KOKORO Redhill in Reigate and Banstead

Always gets takeaway from here, sweet chilly chicken with noodles is my favourite… need to mention Mimi who serves there was really helpful in sorting few things

Extremely poor customer service from a lady named Nikitu, she used no eye contact, seemed very moody and didn’t smile once while serving me. She was also using no gloves while doing my food which I found a little of putting. I also saw her being rude to some of the delivery drivers that were coming in. The food was really good but the customer service needs a massive improvement unfortunately especially from Nikitu

The chicken katsu curry was served by probably one of their new staff members. I ordered one large and one medium and the serving size was almost the same. The chicken serving itself wasn't "overflowing" as the amount wasn't as expected. There's another kokoro in Reigate, I probably should've just eaten there instead. Edit: I added stars to adjust my review because I came back to eat there again. But I'll leave my earlier comment for reference.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was amazing,the Customer Service was great. For every time I visit,she is usually amazing,always full of smiles

I would NEVER EVER come back to this particular place again, the service is appalling, the lady in charge is rude, no manners whatsoever, having visited yesterday with my boy (his choice, he loves Kokoro) the lady was rude, she was short with him when he made his order and asked for extra sauce, disgusting attitude, he’s 9 years of age! I told him that we will never come back to this place. This place used to be great when it opened. Horrible woman. Avoid. The branch in Crawley is great.

The service totally terrible,I was order the spicy chili chicken but she give me is a curry chicken and I told her and she still feels I order the wrong one ,the chicken is totally cant chew and is overcook like a dry cardboard.and the food I can feel they left in the hot cupboard it is quiet long time already.make bad of other reputation of the of the kokoro.

Got sweet and sour chicken from here for lunch yesterday and the food was disappointing but I then couldn’t stop being sick a few hours later having had nothing else in the day and this has continued into today. Unless you are looking for a tasty serving of food poisoning I would avoid at all costs.

Update: another terrible portion given by the older Japanese lady. You’d think the sauce comes out of her monthly pay the way she gives you one/two tiny scoops. Food drier than the service. (FYI this is meant to be a curry in photo) Place just keeps getting worse, they hate to give you sauce. Edit: price has gone up but size and quality has gone down. It’s as if they don’t want to give you a full portion. The sauce portions don’t come close to covering the rice.

I ordered and paid for avocado shushi and they make it with cucumber , wasn't any avocado inside . I asked why , they said avocado is very expensive. I can't believe.

Love KOKORO but the service in Redhill branch isn’t the best

The food turned up cold and the sweet chilli chicken I ordered tasted like fish. I can only assume it has been cross contaminated with the salmon they use somewhere along the line.

Staff were ALL on their phones when i got in there. Food was fine, nothing to run back for.

I had spicy chicken with rice. It was very oily. Literally rice soaked in the rice.

Had the Korean beef stew, frankly it was terrible. Way too watery and was essentially 90% soggy rice and small bits of beef soaking in oilly water with little flavour.

No cutlery or tissues. Going to eat this with my hands

13/10/2023 - the spice level on the chicken curry today is beyond just hot and I've grown up with spicy food. Someone needs to try the food before it gets dished out.

The saviour of Redhill. We love a good Kokoro! Recommend the salmon lovers platter, and the pumpkin croquettes.

Ordered a home delivery we was really looking forward to this but unfortunately most of our food was missing ordered 3 meals and one was delivered extremely dissapointing then the restaurant blamed the driver but the bag was sealed so clearly the restaurants fault and the restaurant refused to do any thing about it

Spicy chicken curry was amazing. The spice level and flavour was spot on! Sushi was made fresh, and you could really taste it. There aren’t many places in Redhill or Reigate for fresh sushi, I’m sooooo happy I have this near by.

My food was over cooked and burnt. What a shame!!

We often come here not only because of the food but also because of the Korean lady who is soooo nice especially to my son,William. She even acknowledge William as soon as we arrive to order. She always makes us welcome and her customer service is super. It makes me happy to see her all the time we dine in.

Not sure if there has been a staff change recently, but the service is night and day to how it used to be. Really pleasant people, generous portions, fresh food & well prepared. Shout out to the people working there for doing a great job.

i ordered chicken katsu and it gave me this other thing im really upset about it i paid £13, £15 including delivery on deliveroo and i got something i didnt like, i tried phoning them and never answered for some reason im going to cry

Had the sushi and hot food and have to say it has excellent food, they recently began making the sushi rolls fresh on ordering and it really makes a difference! Under new management so big change in quality is noticeable. Would easily say this is better than other places which make it in large batches and leave on shelf. Has become my regular place now

This lady at Redhill took up 2 strands of noodle for my £7.25 meal. I ask her why it was so little, she proceed to add the stale chicken on the small amount of noodle. I’m so upset. The audacity of this lady. I’m going back to show her one day the little bit of noodle she serve. And speak to the manager or supervisor.

