Worst risotto i ever had. Dried rice from the bottom of a pan with the ingredients on top. I have been before, and food is usually good, but this time, awful experience.

What a wonderful place for coeliacs! They truly understand what it means to be gluten-free and were very thorough when taking my order. The atmosphere is wonderful, too, with a roaring fire, low beams and quirky decor. Come here for a lovely treat and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent service from all the team, but especially Freya. She looked after us the whole night and ensured all of our needs were met. Quality server on a busy evening!

Great find. I am not the easiest customer as am Pescatarian, but Lauren was great and gave me various options to amend the fish dishes with meat added in the menu. The food was excellent, along with the service and Marius obviously knows his stuff in the kitchen!

I had a veggie dish which was very nice and tasty, although a bit small. Our waiter was a young man who was lovely and really looked after us. It was £33 a head with no starter and a coffee and small desert and no alcohol so a bit pricey, nice for a celebration. We went in Oct so it was a bit dark but I can imagine in the summer it's gorgeous.

Beautiful cozy setting with a coal fire. Staff are friendly and polite. They always apologise if they're unable to serve us straight away ..nice menu offering a wide range of dishes. I had monkfish today and it was a bit chewy but I guess monkfish can be a bit chewy at times but I still enjoyed it..my husband s fish and chips was really good. Overall a lovely cozy experience.. Nice place to finish off the work week 😊also digs allowed in Bar area and thry have free dog treats 🐶

Enjoyed our meal - service was quick and attentive and the food good. We had lamb rump & sea bass fillets - enjoyed them both but they are not on the list of dishes to recommend

We visited Brampton Mill for lunch on Monday. We were late for our original booking as taxi was late. Our table was given to someone else (okay, fair enough) but the hostess didn’t make us feel welcomed in any way. We ordered cheese fondue as a starter and it was served with three pieces of bread which was not fresh (I can smell it would go mouldy soon). It was two of us so we asked for more bread as we had some cheese left. We got one extra piece for two people 😂so overall the service was poor. I also ordered prawn linguine. The description was yummy, unfortunately the actual meal was very plain - couldn’t taste any sauce. My partner didn’t like fish & chips either - potatoes were burned and fish was tasteless. So we were not impressed by the food, or service - will not be coming back.

Very delicious food that is value for money but not cheap. You get what you pay for and this definitely a place that prides itself on service and great cuisine.

We had a Christmas party here a couple of years ago, it was nice, food was good and the room we were given was good and staff were really great. The reason I put 4 stars is, there were issues with allergens, we called months in advance to let them know that we had one person allergic to milk and soy who couldn't eat any of the desserts on the Xmas menu. I was told the chef would cook her something different on the night. Then on the night we were told that we hadn't ordered a dessert for someone so I was like "yes, I told you this, she can't eat any of them she has allergies, i told you this on the phone, you have a list of her allergies" then they wanted to know who I spoke to because nobody had put the note in, so make sure you get the name of the person you're speaking to if you for warn them of allergies. They managed to resolve it though and made her something from the normal menu, the girl was really good about it and I guess she gets this a lot, but she shouldn't have to worry about it at her Xmas party. wouldn't do a Christmas party there again if I was still with my coworkers who had allergies. Other than that, it was really good, staff were great, room was great and the food was good.

Been a while since I've been, took parents for a meal and the food was excellent. Service was brilliant and love the setting. Thankyou for a fab evening

As our new local pub, we visited Brampton Mill for a Sunday roast with friends. The food was good however, the service was extremely poor. The staff were not attentive and instead standing round talking, and we had to ask to place our drinks order and was waiting a long time for food to come out. Plates were not cleared in between courses. Overall very poor service and would not be happy to return as it is now, especially for the price you pay.

Had a wonderful meal last Friday night at Brampton Mill. We were staying in the touring caravan site The Willows, which was close by and within walking distance. We had our 2 cocker spaniels with us and sat in the High Table area, where they were most welcome. Great service, great food and a super atmosphere. Will definitely be back when we stay at the caravan site again.

Charlie's food was amazing!! Freya and Caitilin were lovely. I couldn't recommend this place more!

Found this gem of a place on our way back to the Midlands from Stansted Airport. Great atmosphere, quaint and rustic. Compliments to the chef 'Charlie', our food was delicious. Our servers, Caitlin and Freya were fabulous and provided a great service. Definitely would revisit if in the area again. Thank you.

Always great food and great service. Fantastic location with great outdoor seating. The dirty burger is always a favourite. Seafood pasta was on point.

The old mill atmosphere was good however, the car park had no spaces mainly due to several contractors’ vans in customer spaces. Long wait to be attended when we arrived and slow service once seated. 3 meals ordered - Sea Bass, Rib eye steak and fillet. Sea Bass was reported as good, Fillet cooked to medium rare as ordered but lack of flavour. Rib eye was ordered as medium rare and came well done. Expensive for a basic meal.

We’ve loved the Brampton Mill for many years but slowly watched it deteriorate of recent months, we’ve noticed the lady that appeared to run the place hasn’t been seen for some time & now all of the staff are unrecognisable, such a shame, the food is rough, the service is slow, tables are left uncleared, we’ve had 3 or 4 visits praying it’s not true, clinging on to memories past that they’re just having an off day but today was confirmation the Brampton Mill is dead!

Our go to place for food and drinks! Service couldn’t be better and atmosphere is amazing. Recommend for anyone wanting a lovely evening or daytime trip!

