New Happy Palace Chinese Takeaway in New Forest

You guys are doing everything absolutely right. This is the easiest 5 star I've ever given any establishment. You are hands down the best Chinese take away in Totton. The chef is clearly passionate about what he does because you can taste it in every single bite. Your food is absolutely yummy. Compliment to the chef 👩‍🍳

Took over two hours to be delivered. Won’t ever use again.

Ordered food at 6.20pm, still no sign of it at 9pm, phoned restaurant numerous times, they leave phone off the hook so you can't get through to them. Finally spoke to someone, they were apologetic but I have basically concluded the reason is, that the owners have put money ahead of any customer service, clearly accepting way too many orders that they couldn't possibly service in any reasonable time. Will not be using again and would advise anyone to avoid this place.

Unfortunately the delivery time is shocking, great food but they always say 1 - 1.5 Hrs. Reality is 2hrs plus.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I would give zero stars if I could. Unless you want to starve to death then please avoid this restaurant at all costs. No communication when running late, they turn their phones off so you can't call them and ask where your food is when you ordered it 3 hours ago. They close on their website without letting you know but still took our order an hour before. I even drove to the shop with no one at the counter to speak to.. Then the driver calls to say that he's at our house, we drive home and he's taken the food away!! No refund offered. Honestly. Go anywhere else. Poor customer service, poor quality and this is just ridiculous.

We have used several times before for delivery and food is always good. Delivery takes a long time but never normally to much of an issue until tonight. Ordered at 17.30 said delivery will be 19.25. It’s now 20.50 still no delivery and can’t get through on the phone as says voicemail is full. Tried emailing but in valid email. We have paid for this food that we haven’t got. Looking at reviews this seems to be an on going problem. AVOID AVIOD. Will not be using ever again and will be taking further action tomorrow as they have taken our money!!!!

Tried to order online but restaurant said they were closed due to demand, tried again later told order would be ready at a certain time but had to wait another 25 minutes. Young children running around the kitchen not ideal in a busy kitchen.

Food great just pick up yourself as delivery is useless .

3 and a half hours wait for delivery so far, still no response from business. Instant voicemail every time. Food is good, but don't get a delivery.

What’s the point of asking customers to order on your own website instead of Just Eat when you can’t even fulfill the delivery??? Waiting since 6pm! It’s now 8.35pm.

We have just had the most amazing Chinese delivery from the New Happy Palace in Totton. We have been using this Chinese takeaway for over 30 years and it is so consistently good and never disappoints. Amazing!

Delicious food, always pipping hot, fast and friendly service, huge menu choices, really good value, we wouldn’t go anywhere else :0)

Fantastic food! Normally we collect but because it was my son's birthday we went for delivery, bad move! We ordered at 5.30pm and the food arrived at 9.00pm. So moral of the story is go the extra mile and collect the food.

Ordered from here on the word of somebody,however big mistake ordered at 6.11pm told would be delivered at 7.50pm,decided to ring them at 8.20 after 4 tries spoke to somebody told it was ready and be with us in 10 mins finally arrived at 9.00pm,so will not be using again.

Not worth ordering on the weekend even via their own website. Over an hour after projected delivery time and no updates. Good food but absolutely dreadful customer service and delivery times.

Order from here often, but today’s meal was not great. Husband found two long hairs in his chicken fried rice, which is really off putting, and we threw half of it away. My prawns were over cooked and squeaky, and honestly did not seem fresh. Prawn crackers were clearly yesterdays, as they were going stale. Really poor, and after waiting an hour and half for this “food”, I’m not sure we’ll order from here again.

Placed our order at 6:40pm, and received it at 9pm. Chicken balls are chewy and uncooked. "egg fried rice" contains no egg. ridiculous excuse for a restaurant, place deserves its own episode of kitchen nightmares.

Booked at 6:45. Should have come at 7:45, now 8:45. Says answer phone machine full, when rings just goes through nobody picks up. No way of contacting. It however did arrive at 9:50! 3hrs late!! Surely they call to say it’s taking time? Lovely food, IF it arrives!!!!

