Fantastic food and even better staff. Portion sizes were excellent, and undoubtedly, the area's best fish and chip shop!!

Absolutely amazing. I have been so down since finding out I had celiac disease that I couldn’t have fish and chips anymore, then my husband found this gem. Everything is cooked in a separate fryer to everything else it was very reassuring. Portion size was really good, it wasn’t much more that normal cost and it tasted just as good. I would highly recommend this chip shop I can’t wait to visit again.

Being a Coeliac, it’s vital that my food is Gluten Free at all times, so it’s great to know that I can eat from here with total confidence. The portions are both generous and delicious and I would recommend them to anyone as they’re served with friendly pride too. Lovely!

Searching for good gluten free trustworthy takeaway is not to be taken lightly. This was absolutely amazing. We called first to ensure everything was gluten free and ensure they knew exactly what that entailed. From the first friendly phone call & order to pickup was very smooth. The fish & chips exactly hit the spot 100%. Amazing 😋. Good sign was how busy they were. We'll definitely be back.

Not impressed with how the senior chef treated a young member of staff who was clearly doing their best and new to the job. In response to your comment. Maybe speak to the staff who were working last night, they will give you all the evidence you need. Respect to the lady (also a member of staff) that stood up for the young girl.

Absolutely chuffed I found this little treasure today! Being gluten free I have been craving fish and chips for so long and have struggled to find any chip shops that cater for gluten free, but this one does! I ordered battered fish, battered jumbo sausage, chips and curry sauce - ALL GLUTEN FREE and most importantly it was super delicious!! The fish was perfect, the batter is slightly different texture (of course) but was very crispy and tasty. The staff are very friendly and my food was freshly made. Be assured they have separate fryers & utensils etc to avoid cross contamination. Highly recommend 💯

I have yet to find a chip shop in the area that is better, although they are not the best I have ever had, that's a hard title to live up to and having tried a few others locally this chip shop to be better than most, with friendly staff and a good range. Not cheap but not expensive either. They also sell Gluten free chips as standard and you can request other items like fish to be cooked gluten free aswell for those with allergies, which is also hard to find locally.

Worst piece of fish I have ever had. Totally overcooked Huss which was dark brown coloured batter and cooked so much it stuck to the batter like superglue. Inedible. Total waste of money. Chips not bad.

Used Chip Inn to order food for a large family get together of 23, amd received fantastic customer service. Everything from my initial enquiry to tsking the order in and then collection of the order, was dealt with efficiently, politely, quickly and with clear understanding. The food was ready at the given time of collection and clearly labelled to allow quick distribution of the hot delicious food. Comments were made how how lovely the fish was. Would definitely recommend Chip Inn!!! A huge thank you to all the staff.

Best fish and chips ever. Only given 4 for service because quite a wait to be served but obviously that's due to the food being so popular and lovely.

This place has improved tenfold in recent years. The food is amazing and prepared so well and.... it's actually nicely priced. 10 years ago it was considered to be a pricey chip shop and the portions were slim. Not anymore though! Thankyou guys for the great reform and food you serve from here - you are brilliant!

The best fish and chips in town by far. We have Gluten Free and it’s lovely. Fish is cooked to perfection. Always worried about having GF as other places have made it dry but this place you can guarantee it’s fresh and tasty

Deliciously crisp and freshly cooked fish and chips every time. The staff are always welcoming and make sure that food is top quality and served in generous portions. Lots of choice available and cooked to order. Prices are also very reasonable. Finally, the new layout inside the shop has made it very safe during these strange Covid times. My chip shop of choice every time!

I'm rang before hand to see if they done gluten free products and was lovely to find out that they did they lady I spoke to on the phone was very polite and said it does cost 50p extra for gluten free products to which I thought wasn't bad at all. I ordered over the phone and my order was ready by the time I got there. It was absolutely the best I've had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and polite. My family and I will definitely be going back THE BEST

hit and miss here weve had some good food and some bad last time the chips tasted like they had been cooked in burnt oil not nice wont use again

Have been going to Bury St Edmunds 'Chippie' for gluten free fish & chips for years. However to my delight last week I discovered that 'The Chip Inn' in Stowmarket where I live are now offering gluten free fish and chips. You wait while they cook the fish and chips in a separate fryer to avoid contamination. Boy they were delicious; cooked to perfection.. Lovely to have this around the corner to where I live. Friendly service and good fish and chips.

Recently started using the Chip Inn, friendly service, freshly cooked. Open on Sunday evening which is handy for me.

Great Fish and Chips. Have a variety of pies, sausages, fish cakes etc. Cater for childrens portions. Also Vegan customers.

Our favourite chippy in Stowmarket, never had a bad meal there, consistently good and always large portions, friendly staff, well done!

Chips can sometimes be hit & miss but if you work Sunday & fancy a change they are OPEN until 8.30 Fish normally cooked to order, very good!

After trying almost most of the chip shops in stowmarket we tried here and I can honestly say it's the one of the best we've had chips cooked in vegetable oil is a must for me so was on to a winner straight away ! We had a mix of cod and haddock both were cooked fresh for us the shop itself was extremely clean whilst waiting for our food , the staff were cleaning (which is always a good sign ) very friendly staff and very good food will defiantly make this our regular chippy from now on :)

The chips are large and perfectly cooked - no overcooked bits at the bottom of the tray. This restaurant is highly recommended.

We have purchased fish and chips from The Chip Inn for some months but tonight we had the driest, most inedible battered fish we have ever tried to eat. Grim doesn't start to describe it. Re-cooked we would suspect. We will find some other fish and chip shop in future. Such lack of respect to customers cannot be accepted.

Call me old fashioned but there is something a bit too modern about this fish shop. I am guessing it is the oils that are used to fry the food in.... Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but if you want a more traditional flavour to your fish and chips( the beef dripping type taste) then perhaps this isn't the place for you. Really lovely helpful staff though.
