An elegant restaurant with a high quality of food and servic

Exceptional service, surpassing any expectations. The level of hospitality was amazing. Whilst waiting for our takeaway order, in our scruffs and trainers we felt very welcome. Food was excellent, so fresh and beautifully seasoned.

Great people, great food, great service. The lime pickle is the best I have tried.. The curry's are great and there is some interesting choices. They offer some decent deserts too, gulab jamin which is great too. It's very clean aswell.

This is the local Indian restaurant to our sons home in Hemblington. Since he moved a month or so ago we have had three family visits to The Tamarind and each one has been extremely pleasant. The food is excellent and all the staff are brilliant, helpful and polite. We are usually served by Kaya who is a lovely young man and the rest of the staff share the same qualities. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and is well worth a visit.

Love the food in this place so fresh & tasty. Instead of having a takeaway have finally booked a table for October to have a sit in meal.

We invited friends to celebrate David’s birthday and the experience surpassed our expectations ! Giyash and his staff were so attentive and the food was delicious ! We all had a fantastic time! Thank you Giyash for making it so special!

We enjoy Indian food and as our son has recently moved to the area my wife and I decided to give The Tamarind Indian Restaurant a try on a Wednesday early evening. The restaurant was quite pleasant and with very attentive and polite staff. We ordered what we would usually eat in our local Indian restaurant for comparison purposes. The food was excellent as was the staff. By the time we were leaving at around 7.30pm the restaurant was very busy and full. A good choice for a meal out.

Visited for first time Saturday evening and will definitely be back! Clean open space, where you can easily have a conversation without having to hear the table next to yous conversation too. The attention to service from the staff was first class. Food was outstanding! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the experience!

High end indian restaurant V nice indeed

Customers come from far and wide to eat at the Tamarind and rightly so. It never fails to disappoint. This time with friends we enjoyed a super dinner - their food is fabulous - we have tried a variety of dishes over our visits. The rice is superb, this time we had lamb, chicken and prawns dishes. The onion bhajees are a meal in themselves. They also do take away - so if your eyes are bigger than your tummies just ask them to pop the leftovers into a box for you. Easy parking right outside, with level entrance and very accessible toilets. Helpful waiters. I suggest you book - and remember they only open from 5pm and not on a Tuesday.

First visit to Tamarind, despite the 25 minute delay for our booked table which was apologised for, the visit was excellent. Really attentive service, superb food and a relaxed laid back atmosphere.

just been for dinner at the tamarind for my daughters birthday, they had put up a birthday banner and sprinkles on the table before we arrived. the food was excellent and the service is like nowhere else i’ve ever been. first class. can’t rate this restaurant high enough. thank you 🙏 we will definitely be back again.

On holiday in the area and went here for a takeaway, food was really disappointing. Mint sauce tasted like something else not very pleasant, tikka masala was sickly sweet and one of the specials was absolutely tasteless.

Can't believe our luck that this amazing place is now on our doorstep. Amazing service, very helpful but not intrusive. Menu is just right, not lengthy and confusing but with a good selection of dishes. Food was delicious and exactly as described, served on piping hot plates which is a real plus for me. My prawns were lovely and soft so not overcooked. Will definitely be back as it's a 10 minute walk but I would travel a long way for food this good. Not overly expensive either.

Its a run of the mill Indian restaurant. There are no others located nearby so it does quite well. There are preferred indians if you go into the city.

First time visit with friends, fantastic in every way. Delicious food, first class service and atmosphere. For the level of service that is sadly now lacking in so many places and the quality of the food, The Tamarind offers good value. Looking forward to our next visit. Short notice booking by us. They fitted us in, great service, good food, sensible prices.

We've been going here on and off for over 10 years. It's always been a bit on the pricey side but service was good. But based on the take away just ordered it isn't worth it any more. The prices have gone up but the portions reduced, we got a main course in a small 'rice' container, popdums all broken into crums, main dishes only partly filled and the service was below standard, bordering on rude. Food tasted fine but overall quite dissapoiting. Unfortunate as it is our local, but its worth travelling to Merchants in Thrope which is better all round. Shame!

