Very tasty sausage sandwich and cycling group friendly.

The breakfast was not worth £12, one little chipolata sausage and half a rashers of bacon no bread included, the rest of the plate was made up of beans, one tomato and scrambled egg

Great little café. Stopped off after motorbike ride out today around area. Great breakfast and owner doing winter special £10 any breakfast from menu plus tea or coffee. Monday Tuesday Wednesdays and Thursdays . Will definitely be back and including it in all future rides

The best place for rest and food and coffee in the area!

When you're told you're going to get the best burger of your life here, believe it. The amount of effort and care that has gone into each meal prepared is outstanding.

Stopped here for coffee. Great location even in the rain. Comfortable seating on the sofa. Polite and friendly service. Although we only had drinks the menu looked great. Next visit we'll eat there

We really enjoyed our visit to this sweet little cafe on our way to visit Hinxton Mill. Lovely grub and very friendly service. All our family individual food preferences were catered for, and the coffee was great. We'll come back for brunch and a local walk next time.

Myself and my dad visited here today, while my dog was having a groom at collar and comb, we both had a bacon and sausage sandwich and a couple of cappuccino's. The sandwich was fantastic and the cappuccino was fabulous (I'm very fussy with my coffees). We will definitely visit again, I highly recommend. Very very friendly owner, a lovely atmosphere and location.

Whist the pup was getting groomed at Collar and Comb I popped into the cafe. Had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Deniz, lovely owner and great host. Thoroughly enjoyed the cake and friendly chat. I can honestly say this is one of the nicest establishments I have been to. I shall definitely be back 🤩

I’m sure the food is lovely but stop serving savoury food at 2pm on a Saturday. In response to your response . Visited today , diverted off motorway especially because of good reviews, you were cleaning up and said only cakes and drinks available because you were closing at 3. Sad that you cannot take criticism. I’m sure all the good reviews are honest. Just disappointed cafe stops serving anything but cakes at 2pm.

Response to Louise Jones - It was pretty sad that the shop was closed but hey, that’s not an excuse to say all that you said. I am also a loyal customer. I often checked to see if they were opened. I had to understand they are only two workers at the shop and they needed a break from work. Their service and food are great and that doesn’t mean they don’t need money. Holidays are equally important just as you also take leave at your work place. Nice food, great reception, and atmosphere. Abrahamovic ❤️

Turned up today but Cafe closed from 29th July - 31st August. A ridiculous period of time to close a Cafe business down by a pretty river when the weather is likely to be warm & sunny and customers will want to give them business. Guess they are not interested in Summer trade. Went to another local lovely countryside Cafe.

Sweet little spot by the pond. A calm oasis close to the M11! Very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating staff for a gluten allergy, and delicious food. Very friendly welcome. We will be back again when we are in the area.

Well what a waste of time , I have coeliac disease so need gluten free for medical reasons . I asked what they did gluten free , the response from the guy (assumed owner) was "we don't do it , I had it once and threw it all to the bin " Any crisps , or chocolate ? No nothing .... Not being funny but if you run a cafe a loaf of gf bread in the freezer isn't wasted ..... toast it ! He had nothing gluten free ....... Eggs , gf Ham gf Tomatoes ,gf Potatoes ,gf Onion ,gf Salad ,gf Bacon ,gf Cheese ,gf Jacket potato , omelette, , tuna salad etc ..... Found the guy to be rude and obnoxious, no need for that attitude. A simple sorry we don't do gluten free would have been acceptable and less embarrassing for me .

This is a great little cafe. Good food at reasonable prices. Situated in a beautiful location by a wildlife pond. You can sit in or out and is well worth a visit. You'll be guaranteed to go back.Also used to be cash only but they accept cards now which is great.

Lovely quaint cafe in a beautiful area. The staff were so friendly and food is top quality. The portion sizes were big and good value for money. Recommend the delicous toasties and the mega breakfast which was devine. Amazing place!!!!

Lovely food, great service, and the homemade baklava was to die for!! Lovely hidden gem, especially as there are tables right by the river, in such a gorgeous spot! Lunch for three today, with dessert, including drinks was around £50, but the portions were great, so worth paying slightly more than your average lunch ☀️

Lovely hidden gem just off of A11, well worth the detour. Food was delicious - great tasting burgers and different styles of breakfast and sandwiches available. The baklava was amazing!!! Staff was super friendly, and even though we were informed of a slight delay with food, we didn't wait much. The place is very nice, with a pond and a playground. Great for lunch on a nice day.

Very flexible and friendly chef. 👨🏻‍🍳 Reasonable prices, good portion sizes. I prefer VEGAN food and they were able to make me up an all day breakfast without any animal products. (There were no alternative milks though, so you may like to take your own?). We had the place to ourselves just after noon. Plenty of parking, and a nice minimalist feel to it!

