Friendly owners and excellent hot chocolate and coffee.

Only a quick visit after a long walk but we all enjoyed our hot drinks. Good coffee as well as the expected hot chocolate. Very friendly owner who clearly enjoys interacting with her customers.

Hidden gem in Windermere! We first met ChoccoBar 3 years ago at a Christmas market when we tried their hot chocolate pouches. A few days ago we found one in our freezer, still as amazing as when we bought it and we decided we had to get more... This is our first trip to the cafe and we will definitely be back🥰 Lovely staff, reasonably priced and the best hot chocolate selection you will ever try🤤

Me and my daughter had a gluten free afternoon tea here, the staff were incredible, the afternoon tea was delicious, the gluten free cakes, waffles and scones were absolutely gorgeous. I had mentioned when I phoned to book that we were coming for my daughters birthday and the lady brought out a piece of cake with a candle so we could sing!! The cherry on top of it all was the cafe had a dog called Holly who sat so well behaved on a chair at our table bringing is absolute joy!!! I would highly recommend!

Great place for a nice hot chocolate, coffee and something to eat, lovely service, enjoyed the chat at the reminiscing over a different town I grew up in and sharing a bit of my ham sandwich with the owners dog 😀.

I have made it a tradition to always visit the chocco Bar every time I visit the Lake District. The Bar is ran by Rhona, Edwardo, George and their dog Holly. We have visited many times now, and have always welcomed like old friends. I went today with my son and dog Apollo. You can sit inside or out with your dog. I had a hot chocolate and a fresh made waffle. Amazing as always. Love this place.

My freind and I were here for the day. The food and service was excellent. Nice relaxed atmosphere. I had a panini with salad and it ws delicious. My friend has to have gluten free and she said the waffle which was delicious too. Definitely recommend

I am a chocoholic . This place is heaven for me ……. Amazing good quality thick chocolate with fresh made Churros and waffles. The way they present the hot chocolate really with happy thought, side strawberries , marshmallows and whipped cream. Just beautiful !!!!! Great selections of songs too! Highly recommended!

We popped in for a brunch type vibe on a Friday morning and loved it. The hot chocolate is one of the best I’ve had, and really enjoyed the waffles too. Gluten free option makes this place stand out and the quality was fantastic. We were the only people in due to it just being opening time but that didn’t impact our experience. There was a nice atmosphere and we were greeted with a friendly face. Would recommend :)

As we were passing through we thought we would stop by and try the waffles as a friend of ours had recommended this cafe. We ordered to takeaway as we were very short on time, and despite some reservations that our ice cream would melt, the lady behind the counter provided an ice pack to keep it frozen for our 20 minute or so drive back to our holiday apartment! Needless to say the waffles tasted incredible and the ice cream survived! Top class service and very tasty waffles. Will definitely come again if we find ourselves in the area.

My partner and I went to Choccobar for the first time on Wednesday just gone on a day out from Blackpool. I think it was around 2 pm. The lady in charge was very welcoming and really friendly and chatty which is always refreshing nowadays. We had two thick hot chocolates,one with black forest flavour and one with banana. On the plate with the hot chocolates there were also sponge fingers,fresh cream and strawberries. Out of this world and the best hot chocolate I've had. We also had panini's with side salad drizzled with balsamic and really tasty thick ridged crisps. Again,brilliant food and so nice! They also have a dog there called Holly( I think) who was very cute. We had a good chat,fantastic food and drinks and we'll definitely head there again whenever we're in the area. Outstanding!

Choccobar Hot Chocolate House is an absolute gem! My visit was delightful from start to finish. We’ve tried their hot chocolate, coffee, and waffles, and each one was a treat for the senses. The hot chocolate is rich and indulgent, probably the best I’ve ever had! Their coffee is perfectly brewed, and the waffles were light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you're a fan of sweet treats and great coffee, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommend! We came all the way from Glasgow x

My partner and I are here on a holiday and were walking round finding somewhere for tea, ended up seeing the waffles on this cafes menu and couldn’t help ourselves, we both have sweet tooth’s but agreed these had to of been the best waffles we’ve ever had! Lovely owner, obviously works very hard and has happy customers

Being Coeliac, would thoroughly recommend here for delicious gluten free waffles. Had mine with fresh strawberries, chocolate and cream. Traditional maybe, but so tasty. Definitely be back anytime we're down on holiday.

