It's really pricey but a great place to dine out at! Always my number one spot to eat after visiting IMW Duxford.

Second time here and every bit as good as the first. Nothing to fault, food and service excellent. Perfect place for a stop if you are travelling on the A14 in the Huntingdon/Cambridge area.

Went today first time Food was great and tasty.also took 4 cakes home realy good to . All staff were friendly and helpfull Will be going again .

Disappointed not to eat here today; who’d have thought they’d be fully booked - oh well. Probably our one and only chance to try this restaurant.

Missed my drinks, the bread of the burger had a bad smell, not worth the price

First visit and I was very impressed. Helpful service by Saffron, went through the menu with me and helped me choose. Food arrived quickly, was lovely and hot and tasted out of this world. Portions, quality and value were all fantastic. A nice American style restaurant with plenty of parking and seats inside and out. Highly recommend.

Nice little place to stop and have a bite to eat while we were traveling from the Midlands to Great Yarmouth. Staff are friendly and polite. Food is freshly cooked, the burger I had was delicious. Wish I had taken a photo before I ate it .... My son would have been so jealous 😜

Much better to go here than to Boxworth services nearby. Seriously, it's a small detour and you won't regret it. Coffee is excellent. Great food and good portions, fair value. The mayonnaise is terrible though. I've commented in the past about it, on my most recent visit I decided not to mince my words! Helpful friendly staff. American diner theme is a nice touch. No WiFi, only EE paid service (unless you're a BT/EE customer)

Great food, good atmosphere like being back in the US

Group of 9 met for a birthday Sunday lunch. Ideal as travelling from different locations. Couldn't fault the service, food and atmosphere. Know its surroundings aren't very attractive, but would totally recommend this for a lovely experience. The young staff were a credit as well.

Burnt pizza previously, cold food regardless of the portion size it was my dinner. Told to return food for a full refund and recieved a partial refund. Now left with no dinner. Waste of time and money don't bother going. Yes I stuck my fingers up at your chef grinning at me and saw you laughing with him. Sorry for getting a bad service and poor food x2 on collection. Won't bother wasting money there again. Shame as 3years ago food was spot on.

Definitely one of the better American Diners I've been to! Unfortunately some of the surrounding buildings look rough... But don't let those distract you from Herbie's as it couldn't be more opposite! Herbie's has a great menu with a wide variety of foods including burgers, hot dogs, breakfast foods, sandwiches and subs, chicken, and other classic hot dishes like mac & cheese. Servers were great and attentive, and the food tasted amazing and had generous portions. Prices are from £10 - £20, but definitely reasonable. Loads of parking, and the interior is great, comfortable and American-themed. I'd definitely be visiting again when passing.

Superb American style diner. The food is fabulous and because of the range of options there's always something to tickle the fancy. The milkshakes are amazing and the desert options are out of this world. The final bonus is that the staff are so very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended eater.

It's exactly what it says in the name. An American styled diner with American styled food, which is, anything that will make your belly happy and your arteries clogged. Had the full rack of ribs and loved it, we also tried a burger and a corn dog (I've never had it before). The food was delicious, the price was fair and we left super stuffed (which is something I cannot say for a lot of other places I've been to eat in the area, shame on them!). Recommended 100%, will come back to clog my arteries some more on another occasion.

Sadly sometimes less is more and this is the case with the burgers here. Massive amount off bbq sauce that overpowered the whole thing and cold stripes of bacon. The beef patties were tasty if you took them out of the bun. Onion rings were OK but nothing special and the chicken wings, wow the chicken wings made me sad, so fatty and gelatinous that I couldn't finished them and I'm not known for leaving chicken wings. Drinks were good and they serve root beer which is awesome. Tried the hot dog from the kids menu and the sausage was very nicely flavoured. All in all for 3 mains(1 kids) 3 sides and 4 drinks it cost us £70 it's about £21 for a burger and chips with a drink which I think is alot of money for what your getting. Staff were great and friendly and the place was tidy so no complaints there. Just chicken wings and burgers that let it down for me. Only the second time of ever going there, the first was shortly after it opened many years ago. Never went back as I was gutted by the food last time. It appears to have got a bit better but I shan't be going back again for a very very long while. Try burger boys in stvives for a great burger at a great price.

