Very enjoyable afternoon, with good food. Beer was in nice condition, and staff were attentive. Not too busy.

What a find !! We had a fantastic Sunday dinner. The food was really very good - we had the lamb and chicken dishes and they wre both tasty, hot and filling. The service was excellent. All the staff were friendly, polite,welcoming and attentive at all times. Highly recommended and we will certainly be back - just go !! You'll be glad you did !!

Really lovely little pub/restaurant with equally lovely food. We enjoyed our meal here and would make an effort to visit again if in the local area. Definitely recommend the fish and chips!

Stopped off here for lunch when travelling. Received a very warm welcome and sat near the log burner which was lovely on a cold day. The menu was varied and the fish & chips was very good. The place was renovated to a high standard and was very pleasant. Easy to park in the car park. Could possibly be a squeeze at busy times. I would recommend for couples or families and will call again if passing. Thank you!

We had the 3 course festive menu last night, and although the food was excellent, the service was incredibly disappointing. We had to order our wine at the bar because they didn’t visit the table to check if we needed anything or if we were happy with our food. They started clearing the wine glasses away before checking if we’d finished the bottle - we hadn’t. And even though there was a little amount left they didn’t even ask if we’d like another bottle. The food came out so quickly we had finished the 3 courses within 80 minutes, and really felt that they wanted us out as quickly as possible. There was no atmosphere in the dining room, so our group of 8 left to return home for a few drinks. The other bar was cold (another friend was there and had to wear their coat to eat their dinner) and closed early (this was 9.15pm). Such a shame, as the food was really good, but the service lets the restaurant down. Adding this comment - the manager called me to apologise for the poor service that evening and to get more details to re-train / focus his staff. He took real ownership and I was very impressed by this.

This was the perfect place for a family meal - my coeliac son was expertly catered for and he love his food. We spent the whole meal talking about how lovely it was and the staff were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The interior is lovely - the open fires were a real treat - and we can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful garden.

My favourite one and only to go to restaurant. A large family lunch on a very busy Sunday and all was superb. Well done to the lovely smiling staff and excellent chef - we couldn’t have wished for better. Food is yummy - nothing not to like - and we’ll be back for more. Thank you for making it special. We booked the "snug" for 12 people, as a surprise 60th wedding anniversary celebration and was not disappointed. The Sunday roasts were delicious, as were the desserts! I have to compliment the staff. Service was very friendly and efficient. Definitely going back!

A nice lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We've been meaning to go here for a while, and were not disappointed. Very nice place, good atmosphere and the service was quick and efficient, without being 'annoying' - if you know what I mean.

Celebration meal for two on a Friday evening was excellent. Lovely restaurant, tasteful furnishings and pleasant atmosphere. Good food, good friendly service. Was busy but not overly so. Meal only - did not stay there.

Best food I've had for ages and we eat out a lot. The home made, cooked to order pie was delicious. The venison was perfect along with the veg and dauphin pots. I've really struggled to find mushrooms that have any flavour, the way they used to taste when I was a kid. This dish had them! I really relished this!! Took me back to happy days and my Mums amazing cooking. (I am quite old btw). I'd recommend The Red House to everyone, young and old. Also, very reasonably priced considering the high quality of food. We'll be going back soon.

Visited today for Sunday roast. The beef was delicious, plenty of it and all really well cooked. The lamb was fatty and was a bit of a small portion (2 thin slices) and after cutting the fatty bits away there was very little meat. Tasty though. Bit disappointing. Service was ok.. nothing special, a few things could have been done or said to make us feel more important/loved.

I regularly visit my elderly parents who live locally and we always go out to lunch to various different places ! Without question The Red House is mine, and their, favourite. The ambience is perfect, service is always incredibly efficient, and the food is spot on. If The Red House can get it so right, and have a full restaurant at all times, it’s so disappointing when others restaurants can’t work it out.