The service was really good. I wasn't 100% about my choice of flavours and they were really accommodating and made me another. I really appreciated it as I don't eat waffles very often and was really excited about their GF batter. Would recommend a visit and the cinnamon, strawberry and maple syrup which was the favourite of the table. The hot chocolate was so delicious, a pudding in itself with all the trimmings and I had banana flavour which was sweet and so good, like the banana penny shop sweets. Enjoy when you visit! 🧇☕

Ordered 1 pot of tea, 1 coffee and 2 cakes, this took over 20 minutes to arrive (it was not busy) once ordered. Cakes were not tasty but very dry, furthermore, it was excessively expensive for what you get. Very bog standard for sure. We wanted to order other thing advertised at the till but none of these were available so very disappointed. Save time and just go to the italian a couple doors down.

Absolutely fantastic place! Haven't had a waffle since being diagnosed Coeliac 9 years ago! Staff were absolutely lovely, spoke to owner and the lovely George! Hot Chocolate was out of this world!! Will definitely come back!! Thank You, you made my day so special by not feeling different!!

A coffee shop selling scrumptious looking waffles (well so the posters showed) however at 1.30pm when I ordered I was informed "no waffles" ... A few measly cakes and that was it. "Oh" I said "It was the waffles I came for" .... ",yeh, we've been really busy"....hello? It's like peak season, did you forget it's a tourist resort? I could understand if it was maybe 4 or 4.30, but lunch time? Not very well thought out on the stock planning. It's quite a nice place indoors but it took quite a while for a coffee to appear and the slice of lemon drizzle cake that I did order....well I think the drizzle must have run out along with the waffles as it was very dry. Disappointing is my verdict.

We found this place by looking for “gluten free places to eat” and were so far from disappointed that we went three times in one week. Their waffles (all gluten free, but if it doesn’t matter to you, you wouldn’t know) are amazing - especially the maple syrup, strawberry and cinnamon ones. Very friendly service, can highly recommend.

Left their thick hot chocolate almost untouched as it was the most horribly sweet thing i ever tasted in my life, as if 70% syrup. Almost £7 for a large hot chocolate is ridiculous for what we got. My husband topped his with water to drink it. Servers are lovely but very stressed and service is slow

Very lousy service. We were a group of 10, and before going in, I asked them if they had enough cream teas for 10, and they said yes. We stood in line to order one by one but the staff took the first 5 orders, then turned around to make their orders, and left the rest of the us waiting at the counter for nearly 15 minutes. By the time it was our turn to order, I heard the manager tell the staff to run out to the shop and buy more clotted cream. The service was also extremely slow. At the very least they could have taken everyone's orders together and let the customers sit down and relax. Half the group got their orders before the other half had even placed their orders. I found this really inconsiderate. Later I heard the manager saying they were overwhelmed because 10 of us walked in all at once. They could have just said no when I checked before we all walked in as a group. Really inefficient. The coffee was just average. I ordered a lemon ginger tea and it just looked like plain hot water. The chocolate cake was very nice though. An older review mentioned a dog tied to a railing and the dog was there this time too and it kept barking. Not very atmospheric. Would not recommend this cafe

Hour wait for 6 hot chocs, churros and waffle. Too much syrup made one "luke warm" choc undrinkable, milkshake was nice. No hand drying available in the toilet.

Waited for over an hour just to be asked what we wanted and another 20 minutes for the food. It came cold as well. Would not recommend. It had a load of hairs in it as well. Very expensive for a small waffle that was cold and had loads of hairs

Wasn’t busy but waited too long for churros which was over cooked, and the hot chocolate was small, slightly cold and nothing amazing to have a shop for it. Shop itself a could do with some updates

We booked for an afternoon tea here for our last day in the lakes. The food was so beautiful. On the afternoon tea there were fresh churros, waffles and scones. I was so full so had to take a few bits home but I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting a lovely afternoon tea. The lady who owns and runs this with her son is so kind and welcoming. Great with our puppy too! Will hopefully be returning 💕 Hot chocolate definitely lived up to its reputation, it was so delicious 😋

I had a day out with my daughter and granddaughter as it was my granddaughter's 4th birthday. The lady brought over our drinks then, having seen my granddaughter's birthday badge, she put a candle in her ice cream sundae, and wished her a happy birthday. We enjoyed our waffles too!

Amazing hot chocolate and freshly prepared waffles. Any hot chocolate you pick it just cant wrong… and the sweetness of waffles is just enough to enjoy it. Loved it, will definitely visit it again and recommend it.

Sadly only one person serving, which seemed unfair on a bank holiday. She was lovely but had to phone for someone to come and help. Only one person in front of me but took 20 minutes to make two basic coffees, which weren't the best.

