Food and service was amazing! We forgot to check if we could take our dog and they were good enough to provide table service in the garden. I would definitely recommend but Dogs are not allowed inside.

We had delicious afternoon tea, lovely & fresh, well worth the ££. Great service & friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

The food was on the whole very good but the response to a complaint about the kids meal (burger patty was in tiny bits, so all fell out when picked up) was poorly managed.

Food was OK, grounds were lovely. Staff were way too attentive, we were asked 3 times if we wanted a drink before our food. We really wanted a relaxed meal but had a lot of staff members come up to our table unfortunately.

Myself, my wife and our 100 guests all want to thank Carl and all the team for making our Wedding Reception amazing. Even Carl (the Owner) stayed up until 01.00am the night before with us in order to get whe venue set up "just right". As always the food was spectacular, the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful even the chef came out to wish us congratulations. No request was too much for Carl even allowing us to have a fun fair in rhe grounds. Our stay in the accommodation was outstanding and the bed was soooo comfortable and the breakfast was just as good as the evening meal. Thank you to all the team!!!

After hearing such good things about The Red House Sunday lunch I thought it was high time I went and checked it out for myself. My partner and I arranged to meet a couple of friends for food and a catch up, not much catching up was done as we were all silent as we made our way through what I can only describe as the best Sunday lunch I have had the pleasure of. I opted for the scotch egg starter and the roast beef main. both cooked to absolute perfection. My partner had the lamb and was equally impressed. for the dessert it was crumble and brownie. All in all super impressed and will be back to sample the standard menu very soon!

Popped in for food and a drink, we opted to sit outside as there is an outside bar and the view of the countryside was stunning. We have eaten here many times and the roast dinner is a must, we’ve yet to find anywhere to beat it. Another favourite is the scotch egg starter. Service was great despite the venue being busy. Prices were reasonable and the quality was great.

Poor service very small choice on the menu. We were kept waiting a very long time for anyone to decide to come over and take our order. Shame it seems to have gone downhill

Extortionate is an understatement. We nipped in for drinks and were greeted by a very miserable barmaid. We ordered 3 x lemonade , 2 x J20, 1 x Malibu and pineapple, 1 x cider & 1 x san Miguel and paid £49.15!!! Now I’m ok with ridiculous prices if you’re greeted with fantastic customer service, but that wasn’t the case! Definitely wouldn’t return! How can those prices be justified?

Held my 60th party at the Red House. Everything was amazing. Setting is beautiful with a marquee and outside bar. Have also eaten there several times and food is lovely. Carl, the owner, is really helpful and kind and the staff also were lovely to my guests. Had 80 people and it was everything I hoped for. Thank you Carl and team.

Went for a team dinner and the Red House was so accommodating. The ambience is beautiful with gorgeous views into the fields and parking is ample! The food is really tasty and quite big portions. I did get the salt and pepper chicken which was smaller than I expected but the chicken and leek pie and the creme brûlée were good portions and tasty too, especially the pie, was craving some good pie and they had it! The staff was very friendly and accepted our preorder and catered to it perfectly without any confusion. I’d definitely want to visit again, will try during the festive season.

Had a lovely dinner at The Red House. We loved that the food was farm to table, cooked to perfection and seasoned well. We had really good service, the ambience and atmosphere was lovely, and the garden out back was absolutely stunning. A real gem, highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We had our wedding reception here. Ourselves and closest family stayed in the rooms. The rooms were beautifuly finished and very clean. Plenty of storage. We had room 3 which had beautiful views of the field and pond. The rooms are set out as a courtyard with a table in the middle whoch was lovely to sit and with the family before the party started. A cooked breakfast was included and everyone commented on how good it was. The wedding reception consisted of the garden and marquee along with the outside bar. Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking for the guests and a separate entrance for the DJ. We chose to have a food van which the red house was happy to accomodate. Carl was very good with communicating along for the whole process and everyone commented on how beautiful and well maintained the property was. Thanks for everything.

Excellent service, yummy food and enhanced atmosphere.

