Sat night drinks and sunday lunch . Amazing staff both days . I work in hospitality and know first hand how hard it is , but the guys at the whistling pig are absolutely brilliant . The pub is gorgeous, lots of drinks to choose from regular special boards for food, and the sunday dinner is just wow 👌 never had a nicer dinner anywhere . Carnt wait to come back x

Great place to relax on caravan and camping club site after a day out, no driving after a meal and a drink, staff very helpful and friendly also good facilities for families to relax. Second visit to the site in a month so will consider another visit at a later date.

We ate here back in 2023 and it was amazing we dined here again today and can say it was still amazing we really enjoyed our sunday lunch. hopefully it wont be another 12 months before we are back definitly worth booking a table 😁

So happy and surprised to have this awesome bar on the campsite, great food and beers and the staff are brilliant too. There's even some games for the kids to play with.

Welcoming and friendly staff, good and efficient service. Food amazing, well presented and delicious. It was my partners 60th birthday and they even surprised him with a birthday cake. Which was so thoughtful. Would definitely recommend 👌

On site pub at the Camping and Caravan Club. Great atmosphere, decor and food. We had scampi, chips and peas, portion size really good. There was live music provided with a solo singer who had everyone up dancing. We will definitely be back.

Great place. Went there during world cup and they were screening it there. The staff were extremely polite and prompt.

Great little bar on a camp site - very very friendly

We are local to Staveley and went to the Whistling Pig for a meal, it was great. 10% off food and drink for locals too. We didn’t have a booking and the staff made sure we got seated and outside on the lovely terrace. The food, service and atmosphere was lovely. Be sure to check out the specials. Would highly recommend and will be back soon.

Wonderful Sunday Roast, best I've had in the area

Very welcoming on arrival. Accommodated a big group of us for food with no booking on Easter Sunday. Great food. Service was brilliant (really great with the young kids too). And very reasonably priced. Will be back again. Lovely terrace to sit out and have a drink and something to eat. Thank you!

Visited the whistling pig a few times recently, food is really good and service is great 👍 Ps the Sunday roast is amazing.

Went for dinner and through enjoyed it. I had a steak cooked how I like it and my wife enjoyed a loaded burger. Really nice chips as well. The selection of drinks is extensive and I would recommend the Northern Monkey beers, they are excellent. The young man behind the bar and the waiter were lovely people who made you feel at home.

Always a very friendly welcome from the staff. Great selection of beers on tap & a rotating couple of Cask Ales from Northern Monkey. Food looks excellent & is very well priced. Very informal atmosphere.

Unfortunately it was closed due to heavy snowfall and power cuts when we where there but it looks very nice from the outside and a lot of people told us it's very good, we will try again next time we visit the area

We didn't expect much as the place being a campsite only eatery, but food was absolutely amazing. I had a staffed chicken breast, it was fab. If you are on site it is worth not cooking one night and just chilling and eating at this place.

A fantastic surprise when we arrived on site and saw this little gem in front of us, really well laid out with loads of room to get around the tables, the staff are very friendly and efficient, lovely well kept beers and amazing food, very competitively priced too, the food portion sizes are good, the 12" meat feast pizza was just that, a feast, and the burger stack with "fries" was delicious, well worth a visit but booking is advisable as it can get very busy, highly recommended. Update: If you get the opportunity to go for Sunday Lunch; take it, we did and it was amazing, a choice of Beef, Turkey or Pork with all the bits you would expect and more, very reasonable price too, excellent value for money.

Excellent food ,Paige and the other staff were very friendly and helpful always happy to help,we stayed at windermere for the weekend , my only reason for not giving 5*it was rather cold and due to very bright lights it did feel even colder but only a small thing 😊

Excellent meals . Lovely ambiance pleasant staff. What's not to like ? Nothing. Fish was the nicest I've tasted in ages and the batter as light as a feather. Gammon and chips for the hubster was huge. More like a thick pork chop. Every morsel eaten except a few chips from both plates because the portions were huge .

Sunday Roast was fantastic... huge portion and cooked brilliantly. Service was great.

We stayed at the site for a three day break and were really impressed with the level of service, friendliness and the team on site. The Whistling Pig bar served great food and great selection beers and drinks from the bar at reasonable prices.

We didn't eat here as the kitchen was closed on the day of our visit, but the menu looked tasty and reasonably priced. The location is great: it is indeed rare to find a pub on a CCC Site. The only other one we have come across was in Oban. Such uniqueness was, however, let down at The Whistling Pig by the attitude of the young couple behind the bar who seemed rather less than pleased to see and serve us. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but these days, when one almost needs a mortgage to pay for a round, it's nice to receive service with that proverbial smile. Such criticism is, by no means, reserved for this pub: indifferent service, bordering on the rude, is encountered far too often in the UK 'hospitality' sector. It should come as no surprise that many pubs are now struggling to survive.

