Lovely Sunday lunch as always at Ye Olde Six Bells Horley. My wife had the roast beef & I had the lamb rump, both were excellent as were the accompaniments, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings & gravy which were all delicious. Gok look after us & really is an asset to the pub, a friendly, charming guy that we both look forward to seeing when we come to the pub. Thanks for a lovely afternoon

We were told about this pub/restaurant by a family member who had stayed previously at Gatwick Premier Inn but wanted somewhere more interesting to eat. The pub is very convenient if staying at the airport - bus from North Terminal bus station (we caught the 200) and almost the first stop is St Bartholomew’s Chuch. Alight there and take the path through the churchyard which comes out at the Six Bells. A lovely historic pub (9th century?) with a wide-ranging menu and good selection of ales. Our party of 4 all enjoyed their meals. As a vegetarian I went for a halloumi and peppers skewer with flatbread and hoummous, but the other 3 fully fledged carnivores tucked into pork belly and pie of the day. Can get quite busy and noisy so best to book in advance to secure a table.

We come to Ye Olde Six Bells a couple of times a year when going on holiday and it's a crime that this is my first time writing a review. Every single time we have visited we have a spectacular experience. Wayne and team run an exceptional operation, always a warm welcome, great food, super clean, attentive service. It is just perfect and we look forward to visiting every time, the team should be so proud of the experience they offer. We are booked again for lunch on Sunday!

Loved this place. Over the top with character, great food and service. I had the chicken curry and a side of the mac and cheese, and of course a good beer.. I loved everything. After dinner, I shared the toffee caramel dessert with my friend. OMG - fabulous. And then there was Lilly the JRT with her owner outdoors. It was so fun to interact with them. I would go out of my way to visit this lovely spot again.

A lovely English pub with super food. Excellent in every way. Super service from Gok and team. Really handy if staying close to Gatwick for flights.

Lovely food and a great atmosphere! There were lots of great gluten free options (including the fish and chips). Gok served us and was brilliant!

I met a friend for lunch here and we were so pleased with our choice. The pub has a lot of history and has been well decorated, giving it a lovely ambience. The food was great and good value too. We ended up having 3 courses as we were advised by our lovely server Gok that we had qualified for a mini dessert when we ordered our coffee - and it wasn’t that mini either! Dogs are made very welcome and there’s a great place to walk them - just pop along the public footpath that starts very near the entrance to the pub and you’ll find a huge field. We will definitely be back.

Our first visit to Ye old six bells and it was wonderful, it's a lovely place with low ceilings and also wooden beams. We were warmly greeted and looked after by CHETNA who is absolutely charming and made our visit well worth it, nothing was to much trouble for her. The beer was great, our food absolutely delicious, and all in all it was a great experience. May we pass our thanks on to you all, but I must say CHETNA deserves some special praise and we hope she receives it for looking after us so well. Excellent food, the chicken skewers were excellent, and they catered very well for my gluten free family. Much better than eating at the airport!

Lovely pub which we’ve used before and had great experiences. Unfortunately, the Manager (Simon) on duty for our latest visit was obnoxious, rude with no idea of communicating in a civil manner with his customers! However, the waiter looking after us (Gok) was exceptional and went out of his way to ensure we were looked after making our evening much more acceptable. We really enjoyed the food so will visit again and hopefully this review will result in a change of attitude of the manager!

Hadn't been here for a getting on a year. It was relatively quiet inside, but being a nice evening we sat outside with perhaps 3 other tables being occupied in the garden. Staff were friendly, I had a dirty plate noticed and replaced by a waitress. She brought the new plate out with another table's order, unfortunately she had gravy on her thumb which was then smeared across my new plate. I didn't say anything as I felt quiet embarrassed for her. As it happens I didn't need a plate for the starters - we shared a platter. Then we opted for a signature burger and buttermilk chicken burger. Food was ok. Not amazing, not terrible, it was ok. It did take quite some time to come out however. I will say the prices are a little steep for the meal we experienced: 4 ciders, 2 burgers and a sharing platter - £80.

Great food in a very comfortable, chilled setting. Staff are very nice, we were served by Gok who was friendly and smiley - much appreciated after the stress of a cancelled flight! 100% would recommend, especially the chocolate brownie which was delicious!

We were a party of 6 celebrating a friend’s birthday. We had a lovely circular table by the bay window. The menu had good choices for all palates. I had the skewers which were plentiful with yummy accompaniments! Though it was very busy at 6pm mid week our server Gok was excellent. He was so efficient and very attentive. He even sang Happy Birthday to my friend when dessert was served. We enjoyed it so much we are back again on 12th July!