Very friendly family run cafe. Enjoyed the bacon cheese burger and chips. The bacon was thick, and salad fresh. Ask for the baclava, it is authentic and superb.

Stopped here on journey from Lincolnshire to Southend on sea. Well worth the detour. Bacon and cheese toastie was excellent. The amazing husband had an 'Amazing breakfast' that lived up to the name. Slightly more expensive than we are used to in Lincolnshire but about right for prices in Cambridgeshire. Excellent hospitality, highly recommend 👌

Normally have the Mega breakfast but today had the days special Lamb chops, chips and salad, very tasty.

A lovely venue but let down by very high prices and average quality food

Found this treasure by accident some years ago while nearby collecting some parts for my mates classic car. We now stop here every year on our way to Great Yarmouth for our annual lads weekend. I make a point of visiting whenever I'm in the area. Sadly on our trip to Hemsby in September 2023 I forgot it was closed Mondays and Tuesdays so we missed out on our breakfast which was a bad start to the week. Will be coming up again in a week or so hopefully not on a Monday. The food is excellent value for money and can't fault the quality of the food or the service. Can't recommend it enough. I live an hours drive away or I'd be there much more often. On our visits numerous people have attempted to pay by card and have had to go off in search of a cashpoint. It's cash only so come prepared.

We were all bitterly disappointed with the food. It really was quite bad and quite expensive for that matter. The place looks tired and could do with some improvements.

Wonderful place to stop just as M11 turns into A11, cafe does an amazing breakfast, great, quick service in a beautiful location. Dog welcomed. Walk around small lake with play things for young children. Brilliant.

Excellent food and service. Good value, the burgers were very meaty not cheap old greasy ones, food was cooked to order and piping hot. Would definitely recommend you to look for these place. I'll be back again and again.

This is a great little cafe, we have been coming for years and have never been disappointed. Friendly and speedy service - chef always remembers our order. Loads of choices for generous set breakfasts and you can also design your own - excellent coffee and tea too. Cash only, well worth a visit and a lovely outside space when weather is good.

Great views lovely location but terrible breakfast so disappointing. Olympic breakfast was £15 and once you get toast and coffee with that looking at £20 per breakfast!! Considering the standard of ingredients and cooking completely unacceptable. Eggs had been annihilated in pan, if you can't fry an egg and run a cafe you're in deep trouble... Sausages were cheapest sausages money could buy and had been deep fried until all skin had come off and the remaining meat was almost black. Mushrooms and bacon reheated. Paid extra for bread and butter which was laughable, two slices of value bread probably defrosted in microwave. I don't understand how cafes like this can do such terrible job... if you don't care then don't bother

Food was amazing! You can tell everything's fresh and the home made baklava is the best one iv ever had. Breakfast was top tier, the chefs know what there doing 🙌 I NEED to come back!

Really disappointing coffee and choice of snacks. Really is more a cooked breakfast place. Genuine customer. Edited to 2 stars from 3 after silly reply from owner. We had 2 coffees and 2 bacon sarnies at noon on 21 June. Insults do not win customers!

9 of us visited the cafe for a quick lunch on our bike ride to Norfolk. The chef was excellent and managed to serve us all within 20 mins with a selection of delicious toastees, chicken burgers, and fries. Coffee after was fantastic quality.

We were travelling North on the M11 on our way to Blackpool and didn't want to stop at a motorway services. I found this listed on Google maps as it was a short detour from the M11 and looked good. We were not disappointed. Really friendly owners, charming little cafe in amongst a group of independent traders grouping together to offer something different. Food was great and well priced. It's in my favourite places on maps. Recommended

I eat here with my kids and my dog almost every Sunday morning. The staff are lovely, the food great (the Baklava is amazing) and the location is fabulous. During the summer months you can be lucky and see vintage aircraft flying overhead as it’s only a stones throw from Duxford Air Museum. I have often said that if I had lots of money I would build the owners a new building because they work so hard and deserve more. We love coming here.

My friend told me about this place. I was there today and I am very pleased. The portions are big and the food is very tasty. The place is also ideal for a walk after eating. I will definitely visit again.

Excellent little cafe. Disappointed to read such a racially motivated review which said that the owner.... throws the food on the table as is in their culture'....... Very unfair indeed! Dennis, the owner is welcoming attentive and serves fresh, generously portioned dishes. Visited this place many times, and did so today with a work colleague and 2 of our customers with learning disabilities. The ambience and service was, as it usually is.... amazing!

Please pop to riverside and try out the local cafe in the grounds. We’ve visited over many years and decided to make the visit more regular to support local businesses . The grounds are beautifully maintained with a lake and alfresco dining areas. Such a treat to be able to walk there from the neighbouring village where I live. The cafe offers efficient service with choices of all day breakfasts, sandwiches, salads , vegetarian options etc.The big draw for me is the coffee. A good quality bean to cup machine where the cappuccino is just perfect . I believe the couple who run the business have been there for a few years, they deserve to do well as they work so hard .