Very enjoyable Saturday lunch with family. Sympathetically restored pub with warm and comforting interior. Food was excellent/ well priced and the young staff truly outstanding. Beautifully maintained and 5*+ for the old 'bathroom cleanliness' measure1 Would recommend and return in a heartbeat.

My friends and I visited for a Sunday roast and were all absolutely blown away. I'd go as far as saying it was the best roast dinner I've ever had, would highly recommend!

We were taken here for Sunday lunch as a thank you for helping our neighbour. It's a beautiful place, inside and out, The staff are very welcoming, polite, and helpful. The lunch itself was fantastic, followed by assorted fruit & meringue. 10/10 will definitely be going there again.

Brilliant Sunday lunch . Good choices , plentiful servings, well cooked and pleasant surroundings along with very attentive staff and efficient with it . Cannot fault a thing . Very Good value for money .

The Red House was the perfect venue for our wedding day. The setting was simply perfect and exactly what we were after for our rustic wedding. Carl was such a perfectionist with the finer details and the food was amazing. The day was seamless thanks to all hardworking staff who were polite and friendly to all our guests. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather for our big day which enabled us to have our faux ceremony by the pond (we had legally married the week before). The amount of space was perfect for all our guests to enjoy and having the garden bar was a big hit too. The kitchen delivered the yummiest canapés, wedding breakfast and evening hog roast. It was really important for us to have local produce and the food sourced for the pub ticked those boxes. The entire venue was beautifully presented, very clean bathrooms, well laid out and two vastly stocked bars. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was on hand to help keep the day running smoothly. We highly recommend using The Red House as a venue for any event.

Just fantastic! From the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. With the menus came a carafe of iced water. Good selection of dishes with some "traditional favourites" and some "posher" what the menu describes as "a la carte". Wow! - it was all beautifully presented and delicious. Can't pick out any one dish as it was all so good. We had high expectation of the puds and we weren't disappointed. Service was first class too. We'll be going back soon.

A friend recommended the venue, she said book a table we did it was busy, we had a lovely greeting at the door and shown to our table, after a few minutes our drinks order was taken and delivered promptly. We both had Sunday roast pork it was amazing with a huge Yorkshire pudding, ample of roast potatoes and a selection of fresh vegetables, a little dish a apple sauce home made. It was delicious and very tasty, absolutely nothing could have been better. For pudding I chose sticky toffee pudding was so stunning how it presentation was with a brandy snap shell and I’ve cream and custard, my wife had fruit crumble of the day, it was apple with nice flavoured chunks of apple served with custard. We had Coffees to finish. Again nothing you could fault, the staff service was excellent at no point did we feel rushed, the whole atmosphere was fabulous. We will definitely be returning soon.

The best roast dinner in Cambridgeshire! My partner and I regularly visit The Red House. The venue is surrounded by beautiful countryside with a huge garden and outside bar to enjoy the weather & views. This has become our favourite roast dinner spot and we are yet to find anywhere to beat it. The homemade scotch egg starter is a firm favourite too! The staff are always welcoming with great service. Booking advised as it is usually very busy when we visit.

Had a very enjoyable meal there for Sunday lunch today. Staff were willing to help ensure my daughter had something that met her needs and my GF mum was also well nourished! Will definitely be back!

Staff were welcoming and friendly. A good choice of beers and food. I had pie of the day, which was chicken and mushroom. This is cooked to order and takes at least 25 minutes, which is clearly stated on the menu. My wife had sausage and mash. Both dishes were delicious. We finished off with fruit crumble and custard and sticky toffee pudding, which was served in a brandy snap with both ice cream and custard.

Wow what a fantastic place. Jhst stopped off for a light lunch not only did the food look fantastic but it tasted as good as it looked. So helpful staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely our most favourite place to eat.

First visit here last Friday. Will DEFINITELY return. The setting, food, service and ambience were all first rate. The chef deserves 6 stars! How haven't we found this place before?