Both had lunchtime 3 courses. My friend asked for her soup to be served in a mug & I asked for brown bread with my chicken burger instead of a bun. Staff so friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble. Finished off with hot chocolate & mini desserts 😋

We enjoyed our meal today, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and would definitely recommend.

Sorry to say we were very disappointed with our visit to Brampton Hill. We were shown to our table and most of the side plates were dirty ! The table was sticky. When we said to the waitress she said they came out of the dish washer like that! The plates had dirt on them. The food wasn't great. One had the duck and noodles, the meat was fatty and couldn't be cut with a knife. The beef wasn't great either ! The Yorkshire pudding was like trying to eat cardboard. The fish was lovely but 3 tiny potatoes and a teaspoon of spinach, left one feeling hungry. Beer was all but £6 pint. Whole experience was over priced !

Booking was easy and service from the start was second to none. Various roast options, the duo of beef was fantastic.. I ordered extra veg as prefer the non roasted. Would highly recommend

Love, love, love!! From the food to the service, we really loved our experience at The Brampton Mill. We came on a Sunday evening and opted for the beef Sunday roasts and a dirty burger…. Amazing! The roast meat was perfectly cooked, and the dirty burger was exactly what it should be, tasty and satisfying. We also went for a chocolate brownie and chocolate bomb for dessert, and omg the bomb especially was spectacular! The berries inside were refreshing and a nice touch to the presentation. The service was attentive and extremely friendly. And the atmosphere inside the venue was vibrant yet not too loud. We would love to come back again for lunch to experience the outdoor setting which I’m sure would be amazing. Our only ‘negative’ would be there isn’t a lot of car parking out the back. We waited a little bit until someone vacated, so not a huge issue, but just something to be conscious of, allow a bit more time in case you need to wait for a spot.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth, welcome and friendliness. Our dog was also hugely welcomed and we love the treat of dog biscuits and water by the door. Very thoughtful. Every single staff member we met was kind, super friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed the food And the icing on the cake was a special extra helping of our dessert. Shout out to the lovely Hattie, Ryan and Luka (thanks for the phone loan Luka - wink, wink!!! Thanks also to all the other staff names we didn’t get but who also make up this superb team. Thank you, thank you, Thank you!!!! for an excellent local much needed restaurant.. Hugely appreciated. Will definitely come again and will definitely tell all our friends about this wonderful experience. You guys are simply the best. Much love and gratitude !!👍🏽

Lovely Restaurant, with pleasant staff and reasonably priced menu. Only complaint was the pork belly wasn't seasoned enough but that aside I'd definitely return.

Had a lovely meal in a very relaxed atmosphere. All the staff were lovely especially Lilly, she was so willing to answer all the questions we threw her way. She recommended the Buttermilk Chicken burger and it was delicious.

Sorry this restaurant is not quality we had two roasts today. Both chicken and beef not very good quality and greasy. Roast potatoes black and hard to cut. (Please don't say it's because cooked in meat juice) Burnt!! Yorkshire pudding tough and veg greasy. Food not hot just Luke warm. Toilets scruffy need renovating. Paint pealing of the wall not just a tiny bit. Cob webs every where. Dirty windows. Carpets filthy, paint work needs attention not just a paint brush but a bleach cloth. I know hospitality is struggling but cleanliness costs nothing. It's not cheap and not value for money. Sorry but my honest opinion. Young kids serving were friendly and helpful.

From the first moment we stepped through the door, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our meal was delicious and we enjoyed it. Callum and naomi were very tentative and friendly, which enhanced our experience. I would highly recommend and we will be returning.

Waited more than 20 minutes for anyone to come and ask what we wanted to eat or drink. No-one came so we left!

Pleasant ambience in nicely decorated riverside premises. Sensible and grown-up staff who knew their job. Exceptionally well prepared food. Perhaps the best meal I have eaten in this category for years. Well done all concerned.

Lovely setting, beautiful pub and restaurant. Extremely wobbly table in the restaurant. Waited a good ten minutes when we arrived to be taken to our table which we had booked. Drinks arrived with the main. Food over priced not the quality expected, belly pork was inedible, rotisserie chicken was so dry it was hard. Panzanella salad was lovely. Chocolate creme brulee had no chocolate and was tiny. Won't return

Great location but unfortunately the food is overpriced & not even up to pub grub quality. Majority of staff are very good although a few with long faces when I said hello and got no response. Waited a good while in the reception area to be seated & again waiting for drinks at the table. So long that the food turned up the same time as the drinks. Not good. Was our first time here and I’m happy to say it was the last.

We held a special birthday celebration lunch for our father’s 90th birthday at Brampton Mill this weekend. The service was incredible, the staff very attentive and friendly, there were 38 of us in total. Everyone commented on how great the food was, it was tasty, hot and a reasonable price. We all had a wonderful afternoon and would highly recommend Brampton Mill for a special occasion.

The Brampton Mill has a good range of food and drink and has a good atmosphere. The service is also good. It's one of our go-to restaurants when we're looking to eat out.

Food was awful... Steak pie had a concrete base filled with gristle n gravy, chicken burger was corner shop cheap and portions wouldn't satisfy a mouse. Felt so sorry for my son who treated us for my Birthday. He recommended it as he and girlfriend had a valentines meal and enjoyed it...

Took my team out for dinner. Was heaving on a Monday night. But was a sunny July evening. Nice venue. AccessAble guide is good. Food was well presented. Good quality. Tasty. Warm. Generous but right size portions. Starters and puddings nice. Good range but not huge.

Not recommending that place at all. The food was not good at all. Chicken was dry because it was simply reheated(white sauce and watercress came hot). Salad came with some of the ingredients missing and not good taste at all