The food was lovely, plenty of variety and diverse range of options on the menu, staff were lovely and very accommodating, atmosphere including decor and music really do feel like you’re in the states!

It's such a shame that the new part of the A14 has taken traffic away from here but you only have to come off one junction and back on the next one, it's really like a classic American diner with booths etc, wasn't very busy when we went on a Saturday we both went for the American Brunch which had pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausages patties,scrambled eggs, tata tots, there was plenty on the plate and was really tasty and filling, overall give it 9/10

What impressed me most was that most of the menu could be gluten free. And it was all tasty. I had onion rings!!! The first time in 4 yrs amazing

been to herbies a few times in the past, but came tonight and was abit disappointed The milkshakes were lovely but I ordered a lotus one and a kinder bueno one .. they both tasted just like plain vanilla with hardly any lotus or kinder flavour in them! Which was a shame For £6 each and I ordered a vegan hotdog it come in a different bun to the normal one and it was really dry bread, I asked if I could get the non vegan bun like my partner had and they swapped it Which was much nicer and softer But after paying our bill they had charged us £2 for the bun I stated the other one was really dry so why did we have to pay and the blonde girl behind the till got really funny about it (she come across quite rude And made it out like I was being fussy and should pay for it but really it was unedible for a £17 hotdog! Anyway for £48 for 2 average hot dogs and 2 milkshakes is way over priced for what it is Nice young lad waitressing tho and gave him a tip :)

A few weeks ago, I visited this restaurant with a group of friends. While the food was excellent, the service fell short, leading me to leave the original review you see below. To my surprise, Paul, the owner, went to great lengths to get in touch with me, understand what went wrong, and make things right. After confirming with his staff that my feedback was accurate, he sincerely apologised and offered a complimentary meal for my friends and me. We returned yesterday, and Paul was there to greet us and ensure everything went smoothly. Both the food and service were outstanding. Paul showed to genuinely care about his customers and his business, something rare these days, and I’m very impressed by his dedication to making things right. I feel it’s only fair to update my review. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming atmosphere, and I’ll definitely return whenever I'm in the area. ---------- Old review: I recently visited this restaurant, and while the food was good, the service was shockingly poor and completely ruined the experience. Great atmosphere, good food and fab service!

Overall it was a pleasant experience, the waiter was polite, friendly and gave us service with a smile. I had the Philly loaded fries with steak, I was a bit disappointed to be honest. There was no cheese sauce, so had to have it as extra. The fries in total were around £16 with all the toppings, very heavily over priced tbh for the quality or lack there of with the food. The milkshakes were great and the overall diner is not bad.

Probably as close to an American diner as you can get in the UK. Owner was lovely and clearly really cares about running a great restaurant - and they are excellent on allergies. Food was great quality, and the milkshakes were to die for (a non-trivial risk given the size of them). Usually being located next to a giant motorway would be a negative, but in this case it complements the brief perfectly - felt exactly like being in most restaurants in the USA… They have lots of American brands on the drinks menus, which the American and Canadian in the party assured me were genuinely things you would find across the pond. Portions sizes were American, so be prepared to roll out of the door - assuming you still fit through it.

Meals are great though be warned, they are pretty big. We shared one and were full. Coffee also a generous size. Cherry milkshake was great.

This is an authentic American Diner experience! I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious. Definitely go for the sweet potato fries! ~an American Tourist~

Nice decor with a good team giving off friendly vibes! Food is served in generous portions and we had to doggy bag leftovers. Pancakes, waffles,root beer etc. Recommended when you need your stereotyped USA fix. Just make sure you plan to burn off those thousands of calories!

