a mention of their cash only policy on their website or when my partner called for table reservation as that would've saved us from going back out to look for cash points.

It's actually more like a Hong Kong style tea restaurant. Welcoming environment with friendly staff. Only accepting cash if dine-in or carry-out, but you can also find them on Deliveroo. Visited once while biking in downtown, and ordered fried udon and Malay fried kuey teow, was a bit salty than expected, otherwise it's a nice place to try out.

Average restaurant with traditional Chinese and Malaysian dishes. Portion size was quite small compared to the prices charged but no doubt that the taste was good. So if you’re alright with chit-ching dishes with taste and a restaurant in the heart of the city then that’s your place.

The restaurant offers cuisines from Malaysia, Thailand and China. We ordered 2 Malaysian dishes and one Chinese dish. None tasted like what they should, partly because of wrong ingredients were used and partly because of the sauces. The restaurant does not accept credit cards, Cash Only.

4 stars comparing to the other restaurants selling Asian dishes. As an Asian, this is the closest I got to a more authentic Asian dish. I would totally come back when I get cravings. Its close as what you can get back home in Asia.