We started with the sharing platter both chesse and hot platter very tasted and well worth it. For main chicken curry outstanding only real issue chicken cooked separately so a little dry for my taste. Fish and chips triple coke chips ok but not outstanding and mushy peas weird taste. Belly pork looked amazing and was a great plate of food. Staff warm and welcoming as always so well done to all please keep improving the menu

Made to feel very welcome on a very soggy bank holiday. Food was fantastic in a relaxed environment. Thank you Gok for looking after us with thoughtful attention to detail ( our dog loves your crispy bacon too). Look forward to seeing Wayne, Gok, Diogo and the lovely team again very soon 😊

Must have passed near this pub so many times and not known it was there .only around 10 mins walk from travalodge it was worth the visit .nice comfy place to eat wife had fish and chips and the chips weren’t frozen .i had the chicken skewer and hummus side the chicken was slightly dry but it was nice only real fault was the tortilla it was stale .other that it was a good effort .we will be making this our place to go on our next visit.

This pub is near Gatwick Airport but requires a little effort if you’re going to walk. Use the OS app if you have it to guide you there. Great food and drink, entertainingly waitered by Harrison.

Dreadful service, unfriendly bar staff, tiny overpriced steak that arrived 20 minutes later than the other meals. Salad had no dressing and was dry.

Great find, we stayed overnight at The Holiday Inn but didn't want to spend the evening in their bar so looked for a pub nearby, roughly about 5-10 walk though the churchyard. Staff very friendly, really nice atmosphere, food looked nice so we decided to eat and very glad we did as it was really nice. Have already recommended this place and will definitely go back

Just back from a lovely family meal at the Six Bells. We were so well looked after by our server Gok, who ensured that our visit went smoothly, paying particular attention to the dietary needs of one of our party. We were a party of eight, ordering eight different mains, including some generous Sunday roasts. The fruity slaw, served with the kebabs, was another highlight. Very happy with the quality of food throughout. Highly recommended.

Went to six bells for a midweek supper.Front of house staff excellent,polite I ordered £16.95 chicken, avocado ,bacon salad.Salad arrived,four tiny cubes of brown, very mushy avocado cut from a single avocado crescent,almost invisible,bacon again tiny squares languishing in the bottom of the bowl,salad leaves tired.Yuk,expensive and disgusting.Wifes meal was good chicken skewer with feta salad.Asked what I thought,so I advised,so waitress offered comp dessert,no thanks £10 off the bill given.

Lovely and friendly pub - though if you’re only having a drink, you can pretty much only stand at the bar as all tables seem to be for food. Good beer and a very good select wine list with lots available by the glass. I had sea bass with king prawns - ok but not that good - fish didn’t seem fresh (more frozen) and king prawns were not very king! Very attractive pub.

We were staying at holiday inn Gatwick and had heard of This pub… it was a 5 minute walk. It was very clean, nice atmosphere and the food and drink was lovely we were served by someone called gok, he was great, a lovely chap he works most days but will be missing out if you come on Friday and Saturday as that’s his days off!! Very attentive and friendly. Great pub for a meal and drinks.

Tasty food (calamari are AMAZING), nice place , friendly staff, and good place at all. We will come back here for sure! You do not feel pressured to leave the table at all.

Another fantastic meal here. Tonight we were served by Caitlin who was extremely attentive and helpful with menu choices. We live in Spain but always come back here for a great meal when over visiting relatives. Tonight we sampled the duo of lamb and the chicken curry both of which were delightful. Highly recommend the food and service here.

My family and I had a wonderful brunch here today - Mother’s Day. We received a warm welcome in this pub, which is the cosiest in Horley. And the brunch was probably the best that any of us can remember for a long time! We ordered three full breakfasts and one pulled beef hash (for me - coeliac - and I was very impressed at the level of care taken around my special dietary requirements). Gok looked after us and he was a brilliant waiter - friendly and professional. Everything we ate and drank was hot and delicious - I’d say the time taken was spot on for the kitchen to freshly prepare our food. The same for our coffees and juices - everything from the bar as well as the kitchen was served perfectly as ordered. The brunch plates were very generous and the portions filled up the three male adults and teenager in our family party. The food looked as good as it tasted and the bill proved this place offers really good value for money. Today was our first brunch at this pub and we’ll definitely be back. Really recommended.

Three for diner. One enjoyed …the Pork belly…but Apple Sorbet with the pork…weird. The others pizza , and also pulled beef sandwich with Hoisin sauce were frankly tasteless.. drinks order incorrect three times…..and repeatedly needed to ask for the bill…..and….no it wasn’t busy so no excuses. Used to Cabernet our go to place when in the area. Now perhaps needs a rethink

There were six of us in our group at 1.00 pm. on Fri. 1st Dec. 23. The restaurant was not at all crowded. The small back room we were shown into was cold so we kept our scarves on. We all ordered our food promptly but then waited waited 45 minutes for anything to arrive. The french fries ( with burger) on my plate were cold, though the burger was nice. The custard with my pudding was also cold. My wifes creme`brule`was freezing cold. We all had coffee which was also cold. Hot food should be an absolute priority in any restaurant. When I mentioned all the above to the barman when I paid the bill, he said absolutely nothing. Overall a rather disappointing meal. I shall not be going back.

The Australian girl who served us made our evening and I think she was quite new. This pub always has such nice staff and we have never been disappointed with our choices off the menu.