Can’t rate this place enough!! I’d give a 100 star rating if there was one!! Always stop here on a long journey and happy to detour to eat here. Food is amazing and the shakes are out of this world. Never had a bad meal. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. A true hidden gem and so authentic. Can’t wait for another long car journey so I can stop again.

Super fun independent diner, loads of options on the menu, a vast array of American soda imports and massive tasty desserts (bricks!!). Friendly staff and everything is spotless. Now with added pinball machine and updated playlist (that is still 100% on point for this diner's vibe)! Note that the A14 roadwork improvements have made leaving the area a MUCH less terrifying ordeal as well compared to the early days of Herbie's opening, so be assured visiting is really easy nowadays too. You may need your sat-nav to direct you to Herbies, though, due to the roadwork improvements, as there is nothing sadder than trundling down the A14 and realising you are on the main part of it but now cannot get into Herbie's due to the new sliproad access. Plan ahead, and go and visit Herbie's!

As me loving American atmosphere diners, this spot was just for me. Great American look a like diner in UK. Inside looked fabulous, not to much not to little. Food was great, Had some delicious Love Me Tenders, they were tender and super crispy. Chips were spot on. Also had a Cheesy Nachos, all the dips were so fresh. But what blew me away after first sip, is the actual Milkshakes, the feeling took me back to my childhood. Services was great, got greeted and seated with no problem, Staff friendly. Wasn't to busy. So plenty of apace. Will be coming if passing by next time.

Great food. Best we've had in a long time , Favourite used to be Byrons in Cambridge, but they are now too pricey, Herbies is great value for money, and service was fast and friendly. Milkshakes are fantastic, as was the Chilli on Fries and onion rings .

The kids love Herbies, it is a popular birthday treat venue amongst their classmates. Our service was amazing and the food was great (it’s US diner style so not a lot of fresh veg options but we weren’t expecting any)

My first visit to Herbies American Diner. Atmosphere was briliant felt like i was in a classic diner like you see in the movies. Music and theming all on point. There appears to be a new breakfast menu, which now includes a free coffee with 4 of the set breakfast options. Ordered the Hollywood set, which was all cooked to perfection. The coffee used is of high quality and full of flavour. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I will be back to try some of the main meals and one of the milkshakes from the extensive list of flavours available. Absolute Gem of a Diner. Do not just drive past. It really is worth the stop.

Not exactly a great experience. Not really that bothered about the fact that Herbie's couldn't cater for us, moreso the way the owner (I presume) went about turning us down. Really disappointing. We turned up on mass, and had no expectation to be served (at all) but instead of being politely turned down, we were rudely dismissed. Ultimately, Herbie's couldn't cater for a total of 6 people eating and 10 milkshake takeouts. A real shame as I support local as much as I can, we went across the road, unfortunately as suggested by the owner, to the services and spent our money with a big corporate chain in the end. A very disappointing experience that could have been handled alot better with a small amount of customer service training. I cannot imagine the ramifications I spoke to prospective clients the way the owner did to me in my line of work. I will never return, and despite what the owner might respond to this, I would take your money elsewhere.

Nice place with good service. Inside is made with all American restaurant theme. However my steak was cold 🫤. We order combo meal and the portion was huge, we wasn’t able to finish it so ended up with taking chicken wings home. I think it’s place worth to visit.

Sleepy little diner to visit on your pass through. There were only 4 people (inc us). Service is a bit slow but very friendly, and food is ok. The theme is good and very clean but the toilet smells -horrible-. Not somewhere I would be rushing to go back to, but it is ok. Could be a great place with a few minor improvements.

