The best restaurants in New Forest South East

Great atmosphere, great music me and my parters go to pub.

I have been using this take away for 20years never bothered with another. The food has always been delicious and I have tried many times to replicate the flavours after watching them cook my food to no avail. Delivery is haphazardous but collect it yourself and its brilliant

Where do I start! When you walk in you are greeted with a hostile reception from the weird locals round the bar. The bar has nothing on tap, all comes out of a bottle or can. My husband’s coke was flat my lemonade in my vodka was flat and warm. The outside seating area was at best unusable and dirty so we sat inside, horrible atmosphere, the locals kept popping out the back and coming back looking odder than before. A very unpleasant establishment. It’s a shame the area does not have a decent bar or pub.

Stayed in a deluxe room, needs a little TLC , bed extremely comfortable.Thank you to ALL STAFF (sorry didn't get all names) Courtney extremely helpful, but everyone there were amazing and made our stay perfect. We will be back. Recently returned April 2025 OMG Thank you to Eddie (Manager) you are an outstanding member of this establishment. Couldn't do enough to make our stay THE BEST ! so so helpful,friendly. Couldn't of wished for more, made us feel the most important people ever. Thank you once again to ALL STAFF, I have already booked our next stay.

Food is really good value here big portions friendly service and quirky building to enjoy z relaxing time definitely recommend

Only had lunch, didn't stay at the hotel. First time visiting and wouldn't go back. Not a lot of atmosphere for such a lovely setting and an expensive place. Could do with some chilled live music or at least a playlist on. Service was friendly enough, but they forgot one of our side dishes yet still printed it on the bill. The menu wasn't very exciting and the prices are wild. I went with the bbq octopus and I should have just stuck to drinking wine because the food was so unpleasant. Such a small portion but didn't matter anyway as it was tough and chewy with not a lot of bbq flavour or seasoning. The rest of the dish with the butter beans and chorizo was so rich and sickly. I tried some of my friends sirloin steak and that was very chewy. That in itself as a meal was over £50! Just another style over substance place where the rich hang out.

Afternoon Tea was amazing, probably the best part of our stay. When booked in for valentine's dinner online was told normal menu available. Then when sat down for dinner the gave us a menu with very limited options on and told that all that was available. When our drinks arrived the young lad spilt a load of the beer on the table and then just walked away without apologising or offering to clean it up. We ordered the camembert which was nice but had to request for more bread as very little given. We then had the beef wellington sharer which was £65. The beef inside one of them was not thicker then a finger , we complained and they did get us another piece not much bigger though. The beef inside the wellington was very chewy. The potatoes tasted like they had been microwave. Vegetables were ok. This was the worst wellington we had ever had , practically inedible, we only ate as starving and paid a lot of money for it. When saying we were unhappy with the meal they did take the service charge off. Most of the staff seemed clueless and not well trained. We went and sat near bar area, we were still so hungry that we had to buy packets of crisps from bar. Bedroom was very tired and need of some tlc. Stains all over the carpet. There were stains all over the duvet cover. Heater did not work in room. Breakfast was ok .

Great Garden, amazing views of the new forest. A few options snacks options for horses and dogs as well! Will definitely be back.

The staff were friendly and the premise appeared clean.

Lunch with an old friend yesterday was excellent. The menu was short but had good choices and the dishes we chose were very good if not excellent. The service was heplful, attentive and polite witouth being intrusive. The price for a our lunches was reasonable. Altogether a most successful and satisfying lunch.

Tuve dos cenas fabulosas y un desayuno los días que este restaurante recién abierto abrió sus puertas y volvería por la comida en un instante. Además de un gran asado, también tienen un buen menú completo, aunque algo limitado, para elegir. Toda la comida estaba caliente, sabrosa y servida a su debido tiempo, así como un carrito de ensaladas donde podía tener todo lo que quisiera. El desayuno del segundo día fue maravilloso, donde de nuevo es todo lo que querías. No te lo pierdas.

The crown is a warm and inviting pub/ restaurant. The soft lighting, rustic wooden furniture, and crackling fireplace create a perfect setting for a relaxed evening. A nice place for anyone looking to enjoy a hearty meal and a good drink. The staff and serving at The Crown are very good, Lisa was very friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed the Easter competition 🙂and, we will come back here .

The nicest people ever!! My car got a flat tire and I went into the pub to get wifi to find help. Everyone there was so sweet, friendly and helpful! If I lived here, I’d go there everyday! The owners were so kind and even the other patrons were very friendly! Will go for lunch or dinner.
