We had a truly wonderful experience at this restaurant in Liverpool! We were warmly welcomed by a lovely and charming Brazilian host Giovanna , who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious – full of taste The atmosphere was equally impressive: cosy, beautifully decorated, and full of character. A hidden gem in Liverpool – we’ll definitely be coming back!
First I went to Pizza Express, it was 16:45 on a Saturday afternoon and they turned me away because they were too busy even though there were only about 5 people in there. Thank goodness they did! I found this gem of a restaurant instead. They were happy to fit me in without a booking and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The wine was chilled and the pizza was absolutely delicious.
Ditch the chain restaurants and come here instead. You won't regret it!
Dissatisfied with my meal, vet dry mash and the steak was also dry, no oil, grease even, no juice at all, my plate was bone dry underneath it, I had mash for a change but realised all the meals advertised with mash have gravy on them, now I realise why, told the waitress with straight dark hair but she didn't really seem interested tbh, mentioned it to her when she collected the plates as no one had asked if everything was OK after it had been served, a shame really as I have always had a decent meal there
Paid a visit to ravenglass on Saturday 4th January with another couple , and finished up in the ratty arms .... brilliant pub , excellent range of ales and lagers and a very warm welcome....most of all our visit was made all the more pleasant by the lady behind the bar .....sorry to say I didn't get her first name but her surname is Denvir.... She's an absolute diamond and can't do enough for her customers, needless to say we will be back for another visit in the not too distant future. Thanks again for a great afternoon....

Gorgeous old pub, dog friendly. They gave my dog a bowl of water & treats. Lovely open fire & everyone really friendly & chatty. I went to the toilet & put my bottle of water on top of the toilet & it went flying off the top of the toilet & ended up in the next toilet. I love spooky stuff so I wasn't scared! One of the most haunted pubs in Chester, definitely worth a visit. It's very beautiful and there are lots of haunted dolls. It's child friendly & serves food.
Simply great food, friendly proprietors, the closest I’ve come to real Italian food outside of a few restaurants in London and of course, Italy itself.
Went in after I missed breakfast one morning and can't wait to go back! The staff at Mio Mondo were so nice and patient with me while I was choosing. I'm a picky eater so it was appreciated that I had time to choose, food came out piping hot and was so good! Their homemade cakes were delicious as well! 🍰
great welcome from the staff, food was superb, we had the steak pie, chunky chips and gravy, being in our seventies, the SMALL portion filled us both to bursting.
to add to that, the loweswater gold was great.
all in all we had a very enjoyable lunch and will be back when we return to the lakes in june 2025.

Stayed 2 nights at Plato’s, myself & my wife. Had a perfect stay. The hotel is clean & tidy & as one of the nights we stayed was Friday night, there was live music in the bar downstairs with a good atmosphere. Great central location in the town. The staff were friendly & accommodating. Good breakfast choice in the morning, we went for the full English both mornings, served with fresh tea & coffee, juice toast & jam/marmalade. Very nice!
We would definitely stay here again.