This is a great place locally if you want to treat yourself sushi or a hot Japanese Katsu curry. My twin girls always ask for this as their takeaway treat. The service is always courteous and swift and the food is top notch. Highly recommend 😊

Generally the food is pretty good here, with lots of options and good flavours. However, I’ve found the service to be very hit or miss and that the quality of food changes depending on the day.

This place gave me food poisoning that am still recovering from, it’s been 8days now. Just be careful

Spot on! Best takeaway for a long time. We all have different preferences so my tastes will be different to others, try it and discover for yourself. Huge portion of chicken tyriaki! Arrived in 18 mins on a sat eve. Hot, fresh, delicious for £10. Very full!

Home made feel from the food, yet there are customers entering the place expecting Michelin star food and service from a eatery with a simple concept.

Went there today during Lunch time. .Though it was crowded the staffs were friendly and quick to provide the food. Had ordered Chicken katsu and mix match sweet chili. Both the items were delicious. Nikita and Heena both of them were nice. Will definitely visit again for the food.

Went to kokoro yesterday was served by Ankita and Safia. They were both very helpful and kind and listen to my request. I will definitely go back again.

Tried sweet chilli chicken, Tofu and prawns was fresh and good quantity. The staff members were polite and well trained staff specially Heena and Nikita.

Really bad. Got salmon teriyaki and it was way too sweet. Salmon over cooked and chewy. Would not recommend

SO NOT "freshly hand-made" as it is obviously Old recooked recycled chicken you cannot even bite and swallow in teriyaki that is so sweet and salty to be eaten. No wonder my daughter didn't bother eating! Had to throw away. This is the worst Kokoro I have ever visited. Poor food quality! No wonder no one eats here! Staff just chats the day away! Do not even attempt to step in!

Friendly staff and generous portions

I love buying Kokoro food however the servings in Redhill seems to be less than how much they serve in Crawley.

Sushi was expired and had a date from yesterday on it and told the staff and the Indian staff woman with the glasses aid ‘ well what do you want me to do you’ve had one piece so I can’t sell it and I don’t want it’ ?? Don’t sell expired sushi to me ? All I wanted was a replacement and she refused to offer any of that No sense 😭

Decent range of sushi and a few hot dishes ( sweet chilli chicken & rice/noodles etc) Tofu too. A couple of tables to sit at. Not cheap though.Staff polite.

I had to throw it out. I ordered Teriyaki chicken with noodles. Sauce was so much of sweet to cover the stale chicken, it was not good at all. Wasted my money, had to make lunch at home.

The best place to get Sushi for a decent price in Redhill. Staff could be friendlier but they do a good job, and make everything fresh in store.

The food is good but the staff and the service is absolutely appalling. They sent the wrong side order and when I called they claimed they had spoken to a man and the order was changed. Funny enough I live alone! They had the audacity to tell me to do whatever I like when I nicely asked for a refund! Will never order from here again

i love kokoro but the service at this branch is really slow. (maybe it was the particular day i went) i wanted to buy boxed sushi and ended up waiting 15 minutes with not even many people in the queue.

The food was fantastic, most delicious place in town! The staff were also very kind and despite the queue, the service was incredibly fast. I will definitely be going again!!!

Great food but really let down by the poor and slow service. Out of a team of at least 3 only one person was serving during lunchtime. When someone queried why only one person was serving they said the other till isn't working. Which is fair enough but someone can still help serve food until it calmed down. Instead you had one poor person serving, taking payment and even replacing the rice/noodles when it ran out. It was so slow multiple people left. I would like to say it was a one off but it's been consistently slow to serve several times I've been there now. Which is a real shame.

Great if you love standing around for ages, the staff couldn't be slower if they tried. 3 staff working and only 1 on the tills with a que out the door, got half way and gave up.

Great food as always. Good addition to option in Redhill..good portion of meats for rice/ noodles provided. Just make sure you ask for the takeaway pot to be wrapped to avoid any leakages

The way this place is managed is outright bizarre. Tonight I received a tub of oil with a few pieces of chicken floating atop the surface, awful. But I can forgive things like this, so I phoned up the branch and explained my issue. The young polite lady told me that she has tried to give the chef feedback because "everyone" is calling in saying the same thing. I asked to speak to the manager, she said that the manager isn't in right now, and she does not know when he is going to be in - it will be at some point during the week. The store regularly opens up to an hour late, and provides no explanation or forewarning. And I have witnessed the manager shouting at employees through the glass whilst they are closed. This is the first time I have felt the need to review something, and I don't do it lightly. Manager, what is going on in your head - are you leaving these new staff to figure things out themselves?

It’s a welcome addition to Redhill, but the standard really is sub par. The chilli chicken I had was chewy, way too much sauce, and the rice dry. The only good thing is the portion size for the money, but given the quality of the food most of it ended up in the bin. Very disappointing.

Tasty Sushi at a reasonable price. Cheaper than Sainsbury's around the corner. The shop is clean and staff are effecient. Good experience.

Incredibly expensive for what we got. Delivered one main instead of two and it was not what we ordered. Quality of the food wasn't good either. Very disappointed.
