The best restaurants in East Hampshire South East

It’s rare for me to treat myself to a takeaway. There were so many dishes I’d never tried before but there are helpful descriptions which guided me through. This meal far exceeded my expectations, it was just delicious, every dish. A complementary salad was just enough to separate the different flavours. I will definitely order again to try some of the other dishes that caught my eye.

I arranged a wake here for family and friends to follow a family funeral. As you’d expect, such functions have a short notice. The team at The Rising Sun bent over backwards to accommodate our party - great food at a very reasonable price. The service was simply outstanding: unobtrusive management and staff making sure that everyone was catered for; tea and coffee ready on arrival; meeting dietary needs; catering for additional guests; and, all with a ready smile whilst still allowing the group privacy. The overall atmosphere was positive and respectful and, importantly, the “regulars” were still looked after. A super positive experience at a difficult time - The Rising Sun by name and by nature.

I had the duck salad, and although the quality was good the quantity was very small. Ok duck is expensive, but the amount of salad was poor. And no--one asked if everything was Ok.

Bought fish and chips to take away. Was served by Bianca....Food was lovely....well presented and Bianca was great in serving me and doing a great job . Will definetely go there again. Value for money and great staff.

My husband and myself came for lunch on a Friday in August whilst on holiday in the local area. Large pub with gardens near a fairly busy road. Much quieter than expected and we had a good choice of seats in the garden in the sunshine. Was served drinks quickly at the bar by a helpful staff member. Given menus and ordered food. Food came out quickly and was very hot. I had a veggie burger & my husband fish & chips. Tasted great! Definitely no complaints from us. Would recommend.

Great looking venue. Pool tables, bar food & premiership football on the TV are the attraction for us. HOWEVER…The food is ridiculously over priced but massively under delivered!! £17 for a Club Sandwich…Without fries! Add on another £5.50 for Chips.. £17 for a Beef Sandwich…Again, without fries!….. So that’s £22,50 for a Sandwich & chips!! £18 for a bowl of Caesar Salad!!!!!! £18 for a Classic (meaning basic with a slice of Tomato & a lettuce leaf!) Burger with a scattering of chips thrown on the plate with an eggcup sized portion of coleslaw! £7.50 for dessert! The Pool tables & cues are shabby nowadays & only one table is in working order…Costing £2 per game. Add on large soft drinks for the kids & a couple of Pints & G&T’s for the grown ups & it becomes a VERY VERY expensive trip to a local bar for a bite fo eat & watch the football while the kids shoot some Pool on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon!!! Very disappointed with the menu & especially the quality of the food!… Shocked & bankrupt by the Prices!!!!

In the past,the food has always been great,but over the past year or so,the food is becoming tasteless.I've tried a few options on the menu,but each one has been disappointing.I doubt I will be ordering from there again.The place seems to change ownership every now and then,guess that means different cooks.this is the worst it's been for years.It's a shame because it's very close to me and used to be so good

Use to love this place, so decided to travel from Bordon to grab what was the best Chinese in the area. Ohh dear, what a mistake. Rude obnoxious young adult on the till, who didn’t even bother to make eye contact during ordering, she was savagely rude to the point if I wasn’t so hungry I would have told her to F### Off. anyway got food to find ribs incinerated, beef in oyster, without oyster sauce as no taste, and special curry that tasted more like Bisto. Shame on you guys, and paid £32 for the trouble. Never again folks. If it’s 2nd generation staff, the retired need to come back, or loose their hard earned legacy.

A hidden gem! This is a really lovely pub. Excellent service and delicious food. We thoroughly recommend it. The roasts are incredible!

i don’t know what happened but i was missing 2 dishes from my order, i called up to complain but it was very much “i don’t know what i can do about that” just feel like i’ve been ripped of £20 worth of food. check your order before you leave that’s all i can say reall…

Fabulous little find. Was looking for a place for Breakfast and found the Robin Hood. Great choice of Breakfast and lovely view. Food tasted fab and good portion sizes. Great friendly service as well. Well worth a visit.

Fun little pub with plenty or locals full of stories

A very smart Wetherspoons. Architecturally a good blend of the original building and a huge new extension. Plenty of outside and inside space with several terraces.

I recommend the very affordable and satisfying breakfast, which includes free coffee refills. The bar also offers a great selection of reasonably priced drinks, including many local beers and ciders served from casks. The staff were very friendly. The walls are decorated with interesting posters about local historic buildings and notable people.

Very thankful to the staff fitting us in today for Sunday lunch, food was amazing we had Roast beef and chicken , our son had the macaroni cheese thumbs up on this too , staff were very friendly and always on hand to help , will be back to try more food dishes that looked great on the menu :) happy family easter dinner out