The best Chinese in my local! Their spicy singapore fried rice is just amazing and they always make it alot spicier just the way we like it. Can’t recommend them enough!

Honestly food is absolutely outstanding from here, friends and family all agree, the food is always piping hot, great portions, soooo tasty. The chicken curry is so tender cooked to perfection, nothing is greasy, crispy chips, prawn toast is beautiful. Please ignore these reviews because their food is 10/10 !!!

If you want something meat free, DO NOT bother, ordered vegetarian chicken and half way through got a mouthful of crispy chicken....I felt sick!! So that has now spoilt me enjoying ANY type of Chinese food again.

Food arrived 15 mins late, then whilst plating up found pubic hair in food called takeaway they collected food and gave full refund

3 hour wait for food. I get it’s a Saturday night but 3 hours. Shocking. The food isn’t the best either

If you fancy getting poorly then do make sure your order chicken balls from here, the staff tried to reassure me over the phone the chicken balls were definitely cooked as they are doubled cooked.

Terrible, terrible takeout. It took almost 3hrs to receive our food only to find the vegetarian dish contaminated with meat and therefore inedible. When I called up about it the guy "didn't know" if they cooked vegetarian and meat dishes separately, which basically means they don't but won't admit it. I cannot un-recommend this place enough, and definitely avoid if you have any dietary requirements concerning meat.

Food is nice but the delivery during busy times is dreadful. I understand that on this day of the year (Christmas Eve) it's busy but to have food you ordered at 5pm show up at half 9 is a bit of a joke. To make matters worse they switch the phones over to voicemail when busy so you can't even chase the order. I would give fewer stars but the food is good.

Food is lovely but wait time if ordering online is 2 hours which is not acceptable!! shame because its lovely food. Just go in and collect!

Ordered for the1st time tonight only took 40 minutes to be delivered from ordering, big portions and well the food was really good my husband was impressed and he is a retired chef can be difficult to please him where food is concerned so yes 5 🌟

Very disappointing with chicken very chewy, burnt egg fried rice and greasy. Thrown half the food away as family refused to eat it. Would get more enjoyment out of a McDonald's which would cost less.

Great takeaway.. Nice large chicken balls! The beef and brocoli in oyster sauce was good, and the salt pepper squid was really good.

The food is nice, but you'll getting it 3 hours after you ordered (hopefully! It's not here yet). Phoned them 35 times, call goes to voicemail and the voicemail is full. Please hire some staff!

Really nice takeaway haven’t used them before but will definitely use them again and unlike all the other Chinese takeaways in my area there open on a Monday

3 hours for delivery tonight , phone off the hook take the wee wee at times this place ,

Zero. Nothing. Ordered at 6pm. No phone. No Email. No food. No thanks. 10pm toast for us then. Absolute joke.

First time of using these. Can only give one star instead of non. Order placed at 1805hrs, confirmed that delivery would be at 1947hrs or before, that time came and went. phoned at 2010hrs, phone call eventually answered at 2021hrs. Asked where our order was, was told its on the hot plate be with you in 10-15mins. now 2045hrs still waiting. Don't think I will be using these again. Looks like beans on toast for other half's birthday meal tonight. Will update at a later time when order arrives, if it does.....

I always always end up coming back because the food is amazing, never had a bad lot from them. They take a little time for delivery but it is worth the wait by far.

I have lived in marchwood for 13 years and always used the same takeway but as they dont deliver i tried the new happy palace.the food was delicious, hot and on time and the portions were huge. definatly my new go to chinese.

A good Chinese Take Away, been there for decades, you can always hear them clattering away with Woks in the background, would like to see a large window so you can see the Chefs prepping😆 Good prices, never any complaints.

