My family and I have visited several times now. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent service. Our meals are always delicious. The menu is extensive making it difficult to choose.I had the beef and ale pie today which was scrumptious, the beef melted in my mouth. We will no doubt be back soon.

Lovely friendly pub with high quality food and a great choice. We had the pate starter followed by chicken burger and a ploughman’s. Be aware though there are two locations on google maps for this establishment the other being a private residence the next street up.

Wonderful customer service. Only one drawback. There is no disabled toilet at the Beehive Inn. You have to be semi ambulant and use the women's toilet. If you are an active wheelchair user and chair dependent you cannot access any toilet facility. I'm not complaining about the issue as the Inn is a registered building and can't make that many changes to the structure. It's a wonderful place and I would recommend a visit to anyone.

This is an archetypal village pub, that is a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the effort to get there. There was an extensive menu that should have something for everyone, whether you just want a lite snack or full meal, and all for a reasonable price.

I have never eaten so well in a pub, the food was so nice, if you can't decide, go for the steak and ale pie, the food is better than a lot of restaurants I've been to. The staff are super friendly and if you see Molly the dog, say hello, she's super friendly too.

Having stopped in Chapel-en-le-Frith, we asked a business owner for a recommendation for lunch. She directed us to visit the Beehive Inn in Combs, a small village 10 minutes drive away. We loved it. Inside & outside seating, good ales and I loved the Hot Roast Beef and sticky onion and gravy dish on Granary Bloomer. Win!!! One of those pubs where you get to chat to the local customers and admire their well-behaved dogs. This is the best of British!

After a longish walk around the edges to the shooting lodge then a circuitous route to the farm track to the B road down to Combs we stopped for a well deserved Bee Hive pub lunch. It was fantastic! One Seafood platter of smoked salmon, prawns & crab pâté with salad & chunky bread. One Surf n turf salad with fillet tails & crab. We shared a portion of chunky chips...half a cider & a pint of 0% 1664. Sitting outside in the sunshine we had a lovely time. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Will definitely go again with friends when they come to our house...

You are not likely to bump into this pub, as it is not your average high street pub. It does however have an excellent choice of food, remember to check out the specials board as it genuinely does change and offer different dishes, not just yesterday's leftovers on special. The portions are huge, so near that in mind if wanting a pudding 😁

Visited last night..arrived about 7:30 for food, hadn’t realised it was quiz night and the kitchen closed at 7..but the lady behind the bar was fab, went and asked chef if he was happy with to cook for us,which he was bless him! Ordered a steak and fish and chips, both came out super quick and were really tasty, Husband had desert which was obviously home made and again fantastic. We were dragged in to the weekly quiz which is something husband and I never do!! We had a great time and didn’t do too badly on the quiz either! We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome, the quiz master even gave us some ideas for walks to take the dogs on(we’re on holiday for the week!). Food was great, staff were wonderful, the pub has a great atmosphere and even a little farm shop with local produce. Definitely recommend and we’ll be popping back before we travel home!

I should have known when I was offered mozzarella to top my pasta because they had run out of parmesan. Also, the menu described items as “dirty” or “loaded”. I’m surprised they didn’t offer burnt ends, pulled pork or bao buns. My pasta arrabbiata was made with sweet and sour sauce. They took it back and replaced it with one made with sweet and sour sauce and a bit more chilli. The server checked whether it was OK this time and I’m sorry to admit I meekly said that it was. I tried to convince myself, to no avail. It was inedible. My wife had a passable piece of chicken which, along with my cowardly failure to let them know I remained hungry and unhappy, elevates the score to ‘poor’. It came with strange white oven chips and a coagulated phlegm-like stilton sauce, presumably thickened with cornflour. And while we’re at it, the servers kept ignoring my attempts to pay the bill so I had to chase one down. However, it was a lovely sunny evening.

