The order never arrived and despite the attempts no one was able to help us. We spent money for nothing, staying even without dinner. Kindness is not at home.
I used to order from Relish every single Friday for pretty much 2-3 Years running. Me and my family also used to dine there on occasion to eat their delicious ribs and awesome burgers.
Unfortunately, they completely and utterly butchered their Ribs recipe by swapping out the beautiful tender pork for beef. These beef ribs now go down as the worst rack of "ribs" I've ever had the displeasure of tasting - fatty, chewy and downright disgraceful.
As you can see from the other reviews here, their ingredients and quality have plummeted dramatically, which has ultimately led to the closure of Relish. Driving by, you used to see less and less people sat down inside over time, and eventually you saw absolutely no one inside.
It's extremely disappointing to have watched this happen, as this used to be my top restaurant!
Been here lots of times over the years, and still really good. Gets busy as popular, and popular for a reason - it's really good. Lovely breakfast, lovely staff, lovely location and really good coffee. Chilly, windy morning but log burner on inside and cosy atmosphere. Lots of staff, so great service and great choice of food. Highly recommend.
I had a good lunch here. Heard many great recommendations before visiting, so I was looking forward to try it. There was a nice selection, some very delicious items but a few unfortunately underseasoned, almost bland. The falafel was extremely underwhelming, was it maybe frozen?
OK service.
I'll be back and will try different items, will give it another shot.
My family and I have visited several times now. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent service. Our meals are always delicious. The menu is extensive making it difficult to choose.I had the beef and ale pie today which was scrumptious, the beef melted in my mouth. We will no doubt be back soon.
Yesterday we had a lovely dinner at The Crown Inn and enjoyed atmosphere, food and most of all very pleasant staff! It is perfect!
First we visited the Church opposite the Inn. We had great support of a staff member to let us watch the beautiful church.
Enjoyed the Nice moment for my wife!
Can really recommend the Crown Inn!
The food is had here was delicious. I had the dough balls and the carbonara pizza. The portion of dough balls was very generous with a matching cup of garlic butter. The pizza was well cooked with a lovely combination of flavours. My only criticism is that the actual restaurant itself is quite dark and not particularly atmospheric. I think with some better lighting and a few more decorations it would make it perfect.

We went out of way to come to this place as we had heard that you can always rely on a great fish and chips meal here. We chose our own table for 4 persons in the window (Table 23) and checked through the menu card. You then have to order at the counter which is a little weird as there seem to be enough young ladies on duty. But OK. We ordered cod & chips, twice, plaice and chips and a saveloy. Mushy peas were extra as were three tiny sachets of brown sauce. All for an extra fiver. With our drinks, including a chilled pint of "Level Head" ale, the whole meal came to a round 60 pounds.
We ate there ca. 18:00 which may have been a bit early for most folks and which may have accounted for the sparse number of fellow diners there. No matter. We enjoyed the food and drink and left feeling happy.

Good historical hotel in the University Campus of Essex. Breakfast has a repetitive menu. Ala carte has good food options. Stayed here for 5 days and found it worth it. You will have to walk a lot if you don't have your own vehicle as public transport is far away from the hotel.
