The best restaurants in East of England

We've recently moved to the area, and we decided to try out a new Indian takeaway. Online ordering through the app was easy and straightforward. Text confirmation and eta when ready. The food itself was quite nice, my wife said her chicken rogan was tasty and the sag aloo was also nice and a good size. My lamb tikka passanda was OK, not a great deal of flavour, and the meat was a little tough! 😬 Even though it mentioned it on the app, no free poppadoms were provided. Would I order from them again, probably, but I will check out other options in the area.

All very tasty. I’m just yet to find a curry house that uses fresh chicken….or tastes like they use fresh chicken

Been coming here for Dim Sum for years, new owners in Nov 24 have kept the food and service the same, which is great as the food is the best Chinese for miles around. It’s worth the extortionate parking charges on the seafront to eat here. #dimsum #chinesefood

Poor service, staff didn’t seem to know how to help customers. They had little to no choice on the menu, soup of the day was taken off despite being in the menu. Had to wait 20 mins for a can of cola for my diabetic mother. When the tea finally arrived we were able to pour it into cracked and dirty cups. Would not recommend this place under this new management. Previously came here earlier in the year with the old management back when the place ran smoothly. This new management has no care for the customers and seemed entirely over their head with the 5 customers it had.

Spent £95 for 4 people on takeaway for delivery. Food was very nice. It was a Saturday night so delivery estimate was 55 min but waited for over 95min and when it arrived there was no salad for the Chicken tikka starters and the coconut rice was missing. Tried to call them but gave up in favour of eating meal. Managed to get through hour later, lady apologised and offered to send out missing items, bit late at that point so she offered to credit me for next order. Very disappointed with this so not sure I'll use them again as would have expected refund for missing items.

Absolutely loved it here, food was spot on, and the service was outstanding by Ozzy, so friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend coming here 👍🏼

Came here on new years eve and enjoyed the set menu. Normally we prefer to order Thai food a la carte, however we were not disappointed . Fantastic quality food, clearly all totally freshly cooked. Having eaten all over Thailand over many years can honestly say this is truly authentic and incredibly tasty food. Everything was delicious. All of the staff were great, friendly knowledgeable and polite. The atmosphere was cosy and intimate. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend you won't be disappointed.

We arrived at 5:00 and had the place to ourselves. Filled up while we were there with families, couples and mixed groups

Paid a visit to Never Turn Back for a carvery to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. Staff very friendly and accommodating and the carvery was absolutely 1st class. Highly recommend paying a visit and we will definitely be back. Thankyou very much for making mums meal that bit more special with the box of chocolates you gave her and the extra decorations you put on her birthday cake. Fantastic staff and a fabulous carvery. You won't be disappointed.

Had the Sunday roast sharing plater was very nice pork chicken steak thought the price was decent with 2 drinks about £56

Myself, hubby and oldest grandson came here for dinner. Amazing choice of food, excellent quality and a good price too. Sophie, our server, was excellent - friendly yet professional, attentive and knowledgeable. We couldn’t have asked for better. It’s been a lovely experience!

I'm usually not inclined to leave reviews but this is an exception! As soon as I walked in the owner, Carlos, was extremely welcoming and prepared me a seat and brought a tea to drink whilst waiting for the food. I had the lamb shank which honestly was one of the best I've had and he even gave a free baklava at the end, which again was extremely good! Honestly one of the best places in Cambridge both for the food but also the hospitality from Carlos and I regret not having come here before today! Despite seeming very unassuming from the outside I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

The best Xiao Long Bao/ fresh noodles 🍜 in Cambridge!!! This place serves authentic and tasty Chinese food!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing freshly handmade dumplings and noodles! You must try!!! Tips: Depending on the time of your intended visit, you probably have to wait in a long queue Therefore, try to visit outside rush hours as there are a limited number of seating. All in all I would say it is definitely worth waiting. Cash only payment

Relaxed, tasty mexican in the heart of Norwich! Interesting dishes that blend classic mexican flavours (standard chicken/beef burritos etc) alongside creative starters such as grilled leeks in mole sauce, cod croquettes (melt in the mouth and gloriously fishey), and tofu in spicy plum sauce. Value is reasonable, but by no means cheap. Good range of natural wines, Verdant beer on tap, Mexican bottled beers and mezcal/tequila. Limited veggie and vegan options, but possibly available on request (eg., vegan cheese).

Totally fresh and high quality Chinese food 10/10.