Stumbled upon this place during an early morning hike and wished we hadn't already had breakfast. Busy, friendly, pretty, and inviting, we looked enviously at the breakfasts being served to the other table. Took a look at the menu, and everything looked scrummy and reasonably priced. We had soft drinks and ice creams on a beautiful summer morning, and I also bought local honey and biscuits from the integral shop, plus some venison dog treats. We all agreed that we will be coming back next time we're in the area.

I was absolutely disgusted at the Customer Service earlier. I am a walker and has called a day previously due to the beautiful weather and got charged £6.95 which is standard off a very sociable bar lady that was petite and had bobbed hair and lilac nails for a small bottle of Prosecco. I called this afternoon and had £7.20 on me to give them a tip to be informed that a small bottle of Prosecco is £8.50. I obviously quibbled this to have the afore mentioned bar lady leaving the bar leaving me with a young bar lady that looked about 14 and an older brunette informing me that if I hadn't brought a bank card to cover the rest it was going to come out of their tips... Needless to say I took my money back which was also passed back to me like I was a Vagrant and I had my solo drink at The Hanging Gate and indeed a small Prosecco is £6.95 in there. Enough said. I shall not be revisiting!!!!

Came up for the bank holiday for a few days, whereby we had one night to eat out and, in all honesty, I’m so glad we picked here and just about managed a table too! So worth booking ahead. Although parking is limited right outside, there is a bigger car park around 10 seconds walk if you turn left out of the pub then on the right just up the road - literally seconds away. We spent around £70 on two people, which covered two fantastic meals (beef lasagne was insanely good), two larges glasses of wine and two desserts. Inside was very retro and in-keeping with the local aesthetic which I always appreciate. Really fantastic food and even better service - food came out within 5-10 minutes piping hot and tasting delicious as you’ll see by the photos! It was raining too, but there’s a little outdoor section which is protected by a glass roof and has electric heaters on standby - perfect for fresh air but protection from the elements. Can’t wait to come back here! Side note - there’s also a little ‘tuck’ shop of sorts to the side of the bar, selling jams and other little things. Beautiful all round, it has to be said.

The meal was superb , reasonably priced and the service was really quick and efficient , we could not fault the quality of the food was excellent , the staff all very friendly and we was amazed considering how busy they were that the food was presented quickly and with a smile , Menu was extensive and even our soon to be teenager was impressed ( which does not happen very often ) The place had a great atmosphere and even had a mini farm shop inside , which I wished we had taken a look at and took home some local produce . But the fact we never gives us a reason to go back . Lovely outside area as well which I’m sure will be a favourite for walkers etc in the summer . As just one member of a vegan family, of which we are all in agreement, there is no better place to eat! I always leave The Walnut Tree looking forward to my next visit. An added bonus is the adjoining food and craft shop which sells individual frozen portions of a large selection of their meals..............curries, tagines, stews.........we have tried them all and they, too, are delicious. Thank you to everyone at the Walnut Tree for a truly amazing gastronomical experience every time!

We’ve visited The Punch Bowl many times, as it’s just 10 minutes away from us, and it’s always been a nice pub in the past. Unfortunately, something has changed, and it’s not for the better. Upon arrival, we were met with stares from the locals, almost as if we were being judged on whether we were ‘worthy’ of being there. Despite having made a reservation, we were seated at a cramped table in the corner, right by the serving door, which was kicked open into my chair. The table had originally been set for three, but it was hard to see how it would’ve worked comfortably for any diner being so close to the door. There were other tables available, including one with just young children at it, so it felt unnecessary to place us where we were. The food was okay, but it no longer felt like good value for the price. Additionally, we were charged for a drink we didn’t order, though it was promptly removed when we pointed it out. All in all, this community pub no longer lives up to what it once was.

A group of us were staying nearby and booked a table for saturday lunch time. As it was quite a big group we were asked to pre order food and on arrival one of our party wanted to change their meal which was done with no fuss. The food was amazing! No one could fault their meal. We had planned to go somewhere else the next day for sunday lunch but decided to return here instead and we were not disappointed, the sunday lunch was amazing too! A great little find that we will be visiting when we're next in the area.