We visited on Saturday (13th July) and were forewarned when we asked for a table there would be a 30 minute wait for food. We said it was no bother and could see they were rushed off their feet with what seemed to be a leaving do. With there only being 2 girls serving, we were impressed how they took orders in order of who was seated first and food arrived within 25 minutes so quicker than first informed. All was fresh and piping hot and lovely as always. So impressed with the service despite how busy they were. Its always nice to be warned of the wait as then you know what you are dealing with beforehand and can then be understanding so well done on ensuring a wait time was given. Thank you for another amazing visit!

I have been wanting to find an American diner near/in Cambridge for the longest time and saw this one on Facebook and I was AMAZED! Right from the start the service was great, we had everything explained and they were very welcoming. The food was so good and there were so many options and add ons! I am vegetarian and I was shocked with the amount of vegan/vegi options there were, you can choose any of the burgers on the menu and just change out the meat for a vegi burger! The milkshakes and desserts were also just as good and again so many options. There is a range of waffles, pancakes and sundaes to choose from with different toppings. This place is a hidden gem and is definitely worth the visit!

Came here after parkrun tourism en route to Coventry. Looks a bit rough and ready from the outside but so much nicer inside and better than a service station! 3 pancake stack and a viva Las Vegas breakfast - both very happy with ur picks. Drinks were nice. Sadly we didn’t have room for a milkshake although the menu was tempting!!!! Service was good too. Definitely recommend this place.

Exceptional US grill type food , server in a quirky litlle building with the correct decor to match , substantial portions to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites and OMG THE RIBS! A very Happy Birthday 2 course meal for two with alcohic beverage for under £80

Just had the holy cow "HOLY COW" it def lives up to its name. This has to be prob up there as one of the best burgers. The waffle was really good also but no photo as I demolished before I remembered lol

Love this place...been three time (which is quite remarkable, living 180 miles away). Just burgers let down last time as not 'home' made. Would rather pay the extra couple quid for quality ingredients, the food is great value as it is!

Impromptu stop on the way home from Stansted to the Midlands - so glad we stopped here! Food was great, service was super friendly and quick. They even gave us a to-go box (and cup for the milkshake I couldn't finish!). Definitely a staple stop for us when travelling to that airport in future!

Much better quality than the competition (e.g. OK Diner) for the same price. Friendly attentive staff brought us genuinely delicious burgers with all the trimmings. We were especially pleased with the vegan options - something that's not always a priority for a burger joint!

We tried Herbie's as we were looking for something different for lunch, and the kids liked the sound of it. I must say we were not disappointed- nicely themed with lots of American diner touches, a wide range of American food and drink (including sodas I had not expected outside the US), and generous portions- I could not manage dessert. Inside was very clean and service was fast (although there was a slight delay to pay as the place filled up). Parking was easy with a shared large carpark with the travel lodge (although watch out for some large potholes). Getting there is slightly tricky as the road/interchange around there is quite complex and the turning is quite sharp- I suggest taking a look at a map before you go. We will defintely go again.

Visited for my brothers birthday, the service was fantastic! Burgers were good, buffalo wings weren’t spicy at all. The salt beef bagel was terrible. The bottom part of the bagel was so soggy and wet it stuck to the plate and was inedible. Very little salt beef, and overall tasteless. The corn dogs were delicious though!

Paul and his team have made a fabulous effort recreating an authentic american diner on the edge of the A14 near Cambridge. The menu reflects much of the choices you would expect to see if your pulled into a East coast - Dennys, IHOP or similar right off the Highway 95! Our waitress was very attentive and the decor/atmosphere was as great as the Burgers!

A lovely place to chill out and grab some great food. I’ve seen a few people comment about the price, but honestly the food portions are brilliant and I think the price is warranted. You’re not going to leave here hungry. Milkshakes are spot on! 5*

Perfect stop to get away for a bit

Amazing little place having passed this diner many times I decided to take thw wife to lunch what can I say great people great food and amazing milkshakes pricing a little steep but overall it was worth it for the experience but in todays climate it could be cheaper being a chef inget the expensive industry we're in but still feel it could've been cheaper but overall 5 stars