The food is amazing, had the lamb chops on a sunday night and the were delicious, usual menu fish and chips, burgers etc, reasonable price, for a campsite pub it's well worth a visit to save you cooking in your tent

Everything was amazing from their services to the food and drinks 100% will be coming back the staff were so lovely and it's dog friendly which was an great bonus for us

We ordered pizza, garlic bread, halloumi fries and fries for 2 people. Big mistake. There was enough food for 4 people at least and we had to take the garlic bread away. Portions are huge and food is very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Service is brilliant too. We sat outside and my only complaint would be dog hair on the furniture, not all of us love your dog like you do 🐶🐕🦮🐕‍🦺😒 Undeterred by the massive main courses we soldiered on and ordered dessert. Both were delicious and again, at £6 each, great value for money. Will be back!

We both had the roast beef sunday dinner, it was the nicest sunday roast we've had in a long time! and would highly recommend, We were staying on the Windermere camping and caravanning site and found the site lovely and peaceful and well maintained, we will definitely be back and definitely be booking a table at the Whistling pig

Pubs on campsites can be a bit mixed but this one is amazing 😎

Had the Gammon Sunday Roast and it was the best Roast I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed on the caravan site this pub sits within many, many times over the years. Northern Monkey Brewery took it over last year and have done an amazing job. If you visited it before then, it’s a very different pub now so well worth giving it another go.

We have just stayed here for the weekend and its our second stay. Lovely little pub on site serving outstanding food 👌 My partner had the fish and chips which was so fresh and a decent size. Lovely flaky white fish lightly battered. I opted for the chicken and chorizo with leek and potatoe. All I can say is 10/10 on both taste and presentation. Marcus who runs the bar is just lovely , very friendly and takes the time to chat to his customers. Thank you guys see you soon no doubt .

Awesome. Top bar. Good drink selection, speciality drinks from the quality Northern Monkey brewery and amazing food cooked on site. Additionally there is a superb pizza oven 2 nights a week with exceptionally cooked home made pizzas. We love everything about this place, part of our happy place and I look forward to returning.each and every time.

We also had another meal , steak and chips was cooked to perfection. We'll be having another meal with you before we go home. Very friendly and helpful staff and the pub is decorated really nice. Did Paul who made the negative comments go the the right Whistling Pig 😂 I’ve been going in since it reopened and all I can say is that Marcus is The Whistling Pigs greatest asset. He is very professional whilst being extremely friendly and helpful. His knowledge and enthusiasm is obvious for all to see, with the obvious exception be Paul.

Just had the most amazing Sunday lunch roast beef with all the timmings in the cosiest of pubs in beautiful surroundings and amazing caring staff looking after you..highly recommend 😋

Just had a few days glamping. Great site. The staff were lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable. The onsite pub is excellent. Special shout out to Marcus who was running the bar. Lovely guy. Very helpful. Made us all extremely welcome and there was quite a few of us. His knowledge and help regarding the local beers etc were gratefully accepted. Cheers Marcus.

Well went to the Whistling Pig pub at 6.35pm on the 25th August 2022 at the Windermere caravan and camping club site for a drink. Should not have bothered. Walked in stood by the bar young boy behind the bar was supposedly serving a customer but basically he was having a conversation about something or other I see him shake hands with the customer , which I thought was well out of order considering hygiene and the risk of transmitting viral infection. ie Covid. And I didn't see him sanitise his hands afterwards eather. Stood there waiting his mouth was working but his hands weren't. I got fed up waiting and walked out. On returning to my caravan I'm glad I didn't get served with serious Hygiene issue. Looking forward to a response for my Review. Well I had a reply from the owner as expected He stands by his bar staff. Which of course he does and tries to make me the bad guy for my honest review Well so my concern about the bar man's Hygiene or lack of it is totally acceptable and he said the staff take hygiene very seriously so shaking a customers hand and not Sanitising afterwards is OK and Hygienic. And also he is quite happy letting his staff talk to customers while others are waiting to be served. Well that's fine by me.

Had a lovely week staying at the Windermere camping & caravan club and have frequented the Whistling Pig Bar each night to a warm welcome and pleasant environment for myself and the family. The barman Marcus did everything to make us feel at home and warmly welcomed us, he held conversation with all visitors to the bar and offered his own conversation which is what is sort from a bartender. Very skilled in his bar craft as well as his attention to detail. Most things would go unnoticed to most people but I noticed he would quickly clear and wipe down tables once people had left removing any concern for those about covid situations in a social environment. The perfect place to enjoy a drink, chat and family time after a long day exploring the local sites and scenery the area has to offer. Will defiantly be back next year

Stunning place! What a beautiful addition to the camp site.

Our second time here and amazing place to be staff very welcoming and hard working. Lots of dog walks and near famous places to visit . The whistling pig has been newly decorated and has a lovely atmosphere outside sitting just a nice place to relax we will be back.

This is a nice venue on the camping and caravan club site. The food is good and a good range of drinks, the benefits being, not to far to walk back to your van.

Stayed 2 nights at The C&C Windermere site and since their was an on site pub/restaurant we decided to make use of facilities. Cozy , friendly pub which was quiet at this time of year. Ate in bar both nights and I have to say the choice, presentation and value was very good.

Service great. Food really good... but no dogs allowed in and no children allowed in the cosy pub section. We were relegated to a chilly small community hall looking area

Would be 5 star if dogs were allowed in on site pub! Apparently the CCC insist on ban as part of the lease. Very annoying when both pubs in village are also eateries but welcome dogs!