Amazing food, welcoming host and calming location.

A beautiful setting where the new owner is working hard to make a go to location. We have been to the cafe before and know it is a greasey spoon, where the team throw the food at you to ENJOY! Much due to the team’s cultural background.. however today was beyond a joke. Firstly ordered a hot chocolate 90% foam. When I asked for a little more milk got told it is the foam! They did fill but then so high it was an explosion of foam over the saucer. Ordered food, a full breakfast and beans on toast, didn’t mind waiting for it. My partners arrived about half an hour later, after five minutes of waiting for mine said start, he had finished and mine still had not arrived. I went in and said when I ordered my partners I also ordered mine, he has now finished. How dare I ask where my food was, go back sit down and be quiet, there is funny rude and there is downright rude, this was the latter. Then my beans on toast arrived, asked for ketchup, still waiting. The beans are the cheapest tasteless I have ever experienced, the toast was warmed up bread, I ate a mouthful. I really did not mind paying £6.50 for beans in toast, but I do expect it at the same time as my partners meal, for the beans to have flavour and the toast to be toasted. Would quite like it not thrown at me. That potion cost less than 10p, one hell of a mark up. I am hoping the new Riverside Barns includes a choice of eateries so if you don’t want to be served by a brusque team member and get quality food at a reasonable price you can.

Another great experience from the hard-working duo who run this delightful little eatery. We dined outdoors under a grand old willow, and enjoyed the better-than-average caff standards. Bravo.

Went there for breakfast and the owners were very happy to provide a vegan breakfast, substituting the non-vegan items with vegan bacon and fried veggies.

A most excellent chilled indoor/outdoor space for coffee/food not a massive carpark so get there early and unfortunately as its close to the motorway it's a bit noisy but still worth a visit especially when the sun's out

Beautiful cafe ran by a lovely family. Famous for the full English breakfast. Location is absolutely beautiful and the revamp of Ickleton barns is quite stunning. Ps. Please bring back the chicken, Caesar salad!

Have driven past the sign for this cafe many times but never visited. Decided to give it a go and I'm very glad I did. It's friendly, unpretentious and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I had egg on toast and a decent mug of tea. I'll be back to try the burgers next. Highly recommended.

Found this hidden gem today. Very friendly staff who happily amended parts of our breakfast to suit all. High-quality ingredients with possibly the best bacon I have ever tasted. The coffee is incredible, perfect way to start the day. Prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and how well it was cooked. Highly recommended. Note: Take cash with you to avoid a trip out to the nearest cashpoint.

Loved it! Having travelled by car from Italy, staying over at a Premier Inn the night before, we were looking for somewhere just off the M11 to enjoy breakfast. I hate Service Station food, the noisy acoustics and exorbitant prices. I'm also not keen on the restaurants attached to Premier Inns as the food is all pre-packaged and the staff mostly exhibit an air of malaise. So, I checked Google Maps and the Riverside Cafe popped up. A few minutes from the M11 junction, plenty of free parking and a view of swans on a pond. Our breakfasts were piping hot, nicely cooked, the bacon / sausages tasted great, baked beans that were not stodgy and hash browns that were light & fluffy - certainly not delivered by the 3663 catering lorry! Importantly for my healthy heart, a full English breakfast that isn't dripping in saturated fat and cooking oil. Nice tea too. It's a family business and the chef is a lovely man with an outgoing, warm personality. His wife keeps everything clean and in good order. My wife noticed that they have a 5-star hygiene award. Thank you both so much for the tasty breakfasts and friendly welcome. Keep up the good work and keep Britain going on a full stomach;) Highly recommended for a good, honest meal! Arianne.

No acknowledgment when we walked in even though it was fairly quiet, felt like we were stood there invisible for about 3 minutes, then the lady shouted at us to order immediately, all felt very unwelcoming and rude Plus they only take cash, which screams tax avoidance!

Fantastic food, lovely hospitality. Been coming here for years. Family ran cafe in a fantastic location. They have hearing disability, so you may have to speak up! The food is good price £-££ and great quality they have more than enough parking and facilities to disabled access to the cafe and toilets and a children’s play area. They are CASH ONLY so don’t forget your cash. I have seen them give food on the house before. Very kind and welcoming

On 21st August 2022, four of us rode here on our motorcycles, hoping to get a full English breakfast each, it was about midday, the gates were locked shut and the whole place was very much CLOSED. We did however get a very nice breakfast back up the road a couple of miles...

Traditional cafe with high quality food at great prices. The owners make you feel very welcome and I have been coming regularly now. Has an accessible ramp for wheelchair users. Best cafe I’ve been to. Great scenic location too with pond and river. A must visit.
