Great place. It looks like a proper pub. Very clean. There is plenty of seating inside and outside at the front. Beer good, staff friendly, and pleasant

The rooms were spacious and clean, we didn't see anyone at checkout, we left the keys in a box so we couldn't communicate any small shortcomings, but we will do so by email.

A charming, quaint & historic pub with rooms above the inn will not disappoint! The pub is cozy & nostalgic with personable bartenders. We loved the vibe! No lift to the rooms but clean & lovely room with generous bath area & Paul the owner goes over & above with coffee, hair dryer & many other amenities in the room for a comfortable stay at an affordable cost. Many excellent restaurants along Oxford St for a quick bite or leisurely meal. A short 10 minute walk to the cruise terminal. We will definitely return!

Left out luggage about 11am and had a wander round Southampton. Went back about 3pm to check in the staff member has already taken one of our heavy bags up and proceeded to take the other heavy oner up. FIRST CLASS SERVICE. Room was great with tea and coffee with milk and oat milk. Bottles of water and biscoff. Loved the room. Will definitely stay here next time we're in Southampton.

Pub is absolutely not recommended. The “kids” behind the bar are screwing people over. Two Jamsons were ordered and one Jamson and one were delivered... “absolutely no idea”

As a serious Titanic researcher and collector, I am very sad to have to leave a 1 star review for this particular location,, but unfortunately I had a VERY bad experience here very recently. The doors were open and advertising signage on the street, so my wife and I innocently walked in to then experience the worst abuse in the hospitality sector in recent memory - being shouted at and thrown out the door in a most nasty fashion because apparently they were not open yet. There really is no excuse for treating anyone in this manner - no matter if they were the owner or cleaning staff. So I am afraid I seriously do NOT recommend visiting this place and giving it, in seafaring terms, the proverbial "wide berth." Update: Claims in response by the owner below that my above review is "exaggerated" are quite simply false. At NO time would my wife and I after being told to leave ever 'proceed to enter the premises when it was clearly unsafe to do so.' This is completely and utterly false and diametrically against our non confrontational and risk adverse nature. We were indeed shouted at and chased out of the building and were both quite shaken by the unnecessarily unpleasant response. Why would we ever force our way in when a woman is shouting at us to get out? The fact that the owner would claim we are inventing this makes no sense at all - unless they are referring to another incident, which is quite possible considering what happened to us; there is clearly a staff/hospitality issue. So be warned - not only unpleasant staff but also prone to flights of fancy! Or perhaps just sour 'grapes'? Advice: find a nice pub somewhere else which is deserving of support.

We popped in for a quick drink yesterday, while doing a walking tour of Southampton and it was a must see place given its association with the Titanic. Staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, it was a pleasure to chat to the barman as we chatted about the Euros final and travelling back to Birmingham after being in town for a gig the night before. The pub is small but full of personality, the walls are full of Titanic memorabilia and it was nice to be able to walk around and take it all in. Can't wait to visit again

We booked rooms at The Grapes to stay for one night after a mini-cruise. We arranged to leave our suitcases at The Grapes at about 9.30 a.m. as check-in wasn't until 2 p.m. We had to wait outside for a while as there was no-one awake in The Grapes. We had a coffee across the road in XOXO. The rooms were absolutely fine and we enjoyed our stay.

Small quaint pub with a couple of rooms. Located on the bustling Oxford Street. So if you are there Friday or Saturday nights it can be quite noisy from all the bars . Be prepared for climbing as there are 2 sets of stairs to get to the rooms , so definitely not mobility friendly. Rooms are simple , signs of wear but generally clean , I saw a heating unit but no Air conditioning. Easy check-in and checkout. Staff were lovely and you get a 10% off drinks card for your stay. No breakfast but there are plenty of places nearby about 25 min walk to the cruise terminal, bus station or train station

Slept here above the pub for one night. Getting out of the narrow stairs with your luggage is a challenge. The room was clean and had everything you needed for one night. It's loud but you know that beforehand. The service was short and sweet but totally ok.

Firstly in their defence it was a Saturday night and very busy, we had phoned a week earlier for a table for 4 but they had over booked and we were left standing at the entrance whilst they performed headless chickens. Eventually sat us at a table for 20 mins with no drinks or menus then tried to take our order lol. Some but not all the food had disappointing flavour and parts of the order were missing but we were not charged for the missing dishes 👍 Thats why 3 stars. Hope this helps 🤞

Small lebanese restaurant next to highfield. We tried the lentil soup which was ok. Underseasoned and watered down. Also had mutabbal and hummus which both tasted like they were bought from a nearby store and rather old. Hummus was missing tahina and was just mashed chickpeas with very low quality oil. Chicken was not consistently cooked some were over some were under and all very bland. Cost around 50 pounds to feed 4 people

Spent just under 30 pounds on a food place I use to love, this order was terrible and inedible, food was cold considering i live 8 minutes away aswell its a complete joke and definitely should not be this cold. (onion&mushroom bajjis, half tandoori chicken, naan, rice all cold. the lamb tikka was the worst I've ever had! Chips was like they was still frozen! The only thing a little warm was the chicken tikka massala. And to top it off it was the first time my partner trying his first Indian which was embarrassing safe to say he won't have one ever again. This place use to be great now it's disgusting

A little bit better than a premier inn, but, not much, however, the room cost less.
