Five of us went for Sunday lunch. I can honestly say this was one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. The food was lovely - & there was plenty of it. The service was great - very attentive. Such a lovely pub too. We will definitely be going back.

Once again, our family of ten had a super time at this historic pub. Maddie was her usual efficient self and her assistant was excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food and drink. There's not a lot more to say really - except we are already looking forward to our next visit. David and family, St Ives, Cambridgeshire

We arrived at 1.15 and didn't get served till 2.30. When the food arrived, we were disappointed. The liver was burnt and we complained. The mascapone stuffed chicken was dry and the mushroom cream sauce was congealed as if it had been standing for some time and the moisture had evaporated. The mash potato with both meals was dry and lumpy and didn't taste of any seasoning. We don't think there was any butter or cream put through the mash - just badly mashed plain boiled potatoes. And "seasonal" veg at Xmas doesn't spring to mind as being French beans with peas and sprouting broccoli. We'd expected a mix of things like sprouts, carrots, cabbage, parsnips - things that are winter veg. The food had no flavour. We were so disappointed that we won't be going back. What a shame as the pub is quite local with a very pretty interior.

A group of ten of us met here for a family get together - being midway between where everyone lived ( so we didn't know what to expect). We were asked to submit a pre-order for the mains - which was reasonable - but there were the inevitable last minute changes. All of this was managed well by Madison who was very patient with us. We arrived, were shown to a reserved table, our pre-orders confirmed (all correct) and service was really good. Will definitely be back for our next meet up. Thanks to the team who looked after us!

We have not eaten here before and the slightly officious tone of the online booking emails made us doubt our choice. However, this was the best pub experience we have had in many years. The welcome, the service and the food were all excellent. As vegetarians, to get a good Christmas dinner can be difficult, but glamorgan sausags with all the trimmings were superb. If they weren't homemade, they certainly looked and tasted like it.

Unfortunately, not a great experience. Whilst I appreciate that they were very busy, a 90 minute wait for our main course, to have one of the meals come out raw was not acceptable. When arrived they said Food only to pre booked. Wasn't happy decided to cut the lossesand go somewhere else. Next time they should advertise properly. Rather annoying.... Review from previous visit below. Food was more or less traditional pub grub. Creme brulée was the best. Wine a bit expensive. Starters with not much choice. Absolutely disgusting place, the staff are very rude, spoke to the manager, some man, he was very egotistical and incredibly rude. The food was mediocre at best. We went on a Sunday as we were told the roasts were something amazing. I had the beef which was well done, tough and chewy, the roast potatoes were burnt, the Yorkshire pudding was flat and doughy like it wasn’t cooked properly and was very heavy. All in all will not be coming back again and will be warning people off this place

First lunch out since restrictions lifted on 17th May. The weather was cold, wet and windy and the pub was freezing. Everyone was sitting in their overcoats inside. Not helped by everyone going out the rear exit and leaving the door open - need a spring closer on that door. The poor lady sitting just inside the door spent her whole meal getting up to close the door. The cream of asparagus soup was delicious and hot. Two of the steak and ale pies had over cooked and dried up pieces of steak but there was plenty of filling in the pies. The veg was hot and well cooked. Desserts were really good. Waited 25 minutes for the bill. Normally would have been happy to sit and chat after the meal but, by then, everyone was freezing and ready to go home. Would go back again on a warm day.

I went to The Three Tuns for a Sunday meal with friends. We sat outside in the covered area. It was really beautiful there, but it was a little chilly. We arrived at 1pm and we only got our food at 2pm. I was starving! I had a gluten free Sunday Roast with beef. The beef was really good, the gluten free Yorkshire pudding was not very nice. I like my vegetables to be healthy, but the vegetables were too undercooked for my liking. They were so hard that it was difficult to cut through them. The gluten free gravy was good. The gluten free brownie dessert was amazing! I don't think I will go back here for a Sunday Roast

Having been here before we had hoped to enjoy it just as much. Unfortunately we didn't. We were placed by the ladies toilets which whilst there is some kind of air freshener to hide a toilet odor, it was off putting - they should consider doing something different in that area. My steak and ale pie was good, but the chicken dishes were pretty poor. The chicken was chewy. My daughter spat hers out after about a minute of chewing a piece - I (dad) then tried it to see and it was very tough; almost like it had been reheated. My dad (grandad) also had chicken and his was the same. In addition, I like al dente veg, but some of the veg was raw, including the cauliflower cheese, which I didn't think was possible. It wasn't worth sending back because we'd already waited 1 hour for the food (That's not their fault, they were busy, which is a good sign) and everyone was getting hungry. To that end, the atmosphere was good, they have a good pint and the kids play area is excellent.
