Great chips with large portions. Great Chinese too another excellent takeaway... consistently good

Just ordered a King Prawn Chow Mein, it was burnt and un edible, prawns were over cooked and dry. Dreadful.

This is just a take away no restaurant. So I like to order from here twice a month. A group of my friends get together and have it my house. The individual dishes are cooked fresh to order are extremely delicious. You can actually taste the flavour of each dish. The staff are very friendly even the staff who actually deliver are very nice too. No one stands expecting a tip so are shocked when given one.

Absolutely amazing food and service ! The best Chinese EVER and would always recommend. Cannot wait to return. Fresh, hot food

I have been using for many years. But lately gone down hill. The duck was definitely reheated from yesterday. Hard and burnt so unable to eat. They must have a new chef as many dishes are totally different from what they used to be. I spent £90 tonight and through over half away

Easily the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in Surrey, and I’ve tried a lot! I had this for the first time earlier this evening and I can’t fathom how delicious and fresh the food was. The Salt and Chilli king prawns were especially nice, the best I've ever had. This is my go to from now on!

Average - food was ok but nothing to shout about.

I have had 100 chinese in this area and others and this is hands down the best. Freshest and less salty than others! I love it, new favourite.

My wife and I used to order from here a lot when we first moved to Banstead a few years ago. However, we stopped using when their Food Hygiene Rating dropped to a 1. Recently it went back up to a 4. Therefore, we tried it again for the first time in a while, and I have to say how disappointed we both were. The sweet & sour chicken balls were really stodgy, and the chicken was tough and chewy. The chicken Chinese style was better, as the chicken was tender. However, the sauce was too thick and very rich. In addition, the prawn crackers were off and soft. Therefore, unfortunately my wife and I will not order from here again.

Went here as reviews were good BUT I only ordered 3 things curry sauce, chips + a curried pancake roll... after 7 customers had been served infront of me + 25 mins had passed I wasn't happy to be told this was due to the time it took to deep fry my frozen pancake roll. I wouldn't have minded but when I went to eat the pancake roll was oily and overcooked inedible the chips tasted like they were cooked lunchtime + reheated alot! I only treat myself to take away 4 times a year..so only having curry sauce that's edible is disgusting as was the food..foxes refused it too

Went here tonight as reviews said it was good I ordered 1 large chips 1 curry sauce and I curry pancake roll £2.90 Then waited 35 mins !! 7 customers got served before me. When i asked why it took so long... the frozen curry pancake roll (frozen!!) took 20 min to deep fry... it was solid and very unedible.. the chips tasted like they'd been reheated 4 times tastless .. the curry sauce was OK apart from the layer of oil on top... £6.40 wasted... even the foxes wouldn't eat it I know cos I just have them it they smelt it + ran off!

I've been coming to these guys for a number of years and will still travel to collect from them; definitely the best Chinese food I've ever had from a takeaway service. They're always super busy so I ring ahead of time and my order is always there waiting for me when I collect. Never had any issues. Very tastey food and great value for money.

I had Fish & Chips from here today and it was great.

First time ordering, will be the last. Noodles were burnt, chicken balls were all dough no chicken and the chicken breadcrumb tasted like fish, must not be a weekly change of the oil. Ate half rest when in the bin. Absolutely horrific Chinese.

Always hot, tasty, and ready on time. Recommend the baked chilli squid, satay chicken, beef in blackbean sauce and lemon chicken.

Ordered a delivery, told it would be 40mins, after 1hr I rang the find out when we could expect it, I was told it had not yet been cooked & that she had told me delivery was 1hr 40mins & that "They were busy & do I want it or not" Not only was she lying to me, she as extremely rude. I will go in & tell them & never order from them again. Obviously lockdown has made takeaways arrogant with no regard for their customers.

Use this takeaway all the time now as food is so good and such good prices. Delivery drivers friendly and covid safe. Wouldn't go anywhere else now!

I had sweet&sour chicken hong kong style and beef with black bean sauce with rice on side yesterday, both tasted amazing and the portions are so big. Service was also very friendly and quick. I definitely recommended this place!

We get a take away from here a lot - more than we probably should and every time we do and have, the service has been friendly, efficient and tastes excellent. We would definitely recommend.

Normally decent, but today wasn't good at all, curry sauce come out the pot in a lump , chow mein tasted of sweet and sour for some reason, even though it was supposed to be Singapore style, generally disappointed, threw most in the bin, spare ribs were all I enjoyed, won't be returning, such a shame as used to be good, and I've been a customer quite a few times.

