Such great food! Recommend the Prochetta ciabatta! We had to wait in line for about 15 mins on a Sunday, but it was worth it. A little cramped inside and you may have to share the table at times with other customers. Servers were friendly and efficient.

Meat and bread are a perfect combination. If you still have doubts, come here and confirm. We ordered 2 sandwiches: Honey soy chicken and Philly cheese steak. Perfect! Both are absolutely incredible, but there is clearly a winner: Honey soy chicken. A light sandwich, on a crispy and warm bread that served as a bed for a juicy and flavorful chicken. There is no mistaking it and nothing more to say, if you are looking for a good sandwich in a cold winter, this is the right option to warm your hearts and your bellies.

Reliably delicious, plentiful and uncomplicated food, small and foolproof menu with just enough special action to keep us interested but never neglecting their signature dishes. Pleasantly informal setting, very friendly and helpful service, unobtrusive but responsive to questions and needs. It's usually possible to get a table despite it being always well frequented. They've found a winning formula, I hope they never change it.

We took a takeaway. Philly cheese steak sandwich was balanced and so satisfying, we will be back to try the other options soon. The girls taking care of the takeaways in the back are the stars: friendly, quick and extremely helpful ❤️🤗

Very delicious and high quality food. First, you choose the meat or chicken you want to eat, and then you choose whether you want to eat it on bread, on roasted potatoes, or in a bowl with steamed vegetables and salads. The homemade iced tea was very good, it was a nice experience both delicious and unsweetened. I highly recommend

Good food, very tasty and different. However it doesn't allow reservations and it is tightly squashed. Also the menu is a bit confusing between what comes on samdwiches and poutine. Food was lovely and staff very accomodating. A kids menu (half sandwich?) would be really good. Central location is handy.

Bread & Meat were one of the places that I picked for my family to definitely go on our time in Cambridge. I do recommend to wisely go whenever it is quiter as you could be joining in a long queue to get a table. Though you can always have the food as takeaway if you want. There was a charge for service which I was fine with but there wasn't any outstanding services. The place can also get really tight ahen you're eating in. For the food, I got the Porchetta Ciabbata and Dirty Chai since it was cold. The rest of the family got the Pulled Pork Ciabbatta, Honey Soy Chicken Ciabatta and the Philly Cheese Steak Poutine. The food was delicious, especially the Porchetta, the pork was so juicy and succulent, I recommend it the most. It was so good that I got it again for takeaway later in the evening, this place is worth a visit when you're in Cambridge

Got porchetta sandwich takeaway. It was good and a large size. Only shaving off a star because the takeaway orders are done in a dingy corridor where you have to ring a bell, someone comes out to take your order, and you have to wait out in the cold. Not the best experience. #Cambridge

Canadian Style Didn't expect 'Poutine' means meat and chips in gravy at all. We always thought it charges extra because it's a ciabatta sandwich with chips as a side. I should have read the reviews before coming, my bad. The sandwich is okay. At least it's a hot sandwich. But the pork cracking was a bit too hard for teeth. I strongly suggest you biting it really slow, you know, Canadians' way. The Poutine is very salty. The chips became very soggy because of the salty gravy. We failed to finish the dish. Not sure about this Canadian style. But the service was good. Clean environment. Price was reasonable in Cambridge town centre.

I got a takeaway of the beef brisket sandwich and I can’t believe I hadn’t tried it earlier. Absolutely loved the sourdough bread and the meat combination. Highly recommended!

Fabuloso bocadillo de porchetta, uno de los mejores bocadillos alrededor. Está un poco aplastado aquí y no lo describiría como un lugar relajante para comer. Pero es lo que es y la comida es de buena calidad y muy deliciosa

Brillante sandwich - Philly Cheesesteak - que pedimos en el reco del camarero. Chips ok sin ser nada especial y la cerveza era perfecta. Con todo, lo recomendaría encarecidamente para el sándwich y quiero volver para más pronto

Went for a mini date night and had heard amazing things about Bread & Meat. Honestly amazing food my other half had the honey soy chicken sandwich with a side of poutine and it was all stunning. I chose the philly cheese steak bowl (gluten free as I am coeliac) and it was amazing, highly highly reccomend we will be back at some point!

Realmente disfruté de conseguir mi almuerzo desde aquí. Tengo el filete de queso con jalapeños y fue uno de los mejores bocadillos que tuve durante mucho tiempo! Me lo dieron como una comida para llevar, pero me encantaría sentarme la próxima vez y obtener la experiencia completa!

The food is very nice! I tried the Poutine - Beef Brisket. Delicious, the beef was falling apart. It was just a little too salty, other than that no complaints. The restaurant is located near The Eagle and King’s Parade, so very central. Definitely worth popping in 😊

The porchetta ciabatta tastes fairly nice. Pork was crispy. The portions were quite generous.

Great place for food in Cambridge

Overview: A small restaurant specialising in roast and slow cooked meats served in fresh bread along with a choice of sides and milkshakes. Pros✅: Food was so so so good, I highly recommend anyone visiting Cambridge to come here for lunch. The porchetta ciabatta was delicious and my favourite part was the crackling and salsa verde. The bread is also very fresh and served hot. I highly recommend the poutine - the gravy was the best part. Good value for money. Cons❌: Can get super busy during peak times. We arrived at around 12pm on a weekday and there was a queue of about 7 people ahead of us. We only had to wait for about 10 mins as the place has very quick turnover of customers like a fast service food restaurant. Great place for honest quality grub. Small menu which is good, and top quality pork and chicken. The bowl is a good option for meat and veg to fill u up. Great milkshakes too. Good service too. Will be back.

