Don’t go here unless you want to be ill
Had takeaway week ago and felt sick next day. Just read this week that il Lee Garden has been closed down twice already by local authority and fined 20k this week for filthy hygiene standards. It’s in the paper.
Now I know why I was sick!!
AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH
This is a take away only ...they do not deliver so you have to drive n pick up
We ordered a meal which included sweet n sour King Prawn Balls ...when bag was opened was obvious they were VERY well cooked the batter was brittle and when cracked open the prawns were hard n dry , we phoned the restaurant to complain and after a few words were told if we drove back to the shop we could have more prawns ..my husband said two journeys was too much and we would prefer to call in next week and except a refund ....they offered no refund just said they were "very busy so hadn't noticed they were burnt "(and inedible ) and
repeated we should drive back and collect another portion of prawn balls if not satisfied ...which we were not going to do, would make a very mediocre meal very expensive .......customer service non existent ...so .not on our takeaway list any longer !
We have been going hear for several years for breakfast, but after today's grumpy service (not from the new lad who was working hard), we shall not be going back.
You are in the hospitality industry and a smiling face is all we expect.
I am a great fan of Cook BUT the Chicken Alexander was totally bland and tasteless. I like quite bland food BUT this was beyond bland....completely tasteless and a complete disappointment. Sorry Cook - I like many of your dishes BUT this was a complete disappointment and did not live up to expectations in any way - bland, nondescript and even a full bodied glass of red wine could not recoup the situation.
We visited for brunch. I was with an older lady that walks with two sticks. One of the staff saw us walking from the car park and held the door open for my friend. The service was warm and friendly. The coffee was delicious. The brunch was excellent, especially the sausages. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again.
I always go in really late after a shift at the pub up the road so always feel super guilty but the guys in there are so nice, normally the same two guys that are very accommodating not sure what their names are but the name Jay was in my ticket, and there is another man that’s very lovely and always says hello to me :)
Having travelled near and far mc Donald’s is a safe bet However Croydon must go down as the slowest service in the world , no matter what time of day it’s slow and the food is often cold and the little manager guy can be very rude ,back to the wait times my record is now 23 mins even when I did get served I had to wait another few mins for fries !! Maybe they forgot that most meals come with fries
What a shame. A better previous visit. This lovely atmospheric pub is our go to when flying from Gatwick and staying at Holiday Inn which is a pleasant 10 minute stroll. Greetings were good. We ordered pub standards and were told there would be a delay due to an unexpected large party. All well and good. Another round then! The food then arrived. What a disappointment. Chips were cold and sent back. Chicken was dry and overcooked but there was a heap of fresh undressed rocket salad which was lovely. Burger average. Hopefully next time we fly from Gatwick we will try again and have a better experience. Fingers crossed.
