Ordered take away for collection for Friday evening dinner, every thing in order, no missing meals and very tasty, recommend.

We ordered takeaway here for the first time, having had all sorts of problems with other Chinese restaurants in Horley. I must say everyone in our family, even 3 young children, loved the food. The most impressive thing is you immediately notice the food is not greasy, not heavy…. We ate loads and didn’t feel we’d overdone it at the end of the meal. Was great to see a 5 food hygiene rating also. We wish we had tried the New Emperor sooner and hope we experience the same the next time and this becomes our new go to place in Horley for Chinese.

Cannot fault this Chinese Takeaway. Always great food and great service. Love the Salt and Pepper Squid and the Kung Po Prawn. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Four visits and four missing dishes each time. They do it on purpose. Happens too often to be coincidence. I am around £38 down from all the dishes they have kept but charged me for. Definately a strategy they have, maybe some will complain and they put it right but at the end of the month they must be getting away with hundreds of pounds of STOLEN food.

The last three visits to my last one there was always one dish missing from my order.. on my fourth visit it happens again. This is not coincidence, this is theft. do this enough times through the month and you have increased your income. some may challenge it and all you get is an apology but the truth is they have a system in place to make more money by doing this. They probably get away with 50% of short orders and at the end of the month that's a few pounds profit. It happens to often to be chance, this is done on purpose and that make them thieves and conmen. Im a man of God, lets see how your business prospers now.

Delicious food and extreamly friendly staff. I haven't had such a nice a chineese takeaway in a long time. Friendly prompt delivered hot and on time.

1st time here,30minutes wait for chicken chow mien and a pancake roll. Awful in every way and dripping in oil. These guys really don’t know what there doing !

Friday night dinner here with my brother who is a regular. Great friendly service, good beer and the food is not shabby either. The banana rice dish is amazing. Must try it

Arrived hungry to Best Western Hotel at 9:30pm on a Thursday. We ordered on the phone to beat a 10:30 close. Walked 15 minutes on A23 (sidewalks on both sides) to pick up our order. Gluten free options. Everything was delicious. Beef and mushroom, Singapore noodles, chicken with veg, veg medley, egg rice. Be sure to ask for forks and napkins.

Best Chinese takeaway in the area plenty of parking outside pity they don’t do a delivery service but well worth a visit- open kitchen so you can see them preparing your meal tasty food

My the Chinese I usually go to wasn't open on Monday so I thought I'd try another one. We chose The New Emperor Chinese Takeaway. We had great food and was delivered within the timescale given. I'll be using them again!

this is the worst chinese i have ever had , i'm local and all the local people know to avoid this awful place , they keep the lights low so you cant see what the decor is like or the slop your supposed to eat this place hasn't changed in the 25 years iv'e lived in horley, ps even my noodles were crispy (not cooked) i tried this place after living in horley only a few months after talking to locals about my terrible experience they informed me that none of the locals use this place,BEWARE

Open plan kitchen. Laminate menus. Able to do a vege spring roll from scratch. Tasty sauces in the chicken and noodle dishes. Quick preparation and service.

Disappointed by the beef curry which as too tough to eat. Salt and pepper squid for rubbery and lacked salt and fresh chillies, spring onions etc.

Always have a really enjoyable meal from them, shame they do not do home delivery but never mind. Still the best in Horley

Have not been for awhile but the food is still excellent by far the best Chinese takeaway in Horley very clean kitchen pity they don’t do a delivery service try their Chicken and Sweetcorn soup

Visited New Emperor as we were flying from Gatwick. Convenient location and price reasonable. Food was ok in flavour but my lower rating comes due to level of MSG. Couldn’t sleep after eating their food which, unfortunately, means I won’t be back.

Thought we'd have a change and try somewhere new, wasn't disappointed at all and recommend has something for everyone

Not too bad here if your just plain hungry. There is a lack of good chinese around this area and The New Emperor just fills a gap.

