AVOID this was absolutely the worst experience we have had..... ever !!
Food - totally in edible! not that there was much in the counter and no gravy!!
No utensils to get food, he used his hands to throw the cold yorkshire puddings in a tray
Service - what service !? No explanation offered
Restaurant - Tables were sticky
Cook/ Owner ?? (definitely not a chef!) the rudest, offensive man, no manners and very angry about something!!
Have you even worked in hospitality before???
We demanded our money back and left!
We will never ever step foot in the place again, perhaps this is why the place had very few customers!?
Wow how the mighty have fallen. What was a local treasure is now an expensive joke
£10_70 gets you small cold and chips. Fish over cooked and greasy. Chips literally looked like the bottom if the basket hard small bits of potatoes with 4 or 5 actual chips
When they advertise lunch time £6 for the same meal. What a rip off

I'm writing this post because I've just had a delivery from Uber. We chose Oldham Star as wete regulars at Cheetham star in Cheetham hill so guaranteed the food would be excellent. The Uber delivery driver that brought the food was not who was on there ID the food was cold after collecting over an hour before, I questioned the drivers (kids) they said the food was cold when collected. I knew it wasn't as the presentation and quality you could see. Just wanted the restaurant to know that I've put a complaint in that the food was excellent but cold because of there greedy drivers collecting too many order an driving Miles out the way who are ruining good businesses and it's time it stopped nearly £11 in fees thatis taken from the restaurant. Please if your food arrives cold complain to uber as its not the restaurants fault.
Fantastic as always. You cannot go wrong no matter what you order. The service is impeccable. The most polite staff around . I truly recommend no matter your age or budget.
Great stay, made to feel very welcome. Room was excellent, well appointed and furnished to a high standard.
Steven on the door was particularly helpful and welcoming, I will be returning.
Ate here on a Tuesday evening. The bar staff said there would be a 40 minute wait on food which was fine but ended up being 55 mins. The food wasn’t the best. I had the game burger and my father had the lambs liver - not what you’d expect for the price. Really disappointed.
Me and my partner stayed in Room 4 on 10th July. It's very expensive for what you are getting. The room was absolutely boiling, had to open window wide open, and have a fan on all night and still too hot, so I barely slept. The room is also very dated and needs refurbished for the price. Dinner was nice but long wait and again overpriced for pub food. Breakfast was disappointing, coffee disgusting, bacon dry and tough, cold beans and black pudding tough as old boots.

I enjoyed my meal at this venue. I had grilled chicken thighs. The portion was generous and well presented. I also had the best cup of coffee I had in a long time.
We arrived mid-afternoon, and not realising they were closing early, proceeded to order lunch for us and our small person. They didn't tell us and let us eat - it was only partway through our meal we realised as the place emptied and the sign on the door mysteriously turned to closed. If we had known / realised, we wouldn't have put them to the trouble. But we were glad we were able to stay because the service was friendly and the food was delicious and filling. And even more special, one of the servers played games and did magic with our little girl, which she thoroughly enjoyed and has been trying to recreate ever since. A lovely place to eat. We will definitely come again - perhaps this time we will pay attention to the signs!

Love the place but the two staff working today must be having a competition between each other to see who can be the rudest to customers. I’m not sure who’s winning as they are both ignorant and rude as each other. BUT all is almost fore given and the Sunday roast was absolutely amazing. In fact the roast was one of the best I’ve ever had.
A step back in time! Beautiful building. Warm welcome. Lovely serving ladies.
Scrumptious warm scones. Tasty tea.
All served in China cups, silver teapots and linen serviettes.
Menu large with plenty of choice.
Delightful experience
