Chau's Garden in Reigate and Banstead

Never had a problem with the food, however, went again tonight website said it was open, when I got there from Boxhill it wasn’t ! This is the third time in 4/5 years this has happened to me, won’t be going back.

The worst Chinese I've ever had chow mein was so dry and the chicken balls very bland and sauce was horrible and the prawn crackers tasted like they were couple of days old

We go here very often. Owner is very friendly and we always have a chat. Food tasty and we like the set menus.

Food terrible, all tastes like it’s cooked in old oil, prawns tasted terrible, prawn crackers stale, chicken in black bean tasteless. Seaweed burnt . Satay chicken slimey… all in all worst takeaway I have ever had! .. all going in the bin!

Fried sezchuan chicken was not fried, beef in black bean sauce had no sauce, prawn crackers were stale. Every dish we ordered had little taste resembling to their name. Definitely not visiting again.

Vile, vile food! Basically just jelly. All the food was like like gloop and completely inedible. Do not waste your money. Worst Chinese I’ve ever ordered. I returned the food and was offered a partial refund to ‘cover their expenses’, let alone the expense of me having to drive back out to return it and still having no food.

asked for spicy beef chow mein and received noodles tossed in cayenne pepper. what happened to using real chillis. horrible

We have been using the taking away for many years and we both feel that the quality of the food and taste is excellent. Always consistently good and full of ingredients no matter what you order. The owner himself is a very nice chap and always service with a smile and made welcome.

Disgusting meal, the pancake roll had strips of ham! The chicken with black bean sauce was sauceless and mainly unripe peppers. Seriously needs an environmental health check! Threw it all away, won't waste my money there again.

They have a wok, soy sauce and spices, the meat was cooked but taste wise one of the more forgetful meals. Also received wrong chicken dish on first order, the hunt for a good local chinese in Tadworth continues.

Afternoon takeaway of hot and sour soups and chicken balls with bbq and sweet and sour sauce’s worst Chinese I’ve ever had. The soup is like a boul of gelatine the chicken balls are tiny and food is all round tasteless rubbish. Very disappointed

I have been coming to Chau’s Garden for over 10 years about once every two weeks (on average). I have recommended Chau’s G to various friends and they all say it is the best and travel miles to get it. In over 500+ orders I believe I have only received an order below par around 5 times. Even then it is delicious! In terms of vegetarian dishes I am not the best to say, I have had the spring rolls before and they are good enough. This place is the best and the only Chinese place for me! Also, very friendly and have a great chat every time I go in. Yes it is cash only but there is a cash point 15 metres away.

Very good quality, quick service and serve your standard Chinese takeaway menu. Would recommend.

Best Chinese takeaway for miles.

Sarah chicken covered in gloop with pineapple?! Spring rolls small with hardly any filling. Main courses were better but not by much. Not cheap and cash only. Will not be going back.

I recently visited my family from NZ and have each time I am over have ordered takeaway from the set menu. always excellent and never disappointed. I first went in 1985 and has been a friends and family stalwart ever since. well cooked, tasty food and large quantities! Keep it up Mr Chau!

Shocked by the price for what you get. Food was ok. But not worth a remortgage.

Lovely food clean and fresh everything from the food to the service is 1st class. If you haven't already tried this takeaway then I'd say try it. You will probably make it your new favourite Chinese takeaway. The dishes are all to a high standard and if there's anything else you need ask for it and they will do their best to get it done for you also if you want a dish but in something else ie chicken instead of beef say they will only be to greatful to help you get whatever you want.

Confession time I guess. We have driven up and down the A217 on a daily basis for the best part of two years and somehow never noticed this lovely little take-away. Possibly it is because it is tucked away next to the BP service station that it is so easily over-looked however my excuse is that I am too busy paying attention to the road (just thought of that one so I'm feeling smug!). Anyway, a long journey back saw us stopping off for fuel and looking at the ready meals in the M&S store when a staff member suggested we try it. What a find! Really lovely and very tasty food. Not greasy and clearly freshly cooked. The place was surprisingly busy and talking to those waiting for their food it is well known locally. Very pleased to have found it and very happy to recommend it.

Friday evenings are not complete without a visit here, salt and chilli prawn is a favourite, as are Singapore noddles and any of the vegetable dishes

Chau's garden used to be our first choice for Chinese, sadly this isn't the case any more. Recently their food has changed dramatically for the worst and for the price we paid it's unacceptable. The food we've had recently has been overcooked, greasy and nasty not to mention cold because they always take so long and is cold by the time it gets home. We tried to call and complain but the person who answered didn't speak much English apart from the numbers on the menu so it was useless. For people who used to love it there its gone down hill and we won't be eating from there in future.

The food is very nice. The service is very quick, our order was completed within about 10 minutes. The staff are very pleasant, and the cost is fairly cheap

Always a favourite of ours and we've never been disappointed with their quality of food or price. Their swiftness on telephoned orders is outstanding.

Been using this takeaway for quite some time now and can honestly say we've never had a bad meal. Food is always freshly cooked and tasty and their noodles are in my opinion up with the best I've ever had.

Been eating here for years. Family run business fronted by the the son of the late owner. Very friendly family. The food is very consistent and always tastes great. 1 downside that they don't deliver but it's well worth a drive every time.

I go here whenever we want a Chinese takeaway. Popped in on the off chance to get a takeaway had pork balls with sweet dipping sauce, shredded chilli beef and chicken pad Thai, Prawn crackers and rice. Total cost was £20 overall fantastic takeaway friendly service...
