Fleming Arms in Southampton

Visited for an 11 year olds birthday meal. Generally pleasant surroundings and a nice old building. Menu is extensive with choices Ordered the vegan “stack” and very disappointed with the food (see photo) for £11-12 and not much of a stack for a burger. Fries were also semi raw which I highlighted to the waiter who offered to make some fresh but I didn’t fancy a second load of raw fries 😞 The menu was fluffed up and descriptive about the bbq sauce but actually not much in the burger at all. Sadly won’t be returning Plenty of parking

Roast dinner was cold, no one checked on us or removed the dishes. Was not told fruit had changed in the pudding. 1 member of bar staff was very help at the end.

The barmaid Claire was very pleasant and helpful and sorted our issues out fairly quickly regarding the food as it was cold when served to us

We popped in for a bite to eat off the cuff. Great welcome from lovely friendly and relaxed staff. Food was reasonably priced, tasty and cooked well, we chose this place not knowing the area, you know that a Hungry Horse is usually pretty reliable, cheap and cheerful. It was quick service which was great for being on a time limit.

Dropped in on way to see our daughter and granddaughter for lunch and was not disappointed perfect fish crispy batter and dessert a little portion just right complements to the cook.

The pubs environment was amazing, I was met with great service and kind staff especially Adam and Kacey . Food was amazing and will definitely be back

Lovely music and food served hot and fast. Clair was particularly lovely and helpful, gave me directions to the local Cenotaph for remembrance Sunday :) Will come back again soon!

Ordered food on Halloween, food was good. However staff and customer service let it down, cutlery and sauces are on a separate station but when I asked for sauce (wasn't told where sauce/cutlery was when food was brought over) the older waitress was very rude and snappy its over there and just walked off, and wasn't happy that I had asked for basic items to accompany our meals. Restaurant wasnt overly full at this time and more assistance or politeness would have been a plus Update emailed as requested about this on November 1st and still haven't had any form of response

Love this boozer. If it wasn’t for Jamie at the bar and Liam in the kitchen I would’ve stopped drinking here ages ago like all the others but they make it worthwhile with good service and an even better attitude. This pub isn’t what it used to be but these two make it a class time.

The food was gross. It arrived less than 5 mins after we got from the bar to the table. And it was just about edible. We didn’t say anything as there was not much to change, it was just the quality of it and lukewarm. The staff were sooo lovely and the atmosphere was great 😊

Don't usually leave a review but this place was truly awful, the place needs a complete revamp, the chairs were worn and the decor looks tired and miserable much like the staff who when asked for sauce pointed to where it was rather than providing it for you. Food was bleak ordered a roast the meat was hard to eat with mash not even worthy of serving to people in prison. My son had a kids pasta bolognease which frankly I wouldn't feed to my dog , seems to be poorly run with no care of surroundings shame because in the right hands could have a lot of potential. Been to many hungry horses and don't expect too much for the price but this is way below the standard of others . Will not be returning would rather find a bin to eat out of , so do yourself a favour and drive right by as there looks like there is a lot of better places round the corner.

I normally like a hungry horse but this place is the worst I’ve ever been to!! Decor was awful chairs falling apart. Got a roast and took ages to come out and came out cold, meat was chewy and was served instant mash which was a cold blob. Asked for some horseradish sauce to go with the beef and was told I’d have to pay extra for a small blob. Staff service not the greatest. All look like they definitely don’t want to be here. Sad as not from this area definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Waste of money.

It's clean and nice, staff could be more friendly that's for sure esp behind the bar. Waitresses are helpful feel they are understaffed most of the time. Food is ok prices just risen again. And drink prices. But kids like it there and it has a good garden.

Visited on Sunday and ordered a roast and a mix it grill. After waiting for a while the food turned up but no drinks which I queried and the girl said she would look into. In the meantime I has to send my fries and onion rings back as they were cold. Eventually a lady turned up with the drinks but instead of the gin we had ordered it was rum! When my hot fries etc arrived I then pointed out to the guy that the onions and peppers on the hot plate were burnt yo be told " that's how they come"! When the manageress returned with the correct drinks I pointed out the burnt food and she was very apologetic and in fairness offered to refund the food. I was told to see her before we left. My wife's roast was also below standard, 1 slice of turkey was dried out and inedible and the stuffing basically shattered when she tried to cut it. When I went to see the manageress for the refund I was told that because I paid on the app they would have to credit the whole bill not just the food, which would take 5 days to process and then re charge me for the drinks that I had to pay for then. Needless to say 5 days later I am still waiting for my refund and as it stands I am nearly £20 out of pocket. By the way we have been here several times before and have given favorable reviews. But surprisingly, I don't think we will be going back. UPDATE, Emailed the pub as requested but have had no reply and still no refund, pissed off with the lack of customer care doesn't even cover it 🤬🤬🤬 Update, After several phone calls finally received my credit, thanks Jamie Lee for your help 😊

We come down from London to do my brother grave. This one was the nearest. We had to min mixed grill the chips were cold 🥶. The sausage we're not cook. My chicken had water in it not cook. So at 5 people that come with us 3 off. Them we ill my sister and myself and my son were very bad over the weekend. I went to the hospital because I couldn't hold any thing in the hospital appointment said we had food poisoning 🙃. Not very happy .that's why I am writing this time of day.off sick ??? Table 14

The pub is spacious and has plenty of seating if you want to meet up with friends. Also good if you fancy a game of pool. Jamie served us and was both polite and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely awful, waited an hour for my meal that never came. Upon asking the waitress where my food was I was told she would check with the kitchen. Never to return. Upon asking again we discovered another waitress hadn't even put the order through nearly 2 hours into the meal. The "chef" mad e the meal to go in an ice cream tub box. Un foiled with crap all inside it. Absolutely shocking

Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had going out for food the woman serving really rude when asking for cutlery was told and I quote it’s a go get it yourself pub main courses came out literally not even a minute after our starters had arrived to the table not a very welcoming and friendly experience what so ever will not be returning

Dark and dingey inside lighting that dim you struggle to read the menu Table was wobbly drinks kept spilling Ordered 2 mix grills and two burger meals Both mix grills was way over done the meats was like leather the chicken breast looked like it had been cooked on a sunbed for a week The burgers was raw and pink inside still waste of money Will not be returning Update E mailed beck back as was asked to in review tried 3 times but failed to respond on all 3 occasions

Popped in at opening time for some breakfast. Only one other customer in there so obviously no atmosphere. Nice staff member, good food, only problem was coffee machine was broken, my wife only drinks coffee. Apart from that, good pub to visit if your in the area.

Very disappointed with the hunters chicken I had. Only 2 onion rings. The chips were Luke warm. The chicken was over cooked and rubbery and very small. I didn’t want peas as don’t like them but it would have been nice to be given some salad instead. My daughter had a side of cheesey chips, which was a very small portion. I ordered 2 glasses of coke. That was given back as very watery. Given another 2 after coke was topped up but they still tasted odd. Took them back again and given another 2. Weren’t the best.

Very poor service waited over an hour for food and when it came food was cold this pub has very bad staffing issues and needs sorting plus the Toilets are in a very bad state and need a Re-Ferb…. Plus the garden…..