Very odd and uncomfortable experience with the management. We were a group of four, and upon arrival, we were immediately directed to an uncomfortable table. What made this experience more noticeable was that we were the only customers of color in the restaurant. Shortly after we sat down, a white family of three took the very table that had been denied to us.

I found a tasty and healthy dish, I asked to remove dairy products, no problem. I enjoyed the food, the service and the vibe. Makes me want to return.

Usually there was a queue in front of it every time I saw it, but I was able to sit down after waiting 15 minutes. Very delicious, staff were very nice. I really loved it. I liked the chicken the least but the other options were amazing

Had the weekly special- the Jerk chicken sandwich in ciabatta bread. Can comfortably say it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The size of the sandwich was extremely good value for the price. A must visit!

Great small cafe. The Philly cheesesteak is amazing. My favourite meal to get in all of Cambridge. Milkshakes are large sizes and delicious. Only thing I don’t like is sometimes the laminated menus are a bit greasy.

Let me start this off by saying I absolutely love this place. It’s one of 3 places that I visit religiously the one time a year that I’m in Cambridge. Unfortunately I was left a bit disappointed today. The food still tastes great but the portion size of the meat and crackling (porchetta) was way less than usual, maybe 1/3 less. I definitely didn’t get crackling in every bite like I usually would. The price is now £11 for a sandwich, it was £10 the last time I was here. (July ‘23) I get it, costs go up and prices have to too, but you can’t reduce the portion sizes and increase the price. It’s a shame, this place was the first thing that comes to mind whenever Cambridge is mentioned around me, I recommend it to anyone that comes this way. Maybe I caught them on an off day, we’ll see how they do on my next visit.

Walking by this restaurant and saw a beautiful pork roast with craklins (chichirones) surrounding it and was lured in by the smell and looks. The food was fabulous. We had been in England for a week and the will be my most memorable meal. My wife asked the owner how he achieved the craklin and rather than try and keep.it a secret he went through the lengthy procedure needed to create the meat. This is gem and I hope the people of Cambridge realize how fortunate they are! Truly unique, truly delicious!

Had the panchetta ciabatta with drinks. The bread was crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The pork was also nicely cooked, and I loved the salsa verde. However, there were two very hard slabs of pork skin in the sandwich that I just could not put my teeth into. It should really be left out of the sandwich as it can be a health hazard for some people with weak teeth... The service and atmosphere were warm and welcoming.

A spin off of Meat & Bread in BC, Canada. Delicious sandwiches and they serve poutine, too. Sandwiches from £10.50 and poutine starts at £7. It was delicious. A little warm on the uk summers days, could do with an AC unit. Would definitely recommend. We were a little taken aback by the service charge in a small place with not much service needed as such, but we still had a great time. Whenever we are in Cambridge I try and come by to order a honey soy chicken sandwich with roast veggies on the side, and a poutine if I’m with company. I’ve tried a few of the other sandwiches and they are good too, but honey soy chicken is by far my personal favourite. Try and dine in if you can, as the food can get quite soggy quite quickly when packed to go.

One of the best lunches/sandwiches i’ve had for a long time! The philly cheese steak was unreal and the best poutine i’ve had in the uk! We managed to get a seat but its very small inside so take away might be easier. Staff were lovely. Wasnt cheap but 100% worth it. Homemade lemonade was lovely too! Would visit again

They’re famous for their sandwiches but their sandwiches while delicious, it’s too small and too expensive. Their coleslaw was bland and not worth the price as well.

We stayed 1 week st cambirdge and we came here third times!! Love these sandwiches. I can not decided which is better philly cheese steak or honey soy chicken. Meat one is cooked 14 hours omg!! It is so soft and this sandwihes has great fresh cheese. chicken one has great souce and it is also soft.

We came completely by chance. A very good discovery. The sandwiches are excellent with very good ingredients. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Tried for the first time today after hearing amazing reviews. I had the honey soy chicken with slaw and sriracha mayo. Best sandwich I've had in a long time. Not always huge on bread but this was fluffy and warm in the middle with a crisp crust. Will come back

One of the best ciabatta I have in Cambridge. The combination of topside beef and other ingredients are just perfect! The beef is so tender and rich in flavour. The sourdough ciabatta is also a blast, soft inside with a real crispy crust. The weekly special bbq beef brisket is a little greasy with too much dressing.

Photo doesn’t do justice to how good this was! Lucky to be seated straightaway in a tight table which is fine given the size of the place. Would recommend mixing and matching if visiting with friends to maximise trying everything!

Our favourite is Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. Yummy pulled beef. The bread is crispy and delicious. We enjoy it everytime. Never disappoints you. Highly recommend it. They do trials from time to time in the menu. I would be happy to see more trials on the beef sandwich side.

Local business with delicious food and swift service. Reasonable prices as for Cambridge. We were served by Ines who was very kind and efficient. Her service was seamless. There was no pressure to leave a tip which was nice surprise.

Went it at 11:29 to get take away at the side door. Told to come back in 5 min by a girl with what I assume is a replicated American accent. Politely told the girl is 1 min to half 11 which is when they open and asked if I can pay now and collect whenever is ready. Told to come back in 5 min. I guess not!!! Not on my money. Shame as we were regulars.

Best meal in Cambridge . A bit expensive for this type of fare but the quality is really good and much better than places around that would charge more. The Philly steak with poutine is mouthwatering. Service also fast & pleasant. + for the clean toilet

Really pleasant drop-in after the chapel and right before the lunch rush. They had seating along the window, close enough to watch the queue grow. It's tiny, so eat and don't linger so the next person can enjoy. The porchetta sandwich accompanied by the most unexpected veggies was delicious.
