Been here a few time now But was here Easter Monday for lunch.
We had the Scott Egg on the starter menu
And the pie for main can't find anything wrong with the food or drinks
At £10-99 for unlimited breakfast and coffee for one person, this is great value. But, when I bring my 6 foot tall grandson who eats free, it is unbelievable. A lovely laid back atmosphere. We were looked after by Lily, who was charming.
Never again!
Hotel close to the train station with a small pub underneath. With the English standards I have no problem with a somewhat “outdated” setup, BUT:
- the hallway was full of rubbish and junk that you could hardly take a step without stumbling
- the smell of the hotel was unpleasant
- the rooms were equipped with the bare necessities, but some of the lights didn't work. The door lock was also broken
- we received keys that didn't fit
But the worst thing was that the rooms and the hotel were just dirty and disgusting.
- Feces in the toilets
- (intimate) hair on the sanitary facilities,
- Hair and stains on the towels and in the bed
- the windows are extremely moldy
I am firmly convinced that this matter is not unknown to the employees. When we left the hotel prematurely (and, above all, hastily), we were laughed at and told that we should sort everything out with the booking platform and deal with them about the refund.
There was no apology or anything.
Kind advice for everyone who wants to fly home safely: it's best to look for other accommodation straight away ;-)
Absolutely disappointed as I looked on the website for disabled facilities, it states disabled accessibility in pub and disabled accessibility toilet. We got here and there was a step at the front door, making it impossible to get over the threshold, mu husband had to lift my chair in with me in it! The tables are not tall enough for me to sit under in the chair and the toilets were not big enough for a disabled person or a wheelchair , neither were the door ways wide enough. Making it dangerous for me to transfer from wheelchair to toilet. Totally unacceptable.
Loved the food and the bar maid but not fair about the rest. Please make some changes.
Went to this restaurant for a birthday with family. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Drinks came quickly and the food was good. We had a really enjoyable meal and time.
recommended by guest house we stayed at. great food. well priced. immaculate. clean (as were the toilets. great service. ignore the negative remarks. don't believe they are genuine
Ordered 2 milkshakes, one strawberry, one mini eggs. Very disappointed! Loads of ice and skimmed milk were used in it, making it taste weak and watery. The strawberry one was favoured with Crusha, and the mini egg one didn’t use Cadbury mini eggs, which is what I was expecting.
The owner demonstrates a highly unprofessional and disrespectful attitude. The food quality is exceptionally poor. It is imperative to initiate a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the substandard nature of this establishment. Additionally, plans are underway to pursue formal legal actions aimed at addressing these issues and potentially shutting down this establishment.
Sadly, like all of Jamie's restaurants I have been to and indeed his family's pub in Essex. - it is pile them on in and get in the numbers. I took my mum and dad to 15 for a treat before it closed. We were all cramped in. I could have taken them to other Italian restaurants in london with more room - less price - and more thoughtful meals. Sorry to to say this as have all your books. We then went to cricketers in Essex and were again cramped and disappointed. Sorry but that's how it was.
Ordered a simple breakfast dish with salmon and eggs. The toast was so hard I could not cut it with my knife. Coffee was watery. It felt quite expensive for what we got, probably one of the worst brunches we had in London in the last couple of years.