Excellent takeaway watched the staff cooking our meal very tasty and reasonably priced plenty of parking right outside but they don't deliver worth a visit

Acabamos de comprar comida para llevar de nuevo Emporer y normalmente es bastante sabrosa. Todo esta noche no tenía sabor. Teníamos alas de pollo que estaban secas y cocidas. Chow mein con gambas que no tenía sabor. Dulce y amarga de pollo que fueron bolas cocidas, duras y sin sabor y salsa de curry que era extremadamente salado. No vamos allí con prisa.

Always good service. Friendly. Good choice on menu. Food cooked consistently well. Never received wrong order / item yet. Clean and open style kitchen

Not been for awhile but we were not disappointed-the chicken and sweetcorn soup is the best in town easy parking on the Brighton Road -- they don't deliver

This must be one of the worst meals on the Planet . Kept it very simple . We ordered two chicken dishes . Luke warm and swimming in what look liked ( and tasted like ) dish water . Please avoid. Really not good .

Crispy duck was lovely - very little fat and well cooked. Rest was also delicious too as always. Would recommend.

We had a takeaway from the New Emperor last weekend and it was pretty good. I'm not a massive fan of Chinese food, but the duck was crispy and there was plenty of hoisin sauce but the pancakes were a bit 'dusty' tasting.We had noodles, which were quite nice but I found there was too much garlic in one of our other dishes and not enough satay in another.Filled a hole but wasn't a special treat.

I have purchased food from here for many years as it is near where I live. New owners have taken over in the last few years but the food has remained very good, however my husband who has had high blood pressure feels that the food has become more salty. I wouldn't fault this takeaway, there is a good menu for all tastes, good sized portions, friendly staff and I have rarely had to wait more than 15 minutes for the food.

We thought we would try this one for a change never again, no taste to anything, will never use again there are far better Take away places in Horley

Have not visited the New Emperor for a few years since we moved away. Decided to try it on a visit back to Horley. Friendly, helpful and prompt service and tasty food. We would definitely recommend them.

Unfortunately this takeaway has gone down hill this year food is now average compared to other Chinese takeaways in the Horley area & is also the most expensive

Its fast, Its local, Its edible. Awww come on! they deserve a little more than that. Ok then. Its quick service, Its just around the corner and I didn't have to spit any of it out when eating...... Its not the best Chinese I have had by a long shot but as takeaways go it certainly is the best takeaway I have had. To be honest it is probably good enough for them to consider opening a sit down restaurant but the surroundings and service would have to be on point to make it a good place to eat. You wont be disappointed with this takeaway, they know their trade and the busyness of the place will ensure there is always a good turnaround of fresh food. You can see it being cooked and the place is very clean. Enjoy.

My friends and I ordered takeaway last night, we ordered two fried rice, three chicken dishes and one ribs, all came to around £23. We went for collection, we live only 5 minutes away and by the time we got there, the food was all ready to collect! Food was ok, fairly average. If you're hungry and want instant hot meal, this is the place. They don't do deliveries though.

I love China town so will always compare the choice, quality and experiences of eating there with Chinese food in Horley.Unfortunately have found no eat in restaurants to match this here.By accident found this takeaway and can breathe a sigh of relief that I can get very similar food.The crispy duck and pancakes, my beloved tofu with chilli pepper salt, king prawn noodles etc etc are great.A family run takeaway who take pride in trying to match the best of their London cousins cuisine.There us a very warm welcome here which is far better than China town's brusque style . Wish it was big enough to have eat in facilities. Maybe one day!!!Highly recommend .

If you phone your order through, it will always be ready when you get there no matter what! Food is of good quality and very tasty. Menu is quite varied and reasonably priced. Nothing to really dislike so give it a go!

Regulars at The New Emperor for a few years now. Food always excellent, crispy beef is always crispy, duck is without equal, free crackers a bonus and service always friendly. Pick up a chilled wine from the neighbouring off-licence and the evening is complete!Love the calendars for Chinese New Year too!

Always enjoy the food from The New Emperor as they do not use excessive amounts of MSG. Extensive menu and good value. Appreciate the little extras like the bag of prawn crackers with each order

This Chinese takeaway produces the most tasty food. Service is usually very quick and if you order one of the large pancake rolls you will not be disappointed.
