Amazing as always . Staff are great and very attentive and always lovely. Food is amazing and we love coming here

Booked 8’adults for my wife’s birthday dinner. All very nice and would recommend. The only thing I thought was terribly mean was after they brought my wife’s birthday cake I asked for some cream and they charged me £5.15. Overall we had spent close to £500 in total on food, drinks and tip. That was petty.

Staff was friendly and good position of food. Personally prefer beef pink.

Food was excellent. Fish and chips was a large portion and nice and hot. They do a gluten free option. Salmon and cauliflower rice was delicious. The staff were very helpful and all the staff in the pub were friendly. I went on a Tuesday lunchtime and it was busy so don’t forget to book.

Enjoyed a lovely impromptu meal here. Staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Loved the Steak & Ale Pie with mash and fresh veggies. Burger was yummy and the desserts amazing (love the traditional choices like apple crumble, banana split, fruit salad and eton mess). Will definitely visit again when in Brentwood. Would highly recommend

this is the second time recently that I have visited The Bull and I have found value for money it to be really really good. The Bull Burger is so good and both times the service has been really good. We would return and do feel that other restaurants recently have charged way too much for dinner but The Bull has been really good value with good presentation. Thank you.

The service was really slow - it took 1 hour 26 mins to get our mains and only after I chased. The eggs (yolk) in ham and eggs was hard and the chicken in hunters chicken was small and dry

Fantastic pub with the most amazing staff! The food is amazing and since I have Celiac disease this is my favourite restaurant in Brentwood, almost the whole menu is Gluten free and they do understand the importance of cross contamination. Can highly recommend everything on the menu!

Sometimes I find Sunday Roasts disappointing when I go out , however I had the Trio of Meats and the quality of produce along with a good size dinner made me very happy. Would defiantly recommend , service was good and well looked after. the place as a great feel to it.

We all ordered different main courses and everyone was more than happy with their choice.

Not as good as usual. Service was lacking and we had to keep asking for things, instead of being asked. Not once were we asked how any of our meals were. This is not the usual standard that I have experienced here before. Meals were good but I noticed that the prices seem to have risen somewhat. £24 for pie and chips? In a pub?

We had a lovely Sunday lunch and we had great service. Staff were friendly. We shared a starter which was curry mayo chicken strips in a poppadom delicious. Lamb roast was served hot and tasty. Couldn't manage a dessert too full.

Such a lovely warm atmosphere. Staff were friendly And attentive. Cannot fault any of the food. One son is vegetarian and he had a wide selection to choose from. This was our first visit but won’t be our last Highly recommend and you will not leave disappointed or hungry as the portions were huge

We received superb service from Soph and Cosmin. The food was tasty and plentiful, very good. Clean and cosy restaurant. It was given a 5 star health inspection while we were there.

As usual the food was first class and the service was great. The cost of our meal was very reasonable considering we had a bottle of wine plus desert. My go to place where I can guarantee a splendid meal.

Quite a regular here as the food is very good. The staff are very nice and friendly at this lovely little family run pub. The food is always cooked fresh to order and very nice. We ate off the festive menu and it was simply divine!

I am a Coeliac, so having a range of gluten free options is great for me. We had curried chicken in a poppadum basket and salt and pepper squid for starters. These were both gf, so we shared them. For mains we had the Bull burger (not gf) and the Cajun chicken burger with a gf bun. They even had some good gf options for dessert - sticky toffee pudding, with banana ice cream, for me, and a banana split for my husband. Was really quite full and could have skipped dessert, but how could I, when I never usually get the chance?!! Food was excellent, and were the staff

We had a lovely lunch at The Bull yesterday. The food was lovely and our waitress was fantastic. Traffic was exceptionally heavy outside as there had been an accident so our lift was very delayed. This was not a problem at all. The staff gave us a comfortable table and we had a lovely cup of tea whilst we waited. Would thoroughly recommend for either lunch or dinner. You definitely won’t regret it.