Owner left us waiting for TWENTY minutes for a coffee and a brownie. Had to remind her about our order, turns out she knew about it but decided to take a ten minute phone call instead. I don’t think this woman can handle basic tasks let alone a tourist caffe. Absolute shambles of a place AVOID

Nice place to eat but she said the card machine wasn’t currently working so had to go get cash out, but looking at reviews this seems to have been an issue for quite some time. It seemed quite poorly managed as she was sending someone out to buy food for the shop from the co-op. There were two dogs in the shop tied to railings, who she said belonged to her daughter who was on holiday, which raised some concerns as both the bowls there were bone dry so they had no water available to them, and this seems to have been an issue before looking at a previous review. Especially with the dog issue it just wasn’t the best experience.

Absolutely love this place been coming here for over ten years the chocolate drink are out of this world and the food is mind blowing if you are ever near you have got to pop in and try something you will be bowled over best chocolate place in the north love it

Nice food although on the pricey side. Slightly more out of the way so much quieter than the other cafes which we couldn’t get a seat in. Cash only when we visited but ATM across the road for those that don’t avoid paying income tax or offered to bank transfer.

Amazing hot chocolates! There was a very long wait for the table to be cleaned (it wasn't that busy) and for the order to be taken and delivered but it was incredibly tasty. Very rich, thick, flavoured (of your choice) hot chocolates.

Tasty hot chocolate but this place has definitely gone downhill, staff were stressed and the area where food is prepared was very messy and dirty looking, there was a bad smell and we had to wait ages, staff kept discussing amongst themselves how busy it was although there were only three other groups of customers in the shop. There was a dog tied up in there that seemed to belong to staff which wouldn't stop barking (finally they worked out it was thirsty and gave it a drink).

Lovely staff. Great food and coffee. The card machine was faulty on the day, so we had to pay in cash, and they didn’t have the correct change, likely due to an abnormal number of people paying with cash. They therefore rounded our bill down in order to give me extra change back. This obviously won’t be the case for future customers and was down to circumstance but was a really nice gesture. Highly recommend.

Best hot chocolate you will ever have in your life! Made the trip to the lakes not just for the gorgeous scenery but to have this delicious hot chocolate again! Already thinking about when we will be back!

Every time we come to Bowness, we have to go for a thick hot chocolate from the ChoccoBar! It's so so good, and they are super friendly in there 🙂

Manager/owner was having a go at one of the workers for getting an order wrong over the counter the whole time I was trying to order. Wasn’t very nice or professional to have at the side of me. Other workers were great and food was lovely

Called in as intrigued by the name, a rainy day, but sat outside. What a find. Yummy hot chocolate and really nice latte. Highly recommend a visit, so much more than chocolate on offer. A warm welcome, friendly service. Would definitely call back.

Wow...100% absolutely...wow! This is not your average ordinary hot chocolate - oh no, not a bit! Choccobar's luxury hot chocolate was beyond my wildest imagination, in fact I do not usually like hot chocolate but this is pure bliss! I tried the Lakeland Mint flavour and it is brilliant too. Definitely coming back here again and I highly recommend anyone visiting to stop here and try it for yourself!

Popped in for a snack, we ordered 4 Churros and a Pepperoni and Cheese Panini. It’s costs £13.20 and was very disappointed. It took 20 minutes to come once ordered. There wasn’t enough Chocolate for the Churros, and the cheese toasty certainly wasn’t worth the £8 price tag and certainly wasn’t a Panini. Very disappointing, certainly won’t be visiting again. The establishment itself is very dated and worn, the last photo was the seat I had at the tall table. Not very nice at all!

The best hot chocolate and waffles (which are also gluten free) with a huge selection of flavors to choose from. This is a fantastic independent business and is well worth popping in!

My partner and I visited the ChoccoBar and both ordered their hot chocolate, which we found to be delightful. The thickness of the drink made it feel indulgent without being too heavy. Our stepson enjoyed a waffle with all the trimmings, and from his satisfied expression, it was clear that he thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at ChoccoBar and would definitely recommend giving their offerings a try.

Amazing cappuccino, and the owner is super friendly

Very good customer service. The staff were very helpful and honest when I asked how the food was prepared due to halal diet. I also thought I had been given the wrong flavour of hot chocolate and it was replaced with another without question. Finally they also threw in a few extra churros because we had to "wait", although we didn't find the wait very long at all. When I asked to pay for the extra drink and churros they refused to take payment. Overall we were happy with the food, waffles were really light and churros were delicious too but it was the customer service that stood out the most.

Please update your opening times. We came multiple times on multiple days before the supposed online closing time and every time found the cafe was shut. Such a shame