A fantastic restaurant really really nice food all the staff are very warm, friendly and make you feel extremely welcomed. Food has great flavour and if you like extra spicy food, just ask and they can deliver without compromising on taste. All round excellent place to go.

If you’re after excellent food for a special occasion then Tamarind Indian Restaurant at Blofield is the place to go. We had been previously some while ago but the quality of food is better than ever! You are welcomed like long lost friends when you enter and the service is as good as any fine dining restaurant. My wife started with Zinga Laziz; meaty king prawns beautifully grilled to perfection, and I had Aloo Tiki, a North Indian potato and spinach dish in a garlic and tomato sauce. For mains, a Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice, and Imli Murgh; breast of chicken pieces cooked in a spicy sauce with paprika, turmeric and nutmeg, and flavoured with tamarind, and accompanied with lemon and chilli rice. Absolutely delicious. With a side of beautiful Aloo Dum (baby potatoes pan fried with mustard seeds cumin and garlic) we were seriously stuffed and could not compliment the chef more. A fantastic evening with excellent food. What more could you want other than a pint of Cobra to accompany and a garlic Nan for mopping up! Perfect!

Three of us went here for a cooking experience which didn't disappoint! I called the restaurant and asked Giyash if he would run a short cooking course for 3 of us as we wanted to learn more about spice cookery. Giyash was happy to oblige and we rocked up a few weeks later. We were taken into the kitchen which was spotless. Some prep work was going on, but we were given aprons and shown all the different spices they use. We got to do a bit of prep for the dish that we were about to cook: 1. Butter Chicken 2. Jalfrezi 3. Takka dahl 4. Bhindi bhaji 5. Perfect pilaf rice Giyash was happy to answer all our question as he talked us through the steps to using the large array of spices that went into all the dishes. Lots of tips and pointers on cooking each dish, and some of the less know ingredients that went into the marinades! We got to add the spices and handle the pans on the intense heat of the kitchen burners. The smells that filled the kitchen were amazing as were the little tasters! All the dishes were amazing and honestly some of the best Indian dishes I've had for a very long time, and we cook it ourselves! (with expert guidance ;-) Overall it was a great experience that we all took a lot away from, in addition to everything we cooked - we were stuffed and very happy!

We visited The Tamarind in Blofield whilst on holiday and what an experience! We were made to feel so welcome and comfortable. Food wise, 10 out of 10! It was absolutely delicious! Presentation first class too! As far as the restaurant goes itself, it certainly has that high class feel about it and the toilet was spotless! I would certainly recommend The Tamarind to anybody. Well done to the owner and staff alike. I will return!

I love a good indian meal and like many have my favourites which we visit when we can. I’ve just found a new favourite. From the moment they opened the door and greeted us to when we left with a doggy bag we was treated like honoured guests. All staff were attentive and efficient, I’d barely placed my empty wine glass back on the table before I was asked if I wanted another drink! Never have we had 6 options with the poppadoms, that was an absolute delight. Starters (photo) was beautifully presented as was the rest of the meal, absolutely delicious and hot and fresh. Without doubt the best Indian restaurant we’ve ever been to. And for the first time ever I was offered take away boxes for the leftovers which I took advantage of and enjoyed for the second time tonight. Cannot wait to return.

As a indian food critic, wanted to check the quality of the food, with the my son and daughter. Was really impressed with the flavours and freshness of the ingredients of the food, very well banaced. Would highly recommend visiting this resturant for a meal out with friends and family and you will have a great experience.