We usually meet some friends there for Sunday Lunch as a halway point between Ashford and ourselves who live in Milton Keynes. As usual food and service 5 star.. What was surpassed this time my wife left her phone there and we did not realise until we were home. Phoned the Bull and spoke to Amanda who located it. I was going to go back to collect it but Amanda said she would post it special deliver back to us on Monday.. I arrived at 0930 on Tuesday allong with the C Cards my wife keeps with her phone.. Amanda went the extra mile and we fully appriciated her help. So on this occation it must be a 6 Star review

Would definitely recommend eating at The Bull, it was slightly too noisy for us, it was a busy Saturday afternoon with a large group next to us which made it difficult for our table of 6 to chat to each other. Food and service excellent.

Having been to The Bull 8-9 times now, the food is always outstanding. Could order anything on the menu with confidence that I will love it, and this is without mentioning the service. Have been served by Amanda and Cosmin on multiple occasions now and their constant energy is so refreshing and always adds to the experience. This is the kind of place that you leave, counting down the days until your next visit. Cant wait to come back!

Came in with work friends for a meal, was given an excellent specials menu and had the chicken supreme. Food was amazing and so was the service. Hannah made sure we had drinks to order, she was great. Would recommend this pub and will definitely be returning!!

Caesar salad with soggy bacon, old crumbled inedible Parmesan & thick gloppy out of a bottle disgusting dressing. Overpriced mediocre food, plus awful service won’t be returning.

The food was very good and would make you comeback again, however, the prices are in certain items a little to pricey and expensive, which would put me off.

Been a few times to the Bull and it's was a poor experience this time. Waited about 15 minutes to order a drink at the table, the main courses were delivered to the table over about 10 minutes so some of us were waiting others eating. We had to ask for cutlery to eat the meal as well. Desserts was fine apart from having to ask for cutlery for the cheese board, lastly never got the coffee ordered so gave up and paid the bill. Hopefully will be back to its best if we revisit again

Our go to place for family and friends Sunday lunch. Food is great, always a good atmosphere and service spot on. Thanks to Hannah and Amanda for looking after us on this visit, allowing us to bring our own cake, doing the whole "Happy Birthday" thing and Dad's baby Guinness shot!

Roast dinner to die for. You won’t leave hungry and staff are really friendly. Only complaint was that it was a little warm in the restaurant.

Food was nicex I had the gnocchi which I enjoyed, however the girl in front of house duty was very un-enthusiatic and looked like she really didn’t want to be there. The first person your customers interact with should be welcoming and smiley and unfortunately this girl was not. She had long blondish hair which was half up and half down and curly. It started the meal off on a dampener which was a shame.

I recently returned to The Bull, and once again, it did not disappoint! We keep coming back because we love it so much—never had any faults. The staff are always friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome every time. The food is consistently amazing, and we can't get enough of it. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with excellent service, give The Bull a try. You won’t regret it!

Standard of food was very poor. The pork belly bites were very fatty. The trio of meats came out and was just beef. The roast potatoes were so dry as was the stuffing. Just in general a poor meal which was disappointing

We arrived for drinks at 7.30pm table booked for 8pm. We were told there was a singer on and that she was really good so we switched tables from the restaurant to the bar area to see this. The singer did not turn up, no explanation We had to go and ask for menus and were eating our mains at 8.45pm and a member of staff asked if we wanted coffee as the machine was being switched off! At 9.15pm there were more staff than customers! We were home by 9.30pm, not good at all Food was not bad at all, but £6.20 for a 0% Guiness is very greedy indeed

Stopped in our motorhome unexpectedly at 20.30 in much need of dinner and refreshment. Another pub stopover had let us down and as we approached the motorway luckily detoured through Brentwood The landlord not only got a table ready for us as kitchen was due to close but also happily said we could park in the car park overnight. Would thoroughly recommend the Bull for food, location, service, and friendliness. Will definitely return.

I had an amazing time at The Bull Pub! A big thank you to Megan for the warm and friendly service. The Korean wings were absolutely delicious, and the chicken pie and pork belly were spot on. We had a fantastic meal, and we’ll definitely be back again. Thanks once more!

