The best restaurants in East of England

We had a very enjoyable experience at Leigh Bistro. I had the chicken supreme, which was delicious and the skin was cooked to perfection. My friends had the ribeye steak and they both lapped it up with the golden peppercorn sauce. A splash of primitivo wine certainly had the desired effects. Shall visit again thank you

Visiting family near Huntingdon we went to the Mermaid Inn at Ellington yesterday, my sister in law had been before & recommended it. We were lucky to book a table, it's a lovely quaint old inn in a gorgeous village with some thatched cottages, with several small characterful rooms & a few steps. The staff were all very friendly & efficient. 3 of us had the 3 meat roast & I had the roast pork with crackling, the meat was lovely except my husband would rather have had chicken slices than a drumstick with his beef & pork. The home made Yorkshire puddings were excellent, the roast potatoes were garlicky & delicious, there were plenty of vegetables in the tureens to share & a dish of cauliflower cheese, it was a lovely big portion of roast dinner. We all enjoyed it, the gravy was delicious too. I was too full for pudding but the other 3 really enjoyed theirs. Plenty of choice from home made apple crumble & custard to Bakewell tart, chocolate brownie, trifle or cheesecake etc. It was a gorgeous meal in a nice environment & we would definitely return when visiting again, not cheap but quality homemade food & worth it.

Friendly local with good quality food at a reasonable price. Portions are generous and filling. They're always happy to make substitutions too.

Lovely place to eat Greek food. We had a pork gyros and moussaka along with a couple of the cakes. There were no highchairs which might of been an issue for some young toddlers but our 2 year old sat on our laps. The area is quite small but cosy so it isn't a suprise. We enjoyed our food, friendly staff and nice view into bury town centre watching the people bustling around the shops. Would recommend!

I don't know what took me so long to try this delightful cafe. I'd heard great things & it really was good. Food was fresh, presented wonderfully & was delicious. Coffee was amazing too. I'll definitely be back!

Lovely interiors, good meal selection on the menu. Food was alright, nothing special. Tea was served the most strangest way I have ever seen. Service was passive-aggressive, All in all, was alright but I don't see a reason to be back.

Always decent food from them ,never get a problem, I do like their s/sour chicken on chips and the bbq one ,they do others but not into ones with chilli but love those two ,staff always polite and chatty

If you want the REAL pub experience come here. Richard and his team know! With craft beers, real ales and something on the guest pump they know how to cater for a discerning crowd. Games, quizzes, entertainment and a very sociable crowd this place hits the mark. Excellent beer garden too! Keep up the good work.

Tried this on the off chance when I was waiting for my vehicle to be serviced and they welcomed me and my two dogs. Lovely atmosphere and great food.

My favourite restaurant in the UK. I love food here. Iskender chiken and chiken/ lamb beyti is a must try here and could not get any better.