We were here yesterday for a 90th birthday celebration. The room was well set out with space to move around. The buffet was beautifully arranged and there was a varied selection of food, what was impressive, was that as soon as a platter or bowl was empty, another full one was brought in to replace it, the food never ran out. The quality of the food was excellent and tea, coffee and water was available on a serve yourself basis, personally I loved the choice of teas. The toilets were very clean and well equipped and we found access from the car park to be level and easy. We would certainly return and highly recomment The Red House and would travel up from South Essex to visit again. M25, M11, A603 and take the turn to Wimpole Hall. The pub is along the road in the left before the village. Thank you to all the staff and owners, you all worked so hard to give us a fantastic afternoon.

What a find !! We had a fantastic Sunday dinner. The food was really very good - we had the lamb and chicken dishes and they wre both tasty, hot and filling. The service was excellent. All the staff were friendly, polite,welcoming and attentive at all times. Highly recommended and we will certainly be back - just go !! You'll be glad you did !!

Stopped off here for lunch when travelling. Received a very warm welcome and sat near the log burner which was lovely on a cold day. The menu was varied and the fish & chips was very good. The place was renovated to a high standard and was very pleasant. Easy to park in the car park. Could possibly be a squeeze at busy times. I would recommend for couples or families and will call again if passing. Thank you!

We had the 3 course festive menu last night, and although the food was excellent, the service was incredibly disappointing. We had to order our wine at the bar because they didn’t visit the table to check if we needed anything or if we were happy with our food. They started clearing the wine glasses away before checking if we’d finished the bottle - we hadn’t. And even though there was a little amount left they didn’t even ask if we’d like another bottle. The food came out so quickly we had finished the 3 courses within 80 minutes, and really felt that they wanted us out as quickly as possible. There was no atmosphere in the dining room, so our group of 8 left to return home for a few drinks. The other bar was cold (another friend was there and had to wear their coat to eat their dinner) and closed early (this was 9.15pm). Such a shame, as the food was really good, but the service lets the restaurant down. Adding this comment - the manager called me to apologise for the poor service that evening and to get more details to re-train / focus his staff. He took real ownership and I was very impressed by this.

This was the perfect place for a family meal - my coeliac son was expertly catered for and he love his food. We spent the whole meal talking about how lovely it was and the staff were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The interior is lovely - the open fires were a real treat - and we can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful garden.

My favourite one and only to go to restaurant. A large family lunch on a very busy Sunday and all was superb. Well done to the lovely smiling staff and excellent chef - we couldn’t have wished for better. Food is yummy - nothing not to like - and we’ll be back for more. Thank you for making it special. We booked the "snug" for 12 people, as a surprise 60th wedding anniversary celebration and was not disappointed. The Sunday roasts were delicious, as were the desserts! I have to compliment the staff. Service was very friendly and efficient. Definitely going back!

A nice lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We've been meaning to go here for a while, and were not disappointed. Very nice place, good atmosphere and the service was quick and efficient, without being 'annoying' - if you know what I mean.

Celebration meal for two on a Friday evening was excellent. Lovely restaurant, tasteful furnishings and pleasant atmosphere. Good food, good friendly service. Was busy but not overly so. Meal only - did not stay there.

Best food I've had for ages and we eat out a lot. The home made, cooked to order pie was delicious. The venison was perfect along with the veg and dauphin pots. I've really struggled to find mushrooms that have any flavour, the way they used to taste when I was a kid. This dish had them! I really relished this!! Took me back to happy days and my Mums amazing cooking. (I am quite old btw). I'd recommend The Red House to everyone, young and old. Also, very reasonably priced considering the high quality of food. We'll be going back soon.

Visited today for Sunday roast. The beef was delicious, plenty of it and all really well cooked. The lamb was fatty and was a bit of a small portion (2 thin slices) and after cutting the fatty bits away there was very little meat. Tasty though. Bit disappointing. Service was ok.. nothing special, a few things could have been done or said to make us feel more important/loved.

I regularly visit my elderly parents who live locally and we always go out to lunch to various different places ! Without question The Red House is mine, and their, favourite. The ambience is perfect, service is always incredibly efficient, and the food is spot on. If The Red House can get it so right, and have a full restaurant at all times, it’s so disappointing when others restaurants can’t work it out.

My friends and I visited for a Sunday roast and were all absolutely blown away. I'd go as far as saying it was the best roast dinner I've ever had, would highly recommend!