We regularly use The Bull for lunch or dinner and are always satisfied and happy with both service and food. Yesterday's experience was a shock to say the least. I can only suspect a change in chef. My starter of leek and potato soup was over salted and I strongly suspect was not home made. It was bright green in colour and resembled a pea soup, although nothing could be tasted beyond the salt. Cauliflower wings equally over salted and not due purely to the use of soy which we were told was the reason for it. To be fair an exchange was offered and 50% of each starter subtracted from our bill. Main courses, thin sauces, again over salted and uninspiring. Cabbage almost raw, gnocchi tasteless. The only thing I enjoyed was the salmon fillet which was cooked well and enjoyable. The whole experience was not good, service was slow and we were all disappointed. We'll try again in a few months time when hopefully things will have reverted to normal

Disappointing roast, undercooked veg, three potato’s undercooked, bland and dried out cauliflower cheese! Wouldn’t waste your money!

This visit was made the best by the faultless food and our waitress Ash Nothing was too much trouble. One of the best waitresses i have had. Big family table but the service/food was brilliant

Food is good, but four people in the dining room, four waitresses but scant detail applied to service. It might have been quiet, but that is no excuse to stand and gaggle and forget your clients

When we arrived we were sort of sent through to the main restaurant no one greeted us there and when we did speak do someone they told us to go and sit at the end table over there - they didn’t even take us we just hoped we sat at the right one! The waitress came over with menus and told us that a couple of items weren’t available so we ordered something else and noticed that one of the items arrived at a couple of tables that were seated after us. The food was ok, however a different waitress came over when I was mid mouthful to ask if she could clear the table! Overall not a great experience some of the staff were miserable looking and couldn’t be bothered and it’s very expensive for just a pub meal. The menu hasn’t changed in ages either so it’s the same old thing. We booked last minute and used to go a lot but won’t be going back there any time soon unfortunately.

Had a lovely birthday lunch on Sunday. Service was great and the food was excellent. Good for family as they have a play area for the kids too.

Sadly I was disappointed with my experience at the bull. The food, especially the Korean cauliflower was over seasoned with salt, so it wasn't a pleasent experience. Had to go up to order and the staff behind the bar were a bit rude. I also found that some of the young staff were innappropriately dressed with very short shorts. Such a shame as I really enjoyed my last visit to the pub last year. I will try this place again to give it another go, but hope the customer service and seasoning on food improves.

Amazing choices for a Coeliac! I had a gluten free pie, which I’ve not had for years. Also, calamari, which is unheard of for gluten intolerant individuals. The food was so good, service was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back

Food was lovely with the salmon the sauce could have been thicker a bit runny. Burgers great, fish was big! with the fish and chips pie of day really nice. All starters great! Squid cooked really well not tough, pork bites juicy and chicken tenders in curry sauce really nice as well. Only thing was if your sitting on a booth seat the table was very low so made your back ache. Wasn’t comfortable had to swap with daughter as she is tall and wasn’t comfortable either. She sat on a chair and made a total difference. Son also had a problem with his legs nearly touching top of table underneath. May be look into getting higher tables so not having to lean down to eat meal. Or take away the booth bit and replace with chairs.

Lovely birthday meet up with my friend. We were welcomed and shown to our seats. The staff were attentive and efficient and the meal was lovely. A very nice experience

Waited over 10 minutes to be seated as staff pretended they could not see us. Finally told to site at a table and waitress said she would come back over to give us the menus. Another 15 minutes passed and waitress had still not returned with the menus and all staff continued the to ignore us so we walked out. Very disappointing and appalling service. We then ended up going to The Black Horse instead where the service was at exceptional, and the lovely food too.

Came here mid week with the girls for dinner and a catch up when the Euros was on. The day before they phoned me and asked if I wanted to watch the football because it wasn't showing in the main restaurant and therefore do I still need my table. I thought that was nice of them to ask. We wanted the restaurant and no footie so all good with us. The food was lovely and service was good and we weren't rushed either. The football was on in the bar and garden but it wasn't loud or a distraction. I'll come back again.

Fantastic little place. There was 12 of us and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were so lovely. And the food was amazing! Cooked beautifully, steaming hot and great portions. Drinks are decent prices too. And the locals in there were so friendly.

Service not so great! Slow, forgetful and all around flakey! Too many children running around tables they they aren’t even apart of - not the staff or pubs fault

It was like a kids playground. Kids literally running about everywhere, shouting and throwing stones etc. would never eat there again due to that alone.

I’m glad the owner/manager recommended the pie. Was delish. Very clean establishment.