We'd highly recommend the Red House!! We booked for a big family meal for our 40th wedding anniversary and found everything about it excellent. The help from the manager when planning the event was personal and attentive - he seemed very keen to get things right for us and especially for a guest with special dietary requirements. The food was delicious - everyone enjoyed their meals. Everything was set-out beautifully for us and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to bring a cake and flowers, had a quiet room to ourselves, and we weren't rushed. The atmosphere was lovely and helped to make it a special occasion for us. Thank you!!

Visited for lunch, and both of us had fish and chips. Very nice, crispy batter, lovely chips. Service was not that attentive and the decor was quite grey. Food prices are on the higher side. However, can recommend the food quality.

I was at the Red House with my husband and two friends who had the roast beef X 2 and the roast pork X 1 which they said was fantastic. I had the Vegan Chilli which I had to send back as it was only luke warm. It came back very hot but, although ok, lacked spice. Wine and the apple crumble were great and it's one of our favourite places to eat.

We had a wonderful lunch in a very pleasant atmosphere. Service was, as always exemplary, timely and informative. The food was well prepared and up to the high standard I have come to expect from this venue.

Our party of six had a fabulous Sunday lunch today - thank you. We all agreed it was the best Sunday roast we had had for ages. It was all served hot and the meat was all very tender ( we had all 3 roast options) and there was just the right amount of perfectly cooked vegetables. There was a good selection of veggie options too, and the wine was beautifully chilled. We were served swiftly and efficiently. Thank you !

Didn't have the starter or main we wanted (it was a Sunday and had run out of lamb?) and custard was split that was served with pudding? And the carrot and coriander soup was so peppery I almost couldn't eat it (and I love loads of pepper!) service was very slow, doubt we'll go back 😔

Went Saturday night for a birthday meal with friends, never been before , how I wish we had been before . The meal was superb , the staff were lovely and the place was spotless. Can’t wait to go back again .

Did not like to greeting we received when arrived. We were stopped at the main entrance and told to wait for our other guests that were running slightly late. We said we would be happy to sit in the bar area and have a drink while waiting but instead of allowing us to do so we were asked to check in first - not very welcoming It’s our second time there the food is good the waiters are good just the initial welcome was terrible!

Just wow....everything about our meal was amazing, the meals came out well presented, the steak was cooked to perfection. The sticky toffee pudding was the best ive ever had...period. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and we was well looked after. The restaurant was clean and tidy as were the (ladies) toilets you could see yourself in the floor it was so shiny. Lovely relaxed feel the whole evening and it wasn't quite. Highly recommend The Red House, we will definitely be returning.

What a lovely pub very elegant lovely surroundings. The staff were swift and polite. The buffalo wings starter was beautifully presented and moist. The ribeye stake was one of the best I've tasted and the triple cooked chips where chucky and delicious. The crumble was on point one of the best I've had. The toilets where immaculate and shiny with a shiny sealed Indian sandstone paving which fits the building perfectly. The gazebo out the back was huge with plenty of tables with astrays for us smokers. Honestly one of the best pubs and food I've ever eaten in. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to eat.

Was taken to the Red House yesterday for Sunday Lunch, been there 4 or 5 times now, never fails to be a lovely experience. Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, and fabulous staff, there so friendly polite, and very very good at their tasks....

Ate at the Red House restaurant today for Sunday lunch. Once again a Roast to die for. Not eaten a better roast anywhere.

Lovely restaurant in countryside. Nice dining room. Attentive and intelligent staff. We had the salad Nicosia and prawn cocktail starters. Excellent. Mains of sea bream and Pork belly also very good. Well presented. Overall a good evening and will be back

We took our daughter and friend as it was her birthday for a meal last night at the Red House Longstowe. My husband had Ribeye steak, cooked medium. He said it was one of the best Ribeye steaks he has eaten in a long time....