The service was not great,the food was just passable, waited at least 20 minutes to be served... considering the cost....of the 5 meals and wine...it was certainly not value for money......we will not be returning.

What an absolute cracker ! Service and food exceptional, it was a lovely busy Thursday night and we couldn't have been more delighted. House burger , lamb skewer , and fish and chips were all top notch with puddings that were also great. Had a bottle of Vigonier which came in an ice bucket which was a lovely touch . Such great value and would highly recommend.

Visited with cousins for lunch. Our waiter, Gok, was so attentive, especially for my wife who requires gluten free options. He took so much time in pointing out what items were gluten free and which items could be adapted, then informing the chef. The quality of the food and service was outstanding, thanks Gok! I have lived in the area for 40 years and it's great to know such a fantastic pub is here in Horley.

Just stopped in for evenings dinner with two work colleagues. Had first couple of drinks waiting on dinner and asked one of the young male waiters for another round of drinks, he turned round and said sarcastically ‘can’t see why not, i’m not waiting your table’ as he was waiting upstairs, he then proceeded to not order our table a round of drinks, other than that food was lovely and the rest of the staff were spot on.

Went for an evening Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. This was by far the best roast I’ve ever had at a pub. They don’t soak it in gravy, it comes in a lively little jug so you can put as much or as little on, potatoes were crispy, plenty of well cooked veg too. We were looked after by the wonderful Gok who even told us about the history of the pub. Will be back!!!

We go here regularly, it’s our favourite place for brunch. We feel so welcome every time, and so do our dogs (who we bring every time). This time we invited friends and everything was just set up so perfectly. The breakfast is amazing, and together with the setting and ambience, nothing could be better. We so look forward to visiting, and Wayne knows us so well. Bottom line- amazing!

Met a friend half way between our homes - he recommended the 6 bells in Horley. So pleased he did as it was lovely, great service, great food and good selection of wines by the glass ( as well as beer of course). I had the super green salad with roast salmon and it was delicious ( am on health kick so was v pleased to find such a lovely dish on the menu). The other meals I saw being served looked great.

We stayed nearby this pub before flying out from Gatwick Airport and we were so glad to find this little gem of a pub. We had dinner the evening before and also breakfast the following day. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I have several food allergies and the chef went out of his way to cater for me.

Menu has fantastic variety which was great, pub has great views and lovely cosy atmosphere and looks good. Pricing was about average, lightly higher than average possibly as the portion sizes are on the smaller side which was a shame - but food was very tasty. Biggest let down was customer service — after waiting half an hour we had to find & ask a server to take our order, and at the end of the meal we asked for the bill, but no one came back for payment so we gave up waiting and went to the bar to pay. Would’ve been a much better experience with better customer service - but based on Previous reviews maybe today was an off day/ short staffed?

We have eaten here many times over the years but we were particularly impressed on this occasion. A friend was treating us to lunch today and we received the best service. Gok was serving us and he was charming, attentive and went out of his way to be as helpful as possible. We liked the imaginative new menu and we were 'spoiled for choice'. We had a cosy table near the fire on a chilly day, the food was delicious and the ambience was great. We'll be back soon - in fact, our friend booked another date while we were there, to take another couple for lunch. Thank you Gok for looking after us so well!

Served by Gok, was very friendly and very professional, service was quick and food was lovely, would definitely come again and recommend for a nice lunch! One of us ate vegan and they were very accommodating to the diet!

Rather a long story so I’ll try to cut it short. I went with three friends, they each had chicken which should have come with spinach. I had a naked burger which should have had chips. When the spinach and chips didn’t arrive we queried it with the waitress, she went to the kitchen and returned saying there was no spinach and that my chips would be out shortly . I had nearly finished my meal when she came back to apologise again so I told her not to bother with the chips. My friends were offered a half price meal and a free dessert. We accepted the dessert and I assumed that as my meal only consisted of a burger (no bun) and a very small salad that I would be offered the same. To say I was furious when I was expected to pay full price is an understatement. I queried it with the Manager who was only prepared to knock a couple of pounds off. I was so disgusted I just paid the full price. I don’t understand why my friends were offered half price for some missing spinach but I was expected to pay full price as I cancelled the chips. Obviously I was expected to sit there eating them when I and my friends had finished our meal. I have been there many times over the years. But this is definitely my last visit. Appalling customer service.

We had the rib eye steak and it was tasty and very tender. The staff were very friendly, Jo was our main waitress. The Tiramisu was lovely afterwards. Fairly expensive for what it was but good for a special night out in beautiful surroundings.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. From out of the area and staying in a hotel close by we wanted a good Sunday lunch. Warm welcome to atmospheric pub. We had a lovely chilled glass of Chardonnay and then showed to our table. Vibrant atmosphere, lovely and warm, superb food and service. Highly recommend the roasts.

Lovely layout, not overcrowded warm friendly environment all staff extremely welcoming and accommodating. We were a table of 8 and we tried a variety of starters mains and deserts, and for the most part the food was nice a little on the cold side and although portions were a good side I feel the menu is a little on the pricey side for the quality of the foods. Over all we had a lovely evening.