2020 update service seems to have picked up again. 2019 update: dropped stars again. Tonight was just poor service. It's such a shame as food is nice. We ordered at 7 on their website. Recieved an email saying it would be with us in an hour. After 2 hours and still no show and multiple failed attempts to get them on the phone we got through and were told it would be another 20 mins. Come on Happy Palace!!! 2018 Update: they seem to have taken feedback. Food now arrives on time. Good work Older: This used to be a Nice takeaway and to be fair the food isn't too bad. What let's it down is the service. Food for collection is not an issue but if you want delivery they say 40 mins. After an hour if you can get through on the phone (which can be difficult) they say another 20 mins. And maybe after 40 mins it turns up. Such a shame as was our favourite Chinese but until they sort out this issue we won't be ordering again

Have used Happy Palace for the last 2 years but will not be using anymore!! The last 3 times we've ordered we've had issues with missing items and had to wait over an hour for the missing items to be delivered!! I ordered tonight as I have had a busy day painting, placed the order at 5.30pm to be told it would be delivered at 6.50pm, thought it was a long time but as it's a Saturday night thought they are probably busy....I am still waiting for my food now nearly 2 hours later!! I have just phoned as I had a notification at 6.45 to say out for delivery, to be told it's only just left the shop they didn't seem interested that he had upset customers!! I will not be going back!!!

First time using this take away Ordered online (very easy) Got email confirming the order then another giving delivery time. Delivered exactly the time stated and the food was excellent. We have found our go to chinese food takeaway in Totton Highly recommended

Excellent, as normal. Just one little point. When I phoned my order through, I can normally can change an item in the set menu.But on this occasion was told not possible. But after I made a point of saying it's been ok in the past.,at this point.At change of mind. Thankyou .👍

Have been using this Chinese for years.. usually lovely. Tonight was dreadful. Ordered at 6.40 and was told delivery was over 2 hours so I chose to collect. Was told 7.20. waited over an hour... alongside other unhappy customers for over an hour.for my order to come out. Food was bland tasteless and freezing cold. Think you need to cut down on the amount oforder's you take and concentrate on doing less orders at the standard you used to be as tonight there was alotof unhappy customers.

Always had a good experience with this restaurant. Today I rang to say my order had been mixed up. Call taker blamed me (wouldn't have ordered meat, dont eat it) and hung up on me. Wont be using again

Excellent food at a reasonable price

I wouldn't even give this Chinese a star if I had the choice.. I placed my order at 17:36 on Saturday 2nd May. After an hour and a half I received my email confirmation which noted that I would receive a second email for my delivery time. The email never arrived so after calling 30 plus times trying to get through I eventually spoke to Tim at 19:41 who advised that my order was already out for delivery. With that I put the phone down and waited a further hour before calling again  which took a further 30 plus tried to get through, at 20:42, over three hours of placing my order, Tim advised there had been an issue with my order and it hadn't been started. He explained other people had been waiting 2 hours In which I replied 'you told me my order was already out for delivery' when in fact, it hadn't even been cooked. At that point it was too late to receive the food. I requested a full refund in which he said was fine and it would take 14 days to arrive back in  my account. I wouldn't recommend this place. If they cannot handle the orders coming through, they should simply stop taking the orders. I understand with everything g going on that there was a delay In deliveries and I was expecting that, but after 3 hours and being told it was out for delivery when it wasn't, is taking the piss. On the other hand, Eastern House in Southampton managed to have my order ready within 20 minutes and the food was bloody lovely!!

Myself & my husband are so happy you are open again, you provide lovely hot meals that never disappoint, we have tried other takeaways, but no where near as good as yours, thank you for making this locksown more bearable, stay safe

Always use this takeaway, but very disappointed this evening, not enjoyed my meal at all 1 dish over cooked and tasteless the other not cooked enough. Shame

My favourite chinese for miles. Reasonably priced. Fresh, tasty and not greasy. Always on time and hot when I collect. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Over 90 minutes wait for food...

Ordered with Just Eat then hours was added onto my delivery time and couldn't get hold of the take away as it kept going to voice mail. Took ages to get through to just eat. Finally cancelled my order. Total waste of time.

Always really nice food when it actually gets round to arriving. It's never on time but the food is always hot and tasty when it eventually does get here