Our first visit to this restaurant left us truly amazed. Not your usual square or rectangular floor space filled with tables but a restaurant thoughtfully designed with customer comfort at the top of the list. So much space with very comfortable seating. Service from the time we walked in to when we left was professional and attentive but always timed well. The food was possibly the best Indian we have ever eaten and personally I've had the pleasure for almost 50 years. Poppadoms to nibble on with a large selection of pickles. A meat platter to share which was beautifully presented and not only succulent but full of flavour. Two specials for the main course which we had never had before. Very tender lamb and beef that were both amazing in flavour and certainly on the new list of favourites. Best mushroom bhaji ever plus rice naans and a new potato dish all made for a fantastic meal. Very reasonably priced bottle of house wine that again was very good plus a couple of Cobras and we were pleasantly sufficed. As for the bill. Just over £100 which we felt was excellent value for money considering the quality of food and service. The owner also took the time to come and chat with us and kindly offered us complimentary drinks. We hope to visit many more times as well as introduce friends and family. This is a must visit. Book in advance. We went on a Sunday and it was full of very happy diners

Dinner last night - with our friend from Kerala who guided us through the menu choices - we dont normally eat out at an Indian restaurant. Everything was delicious - I sampled all her choices! Popadums so light they could probably fly and the dishes were fabulous with delicate spicing. The rice was worthy of eating on its own. The presentation of the food, especially the starter was beautiful - like a painting. Service was first class , attentive and the waiting staff knew about their dishes - There were quite a few people dining there. I would suggest you book a table if you want to go to dine there. to save disappointment. Ample parking outside and easy access if you have limited mobility. They also do take aways!! The restaurant is very spacious, so you do not need to be sitting on top of other diners - very important in these post covid affected days. Overall a lovely experience.

Always lovely food. Visit every year when on holiday

After a great meal in June we thought we'd take our daughter when she came up on July. Good decision The service was consistent and very friendly. Food was stunning. The meat platter is highly recommended as a starter as was the monkfish. Mains were packed with flavour. Didn't have desserts as too full from the meal itself and it appeared that only one dessert dish was made on site. Had the mango lassi again and I still think it's one of the best I've had. The chutney pots with the poppadoms are large. Very moorish so quite easy to fill up on those before the meal itself Service, quality of food and drink and pricing make this an excellent value restaurant.

Excellent service and food you can tell that the restaurant is good as it was full but this did not affect the food or the service.

Had much better meals at the ones in Blofield and Ormsby. Food was average and poor parking. My friends thought the same.

Visited whilst staying in the area on the back of reviews read here. So glad we did :) Really good vegetarian curry, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Such fresh ingredients used , great flavour & ordered a Bhuna so not too hot either....

Seven of us ate at at Tamarind on Saturday and it was mostly a pleasant experience. We all had starters and mains and food was served in decent time. Some of the service was a little flat but on the whole staff were friendly. The main issue I had was with my starter, I ordered Tandoori Monkfish which when it arrived was cooked well but the fish was very flakey so I suspect it wasn't actually Monkfish, shame as all the other food was tasty. I'd have taken a photo but I was also enjoying the drinks menu.

Eating in or takeaway - the food here is delicious. The staff cannot be any more attentive, polite or customer centric. The atmosphere, even when collecting your food, is lovely - welcoming and friendly. When you come here you know that you matter to them...

I come all way from lowestoft to eat here; best Indian I've been. Aloo Tikki is amazing try it please. Been coming here while now. 10/10 for everything

A truly wonderful meal. Service was outstanding from the minute we walked in until we left after the meal. The flavours on the meat platter starter were amazing and the meat very tender. The mains were packed with flavoursome spices. The spice heat level was spot on. The chilli and lemon rice was aromatic and spicy hot. So much so I had to order a mango lassi to help calm the taste buds down. The lassi was easily one of the best I've had. Starter, poppadoms, chutneys, 2 pints kingfisher, 2 mains, 2 rice and a lassi £72. Quality to service to taste made this a truly great value for money meal. It's easy to see why they are so popular and have won awards. Highly recommended.