I ordered a fish and chip takeaway in Monday, waited half an hour for it to be cooked, when eating found it very very greasy like it had been cooked in old oil that needed replacing, wasn’t nice at all. The following day I had an upset tummy all day. Stay away - would not recommend this takeaway

Average food. Got order wrong on 3 seporate occasion. However they did rectify each time. Cash only. it's okay, not my first choice but had worse. Still looking for my favourite Chinese takeaway round here.

Have order many times. This was a bigger order than normal. Some of the dishes were only half full. Very disappointed

Fish & chips cooked in old oil taste was horrible, chips were hard & the fish wasn't anywhere near fresh I even go so far as to say the fish had it's 21st birthday yesterday. Won't rush back, I should have known when the guy who served me looked like he'd been sucking lemons all day!

Usual Chinesetake away has been increasing prices...was recommended Gold Medal. So tried it. Food was hit freshly cooked and tasted lovely. Only downside crispy beef wasn't. But maybe i should've removed lid quicker. Seaweed and prawn crackers tasted quite fishy so I am guessing maybe shares the fryer for the F&C...but I don t know. Will defo be using again. Great service..

First time using the Gold Medal and will definitely go back. We had the set Meal D Peking Style for 3 people (nice size option) and some spare ribs on top. No complaints from anyone. If smoked chicken is good on next order, will review again.

Good vegetarian options. Lovely staff and fairly priced. I had mini spring rolls, mixed veggies in black bean sauce, and Singapore veggie noodles. Really tasty, nice amount of spice. And inside the shop are 2 massive plants, which are huge and beautiful!

We’ve been struggling to find a good Chinese takeaway for some time, everything we have tried locally has been a let down. After seeing someone else’s review online we tried this tonight and it was brilliant, everything was fresh, fragrant and lovely flavours. The delivery was bang on the 45mins quoted, very reasonably priced, we will be using again. Well done.

Lovely lady delivered our F&C for three of us. Sadly it was probably the worst F&C we have ever eaten ( or not in this case!).

Going a little bit downhill lately crispy lamb looked like something sweeped out of a parrot cage, such a shame and portions getting smaller

Love the food and delivery, but the chicken balls really taste like old boots, you need to be fresher with those and you would get five star, also the crispy duck isn’t that crispy... the cucumber is very slimy and inedible. Shame really as the rest is amazing x

Been getting fish and chips from here regularly for the last couple of years and now don't bother with anywhere else local. It has really improved since the change in ownership.

Sadly since the opening of Med Plaice the fish and chips at Gold Medal House are largely of poor quality. Should you be fortunate to arrive when they're busy then you should be ok, unless they're quiet in which case you will be served hours-old food, reheated. At the prices they charge it is no wonder the place is quiet all the time now. Better quality at the other end of the high street, and ample parking behind.

Long wait for our fish and chips. So we expected it to be hot and fresh. It was the opposite. Cold and greasy except for one piece of fish. Very disappointing

An unassuming take away in the village of Banstead, Surrey - a long established service with always swift service and excellent food. After a long Saturday we decided on a treat and had a fish & chip dinner for 4 - along with a sausage in batter, scampi and mushy peas (can't stand these but some people like them)!! You can make a telephone order if you wish, but we just went there and only queued for 5 minutes and then waited for 15 minutes for the food to be given to us - steaming hot as ever. Superb value at £5 per head even with the extra bits. We have had chinese food from here as well - the menu is very extensive for that!! They do a delivery service for the chinese food but unfortunately not the fish & chips - maybe something to consider in the future - PLEASE!!!! Will always recommend this eatery and continue to use it!!

Quick for takeaway and take card so bit more conveneint than the other chinese down the road. Food was not as good though. It is tasty, good portions but more expensive and not such good value for money

Excellent care and service from a family run business. They provide delicious and generous portions of food which ranges from their wide selection of Chinese cuisine and traditional Fish & Chips.

Spent over £30 on Chinese takeaway sampled a little of each dish as it all looked a little insipid and tasted just as bad threw the lot in the bin. Avoid this place even if your desperate.

Regularly the best value chips in the area

We bought chips here on two occasions recently. Disappointed first time but gave them another try. Mistake. On both occasions, the chips tasted like they had been fried in stale oil. Would recommend avoiding.

This place is great! It sells good quality Chinese food, and fish and chips, it does pick up and delivery. The food is good and the price is fair. Quickly cooked and delivered. Great just to pop in when you fancy a Chinese.

Service here is slow especially when it is busy but I'd rather wait a bit longer here and get decent food than use any of the other local Chinese restaurants. I have tried them all and this is the best. The fish and chips are good too.

It does get very busy here but that's testament to how good the food is. A great range of dishes reasonably priced makes this a very well visited place in banstead

Gold medal house is amazing. I go all the way from hackbridge to it as nothing else compares!