We were taken here for Sunday lunch as a thank you for helping our neighbour. It's a beautiful place, inside and out, The staff are very welcoming, polite, and helpful. The lunch itself was fantastic, followed by assorted fruit & meringue. 10/10 will definitely be going there again.

The Red House was the perfect venue for our wedding day. The setting was simply perfect and exactly what we were after for our rustic wedding. Carl was such a perfectionist with the finer details and the food was amazing. The day was seamless thanks to all hardworking staff who were polite and friendly to all our guests. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather for our big day which enabled us to have our faux ceremony by the pond (we had legally married the week before). The amount of space was perfect for all our guests to enjoy and having the garden bar was a big hit too. The kitchen delivered the yummiest canapés, wedding breakfast and evening hog roast. It was really important for us to have local produce and the food sourced for the pub ticked those boxes. The entire venue was beautifully presented, very clean bathrooms, well laid out and two vastly stocked bars. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was on hand to help keep the day running smoothly. We highly recommend using The Red House as a venue for any event.

Just fantastic! From the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. With the menus came a carafe of iced water. Good selection of dishes with some "traditional favourites" and some "posher" what the menu describes as "a la carte". Wow! - it was all beautifully presented and delicious. Can't pick out any one dish as it was all so good. We had high expectation of the puds and we weren't disappointed. Service was first class too. We'll be going back soon.

A friend recommended the venue, she said book a table we did it was busy, we had a lovely greeting at the door and shown to our table, after a few minutes our drinks order was taken and delivered promptly. We both had Sunday roast pork it was amazing with a huge Yorkshire pudding, ample of roast potatoes and a selection of fresh vegetables, a little dish a apple sauce home made. It was delicious and very tasty, absolutely nothing could have been better. For pudding I chose sticky toffee pudding was so stunning how it presentation was with a brandy snap shell and I’ve cream and custard, my wife had fruit crumble of the day, it was apple with nice flavoured chunks of apple served with custard. We had Coffees to finish. Again nothing you could fault, the staff service was excellent at no point did we feel rushed, the whole atmosphere was fabulous. We will definitely be returning soon.

The best roast dinner in Cambridgeshire! My partner and I regularly visit The Red House. The venue is surrounded by beautiful countryside with a huge garden and outside bar to enjoy the weather & views. This has become our favourite roast dinner spot and we are yet to find anywhere to beat it. The homemade scotch egg starter is a firm favourite too! The staff are always welcoming with great service. Booking advised as it is usually very busy when we visit.

Had a very enjoyable meal there for Sunday lunch today. Staff were willing to help ensure my daughter had something that met her needs and my GF mum was also well nourished! Will definitely be back!

Staff were welcoming and friendly. A good choice of beers and food. I had pie of the day, which was chicken and mushroom. This is cooked to order and takes at least 25 minutes, which is clearly stated on the menu. My wife had sausage and mash. Both dishes were delicious. We finished off with fruit crumble and custard and sticky toffee pudding, which was served in a brandy snap with both ice cream and custard.

Wow what a fantastic place. Jhst stopped off for a light lunch not only did the food look fantastic but it tasted as good as it looked. So helpful staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely our most favourite place to eat.

We'd highly recommend the Red House!! We booked for a big family meal for our 40th wedding anniversary and found everything about it excellent. The help from the manager when planning the event was personal and attentive - he seemed very keen to get things right for us and especially for a guest with special dietary requirements. The food was delicious - everyone enjoyed their meals. Everything was set-out beautifully for us and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to bring a cake and flowers, had a quiet room to ourselves, and we weren't rushed. The atmosphere was lovely and helped to make it a special occasion for us. Thank you!!

Visited for lunch, and both of us had fish and chips. Very nice, crispy batter, lovely chips. Service was not that attentive and the decor was quite grey. Food prices are on the higher side. However, can recommend the food quality.

I was at the Red House with my husband and two friends who had the roast beef X 2 and the roast pork X 1 which they said was fantastic. I had the Vegan Chilli which I had to send back as it was only luke warm. It came back very hot but, although ok, lacked spice. Wine and the apple crumble were great and it's one of our favourite places to eat.

We had a wonderful lunch in a very pleasant atmosphere. Service was, as always exemplary, timely and informative. The food was well prepared and up to the high standard I have come to expect from this venue.
